LA’s California Pizza Kitchen Now in Bankruptcy Because of Coronavirus | Eater LA

"Based in Playa Vista, this Los Angeles–born casual restaurant chain—with more than 250 locations including many at airports and high-traffic sites like the Hollywood & Highland complex—has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Texas amid the COVID-19–driven economic downturn. The filing outlines restructuring efforts to shutter unprofitable locations and reduce corporate debt, including a plan to seek nearly $50 million in new financing, but does not necessarily mean permanent closure of all sites. Company documents report only $13.5 million in cash on hand, roughly four months of unpaid rent at most locations, and numerous landlord default notices and lawsuits. Operating for over 35 years and known for California-inspired, inventive toppings—most famously a widely imitated barbecue chicken pizza developed by chef Ed LaDou—its pies are also sold in frozen grocery aisles nationwide. CEO Jim Hyatt said lender support demonstrates a commitment to the brand’s ongoing viability while the company works to preserve its signature menu." - Farley Elliott

Google
This place was ok. I would go back but not something I would go out of my way for. The pizza is to small . They are almost like personal pizzas. Just keep that in mind

California Kitchen offers a very nice and affordable lunch menu with everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and came out quickly. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Only downside is the air conditioner, which can be a bit unstable on warmer days. Otherwise, highly recommended for a casual and tasty lunch spot!

Google
A beautiful day and sat outside. Sangria flight was a big hit. Enjoyed a bowl of Tomato soup, garlic Alfredo, shrimp scampi, strawberry lemonade, and cucumber refresher. Nice pleasant server. 07/18/2024 update - hot weather today so chose to sit inside the air conditioning. They had plenty of seating around 5:20pm and took us straight into the table/booth. I think our server was Jaylia and did everything for us so helpful. I chose the shrimp scampi zucchini. It was very delicious. Highly recommend. Enjoyed a Pellegrino over ice.

Google
Camille (Cam/Cammie) was such an amazing server last night for our group five!!! She was beyond attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and paid very close attention to refills and when to pre-bus the table. As a previous hospitality manager I was very impressed to learn she started off as a hostess and recently became a server. Kudos to the management for seeing her talent and people skills!! She will be a server I will ask for when I return! Besides from Cam the food was amazing, fresh and hot. I never had a bad experience with the quality of food or service. This is my favorite go to spot for meals! We were even greeted by the Manager on Duty, he was also really friendly and attentive. I think his name was Dan. Overall 5/5 for our visit last night on 7/18/25!

Google
FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Came in with a family of 5. The staff got us seated quickly. We had the Avocado Egg Rolls and the White Corn Guacamole for our appetizers. Our main courses were Shrimp Scampi, Shaken Beef, Chickie Picatta, BBQ Chicken Pizza and The kids chicken tenders. For dessert we had the butter cake. We will be returning.

Google
California Pizza was a good experience. The only thing I would say if you order the supreme Pizza ask for extra cheese on top because the topping was falling off the pizza and the cheese would have held it together. The mocktails are a must-try. They were delicious and cute to look at.

Google
Food came out fresh and hot. Prices were reasonable. We had a party of 15 and they sat us almost immediately. The food was quite delicious!

Google
Ordered Mac and cheese and added grilled chicken for $5.50. (When I took the picture I had already eaten a little bit but when they served it it was like double what you see there) Mentioned to the manager and they said they couldn't do anything about it. It was the smallest amount. Not worth the extra 5.50 at all. The butter cake was good. But, too bad I won't be having dessert again here. Paid $38.00 for the Mac and cheese you see there, the pieces of chicken (as described on the receipt but not the menu), the butter cake and a glass of water.

