Tokyo and Carlos were awesome, both most definitely worth my tips. Great service, great food. Everything was perfect. Cozy outdoor seating with heaters, and a great spot for groups or solo outings. I’ll be back!

I dont know what's going on with Cali! Lately.. it used to be a great spot to watch the games and for the food and it use to be crowded. I showed up on a Sunday, and there were only two tables with customers. We sat down and order our food through the table app and for some reason, the kitchen lost power and lost our orders. We sat for about a hour before we inquire. The owner eventually came out and apologized, gave us free drinks, and gift cards. The only female server in the restaurant, she did great job accommodating the situation. The food was ok, they didn't have the pineapple bowl dish. But overall, its great place, but there business is falling off for whatever reason.

Was a perfect date night for me & my husband. The servers were super nice & attentive. Good atmosphere. The wings were fire!!! The cheese fries were delicious!

Being a California native I Came in on a Saturday around 2pm, and place was not busy at all. Waitress was nice and greeted us, she served as a host, waitress and bartender (Congrats). They were out of a few alcoholic beverages. (Titos, Don Julio) we ordered Garlic noodles and shrimp. Took about 40 minutes for our food to be served for it to be empty and only 3 customers but food was good. (Mention maybe Hold the butter if you don’t want too much) Had the games on TV but none of the table games were available to play. (Dominoes missing pieces) I was told on my visit “this is black owned so we be out of stuff”. Overall, wasn’t worth the hype but a good day time date place if you’re in the area.

undisclosed “mixed drink charge” was surprising and did not make sense. Server was friendly but to arrive during happy hour ( 7:29pm ) and receive no specials in two basic drinks made me go elsewhere

I will start by saying our server Tokyo was phenomenal, she was attentive and bubbly. Unfortunatly, that was the only positive. It was evident early on into dinner that the place is being managed poorly. The bathrooms were disgusting. Of the 4 stalls, only one had toilet paper available and it was not the one toilet clean enough to use. For reference when I arrived there were only 2 other customers in the establishment, so for the bathroom to be in such a disarray was jarring and unexpected. Food ordered concurrently came out at vastly different times, we were told several times it would be right out, only for 20-30 mins to go by before receiving the same update again. When 2 of the group finally got their food, at nearly the 2 hour mark, we asked to speak to the manager. Tokyo goes and speaks to the owner and comes back to the table and informs us that the owner is offereing a free drink to each of the diners that waited almost 2 hours for their food or 10% off of their meals. As Tokyo is offering these options, the owner Ashley comes up behind her and clarifies that she is offering both a complimentary drink and 10% off the meal for them. When one of the diners asked if there was something more she could do, perhaps comp the meals for the wait, Ashley became very combative and rude with the group, even going so far as to say, "this isn't McDonald's babe" in response to comments about the wait times. Wildly unprofessional and very unexpected. I wasn't even going to write a review until I saw how unprofessional the owner responded to other reviews that were left. To add insult to injury, the owner wrote 1 response, then copied and pasted it as a rebuttal to any negative (true) reviews that were left. The same one I'm sure will be left under this review as well.

We decided to try Cali Kitchen out for the first time. I got the "Feeling Myself Bacon Ranch Chicken Sandwich" and it was absolutely delicious! As were the Cali Fries. The presentation was great, as well. My husband got the Chicken Cali Fried Rice. He said it was amazing. I did try a bite and it was very good! We also went on Thursday which is their $5 pork chop day. We each got one to try. We chose fried over grilled. They let you choose between no sauce at all or you can add a wing sauce. I got mine with the Sweet Heat and my husband chose the Hennessy Bourbon Sauce. They were both very delicious. 🤤 Also, we both got the Liquid Marijuana beverage. Yum! Our Server Destiny was delightful! She went along with our corny jokes and was very attentive and informative understanding it was our first time. 😁 And to top it all off, they have this super cool Expo Robot. It plays music which goes along with the overall vibe/ambience/theme of the restaurant. One of the best experiences we've had trying out a new place in a long time!

