Cali Tacos

We had a chicken rice bowl, chips and salsa and a pork Al pastor burrito. Everything was delicious! Very fresh food and was ready in no time, got our chips and salsa immediately and a couple minutes later the rest of our food was there. Friendly service with a small but adequate eating area. Can't wait to go back and try their other options.

Delicious shrimp tacos! Choices of shades were good. Guacamole was tasty. Customer service on phone for call in and in person was great! Small dining room. Highly recommended by coworkers and they were right!!

Cali Tacos has the most amazing food, their birria tacos are killer!! We just tried their new dish called Fajita Fiesta Pasta and WOW is it so freaking good. They always provide the highest quality meals at a great price. Customer service is consistently friendly and kind. I recommend the Cali burrito, Mexican pizza and really anything on the menu.

New customer! First time trying and I definitely will be back. The birria tacos were phenomenal. The atmosphere is definitely take out vibes which is totally cool and honestly makes for better food in my opinion. Sometimes when the restaurant needs tending to, I feel the food can lack. Not the case here!! Food was fabo.

Ordered lunch for my wife and myself. Our first time from this place. The food was great. I very much enjoyed my wet burrito additionally wife enjoyed her bowl as well. The portion was big enough that it was for lunch and dinner. We also received chips, salsa and a horchata. Just an fyi extra salsa has hella cilantro so if you do not like it. Don't order extra. We will order from them again.

I have no idea how this place is holding its rating so high. It's been going downhill for the past year. Prices keep getting higher and quality goes down. Today I bought fajitas $18.01. Hardly had any steak, just greasy peppers. Fatty chewy gristle on the steak and 2 pieces of bone in it that seriously had me think a filling fell out of a tooth broke..spit it out and my tooth was fine, just 2 hunks of bone attached to the strings of fatty meat. I don't think I'll ever go back because that's crazy expensive for what I got even if I didn't have chewy meat and bone in my meal. Photo is where I stopped eating after the bone incident.

The churros are delish and I Love the Mexican Pizza and Birria tacos... Will be back!!

I'm a local Google guide. I do NOT receive any incentives for my reviews. They're strictly based on my own Experience. Let's start with I'm a taco lover lol. I love to make birria atleast once a week during the winter months and will literally freeze the "broth" to add to everything. So it's hard to please me. Grub hub was a bit misleading it shows 3 tacos for 3.99. Too good to be true right? That's because it is lol. It's one for 3.99. But over all the few I bought were very good. They were on the dry side. But I smothered them in the salsa and that made it better. The hot salsa isn't really hot it's just some pepper seeds really. I definitely can't wait to try something a bit more. The tacos are the cheapest item and well I just wanted to try this place (for months!!!) The refried beans were really good. I don't like mine to be all mushy I wanna taste some pinto chunks so I know they're real lol. I really enjoyed them I dipped my tacos in them. The employees were very very lovely. I can't wait to go back for dinner and try the flautas😜 fyi 1.5 tacos filled me completely up for lunch. It reminds me of like Southern California Beach taco truck tastes. Which I guess is why it's called cali tacos lol I would recommend trying this place out for sure Sorry about the pictures i couldn't help but try before I snapped lol

First time ordering and it is pretty good. I love that they give an option for corn tortillas instead of flour.

Finally popped in this place for the first time a few days ago. My girlfriend had visited one time before and was really impressed by their food so we had to go back together to so I could try it. First off, the service at this place is GREAT. Since I had never been, I had to take the time to peruse the menu but one of the owners stepped in and explained everything to me. Super bubbly, helpful and you could genuinely tell she has a passion for this business. I ordered the Chorizo breakfast burrito which was very reasonably priced and very large. I love chorizo but it tends to be a bit greasy/oily but not from here. The meat was moist and flavorful without me having to burn through 800 napkins. The potatoes that are in it were both crispy and pillowy at the same time. The scrambled egg wasn't overcooked and gave the burrito a nice bouncy texture. Overall, I don't think I could praise a place more than this honestly. We ate inside and got to talk with the owners and hear their story. It truly is a great pleasure to have Cali Tacos in Saint Clair Shores. It's not every day you can find a place that is not only great tasting with quality ingredients, but owners that have passion that matches the food they serve. Cannot wait to go back ASAP!

