Today was my first time at Calareso’s Farm and it was a great decision to give a visit! There is plenty of parking, easy to access the lot by car. They had a HUGE selection of pumpkins and all of them were beautiful. The inside of the store is well laid out, filled either very healthy fruits, vegetables and other products at good prices. It is also worth trying out their apple cider donuts because they are amazing! I highly recommend coming here, I had a pleasant experience. I will definitely come back.

Google
Loved it! Great selection and helpful staff. Our visit was in October, so you can imagine the fall products and colors were outstanding! We were visiting from out of state. We will visit again whenever we're in Reading!!

Ana O.

Google
Loved this nursery and market!!! Fresh fruits and fresh pre-made and prepared dishes. Chicken parm is delicious 😋!!! They have a great selection of Italian sauces and pasta. The cooler area has fresh imported cheeses and deli meats. They carry Dom's products!! The market is very clean and well stocked. It's a must to visit if you're in the area it's well worth the visit 😉. Great staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Google
Love it here. Their produce is very reasonably priced. Cheaper than some local grocery stores…

Patrick

Google
Awesome place. Great prices on fresh produce and friendly staff.

Google
A nice place to stop and shop when you want local and not deal with the massive size of a supermarket. Best flower selection

Julianne B.

Google
I found this gorgeous, 6 ft tall lilac bush. I was able to ask someone questions about taking care of it, which was great. However, I’m giving this place three stars because no one helped or even offered to help me move it into my car. Also no one offered me plastic wrap or boxes to help transport it. I had to chase down the packaging myself. I was there, by myself, trying to maneuver this 6 ft tall plant and prevent it from falling over.

Melissa W.

Google
HUGE selection of pumpkins at really reasonable prices. And a great selection of mums, too. Plus apple cider donuts!

JA C.

Yelp
This is our 4th year ----Had to send this pix.... these were GREAT --like the vines around the flowers.... and the selection is the BEST... when I go I like to walk around and see all the flowers.... of course it is like this for Spring, Summer, Fall .. they have a vast selection and quality and priced right ... See you fall for Mums...

Yelp
Great green house Superb baked goods Excellent fresh produce Friendly service worth a road trip

Ari M.

Yelp
Nice collection of flowers and veggie plants. Our to go place in Summer and Fall. Business hours are also better compared to other nurseries.

Yelp
Yummy squash! Ripe tomatoes. Do you like ripe tomatoes?! I do!!!!! Good brussels sprouts. Yummy corn. But those ripe tomatoes?!?!... Are you kidding me?!! (Don't toy with my emotions like this!) They are -- chef's kiss! -- divine. Next level divine. Mwuah, mwuah, mwuah -- a zillion little chef's kisses!!! FOR THE TOMATOES!!!!!!
google avatar

Brenda L.

Yelp
Holy prices! $6 for a softball sized head of iceberg lettuce. $7 for a head of cauliflower. WTF!! The produce is decent but not worth the $$$.

Yelp
Back for return shopping! The farm stand marketplace was quite busy the Friday ( and I'm sure all weekend) before Mother's day. The outside area was tocked to the rafters with what looked like stunning arrangements of fresh cut flowers, any possibility of hanging plant - floral or not, succulents, and so on.... Entering the market I noticed several containers of what looked like varieties of the freshest berries. I picked out some strawberries and blackberries. Then moved onto a mango display... When I lived overseas, the type of mango most common was called an Apple Mango because the skin was partly green with flushes of red. Im not sure what they are called in the USA...but anyway, it appears to be the most common & they had a great selection. How could I refuse! Being the "spinach-a- holic " that I am, I like buying fresh baby spinach leaves here. It's always fresh and they apparently bag their own. So you can purchase as small or larger a bag as needed. I picked up exactly the amount I needed . My next stop was the fresh tomato tables..... There are so many varieties. I usually choose a colorful assortment of grape size. Yes, they had exactly the right type and size package. I wasn't in the market for too much else. But the bakery items always look good. They have so many other great things if what you're looking for. The store seems to be just the right size - not too vast. Social distancing is enforced and it's apparent that they follow all covid guidelines, making it a safe place to shop!

