California Pizza Kitchen Opens in Franklin | Eater Nashville

"Opening October 9 in the CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin, this California Pizza Kitchen marks the brand’s second Nashville-area location. It introduces new menu items—protein-packed power bowls, cauliflower-crusted pizzas, and craft cocktails—alongside the hand-tossed pizzas, pastas, and other dishes the large brand is known for. The location features indoor and outdoor seating and a standalone bar in the center of the mall, and showcases CPK’s updated California-inspired look with reclaimed elements (skateboard pieces flank a few walls), sustainable materials, and touches of Nashville throughout the space. Founded in 1985 in Beverly Hills, CPK is credited with popularizing innovative California-style pizza and now operates more than 250 restaurants in 13 countries and U.S. territories. Hours for the Franklin location are Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Have eaten here many times and supper happy with the quality of the food, staff, wait time and price of the food. Tried lunch for the first time and great deal we will be back. California Pizza Kitchen at CoolSprings Galleria is located at 1800 Galleria Boulevard, Franklin, TN 37064, inside the CoolSprings Galleria Mall, across from The Cheesecake Factory . This location opened several years ago and has grown into a staple of the regional dining scene . Inside the kitchen, CPK chefs follow a well‑defined system blending hand‑tossed dough, fresh produce, and seasonal flavors into signature pizzas, salads, and small plates that align with the brand’s Cali‑style creativity . The kitchen team typically begins each day prepping house dough in small batches, slicing produce for salads and starters such as dynamite shrimp or lettuce wraps, and crafting sauces in‑house. Staff rotate through stations—dough, toppings, ovens, salads, and plating—to maintain efficiency and high quality. CPK’s culinary training emphasizes consistency and innovation. For example, kitchen staff are trained to balance popular items like the BBQ Chicken Pizza or white corn guacamole with seasonal specials that reflect current flavor trends . The open‑view kitchen design encourages visual connection between cooks and diners, reinforcing the brand’s casual yet elevated atmosphere. Customer reviews spotlight both strengths and areas for improvement: while many praise attentive staff and flavorful menu offerings, some note occasional service delays or uneven salad‑pizza combos . Regardless, the CPK team at CoolSprings strives to deliver a pleasant, relaxing dining experience—even understaffing or busy service periods challenge them. Physically housed within a larger closed super‑regional mall featuring over 150 stores and anchor tenants like Macy’s, Dillard’s, JCPenney, and more, the restaurant sees consistent foot traffic and benefits from mall events and promotions . Overall, the CPK kitchen at CoolSprings Galleria blends precision, freshness, and staff training to uphold the brand’s reputation—making the location a solid option for shoppers and locals alike who crave California‑inspired pizza and creative menu items in a laid‑back environment.

Asked salad and grilled chicken came burnt, told manager and he mentioned it was normal as grill was 600 degrees. Ok, brought other (nice attitude) this time raw…claimed again and manager excluded from the check.

I lived in California for many years, and CPK was always one of my favorite go-to spots. There’s just something about their food — fresh ingredients, creative flavors, and that signature consistency you can always count on. So when I discovered there was a California Pizza Kitchen right here in Franklin, I couldn’t wait to check it out. From the moment I walked in, the experience was outstanding. Katie, the manager, was an absolute gem. She went out of her way to make sure my order was perfect, and you could just tell how much pride she takes in her restaurant. Her enthusiasm is contagious — it’s rare to see someone so genuinely passionate about what they do, and it really shows in the service and the atmosphere. The food was every bit as good as I remembered from California: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The pizzas are phenomenal (you can’t go wrong with any of them), and the menu has something for everyone — from light salads to hearty pastas and creative appetizers. Honestly, I’m surprised more people in Franklin don’t know about this location. It’s perfect for families, casual dinners, or even just grabbing takeout. CPK Franklin is a hidden gem that deserves a lot more local love. I’ll definitely be back!

Couple time. We loved the pizza but some of the dishes that they leave close to you when you want to serve yourself your pizza were dirty. They have a lot of staff and you see that sometimes they are not doing so much and make just noise. I suggest to have a private space for employees away from customers and they can feel better in those moments when they are waiting to see what to do. Entrance: they are fast w questions and move you to your table. I don't remember the name of the waitress was a guy and he was so good giving service. Restrooms were clean. Open kitchen you can see how and who cooks.

Family of 5 visiting CPK for the first time .. there wasn’t a host immediately in the front so we wait a few.. We noticed a few empty tables but were still placed on a waitlist.. Once the table was ready the host told us to go to the back to our table instead instead of guiding us there . We ordered 2 traditional cheese pizzas, 1 California club and the works Pizza. All were made in original crust but the bread was so hard my jaw started to hurt after the 2nd slice… We had to ask for our own refill which, is fine. Everything tasted fine and fresh and the atmosphere was nice since, it’s located in the mall. Overall , We probably won’t come back

Big shout out to Corey at the Take and Bake station! He provided absolute top-tier assistance. He really embodies the CPK R.O.C.K.S. service model—he was Kind, Communicative, and provided excellent Service to get me on my way quickly. If you need a Take and Bake for the house, go see Corey! 🌟

Came on a Saturday afternoon so we expected a wait. They take down your name and number then send a text when your table is ready. It works out pretty well since the restaurant is located within a mall. So you can walk around and shop (or window shop) until you receive the text. Which is exactly what my family and I did. After about 20 minutes we got our table. Our server was Tanner, nice guy but I think they may have assigned too many tables for him. The service was good in the beginning but it slowly declined during the course of our visit. I felt bad it seemed like Tanner was scrambling around to help everyone. He forgot our drink refills a couple times and forgot when my husband asked for cheese and peppers for our pizza. I’m sure it wasn’t Tanner’s fault, they were short on staff or he just had too much on his plate. As for the food, I got my typical order - the Original BBQ chicken pizza. I did request extra red onions, which they gave ample of. My husband ordered their new Burnt ends pizza. He stated that it was ok but he probably wouldn’t get it again, the burnt ends is best left as a bbq dish and not as a topping on pizza. I was happy with my pizza though, tasted exactly as I remember from when I lived in CA! Overall the experience was ok. Food was good (for me, at least). Service was lacking a bit both with our server and the hostess but it wasn’t awful. We just happened to come on a busy day so I understand. Would definitely come back! Hopefully next time not at peak hour.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered the Mexican Corn for starters followed by BBQ Chicken and Meat Feast Pizzas. All of the food was delicious. Jesse, our waiter, was excellent. Really efficient and friendly. Highly recommended!