Small little spot. 4 tables. Fast casual. It's taco Tuesday today. Do read there detailed menu as things are a little different here as far as execution and ingredients used for the tacos and flautas at least. Ordered 2 Mandarin Jarritos, 2 chicken tacos, chips and large guacamolea, chicken flautas, 2 chicken quesadillas. $46.64. Service was quick and easy. The ladies gave us a menu and one side with a description of what the menu items are in detail. In future I would only order the guacamole as a side and not the chips and guacamole, especially when the flautas and quesadillas all came with a bed of chips. Their chips are also all lightly salted. The quesadillas were listed on the menu with guacamole and sour cream, we received none on either orders. The quesadillas aren't bad, cheesy and the good cheesy too. The chicken was a tad sparse on a few pieces. The chicken tacos were with cilantro and onion and it had some Mexican shredded cheese on it, the cheese wasn't expected or desired, guess that's where looking at the menu description would have helped for us. So if you are not a fan of cheese, be sure to ask for it without cheese. The guacamole isn't bad. The large guacamole is a decent size. The hot salsa is fresh and it's got some really kick and bite to it, it's a good burn. The flautas here are also flour tortillas deep fried, they are slightly crispy but not the same crunch as a flauta made with a corn tortillas. The food menu is good here. The staff are all nice and friendly too. It's worth a visit.

What a surprise! This place is kind of unassuming and I wasn't expecting it to be much more than an independent Chipotle-style place. But they deliver on the Cali Tacos name! A great mix of authentic Mexican and Cali style. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are spot on. Our group all had street tacos. The meat was all spiced to perfection. In particular the Al Pastor and Carnitas were a hit. The vegetarian taco was great too. The salsas and chips were even great. Pricing was reasonable. We will definitely return.

Californian here. Unlike the other reviews that say this place tastes just like a taco joint in CA, I completely disagree. It is grossly overpriced. Portion sizes are small. The birria consumé is extremely salty and doesn't have much flavor. Al pastor was dry and flavorless. California burritos come with French fries. At first I didn't think there were any in the one we ordered because there were so few. The burrito was full of rice and beans and really nothing else. The salsa wasn't that great either. We ordered on DoorDash so I can't speak to the service or anything else really. One thing I will say is, it was delivered very quickly. One star for that but I wouldn't eat here again. Hugely disappointed.

A tiny, good place that serves pretty good Mexican style food. I wouldn't call it wholly authentic, but they have a decent menu and a wide array of sauces. The lady at the counter was very nice. She gave us extra sauces for our first time, gave us refills, and made sure we always had fresh chips. The only thing is that there is not much room to eat inside here if you wanted to.

Food is very good, we enjoy getting tacos and their taco pizza. Oh and floutas I think that's how you spell it. Very very good. Service is prompt. We usually order take out. From what I can tell it's very casual.

Do yourself a favor and get the chicken tortilla soup! It doesn't look like much - but believe me the FLAVOR is there. The steak nachos are really good. I normally order them for my dinner and have some leftover for the next day. My husband has been getting 3 corn tacos for the past months we have been going there. It usually fills him up with chips and salsa also. I noticed yesterday on their menu they added queso. I definitely want to try it next time we order a take out from here. BONUS - the owners are super sweet here. And every time we have placed a carry out order it's normally ready in 5-10 and is hot and fresh. One last comment - GET THEIR VERDE SAUCE. It's so delicious. Although I feel like it's changed in the past few weeks, not as salty, but it's still really good! I need to order a larger portion next time and keep some in the fridge.

My wife and I are visiting family in the area and woke up hankering for an awesome breakfast burrito. Well, lucky us for finding this little gem! Everything was fresh and homemade, and the owners were super friendly and helpful in getting our order just right. Pinto beans, guacamole, awesome variety of salsas, and the fluffy eggs and potatoes in the burritos were fantastic. It's a cute little place, bright and sunny! We will definitely be coming back to Cali Tacos.

The quesadillas are great, very cheesy. The churros are also very good. I tried the shredded beef enchiladas yesterday and they were very meaty. Next time I'll opt for extra cheese. We ordered via door dash and food was still hot and well packaged.