The food and drinks here are out of this world. We started with the marijuana drink (not really marijuana) and some gummy bear shots, AMAZING‼️‼️‼️ we got some glazed shrimp as an appetizer. Be prepared for a mouthgasm. Finished off with a rich girl po boy , the fried salmon plate and some more gummy bear shots, HEAVENLY. 😍 this was a wonderful experience and the food is absolutely amazing. Your food comes to you on a cool robot enhancing the experience . NADIA IS NICE , helped us with the menu , took good care of us and did her da.mn thing with those drinks‼️‼️‼️ this is one of my favorite food spots‼️ trust me you will not be disappointed ‼️‼️‼️

This business has the best events the best food. Best place to go for different anniversaries and birthdays and holidays they give back a lot to the community. Keep going until you try all the different food and drinks you won't be dissatisfied.

My experience at Cali HTX was decent. At first, I was thrown off because my husband and I walked in, and it would over 5 minutes for us to be acknowledged. That definitely rubbed me the wrong way. But once we were greeted and sat, things got better. There weren't many people in the restaurant, but it was still a vibe. The music was good. Our server was knowledgeable. All of our food was really good as well.

Was in Houston visiting. The fam took me to this place and I recognized it from instagram. I really wanted to try it. This place is niiiice. The decor is perfect. Love the paintings and pictures on the walls. The owner was super cool with us and showed us mad love. Super nice person. The food was bomb too. The portions are enough to get you full for sure. The seasoning is perfect. There are a lot of tvs in this place so you wont have any problems watching games. Theres a bar also, if your a drink type person. In the back patio there is a hookah area. This place is the best spot to come hang, meet people, eat good food and have a good time. Keep up the great work. When Im back in Houston, for sure come back.

This place is right up my alley! Cali Alley. The food is amazing!! Awesome soul food that's so hard to find, incredible vibrant atmosphere with West Coast music to move your hips too all night. Incredible waitresses that are so polite and attentive. Great drinks, what more can you ask for. I've tried so many things as I've been here a few times and since it reminds me of my Cali home, I decided to have my birthday party here. Everything was easy, flowed great, everyone had a great time! You can bring your own cake. They play birthday songs for you and flash happy birthday on the TV screens. They add a firework to your cake for extra fun! Loaded potatoes with grilled salmon excellent Loaded potatoes with chicken - all the seasoning you've ever wanted! Fried salmon!! Yessss, give .e more please Crab legs, YES please Fried shrimp okayyy!! You can't go wrong for a great time in this place. Please help our local private owned businesses stay alive by supporting anytime you can. We need this one to stay around.

We stopped in on a Tuesday night to check it out. I'm originally from Cali so our H-Town friends were excited to have us try this place. It's a cool place but there is a lot of room for improvement. First it's extremely loud. It was R&B night, the singers were good but it was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think let alone have a conversation with anyone. One of the biggest draw backs is the fact that you order and pay and are asked to tip before you get your food. The food left a lot to be desired and in my opinion is over priced. The fried rice pictured is $15 and you pay an extra $7 for meat. $22 for fried rice is insane! The food wasn't flavorful at all. The descriptions of the food don't match what you actually get. As a native Californian I'm disappointed that this is the H-town representation of my home state.

This really deserves a -000 star. Don't visit this place unless you are under the age of 22, like slow service, under seasoned food, and having to order and pay through the website. My first time here was my last. The waitresses are young. They get upset if you ask them where is your food and where are your drinks. The manager is unprofessional and very aggressive. We asked her to come to our table and she refused. We had to walk to her. Oh and the food is more expensive than Pappadeauxs for what you get. Don't waste your time if you a professional, looking for a good vibe, want good food, don't want to get robbed in the parking lot, or want good service. My $50 on an appetizer and two drinks could have been better spent. Black owned businesses do better.

Food- Good! Mac and cheese with Cajun seasoning chicken... the Wings as well Drinks- I don't get the specialty drinks but my Go-To Green Tea shots are the TRUTH! Good vibes & service is on point! Food was great. Service was good. The experience was .... Different. The dishes are large enough to share. The online menu was ok; but online ordering and robot cart delivery leaves you asking why tip? The ladies are beautiful and nice. They did seat us and transfer the food from cart to table. But being required to log in; set up an account to order and pay just took away some of the experience. But the plastic utensils for a $50 meal will be why I and giving 3 stars.