Yelp
Good selection of fruits and vegetables. Love their bags of meat. Everyone is always helpful and friendly.

Beth F.

Yelp
Excellent produce, better than any supermarket I have nearby, worth the drive out of the city just for the produce alone but the plant and flower selection for all seasons/holidays is also excellent!

Yelp
I loved this place! Perfect spot to stop in October! Soooooo many unique pumpkins. Amazing hot donuts and apple cider. They have a big market with fresh produce and meat. Will definitely stop back here if ever in the are!
google avatar

Davey B.

Yelp
My boys just started at a local school and I found this fabulous Farm Stand. It's my new favorite place! The corn bread and the chop suey (if you can get it!) make a delicious and easy dinner!
google avatar

Sheri G.

Yelp
Love this place, friendly, wonderful selection of fresh produce and speciality goods.

Karen K.

Yelp
OMG...this is the single best place to purchase all produce and then, all plants during spring and summer. Don't consider other places...make this your 1st stop and you won't be sorry. Quality of produce is exceptional as are their baked goods.

Jane C.

Yelp
Fruit and vegetables are fresh and delicious however check your receipts. Overcharges on sale items every time we go. Manager blames it on new crew. Once in a while is a honest mistake but we shop there every week and errors every week. May have to return to Market Basket.
google avatar

Bridget H.

Yelp
Tom was the sweetest man. I came in at closing he let me in and guided me around the plants for ten minutes to show me different arrangements. Then he ensured I had everything and got me more items in the back (since they were already put away) to make dinner! Just made my Friday so lucky to have a rockstar like him!

M B.

Yelp
Gorgeous selection of healthy large plants for a decent price. Got a large hanging basket of fuschia for under 20 bucks
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
Took my first trip to Calareso's today and was quite impressed, especially with the selection of flowers and other plants in the garden section. I did not buy any plants on this visit so I cannot speak to their quality, but I did buy a bunch of fruit and veggies inside and was very happy with what they had to offer. Would love to know where the produce is sourced from and see an organic selection but otherwise I'm very excited to have these guys in my new hood!

Mr T.

Yelp
I live in the area and have been going here for years to buy my fruit. Just recently I bought two watermelons to bring to a party. The host cut it and thought it was a little mushy but put it out anyway. The guests took some and replied, " this is bad". I was so embarrassed, I will not buy here again. The next day I went back and spoke to a young manager who said it happens all the time. He did not offer me a refund or anything, which if he gave me I would have put in the offering box at church. Customers are the backbone of any business and they lost this customer because I will never go back again!!! STAY AWAY !!! for the prices they charge you would think your guaranteed to get good fresh products, however, they could care less!!!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
If you're looking to get a Christmas tree, this is the place. All the tree's are lined up and and placed so you can see how it would look in a stand. Steller costumer service and comparable pricing to anywhere else. We will be back every year from now on
google avatar

Molly B.

Yelp
Do NOT buy your Christmas tree here. It's worth it to just cut it down yourself. The trees looked great but first red flag, I shoulda known, was that they weren't kept in water at all. When we brought it home and set it up it drank hardly anything, even with hot hot water it only sucked up about half the water in about 2 days. Usually I'm filling the water twice a day with trees we cut down ourselves. Because it was already dead, it's shedding needles like crazy and the branches are so weak that it can barely hold up the lights, forget about the ornaments. None of the heavier ones made it up this year sadly. The beads we put on only lasted a day because the branches droop so much they just slid right off. Very frustrated this looked like a nice place :(
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
The selection of veggies is great, prices are decent. Good marinated meats, poor prepared salads; all of them..pasta, potato, etc etc are literally swimming in dressing. They would be quite good otherwise but are just inedible as prepared.