First time visiting Cali-taco and I ordered the steak burrito combo (recommended) with the spanish rice, onions, refried beans, cheese and cilantro and it was pretty good. Steak could have used a touch more seasoning, but not bad (I've had worse). Combo came with tortilla chips which were good, but too much salt on them (Not a big deal I just swiped off the extra salt) and a 20oz. pop. The pico de gallo that came with the chips was good and fresh. Tasted just like mine minus a bit of lime juice that I add to mine. I also got their hottest hot sauce and it was okay. It could have been a bit hotter (my opinion). I will be back in the near future to try out other items on their menu. This place is worth the visit and I gave 4 stars because I believe that there is always room for improvements.

Come on man, hair nets or a hat in a commercial kitchen is not an option. It's a state law and health code regulation. I know you have a box of hair nets in the kitchen because it's required by the health department, so why don't you know how to put it on? Do you need a special Ed class to learn how to follow food safety guidelines?

Not normally in this area, but we were down for the massive yard sales this weekend. We needed a place to fuel up after walking around and this was awesome! The staff was welcoming, the service was QUICK. They provided free chips and salsa if you ate in and we barely got a chance to eat a chip before our tacos came out. They were priced right and tasted great. They also had a good selection of salsas and hot sauces, but I personally didn't think you needed either. The restaurant itself is small, but it had a great vibe to it and we'll definitely be back to try more on the menu!

Went in here on a whim. Tired of the same fast food joints, saw the sign, figured it was worth a shot. The menu has a few different ways to order. It took my son and I a few minutes to understand it's kind of like a Chipotle or Qdoba, but cook-to-order instead of assembled like Subway. You can pick a vessel and the protein, or there's some other options like nachos and flautas that are set. The fact that it's all made fresh is a step above the other fast casual Mexican joints out there. The food tastes fresh. I had a burrito with rice, carnitas, and black beans, along with salsa. If I had a complaint about the food, it's that it is a bit too subtle in its flavoring; the carnitas aren't as robust as I would like, and the spicy salsa isn't spicy enough. I'm also a spice nut, so that may slant things. But it's still good, and the burrito was as thick as a fire extinguisher and a good 8-10" long. Service was prompt and very pleasant, and very understanding that we had to figure out the menu first. There's a small dining inside, which is cool. Either way, we got our food at lunchtime on a weekday and had it in five minutes or so. Can't complain about that! Overall, a solid place I'll be coming back to, and a place you should try instead of the Qdobas of the world.

So I just had to rant & rave about "Cali Tacos"! I went a little bit ago on my lunch break & dined in & the food was wonderful. (I only wanted something light because I wasn't too hungry but was craving Mexican) so I ended up getting one steak & one chicken taco, some chips & salsa, & a Mexican Fanta orange soda! The salsa was extremely fresh & both the steak & chicken were hot & seasoned great. As simple as the order was, it was better quality & tastes better than a lot of other Mexican places in the area that I usually go to. Also, the food wasn't greasy, heavy, or oily at all! I didn't feel sluggish or too full after eating it like I do sometimes after eating at other Mexican places. Another reason I liked it even more was because o seen how the owners there are SUPER nice/friendly, & one of the owners is a veteran! Make sure to check them out if you're in the mood for Mexican

Maybe it was busy because it was a holiday but I had and make a better quesadilla then I ordered there yesterday. Beef tacos were bland . I'll try them again later .

Mexican pizza was awesome! Super clean! Food was very authentic and cannot wait to try the rest! The fries were a meal on its own! Love the shredded beef it was so flavorful

After reading so many great reviews about this place, I finally gave it a try and wow! You will leave here feeling good because you ate delicious homemade food, but also because the owners are so kind and appreciative. It feels great to support such lovely people. One of the owners checked on us multiple times and she was such a sweet person. The prices of everything are also very reasonable and they make sure you're taken care of with the salsas, sauces, and drinks. The restaurant itself is so cozy and nicely decorated and clean!

This place is tiny, they got a couple tables so I get carry out. This isn't your corporate garbage, this is the real deal. Tacos and burritos done correctly with tender beef and chicken not ground beef, the added bonus is you get to build it your way! It's fresh, well seasoned, prepared well...I'd drive by Chipotle, Qdoba, Taco Bell and all those other places on my way To Cali Taco and wonder why anyone would wanna eat at those places..maybe it's because they haven't found out about this tiny little place.