While visiting family we decided to visit Cali Kitchen. Once arriving it was very quiet but the night was still early. The waiter came out right away took our drink order and gave suggestions. Being from Cali the owner(Ashley) came over and spoke with us. She was very welcoming, pleasant to speak with. She even gave us a drink on the house which was a 15/10. Definitely will be my go to. Overall everything was absolutely great we all left full and happy. I have my eye on the pineapple bowl next go round.

Second time coming here. This review is from the recent second time. The staff just seems like they don't wanna be there lol. Our waitress wasn't helpful AT ALL. Asked her questions about the menu and she just shrugged her shoulders. Ok girl. Got the crab and shrimp garlic noodles. I was kinda upset that the crabs wasn't just crab meat, it was actually clusters of crab. Overall, it was ok. The ambiance was cool. We was looking to watch the game which they have a lot of tvs. Only downside is, is that they play music while the game is on. I prefer the TV commentary. Parking is plenty. You don't have to worry about having to pay to park.

Food was absolutely amazing it was hot and very fresh our server was super sweet and the owner Ashlee was going to every table making sure everything was good. I'll definitely go back and recommend you check them out as well.

Came here on a girls night out. We had a good time. The vibes where nice and the service was good as well. I tried a few different menu options and I'll let you know my favs in the pics. The place is huge and can accommodate parties of all sizes. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It's decked out in Cali decor which I love! The bucket drinks are a must! They have plenty of parking on site as well.

Decent concept on a theme. The food was cool. I had shrimp and wings, and it was seasoned and cooked well. I enjoyed the Hennessey sauce. Grits were they had good consistency but needed more flavor. Slightly pricey menu, in my opinion, for brunch. I did enjoy that it had plenty of free parking and a good amount of seating options. It wasn't too crowded, and the service was decent. I'm giving it 3 stars because they charge for sauce when you get wings and they ran out of a few things we ordered and we didn't find out until 20+ minutes later that something was out for the day.

I was super excited to get to this LA themed restaurant and they did an excellent job. The hostess were very friendly and helpful. My friends and I came in for Sunday Brunch. It was five of us seated in a section, the AC was dripping into the chair so they quickly reseated us in another section. Great CS. We started off with mimosas; pineapple and strawberry lemonade They bring your food in on these cool little robotic servers I got the grilled lamb chops and eggs with their bourbon honey sauce on the side. Let me tell you I almost forgot about the sauce they didn't need it. But oh when I put it on it elevated the taste even more. I also got the shrimp and fries to share. The shrimp were a good size. Both were seasoned to perfection. No one had a complaint about the food or service. I'm an LA native so this was definitely a vibe. I'll be back for sure. I think my waitress name was Cali

First time out in Houston from Inglewood, CA. Loved the vibe here. Food and drinks were great. Service was great. Music was on point. The owner was real koo and personable with us. I'll definitely be back next time i visit H Town

I can't even rate how great this establishment is! This was my first time and EVERYTHING about it was amazing. Ashely (co-owner) is so personable! She felt like family! Every dished order was delicious!! I will definitely be returning

I want to try everything on the menu after eating the "DEADLIEST PINEAPPLE BOWL" The service was amazing. The owner made sure we were ok. Actually recommended the dish I had. It's one of her favs now, mine. The ambiance, the R&B music, and playing uno with JUMBO cards was a whole Vibe!!! I will be going back

This was my second time here and i will say hands down they have most definitely come a long way and i love what they have done with the establishment. You can order your food at a kiosk to go and pick it up at the host stand they text you a link where you can see what place you are in line, loved it. The drinks were drinking me very strong and delicious ! Now the food came out fresh and literally steaming hot i would most definitely recommend. And of course by the name you know the theme if you want to feel like home away from home go to Cali's for a true LA experience with the great environment and decor.