Yelp
I haven't had this place in years, so when it was suggested for lunch I was super excited to come back! We came in right at opening time and was seated right away. We had to park far, but Perkins Rowe is always a pretty view. They had a girls night celebration the night before so it was decorated really pink and cute! Our hostess and staff in the front were very nice. Our server was Ashely. She seemed like she did not want to be at work today. Our experience was not necessarily bad, but felt delayed. We only had an hour for our lunch break and everything seemed to be in slow motion. She had a booth behind us and a booth in front of us. She would attend to tables in front and behind us and never looked our way. She walked by us twice to the table behind us and didn't even look our way while I waited for the ranch I asked for. No refills no check ins. Thankfully we didn't need much. Not until we needed the ticket and boxes. The kitchen is very open, therefore we could see directly in there and see her walking around and ignoring our eyes. After 10 minutes of waiting on our tickets and boxes, she brought our boxes then 5 minutes later finally our tickets. I ordered a large pizza and asked for a ranch. On the ticket I see that I have to pay $1 for the smallest ranch. I think it's crazy that ranch is not a given with a large establishment like California pizza. I got the BBQ chicken pizza. My friends got the Avocado egg rolls appetizer and Avocado Club pizza. The food was all very good, but not sure if we would be returning.

Yelp
I ordered to-go. I got the original BBQ Chicken pizza with thin crust and extra cilantro + the Mexican corn. The thin crust for an extra $1.50 was advertised as crispy. It was not. More chewy than anything. The chicken was very sparse. I asked for extra cilantro and there was hardly any at all. I expected an even better experience than the frozen pizzas I get at Walmart which are good. I didn't get that. I paid $6.50 for Mexican corn. The flavor was lacking and the portion size was minuscule at best. It did taste like roasted corn though. For $30+ I should've just bought a couple of the frozen pizzas and some microwaveable roasted corn and sprinkled some chili powder on top. The customer service was great when I picked it up though. It's in a great locale with lots of things going on around for entertainment.

Yelp
I came here during Veterans Day. I was thinking this place was going to be packed, but it wasn't. The service was great, sat us quick and after getting the food order the food was served quite quickly. The ambiance was nice and very open space and outside lighting. We also got checked on every so often and that was nice of the manager and our waiter. Sad that there is none of these in New Orleans.

Yelp
I haven't been here since 2019. With that being said I figured my friend and I could take our kids there for a last minute dinner option. Our service was terrible though. Our server wasn't rude or anything but he took forever on the drinks and the food and he had to come back and ask more questions because he forgot to ask them originally when taking the order. The food was okay. Not bad not great. We got an appetizer of dumplings. My daughter loved it so much she wanted it for her meal. Then I got this taco pizza no beans add chicken. To me this place is higher on the price end for pizza and I just don't see the worth due to other places being cheaper and better flavor. By the end of the meal we were the second to last people there and we felt very rushed to leave or we would've ordered dessert. Would I come back? No.

Yelp
My daughter and I have been attending California Pizza Kitchen for several years. Her favorite of all time is their macaroni and cheese. Their mac & cheese is number one on her list. We do find the wait time for food. It generally depends on how busy they are. It's okay. We do find that when we get served at the bar. It's much quicker. The bartender is polite and more attentive to our needs. I enjoy their salads. Any of their salads are so good, and they are big enough that you could take some home. They do have a lot of varieties of food to choose from. Overall, their pizza is very good, and I enjoy the option of having a cauliflower crust. I recommend everyone go to California Pizza Kitchen. If you need a quick bite to eat or just to gather a chat and relax in a casual environment, this is the place to be. We will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Located in the beautiful ambiance of Perkins Rowe, this place had so much potential--but the experience was completely ruined by the manager. She was unbelievably rude and mean! We honestly felt so bad for the employees who have to work under her. She yelled at the waiter who served us and told him to not even sell alcohol anymore to anybody... we were there well before closing. I simply asked for a Ranch Water or a vodka soda with lime, and she passive-aggressively told me that the drink wasn't on their menu. Mind you, this is a restaurant with a bar... ... ... ... So, I tried again and asked for a dirty martini--nope, not happenin!! At this point, I just broke it all the way down: Can I please just have some Tito's over ice with a lime wedge? Thanks... Food is decent. I would never come back unless a friend was craving it for some odd reason.