Recently, Cali Tacos took over a small Polish restaurant and the change seemed like it happened over night. We were sad to lose the other place, but Cali Tacos has proven to be worthy. I had been hearing a lot of positive reviews via social media, so decided to take a chance on them recently. There isn't much to it on the inside as far as décor/atmosphere goes, but there are few tables if you are not wanting a carry out. I usually study a menu prior to arriving, especially if it is new and there are not many photos out there to get an idea of everything. The menu is a bit confusing and jumbled, but the person at the counter explained it a little more. They describe their offerings similar to a fast casual place, like Chipotle, Qdoba, etc. but they aren't making the food in front of you. Service though, was super fast. I was in and out of there in about 5 minutes, so they are prepared in the back to get food out. I decided to try a burrito as I felt that would be a good indicator of how their food is. I ordered it with Carnitas, the Spanish rice, refried beans and then it comes with onion, cheese, lime, cilantro. I omitted the cilantro. I don't hate cilantro, but my BF has that thing where it tastes like soap and I wanted him to be able to try it too since he went elsewhere. I also got to choose the salsa that it came with. I went with the spicy salsa. Upon first impressions, big burrito and quality meat! The Carnitas were marinated and even had a touch of sweetness to it. Huge chunks of meat too in the burrito. Everything about this burrito was flavorful. I gobbled it up pretty quickly, with a bit of regret after when I realized it was so good I ate too much of it! Another stand out mention is the salsa! YAAASSS! Delicious!!! I can only think of one other hot salsa in my area that I like just as much as this one. They really know how to make a mean spicy smooth salsa and not drown it in onion or cilantro. I believe their other options for salsa are Verde, for medium spice, and chunky mild salsa. The last thing I want to mention is that they have breakfast taco/burrito/quesadilla offerings. HECK YESSSS. Two of some of my favorite things and I can't wait to try it all out! Don't sit on this place for too long. They are new and could probably use the local support. I know I will be back!

It was okay. I just had the chicken quesadilla which is not really the best way to judge a Mexican restaurant. It was good, the size was reasonable for the price. The refried beans and Spanish rice left something to be desired. I'm going to give it a second shot and see how that goes. The manager or owner was right there at the front which was nice. Parking was close and free. I'd say give it a try, especially if you're just looking to try something different.

It's delicious every single time. I wish they were open longer, or had just a pick up open window past 8:00, that would be killer. Always fresh and it stays hot until you get home because they package everything well!

I was so excited to try this New Mexican spot in St. Clair Shores. I ordered the Rito Bowl with cilantro lime white rice, carne Asada, and black beans, and it was full of deliciousness. The taquitos with chicken were tasty. I like that you can choose from black beans or pinto beans and also two options for rice as well. Try it out!

Cali Tacos is great. What makes Cali Tacos so special are the owners and the friendly staff. Every meal I have ordered from Cali has been tasty. I mean, they load the tacos, burritos and enchiladas with a lot of meat. Their salsa is very good as well. I highly recommend stopping by when you desire great Mexican food. I am so impressed with the food and staff, I hired them to cater an event.

Ordered 2 tacos and was offered salsa. I chose 2 asada street tacos less cheese. First taco was good but the 2nd had a greasier taste. What I didn't like? I was offered a menu to review. Tacos are $3.50, so $7 plus tax? No.... $9.01. I didn't ask. Was I charged for salsa? Did the taco price go up? If so, change the menus. Costs for street tacos were already more than what I normally pay but not a fan of overcharging. Check your prices. Although the flavor was ok, I won't go back due to costs. I can afford it but don't like what happened.