Yelp
I think if Calareso's and I were on a first date together in high school, I'd be scribbling 'Lesley Calareso' in my notebook all day the next day. WOW. Love at first sight? I think so. I've driven by so many times on my way to Bagel World or other Route 28 specialties. Kept meaning to stop and see what it was but didn't remember to until today and I am so glad I did. I'd seen pumpkins and flowers outside and such and had no idea that there was a little market inside. I often go to the Wagon Wheel farm stand in Lexington to get high quality produce and now I am so glad that I know this is here and closer to where I live! The produce selection is plentiful and so fresh, and the prices are amazing. I didn't think it was expensive at all. For the quality, I actually thought quite the opposite. Maybe you can get your broccoli crowns for a few cents less at Market Basket, but they will also not be nearly as fresh/delicious, and you'll be stuck swatting away screaming children, battling your way through a shopping cart labyrinth before attempting to escape the parking lot without getting smashed by a Buick. The experience at this farm stand alone is worth any slight discrepancy in price elsewhere (though I really felt like things were even less than average grocery store prices). I can't wait to go back here again and again!! And I know I can stock up on sugar pumpkins to make pies. Yay!
google avatar

Lynne S.

Yelp
Calareso's Farm Stand is a little deceiving as they sell way more than just fruits and vegetables. It's an amazing little place right off Rte. 95 in Reading that sells everything from plants and flowers to locally grown cheeses, olives and spreads, to pre-marinated meats, to of course fresh fruits and vegetables. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention their amazing bakery selection as well. They have the best chocolate chip cookies around and I can't leave without picking one up for the ride home! The selection is great and they often have terrific specials on whatever is in season at the time. I usually make a special trip here after hitting the grocery store for the essentials. It's fabulous!
google avatar

Stacy G.

Yelp
The best thing Calaresso's has going for it lately is its flowers. They are reasonably priced and they last. We used to swear by their produce, but lately it has not been holding up as well. Prices are still reasonable, which is always a plus. My biggest gripe is the wafting and pervasive smell of their new cider donuts that they now fry in the middle of the store. You walk out stinking like fried donuts, and the oil smell has also permeated all of their paper bags. It is rather gross. Maybe move the fryer to a back room because it is not an appealing scent to have lingering in your clothes and wafting over all of your produce!
google avatar

Jack M.

Yelp
$1 per box of strawberries? And not even bad ones: They're HUGE and DEEP RED and WICKED GOOD! ~ You can get an enormous bunch of fresh basil for $2. TWO BUCKS. ~ Quality over quanitiy here, folks. Everything we've had from here is simply amazing. You won't find a ton of selection, but what you will find is of a higher quality than anything else around. ~ The world needs more places like Calareso's.
google avatar

Courtney N.

Yelp
Calareso's Farm Stand is on par with most smaller farm stands around the area. I don't feel like they have a niche item or too big of a selection, but they have fresh fruits and veggies, plus some appealing breads and bakery items. I only stop in if I'm stopping at Harrow's to get a chicken pot pie. The prices are pretty high for a farm stand. You can find better bargains in the super market for things like bananas and oranges. The breads, meats, and pastries are all pricey too. They sell an assortment of coffees, with very interesting flavors, however, I've bought 2 bags and never enjoyed it. Just not a strong enough flavor. Again, not bad but not super. Staff is nice, lines can get on the long side depending on the day. Selection is nothing spectacular. It's your basic, small farm stand. Definitely give it a chance, but don't go in expecting to be blown away by the cool selection or great prices.

Maximus H.

Yelp
I've been a huge fan of Calareso's for almost ten years. Better produce then you can find at Stop and Shop or Market Basket. But since they moved to their new larger location, it has gone down hill. Most of the produce is now on par with what you would find in a regular grocery store. But, expect to pay much more for it. The only exception is lettuce and herbs which are always very reasonable. Produce selection is often hit or miss and I almost always find I walk in with a list of 10 items I need to make dinner and I walk out with only 8 items. If you are looking for a farm stand or grocery store with great produce, breads, prepared foods etc. I would recommend Mann Orchard, Wilson Farms or Wegmans.

Angelina R.