Yelp
CPK has the best hawaiian pizza in my opinion since they use fresh pineapple, applewood smoked ham, and top it with silvered scallions. However, during this visit they were out of pineapple. I was told this once my hawaiian pizza was brought to my table. The pizza was still good but I wish my waitress would have said something beforehand so I could have ordered a different pizza. I was also surprised that they still charged the $17.99 for the pizza even though it was missing a topping. I also ordered a cup of the tomato basil bisque during this visit and really enjoyed it. It was smooth and tasted great. They did forget to top it with croutons though. Service was fast and our waitress was very nice. This restaurant has plenty of tables inside as well as a nice outdoor area to dine in.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite before our movie. The pizza was okay. It was extremely greasy. Probably won't be coming back soon ‍

Yelp
Idk how people eat here and pay those prices. They aren't cheap. No one waiting to seat you. The service is molasses slow. The AC apparently doesn't work. Only went because Jinya was on an hour wait and we were hungry. Never again tho!

Megan A.

Yelp
We went and ate here for the first time. We had a pretty big party with us for my daughter's birthday. The atmosphere was really cool, the variety of food was great, they had something for everyone. I think our server was fairly new. Considering the size of our party he handled it like a champ. Some of our friends got their food after everyone was done eating. Which we were kind of upset about. Management handled it great. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
After long weeks, my girls & I love to relax at what we call "CPK". I was introduced to the butter cake by a dear friend & ever since it has become my friend groups monthly tradition. We of course have to get the ice cream on the side. But seriously y'all... if you have never tried the butter cake PLEASE DO! We all enjoy a good butter cake after hard days, heartbreaks, or if we just need time to decompress. Sometimes we spice it up and get a BBQ pizza for the table or maybe a couple drinks. Most of the time though, we go for the underrated delicacy-- The Butter Cake.

Riley M.

Yelp
From southern florida and me and sister came to try out their pizza unfortunately we never even got to meet our server because nobody ever came to our table to greet us after we were seated for about 30 -45 minutes

Yelp
THE NICEST STAFF EVER!!! my friend wasn't feeling well, and the staff brought complimentary bread and milk and a bag of ice for her. They even offered to bring a scooter out for her and help us help her to our car. There was a little girl who had lost her tooth in the bathroom and they humored my request to bring her a scoop of ice cream "from the tooth fairy". The food was hot and good and came out promptly. The restaurant was also clean and well organized. They went above and beyond my expectations and made our night that was turning sour into a sweet dinner with friends. THANK YOU TO THE STAFF!

Mike L.

Yelp
Great service!! Friendly and good food!! Nice outdoor dining!! Our waitress was very attentive!!

Yelp
I enjoyed grabbing a pizza here before hitting the movies. Service was good and pizza was VERY good. The only "negative " thing I would say is their beer selection is a very small selection. I personally think pizza and beer are paired very nicely together ! But otherwise food was very delicious! I enjoyed the ambience of the place too, great location right next to the movie theater and other shops ! Highly recommend coming here for maybe a dinner and then hop across the street for a movie!

Yelp
Had to drop my rating because I tried a few more of their appetizers and small plates and it felt a little lackluster. We started off with the avocado club egg rolls. I really wanted to like them but I think I was sensorily uncomfortable with the warm avocado, it made it taste a little over-ripe and I wasn't too big a fan of that. The next thing I got was the Mexican street corn. It was alright, but not anything fantastic. Personally wouldn't order it again. I then had the Malibu focaccia. It was alright. Nothing special once again. My friend ordered the spicy honey bee one which I tried a slice of. That was really good (only if you like stink cheeses though, otherwise you'll hate it). I obviously had to end my night with butter cake. Sooooo delicious. Definitely worth coming back to every time.

Yelp
Food was the Pea & Barley soup and dynamite shrimp! Both delicious! Service was both quick and accurate! Ambiance was very nice and quite!
google avatar

Monica P.