So I was in the area and I just happened to stumble across this place. I am so glad I did because since I first went I have been there three times within a matter of a week. The owner is so sweet and the rest of the staff is kind as well. Very clean establishment. I have a sensitive stomach and the food did not disappoint. I get the chicken tortilla soup which comes with cheese then on the side you get sour cream and in house made tortilla strips like seriously they're so amazing and set the soup off perfectly I do add cilantro and onion to mine as well as lime but that's my preference .Then I get the fajita veggies with a fresh corn tortilla on the side With the green salsa it's soooo good. They do have a veggie taco I haven't tried it yet but it's for sure on my list.The red salsa is very hot not for the timid I don't prefer it alone but with the flavor of the food it definitely balances everything out for the perfect heat. My boyfriend got the steak burrito bowl and it was as well. No bland meat here it and that's important. The rice was seasoned the beans were good I literally have no complaints. My sister got the steak tacos and again no bland meat seasoned to perfection this definitely was good with the red salsa. Everything is 10/10 for flavor, price, and not making my stomach hurt. They also have Jarritos as a bev. I will be back Thursday to try the Birria and some consommé (they only have it on Thursday ) . If you love tacos and flavor you will love this place. You gotta give it a try

Cali Burrito, Chicken Flautas, and a Mexican Pizza! Came here for the first time on a Monday, by that Friday I had returned 3x!!! Food is delicious and so fresh, extremely generous portions, wonderful staff/owner, I've sent at least 5 people since my first visit and we all agree Cali Taco is a local FAVORITE

I frequent this place 2 or 3 times a week. The staff are super friendly, as well as the owner. The owner is also a veteran and I love that. The food is really good and I typically get the chicken tacos. The prices are good for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys some decent Mexican food.

I have been there numerous times and usually have gotten the exact same dish and I have never ever been disappointed. The owners there are personable, warm and easy / enjoyable to talk with. I brought a friend there for his first time and he came back later that day with is wife. Highly recommend Cali Tacos either as a take away or a quant enjoyable dine in experience.

This is not Mexican food. If you like bowls with rice and chicken and whatever else that's fine but there are no Mexican flavors what so ever.

Wow, what a great addition to our Harper/13 Mile area. Only two reviews right now (both 5 star) because they are so new, but they are definitely worth the 5 stars. I should have probably waited a couple more times to try some more dishes and food, but what I had was so good I wanted to let you guys and gals in on it right away! I have spent a lot of time in Southern California so I have had a LOT of Mexican/Latin food and I can tell you this is about as real as you're going to get. It is a small restaurant and has 3-4 eating areas if you want to eat in or taking your yummy food with you and devouring it at home is always a good option, too! I got the 3 Taquitos + Salsa ($8) + a Small Quacamole ($2). They were amazing. Just the right spice but not too hot. It's all about taste. You can mix up the meats on the tacos and I got 1 Pollo (chicken), 1 Carnitas (pork) and 1 Al Pastor (marinated pork). They will add some salsa for you and I would HIGHLY recommend the green one. It's a green tomato salsa and it is so flavorful and just the right spice. Again not too hot, but you know it's there. I also got a Burrito ($9) to go that was so good. You get to pick what toppings you want to go on it: Lime, Onions, Cilantro, Cheese, Pico, Salsa or Green Salsa. So good and a lot of food. I also really like the "Specialty" drink/beverage ($3) to go with everything. It's a Mexican flavor soda from California and really adds to the authenticity of the food. I spoke with the owner and he lived in the Lancaster/Palmdale area in Southern California for many years so I'm sure he picked up some of the taco mastery there! They keep the place always super clean and it's just a great place to walk into. Good vibes. I can't wait to try some more things and hope you do, too! You will not regret!

Can we just taco bout how incredible this place is! SO happy we found it when waiting for my husbands Tubby's order! Their homemade guac + carnitas are sooo yum. The Owners were super friendly and we can't wait to be back for Burrito Thursday.

Our order was messed up (they were super busy the day my husband went in) but when I called & spoke to the owner, she told me to come in and they'd make it for us again. I am very appreciative and the owner was so lovely! We can't wait to go back!

I normally don't ever leave reviews for any place but I was in here yesterday and tried out a couple tacos and their Cali burrito I have to say it is very authentic California food and especially since I was born and raised in Southern California the owner was very nice really good customer service and their hot sauce is not bad either

We tried the both the regular and Cali burrito, and both were delicious. The salsa's are also house-made--so fresh, so tasty! We will definitely be getting take out from here again. Great customer service too.

Wasn't sure of where to eat for lunch and a costumer of mine told me about this taco shop, so I came here. Walked in looked at the menu, ordered and they were great from the start. costumer service?great! food? great! atmosphere? great! recommendation? definitely, 100%!