Yelp
I will never go to this store anymore. They have discriminations. I didn't have the bad attitude to them until After I got bad feelings two times from them. The first time was I went to look for a part time job. My husband had recommended. He said people should be more open-minded there. Unfortunately it was not. When I was talking to the young manager, he even didn't think a second, and just rejected me right way. Then I looked around store, there are all white workers. The second time was I shopping there. I had to ask a worker a question. He answered me right away with a tune like: how reluctant to see me there. After these two experiences, I told myself: I'm much more lofty than these people why I go to a vulgar place to sick myself.
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
My wish for Calareso's is for them to carry some organic vege's and fruits (as another reviewer noted) If they did I would never have to head to drive out of my way to get organic produce. The produce they do carry is always fresh and inviting just not organic. (The near by big grocers have horrible organic produce that comes in this plastic Styrofoam prepackaged nightmare) Back to Calareso's - This place has saved me many times as it has all the fixings for a quick get together. Decent offering of cheese, bread, crackers, olives, little pre made stuff, yummy desserts and flowers to top it off! The staff is mainly teenagers but they are the most polite teenagers and they at least give off the impression they care about what they are doing. It is a little pricey, but the convenience is there and I am all for the no chain support. overall good stuff.

Allysha E.

Yelp
Flowers. Plants. Fruit. Veggies. Meats. Baked goods. You'll find it all here! This is my favorite place to buy our pumpkins each Halloween and their apple cider donuts are delicious. You have to try them!
google avatar

Kat H.

Yelp
I go there twice a week! The fruits and veggies always looks beautiful. They taste great and it is worth spending a dollar more. My kids rave about strawberries - they're crispy and it doesn't get moldy that quick. The cupcakes melts in your mouth. Its really good. The place is so huge, but seems half empty? The ceiling is super high and its really a waste of cooling/heating bill. Love the plant nursery - seasonal flowers are amazing.
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
I love that this farm/fruit/flower stand is open year-round. Produce prices are much lower than the supermarkets during the winter but aren't as discounted in the summer. That's okay though - the bakery section usually balances that out and makes it worth your stop anyway. For the most part the staff persons here are rather friendly and helpful. Quick dinner options: Prince's individual pizzas (grill up some veggies for toppings to spice up the otherwise boring cheese pizzaness), assorted marinated meats (chicken, steak tips, etc...), meat balls in tomato sauce. And of course the salad mixes aren't too shabby either!
google avatar

Joanne G.

Yelp
This place just recently got HUGE'r...they built a larger "farmstand" almost right next door with ample parking for all. I do like this place but when you walk in, it feels ...empty. Like they forgot to finish filling it with stuff. Sometimes I get a great deal here, sometimes their monkey bread is awesome and just recently, sadly, I had some of their ready-made salads (crab salad) and was completely disappointed. Basically what I am saying is that I didn't ever make a special trip here unless I was close by and wanted something quick to bring to a friend's gathering. Nice people tho.

C N.

Yelp
really nice big store fresh produce, fresh mozzarella, pizza dough, richardson's ice cream and milk. nice plants, also some grocery items. pleasant experience.
google avatar

Caroline S.

Yelp
Tried out this farmstand after reading reviews on yelp. Really nice selection and great prices. The location is really easy to get to and the space is big and clean. Unfortunately, the blackberries that I bought had mold on them within a day, so that was a bit disappointing. I would, however, give it another shot because the prices were so decent.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
They always have something on special. Look for what is more or less in season. I just bought a quart of the most gorgeous blackberries I've ever seen for $2.99! They just introduced an organic line but I haven't tried many of those items yet. Their ready-made meals are tasty and much cheaper than eating out. This is a great place to go if you're looking for a last-minute meal, or if you need something to bring to a gathering. Calareso's is our go-to for produce, breads, seasonal decor, and quick dinners.

Jeannine E.

Yelp
I would love to rate it five stars as we love the veggies, meat and bakery items but beware if you have more than a few items(cart full), you have to bag them yourself to keep it moving. Two weeks ago, we spent over $300 and hubby had to bag. We went back today and instead of helping our cashier bag, one of the workers opened a register next to where we were to help someone with two items so hubby had to bag again. Yet, another register opened and had a bagger instead of trying to help us bag what we bought. I bet we spent more than anyone else that was in the four lines put together. We love Wilson Farm in Lexington, too, so maybe it is time to drive a little further from the North Shore and go back there where they KNOW what CUSTOMER SERVICE is! P.S. - I did ask the cashier if there was a manager on duty and she said there were two. I wonder what they were doing.....:-/

Leila Z.