The service was so bad we didn't even stay to try the food. From the moment we walked in the hostess was rude and didn't seem like she wanted to deal with us. But what really put the nail in the coffin was when my male counterpart asked the male bartender if he could make a drink with tequila instead of their usual Hennessy/Vodka not only did he look annoyed he actually expressed how much he hated when people did that. His exact words were "let me see if she (the female bartender) could make you one cause I hate when ppl do that...." Then he tried to take it back by saying "not saying your guys but...." When I tell you I literally lost my appetite after this. My partner got a drink made from the female bartender who was really nice btw, thank you for that! As soon as he was done with his drink we left and found a more welcoming environment for dinner.

As a native Californian who is proud of these business owners for opening up such a beautiful restaurant, I wanted to give Cali Kitchen & Bar a higher rating, I really did... But I've visited twice and I simply can't go higher than a 3 right now. Allow me to explain why: FOOD: Decent, unhealthy eats that are good cheat meals and great for hanging with friends. I don't even remember what I ordered the first time but I remember it wasn't bad just not amazing. Yesterday I got the garlic noodles with shrimp and crab for like $40 and unfortunately they tasted like straight teriyaki sauce. A highlight is that they have koolaid on the menu which I for sure remember loving but they were out of that yesterday so i had to settle for ordering a $6 lemonade. The lemonade was not good. I ordered a peach/strawberry lemonade based off the photos I saw on the self-serve kiosk only to be given a cup with like red syrup mixed in. The photos had actual fruit in the lemonade and I was told while my drink was being given to me that they didn't have peach flavor. I wish i had just saved my $6 for a smoothie elsewhere because the lemonade had no signs of real fruit being used anywhere in the process. DRINKS: Alcoholic drinks are cool from what i remember. They usually have more than one frozen drink flavor in the machine, yesterday it was just one. They put yummy candy in some of their signature drinks and I love that. AMBIENCE: This place is ideal for going out and having drinks/ vibing with friends. The music is good, they have games and even hookah if you're into that. SERVICE: The first time i came, we had a waitress and food came in a timely manner. Only thing that sucked was people being able to smoke hookah right next to our food. Now yesterday, my friends chose to sit in the "self-serve" section so they wouldn't have to wait for a table. This section is where you get your food after paying for it on a kiosk. This would be cool if servers checked on you at least once or twice while you're eating but they do not. You have to get up and order your own drinks at the bar, go get your own to-go boxes, etc. It's really self-service but I still tipped so I wasn't a fan of having to get up so much. The staff I communicated with was really nice though. The last thing I'll say is that the restaurant clearly invested in a California aesthetic and it deserves to be busier than it's been both times I've visited. I think the location (not near much else entertainment) is the issue but it's really not super far so I wish more people made the trip. That way, they'd be able to have servers working in sections and have folks turning up as I'm sure the owners intended. Would I visit again? Yes but only if friends invited me. It wouldn't be at the top of my mind especially since I feel like I wasted $50 yesterday.

It's my second time eating at this restaurant and I must say I love the CALI'S kitchen environment that it gives, the service was pleasing and I really enjoyed myself . The Music + the amazing fresh food, all great and the signature drink I loved is "The Marathon". I'll be back with friends for the wings and up and coming events !

Came here on a Sunday night. Atmosphere is cool but the service is lacking. I ended up canceling one of my drinks because it took too long and was half frozen anyways. Food took an incredibly long time to come out and it was not busy at all....service just needs to improve.