Yelp
Pizzas were great. Service was slow and terrible... no drink refills... need more people? And it was not a busy day... 45 min wait for the pizza, 15 min and counting for the bill....

Brooke B.

Yelp
Never even sat us. We waited for 20 MINUTES. Nobody even came over. I didn't even ask any questions but they ignored us straight up.
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
First time trying this and I loved it! The dough tasted homemade and it was hot and firm (not floppy). Not greasy either. Definitely will be going back! I got the lunch special with a Caesar salad. Very satisfied with it. The employees were extremely nice and super friendly too.
google avatar

Jasmine H.

Yelp
Needed a place to grab for lunch and I'd been here before so we stopped here... This was the first time I had tried the avocado egg rolls and I LOVED them. They give you two different ranch options and honestly you need both. I'm not too big on the pizza but maybe I just need to give them another try. I had the garlic Alfredo pasta with chicken and shrimp. The chicken it was really tender. I don't like that they keep the tail on the shrimp. The alfredo sauce is also more on the oily side, you'll get more oil than sauce.
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
Weak service. Out of several menus items. Does CPK require all of its employees to wear rings in their noses? Seemed so. Really helps my appetite .
google avatar

Daisy M.

Yelp
I got a GF cheese pizza -- it hit the spot! Kudos to CPK for making a delicious GLUTEN FREE pizza at a reasonable price. Thank you!!!!!

Chris H.

Yelp
We found a piece of chewed gum under our pizza slice. That's right chewed gum stuck to the bottom out the crust. Not sure what kind of restaurant this is but i will NEVER eat here again.
google avatar

Will E.

Yelp
Service was painfully slow on an afternoon that was not busy. Pizza undercooked and not very good. I won't be back
google avatar

Sadie E.

Yelp
Went for lunch today at noon on a Saturday and it was empty! Got seated right away and got the food very fast. It was delicious, lunch is the perfect portion. Also our waiter was super nice.

Yelp
Perfect place for a quick and tasty dinner. I haven't been to CPK in years so I felt it was time to revisit. I love the open space in the restaurant and views of Perkins Rowe. Of course I had to order pizza, and I usually go for BBQ but I decided to try something else. I highly recommend the California club because you basically get a side salad on top of the pizza. My boyfriend loves steak so the waiter suggested the Carne asada. And what's dinner without an app ! I recommend the Chicken Dumplings.

sarah f.

Yelp
A total of 3 tables were occupied while I was there and I put in an order for 1 pepperoni pizza as SOON as I sat down and it took over 45 minutes. Waiter barely checked on me during the 45 minutes because he was eating soup IN THE KITCHEN. You work at a pizza restaurant, come on. Oh and the food was absolutely terrible.

Zacheus T.

Yelp
the service was bad, went there today got sat waited for 25-30 min, they then sat someone directly infront of me and my wife and took there order and continued to just look at us like we had shit on our faces told the manager he said okay and left

Yelp
I know CPK can be a hit of a miss, depending on what location you visit. This place however, has pretty much always delivered for me. Having been in and out of BR for the last 6 years or so - CPK on Perkins has always featured on on my fav takeout places, whether I was at the Renaisance or a corporate apartment. I have a standard take out order - Half of the thal crunch salad, no meat, add avocado and some bread. It always tastes delicious. It comes with 2 kinds of dressings, topped with some roasted peanuts and crunchy wonton strips. I can never get enough of this salad. I have tried several other things on their menu too - love their lettuce wraps and the veggie pizza/ margarita too. Not that big a fan of their "egg roll" kinda things. If we visit in person, I always prefer the outside (when the weather is great), because I will honestly tell you - the inside has this lingering stale food smell that NEVER leaves. The servers are usually pretty friendly. We skip the drinks - all their cocktails are chock full of sugar and artificial flavors in my mind. If you come on a Thur evening, grab yourself and outside table and watch the bands serenade the crowd for Rock on the Rowe performances as you eat.. win-win!
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
This was my first time here. Other than the wait, this place was amazing! It took us about 45-1hr before we got seating. When we were finally seated, it took about 10 minutes before our server came to greet us. When he came, he was very nice and had wonderful suggestions. The martini was delicious!!!!!!!!! and something I would definitely order again. I had the jambalaya linguini and it was very well seasoned. The ribeye was very good. It was cooked medium, out of my comfort zone but I was not disappointed at all. The vibe was perfect! Definitely a cozy and warm welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend for date night. Maybe next time I'll try their pizza! Lol

