Cakor

An unexpected surprise was remembering how much I enjoyed Albanian food and running into friends that told me they were going to Cakor, located in The Bronx’s famous Arthur Avenue. They offer both Albanian and Italian but I was all about Albanian last night, but based on my experience, I’ll 100% be going back soon to try their Italian as well. We started with Calamari and salad, which respectively, was some of the best I’ve ever had. Both were super fresh, calamari was seasoned perfectly and the salad was refreshing. My friend had the roasted potatoes which may look like wedges, but have a totally different taste and texture, and was fantastic. The highlight was the Mixed Grill plate which has all of the famous grilled meats and sausages, along with some cheese and more roasted potatoes. I cannot explain the scope of flavor in each type of meat on the plate, as you should treat yourself and anyone willing to all that it offers. The wait staff was phenomenal and courteous, treating my wife as the only woman there, as well as lady should be and serving her. The food does take a bit longer than you may be used to but it’s because of how fresh it is. You owe it to yourself to go and try this place, as it was exquisite experience and I cannot wait to go back.

We were passing through and we stopped to give Albanian food a chance. Good impression! Very friendly staff, very good food (we liked the stuffed pljeskavica), but the service was quite slow. There were quite a few people in the restaurant and perhaps that is why they took so long to bring us our food

Good food, good service, plenty of space, high chairs available. Overall a very pleasant experience. Just don't try to drive here, parking is basically impossible.

Balkans, the rugged Southeast region of Europe is beautiful. The food in this region is vast and amazing. Even Italian and Greek food in the Balkans is outstanding. Hence, by no means I want to reduce this rich cuisine to just grilled meats. But it needs to be said that this region takes grilling to the next level. The mixed grill platter at Cakor represents a typical Balkan Grill Platter. There are places where you can get Sweetbread, Rocky Mountain Oysters, & even Heart in the platter, but what you get at Cakor is sufficient and outstanding. I always like chasing it down with IVI's Peach Soda.

The service was great the staff were helpful and assisted us with choices and explanations. They were kind and good service overall the ambiance was ok it had tvs and live music as well i enjoyed it in the late night. good live music show and the staff is cool the food on the other hand was complete midz and didn't hit. basically it was underwhelming and required more seasoning. I got the Baruch with meat stuffing and an assortment of mini kebabs B-

Great service - nice old school atmosphere. We had fresh local bread (complimentary), ice cold Corona beer and Canada Dry Club Sodas. The two Sicilian salads with a simple vinaigrette and roasted eggplant and fresh mozzarella and tomato were delicious ($16 each) Tte platter sized Chicken Parm had melted high quality mozzarella on it and a nicely spiced tomato sauce with perfectly cooked vegetables. It came with fries that were hot and crispy. The Cakor omelet was perfectly cooked. A relaxing lunch in little Italy

The food was absolutely incredible, go on Sunday for their stuffed pepper special. The staff was super friendly and helped pick out the perfect dishes for everyone to share. The restaurant is kind of strange with the mannequins, but I can't say it isn't charming. Would highly recommend, especially on Sundays!!!!

Delicious Food. Attentive staff. We were looking for a good Italian place on Arthur Avenue. Instead we ended up here. Bread was terrific. "Meat Plate" was wonderful and my Italian entree was delicious. Highly recommended.

We are here with friends on Saturday after seeing the train show at the botanical gardens. The service was so friendly and lovely (and they didn't mind our 5 yr olds rolling around on the floor ). The food was yummy, with certain dishes made to order (like the burek- which was delicious)! So you know it's fresh! I had the veal parmigiana and it was some of the best I've ever had, and it wasn't even from an Italian restaurant. Might definitely be our new go-to in the area as it wasn't crowded and you could tell it was mostly locals eating there.

I when a Saturday night and it had live music, it was nice, The food was good and big portions. I think they aren't to use to receive new people so it felt like going into someone's house. Overall I like the place and the ambience.