I made a 2pm reservation online. When I entered, I expected a wait. Fortunately, we were greeted by one of the owners who informed me that large parties were in the way but she'd seat us now to avoid the rush. The great service continued from our waitress. She was sweet and recommended these Hennessy Bourbon wings that were freaking amazing! To say the food was good is an understatement! We ordered "The Shaw" which was a platter of wings, shrimp, and fries. Really good food! The shrimp reminded me of back home. (Louisiana folks love seasoned seafood.) IYKYK The ambiance was definitely a vibe! Very laid back and comfortable enough to enjoy the game! They are still in the soft opening phase which any real business owner knows is a time period of training, trials, and errors. But, what I witnessed today was attentive management and servers. The food was a little wait but EVERYTHING was hot and fresh! I don't mind waiting for good food. The drinks were also amazing! Price wise: it's typical Houston brunch prices but if you aren't cooking at home, you already know what time it is. Food: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Service: 5/5

My wife and I came one night after seeing them on instagram. When we arrived we were seated and it is a very large place. There is a patio on one end with a DJ and hookah service. I did see hookah in the main service area of the restaurant tho. We ordered salmon bites and fried shrimp and both came with fries. The waitress told us up front that it may be @35 minutes as the kitchen was backed up and we were fine with that. Our waitress, Briana took our drink order and returned pretty quickly with them. I had a Hennessy type drink which was just ok. After about 20-25 minutes our food arrived. My shrimp was very good and I got a dozen and the fries had a Cajun type flavor and were very good also. My wife enjoyed her salmon bites. There was loud music but we were still able to have conversations and there were numerous TVs. It is more like a sports bar than a restaurant but a place where you can enjoy watching sporting events. I would return to check out a game and more shrimp. Lol

Saw this on TikTok. Love the Cali look & design through out the restaurant. Now as far as the food. They only had the brunch menu and did not have the full menu until 6. We arrived there around 3. It wasn't that packed but the wait time was 45 minutes. The food is mediocre and highly priced. They were playing 2 different songs at the same time. The music they were playing inside the restaurant was too loud that you couldn't have a conversation. The service was super slow. They have a patio that had a DJ and you could smoke hookah. This place was more of a lounge than restaurant. If you want a good time with drinks & hookah then this is the spot for you. If you are coming here for good food and customer service just pass this place up. Don't think I will come back here.

I dined here on Saturday, this place had a nice vibe and good music. But the food and service were not great. I had the Byrd with macaroni and it was all bad. The hen was dry and the macaroni was salty. I did advise our waitress of this and she never acknowledged what I told her. So I didn't eat the meal and was not going to take it home because it was not good so I asked the waitress if she could take it off the table and she immediately said I can't take it off the bill. Which isn't what I asked her to do I wanted her to clear the table because she took everyone's plate except for mine. The side car drink was the only thing that was good. I won't be revisiting this place service is important to me.

Saw on TikTok before my trip. Did not disappoint - Food, Service, Environment was everything. Met one of the owners Ashley, she was professional, polite, courteous, and attentive made the dining experience enjoyable and fabulous. I worked the chicken & waffles it came with chicken STRIPS and there was an up charge for chicken wings ‍‍. I did the up charge for the wings and instead of serving 3 to 4 wings they gave me 5 pieces with no flavor. My daughter ordered the BBQ wings they gave her 6 wing pieces the Mac & Cheese needed more flavor. I'm from New Orleans but live in California for years and this wasn't IT at ALL! I can see the vibe being good at night with the games and hookah but during the day when you just want food and at drink it's a NO for me.

Went to Cali restaurant and bar in Houston Texas, total party 5. They wanted paid for dinner before we ordered it. Waited on drinks, when they came they tasted good. Dinner came. Only 4 of the 5 meals made it, one was missing a few items. They refunded the item they didn't have. 2 parties did like like their meal. No one asked how dinner was. About $250 for dinner and one round of drinks. Left review about experience. Response was they heard my party was rude and they hoped I'd enjoy dining elsewhere better. If you are in Houston looking for a place to eat and plan on dropping $250 I would suggest search other options.

The Buffalo cauliflower is a MUST. My cousin doesn't like cauliflower, she tried it and fell in love. The drinks were really good too. Not watered down at all. Met the owner and she was AMAZING. She kept checking on us as she walked by. She even stopped and talked to us for a while. I've never met an owner that invested and genuine. When I visit Houston again I'm definitely stopping by Cali Kitchen. Hopefully the owner's there

Terrible service, the food was so greasy there was liter a pool of grease in the plate. They do not honor the advertisements even though they have them playing on the screens throughout the restaurant. Finally the drinks were super price. I don't mind paying for a good drink with good service but $25 for a lemon drop and sucky service is outrageou!

