I called in Sat.10/29 to place an order for 3 dozens of cupcakes. A woman told me that they couldn't customize my order because of the quick turn around which I understood - needed them for 11/1, but their regular ones will be ready. I showed up 11/1 to pick up my order, and I was told they don't take orders over the phone. I was very confused. I told them that I wouldn't have driven 30 mins to pick up a made up order, so I asked to speak with the manager, Ricardo. Btw, the tinny store had ready to go cupcakes - enough to complete my order. Ricardo didn't believe my story and opted to defend his staff, calling my story/experience "he said-she said". He asked me why didn't I place the order online, which I would have done if instructed correctly on Saturday. I didn't yell, cursed or raised my voice, but I was visually upset. I had committed to take those cupcakes to a party. However, I told him I would "never buy from his store again". Well That struck a cord, because immediately he asked me to leave his store, refused to sell me the cupcakes, told me I was rude (for what? I guess complaining). To be honest, who in their right mind would order again from this business if they don't get it right the first time. I begged a little for the silly cupcakes (I regret that), he said NO, and asked me to leave. No apologies for the whole misunderstanding, instead I was basically told that I lied and in the end I was pointed out the door and walked away with no cupcakes.
I now thank him for his unprofessional and unpredictable behavior. On my way out, I Googled cupcakes and found many businesses. I drove to "Nothing Bundt Cakes" - what a difference: what a beautiful, big and clean store with many clients coming in and out. The staff was super polite, and I got my 3 dozens of delicious cupcakes. I know Ricardo won't agree with my story, but that's ok - everyone at the party laughed at the story while eating deli cupcakes. I will never step in his store again.