We just wrapped up having a marvelous meal at Cakor. The staff was so solicitous and professional. Had traditional cevapa which had delicious and nuanced flavors, fresh salad and pasta which was tossed in flavorful olive oil. Tasted the veal piccata which was great! Wine curated and wonderful. What a gem of a restaurant. Would make a special trip to come back.

The first time I tried this place, I fell in love with it, love the food, flavor, I have order to pick up and also delivery through UberEats, I can only find baklava in the Bronx in this restaurant so every time I order food I have to get baklava. I totally recommend this place.

Friendly service, welcoming ambiance, and most of all, great food. Very happy with my experience there and recommend that all visitors of the neighborhood give çakor a visit.

Çakor has always been my go-to place whenever I'm in the mood for a nice, Italian or Albanian dinner. The place is very cozy and welcoming. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable of every dish on the menu. Excellent for families, too!! And last but not least, their food is PHENOMENAL. I actually prefer the Italian dishes more (everything is excellent), such as the Chicken Francese...It's to die for. The chef apparently has over 30 years experience cooking in Italian restaurants all over Manhattan!! So good to have such high-scale food so nearby and without breaking the bank.

Feels a little spooky from outside but the people are nice and the Penne Čakor (penne with broccoli rabe and shrimp) was brilliant!

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is very good and worth the trip every time I come here. The staff are very attentive and always there when you need anything. They stay open late definitely a plus. Try the little jewel giving little Italy a run for the money. You won't be disappointed.

Great, authentic Balkan cuisine. I had it picked up because there was no seats available at the time and it was very good. Friendly staff. Very nice bartender.

Çakor is awesome. The lamb is to die for - best I've ever had. Service is great and this is authentic Albanian food - the real deal. Love this place.

Have to say this place for its location is pretty good. Parking around here is limited so it's not the restaurants fault. Cakor salad with chicken was very fresh. Chicken scarp for being an Albanian restaurant is very good also. One waiter needs to get a larger shirt. Lol. Will come again

So let me begin by saying #OMG! This place is located by lil Italy section in the Bronx . It's caters more of the Albanian demographic. The menu is focused on Albanian & Italian cuisine . Let me tell you that my Dominican behind was absolutely impressed ! Place is small and cozy and clean let's begin with that. Our waiter was beyond awesome can't remember his name but he is the only bald one ( sorry lol) there. Very attentive , was on point with everything from beginning to end . The only regret I have is that I couldn't take a pic of my food because I was starving and I wasn't expecting it to be that good but they left me in shock ! I had penne ala Vodka and all I have to say is #Damnnnnn I left my plate spotless! The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce definitely in my top five. Presentation of all the dishes I saw going around other tables was 100% on point ! I promise next time I will have pictures! For now take my word for it when I tell you definitely worth checking out . Awesome atmosphere awesome service and phenomenal food! Plus they have live entertainment after 10:30pm they have 3 lovely ladies singing ( it's in Albanian) but they sing so good you wouldn't even care what language they singing . My wife and I had to grab some espresso machine parts around the corner, but happened upon the first annual NYC Pizza Festival. DiFaras of Brooklyn fame, and many others from around New York, the country, and the world lined the streets. But I have a specific diet I follow and pizza was out. However, my wife is Albanian and she thought we'd stop in for a bite to eat. Where we are in Brooklyn the aren't any Albanian restaurants, so this spot pleased us to see. The staff were so friendly and inviting. They were super helpful, and my wife and they spoke in their first language to order and chat. The food I had was simple a traditional salad, and some juicy and tender grilled chicken, all preceeded by a fantastic espresso. My wife enjoyed a capuccino and some traditional foods she's only able to otherwise have when visiting family; Burek (spinach and feta cheese filo dough pie) and Qofte, a sort of flattened fried meatball. It was all very good, and prepped with care, we could tell. The experience left us smiling, and with some goodies to take home because the Burek was huge. I happy we took this trip today.

The best place to get your Balkan food and at great prices. They have amazing cevape and home made bread. You also have the option to order for pickup. On week nights they have live music.