Omg what can I say, nothing a Cali Thing... This was one of the absolute best places I've been to in a while which amazing service, FOOD, and DRINKS.. I have Zero complaints. we had a young lady who was a new waitress but she was awesome, she tried very hard to get everything we needed. The manager was a lady and she was Awesome as well. she constantly came to check on us and had a wonderful attitude.. I've need had Hennessy Bourbon Wings and Jerk wings that were that good... The garlic Noodles OMG were delicious... And the fried Shrimp And the frozen Drink with the candy was the Bomb as well. No complaints here, Me and my family and friends will definitely be back.. And not to forget the atmosphere was the Bomb, great music, games and VIBES.... Don't walk there RUN ‍.

Baby this is TRASH‼ Hell to the no no no. I'm in town for the weekend and trying out a few spots and this is the worst one for service and food, First of all the drink machine was down, so I ordered kool aid it was too too too sweet and nasty, how you mess up kool-aid then some of the menu items wasn't available. I ordered a flatbread pizza it was missing ingredients because they were out of peppers, The pizza turned out to be a box pizza that they just put extra toppings on and add more cheese, this was extremely nasty. I also order the fried rice with steak, this was horrendous. The rice was extra crunchy and dry with little to no seasoning, they had to have only soy sauce. The steak pieces were more like steak chips. They were extra crispy and dry as a bone. Then they make you pay first before your food comes (the nerve) They have a posted sign that say no refunds no substitutions. This is crazy. The food took almost 2 hours, ridiculous!!! But the club is nice if you only want to chill and smoke hookah you'll just be thirsty and hungry

Girl, just save your time. The wait alone was enough to leave (not packed at all) I ordered fried catfish bites took so long I had to immediately put it in a to go plate. Just to see when I got home the catfish still had ALL its skin on it!!! I can deal with a little but I'll just add a pic & you can tell for yourself

This place I believe is knew I didnt really have a bad time there. I think overall the service was amazing the staff were very friendly as well. The shrimp and grits need to be cooked in heavy whipping cream or some chicken stock sorry but it just taste like water.

Where do I start. I asked for a Don Julio NEAT NO ICE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOTTLE. The young lady brings be ā Don Julio shaken with ice. I tell her that this is not what I asked for, she comes back and tells me " this is what you asked for. She then gets the OWNER who apparently doesn't know what NEAT means when it comes to alcohol. She was the nastiest, rudest, most unprofessional business owner I've ever met. I just wanted a tequila NEAT and I didn't even get that, she refused to remake my drink. The food is horrible. It's either burnt or too salty. Do not waste your money nor your time. You'd do better going to chilis. Trust me

Ok service, food took a while to get to us, but once it did lol Wew baby it was banging. Atmosphere was great music was hitting. Again, you can come just for the food and be satisfied.

It was a disappointment. We were brought to our table and the server came by to get our drink order. We ordered three unsweetened teas. We were told that they did not serve tea, so we ordered sodas. The sodas had minimal ice and tasted over chlorinated. We asked for menus and were told we needed to scan a QR code. No problem....until it took 12 minutes for the link to open on an iphone 13. The menu is ambitious and the food was fairly good, but as ambitious as the menu is, the prices were even more ambitious. One problem was we were not checked on to see if we needed drink refills until we were almost done. There are multiple TV's around the building. The pictures were crisp and clear but all the TV's were on the same channel. All in all, I wish them luck, but things have to improve for long term success.

They played all west coast slaps which I loved the nostalgia. I ordered the pineapple bowl and it was too acidity for me. My tongue was tingling which made me stop eating it. The ambience was great. Definitely picture worthy. I would say the need better customer service, interacting with their customers. I don't know if I'd go again but it was great to see the west coast being represented in the South.

Food was rlly good and Kay is an excellent server would definitely recommend to people who have no problem with the loud music and an energetic vibe.

The food was great but the service was kinda bad. They took a while to wait the table but you know. Some times places have bad days maybe ‍
