The old Soda Popinski's reborn as California Jacks. Gone are the 80's Russian retro kitsch and welcome a more relaxed neighborhood vibe. Fear not, the spinning drink wheel from the former space still exists. Friendly bartenders who are also pretty good singers. How do I know? Karaoke Saturdays brings in a lively crowd but still plenty of space to roam. Never hard to get a drink from the bar. Like the chill vibe compared to other buzzier bars on Polk. Give it a shot the next time you're in the hood. And while you're at it, give the spinning drink wheel a go - you'll never know what your $13 might get you.