Yelp
I have not been here in a very long time - And before you say where are the pictures of the food - well I was thrown off by the attitude I was given by the server/employee when I advised my salad didn't taste right. So please forgive me. So let's start - I went on a Friday around 2-3ish for lunch with a friend. It was a hot day and we wanted something light and not too heavy. That is the reason we choose to come here. When we first walked into the lobby area I was expecting the AC to cool us down. It was so hot that it was hardly any different then being outside. I then said maybe it would be cooler than nice we are seated at our table. Boy was I wrong it was like a slight change but then we got seated at a table that had what felt like fleece blankets on the booth chairs. I was dripping with sweat and all I wanted was a drink to cool me off. Once we got our drinks it didn't cool us off as they tasted funny or something. I know some places have different types of ginger ale but this one tasted so bad and very flat. I didn't even bother to ask for anything in exchange as I said before the server was not super friendly. I was excited that they had a happy hour lunch menu but was then advised that I couldn't make a modifications or substitute anything that it had to be what was on the list of items. Like I said before I had ordered a salad - it was the Cobb salad but that wasn't one of the items listed and when I asked them f they could make an exception I was told very firmly NO it has to be a selection from the list only after I also said I couldn't eat anything from that list like the bbq chicken or the cesar salad and so on. I was torn between getting a salad or a pizza that's why I was excited about the happy hour menu because you could pick 2 items. The items to choose from where a salad, sandwich or/and a pizza. After I couldn't get the salad I wanted the way I wanted it I opted to get the Cobb salad with ranch dressing. I'm not sure how or whom makes the dressings but when I tasted the first bite it didn't taste anything like ranch (hopefully it wasn't expired or going bad) that is how odd or off the flavor of it was. My child even tasted it and said that's not ranch it's yucky. So I then flagged down or server and advised that it didn't taste right and I questioned it and he was not super happy that I had a problem. I said this doesn't taste like ranch can you exchange this with a new one and put the ranch to the side. He began to argue with me that that was what I ordered and that it was ranch and that is the way it taste. I was shocked by the back talk as I was the paying customer and he stood there telling me I basically was wrong and that was the correct order. And he didn't taste it so I don't know how he could say that it was just right and tasted good. I was shocked but I still asked again for the third time to just bring me a new salad with no dressing on it and put the ranch on the side. He grabbed my plate and took off the the kitchen. Then returned with an attitude asking me once again that I was sure I wanted the Cobb salad with the ranch dressing but on the side. It threw me off as we discussed this already so why would I change my mind. After confirming the order yet again he took off and headed to the kiosk to enter it I'm guessing. I will say that I will most certainly not be coming back. Also they should try to keep a person up front so you are not waiting to flag an employee down that you have not been helped.

Charlie S.

Yelp
Food was good and service was good and we were enjoying our food till my friends found a snail in her pizza witch made us both loose our appetite and the waiter didn't have much to say about it and just brought it back to the kitchen.
google avatar

Gardesha W.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a drink before a movie. I sat at the bar which was a little tight but big enough for a berry cocktail. Very flavorful not to sweet with a kick!
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for a while finally decided to go for it. I recommend coming here !! I had the beehive sangria and it was sweet and delicious. Then we got the chicken dumplings and they were one of the best dumplings I've ever had. And don't get me started on the crust on the thin crust pizza... SO GOOD. Our server Mac was so sweet and made sure everything was perfect. He also had a genuine personality which made the experience 10x better. So in conclusion, yes I recommend this place
google avatar

Adrian O.