Yelp
I love Calaresos. The quality of the produce is great and their prices are comparable to market basket. Their organic options are definitely slimmer and their gourmet items are more expensive but that's not surprising. I also love their flowers and their nursery items. I almost always get my outdoor flowers/plants from them. Service is always kind and helpful.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Love that I live right near Calareso's makes life so easy. For a quick shop/ essentials it's perfect. Always running in to get stuff for dinner that same night. Really fresh fruits and vegetables.

Christine G.

Yelp
Bought hanging plant ($19.98) - Two days later it died - I brought plant back with my receipt and asked to exchange it for another plant (I didn't even ask for $$ back, just another plant) - I was told by an employee "absolutely NOT!" A customer who was walking by heard my story, saw the plant and heard the rude response and said to me "now that's POOR business" - I totally agree. I've been a year round customer BUT will now go elsewhere!
google avatar

Liza M.

Yelp
I wish they had organic fruit and veggie offerings. I am not quite sure where they get all their stuff from. various places, I'd imagine. But nevertheless the quality is always top notch. I absolutely love their breads. especially the sourdough which always goes fast. it is fresh, all natural, with only about 5 ingredients. it is so delicious! they always have great fruit, herbs and salad lettuces. also a nice selection of cheeses and items for an appetizer spread. yummy cookies and desserts. great selection of fresh flowers. every season brings something different. I've gotten great pumpkins, Christmas trees, summer veggie seedlings, potting soil, you name it! the staff is super nice too!! their customer appreciation weekend is every April and it is a madhouse. tons of free samples, pony rides for the kids, reptile show, and special discounts.

Lisa S.

Yelp
I love this place! It smells great too :) I never buy my produce at the grocery store anymore after having discovered Calareso's. I find myself going in to buy some fruit and having to pull myself away from their baked goods section! Their fresh -daily baked bread is wonderful and very affordable. The monkey bread is also great. They also have a very nice selection of flowers and plants.
google avatar

Jane B.

Yelp
After moving away from Russo's, I've been looking for something similar in my new 'hood. Calareso's is no where near as large or as assorted as Russo's but, the prices are about the same, as is the quality of produce. Looking forward to more trips here to get a full effect - and you'll be sure to see an update when they open up their garden center in the spring. Today I scored a fresh pineapple for $2.99, a pint of blueberries for $3.99, 2 packages of strawberries for $5, as well as broccolini, gorgeous tomatoes, monkey bread, avocado (haven't seen them for this cheap in ages! 89 cents each), and other assorted goodies.
google avatar

Christie L.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times since moving to Reading and I absolutely love it! I'm all about farmers markets so I was really excited to see this so close to my house. They have anything I could ever need in the way of fruits and vegetables and tons of extras from dips and salad dressings to dough to make your own pizza from scratch. I love their homemade pastries and breads and they carry great sirloin tips! I plan to come here for all of my produce in the future!

Alex O.

Yelp
This place has all your flower needs and more. Inside they have a fresh selection of produce and the flowers are outside under an awning. Not too large of a space, but certainly not small. Neat experience going here and do recommend it!
google avatar

Me B. M.

Yelp
All I buy at Calareso's is produce, so that is all I am rating. Can be a tad overpriced at times, but quality and service are both excellent.

Lorraine T.

Yelp
I went to Calareso's today for the first time....and the LAST time. First of all, the kid who was filling up the corn bin couldn't answer a simple question about the corn. But the thing that REALLY upset me, is that Calareso's DOES NOT SUPPORT OUR MILITARY. For that reason, I will NEVER shop there again.

Julie S.

Yelp
I love this place! Very calm & relaxing place to do my grocery shopping. It has all the things you need without too much distraction from all the things you don't need. The produce here is perfect and delicious. The fact that I can get all my needs met here without filling my carriage w/ junk food & miscellaneous items really helps keep the weekly bills down. Great flowers and seasonal decor as well. The only negative is that it sometimes closes too early for me. I'm a late-night shopper sometimes -- but I miss this place when I can't make it here in time. The produce at nearby places doesn't compare!
google avatar

Kyle D.

Yelp
This market has the highest quality and freshest fruits and vegetables. The other supermarkets in the area do not compare to this place. I regularly shop here.