Yelp
Service was a bit slow and our food came out at different times but overall it was good and they were very accommodating of our request to sit outside and turn off the fans.

Zach B.

Yelp
The California Pizza kitchen is a very disappointing place to eat all the silverware was dirty and the napkins were even dirty and our glasses were dirty and our waiter was not fulfilling his job he didn't refill our glasses and was talking badly about my group at the kiosk right behind our table the California Pizza kitchen does not even deserve one star this restaurant needs to be reevaluated

Logan C.

Yelp
Service was terribly slow. Our dishes were dirty we had dirty utensils, my water cup was dirty waiters acted like it was nothing honestly just terrible wish i could give it half a star
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
The place smells dank and musty. The food was bland and a little overpriced. We came in at lunch, and there was no wait for a table. We sat at a booth that smelled a little bit like gym socks. The waiter was really nice. Appetizer was avocado and bacon egg rolls. Very greasy, and the ranch dressing was a little "off." The pizza was oily. Not impressed at all.
google avatar

Qassem I.

Yelp
The food was delicious and my experience there was amazing but if the food wasn't overpriced I would've went there again.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
The service was awful, but food was delicious. We had about a 35 minute wait for outdoor seating, which was fine for a Saturday night, but once we sat down it took a minimum of 20 minutes for the waiter to take our drink orders -- unacceptable. If we wouldn't have gone to the hostess areA, we might not have received any service. When asked a menu question, he was very short and curt with his answers. It took 30+ minutes for our food to arrive. He was MIA most of the time and finally arrived with our food. I will say everyone enjoyed their meals - my "don't call me chicken" plant based bbq pizza was exceptional. My daughter enjoyed her dumplings and my hubby enjoyed his bolognese. Unfortunately the wait and service were terrible.
google avatar

Semuteh F.

Yelp
3.5 Stars! Came on a Friday afternoon around 3:30 and benefited from the great lunch specials (duos). Even though the place was pretty empty, it took a while for someone to come get us waters and then another long time to order and a longer time still for our food. No excuse for slow service on a slow weekday afternoon. Food was very good for chain restaurant food. The pizza especially was well made and the portions were generous for lunch specials. I enjoyed my Cesar salad (though was really just lettuce, croutons and Parmesan cheese with Cesar dressing). My partner and I each got the pizza/salad duo and split the BBQ chicken and sausage/mushroom/pepperoni pizzas so we could try each flavor. Both above average. I'm generally not a fan of chain restaurants but CPK is just fine and was a quick, cheap meal after a movie across the way at the theater.

Grace V.

Yelp
Our host (lulu) was so rude and disrespectful to me and my family. Service besides her was fine. But no one wants to walk in and that be the first thing that they see or interact with. Safe to say, we will not be coming back to the baton rouge location. Do better.
google avatar

Chantel V.

Yelp
So quite frankly....I LOVE CPK. I have to admit I'm somewhat biased as I'm from CALIFORNIA but hey, it's good ok?! So let's start off with my faves. The Jamaican jerk pizza is like a party in your mouth. It's traditionally served on thin crust but I always ask for their traditional crust on mine. It's topped with chicken and bacon and peppers, oh my. And the jerk sauce really sets it off. It's honestly something I never would have expected from CPK and that makes it even more of a prize in my eye. Pasta. They have this lemon asparagus spinach dish that I absolutely love. I love it so much, I've adopted it into my own homemade repertoire. You can add meat to this dish if you'd like, but I find it so light and refreshing, I'm like, what for? I have to be straight with you. My favorite salad is a SEASONAL one. *sad face*. It's the summer salad with pistachios watermelon strawberries and champagne dressing. My mouth is watering right now. No lie. Dessert. Two words. Butter cake. As I live and breathe. Treat yourself. The Perkins Rowe location is always busy. And we've always received great service. The manager even comes by to check on us pretty regularly. Haven't had a bad visit yet, and we've gone quite frequently.

Annie H.

Yelp
There was no wait when we came so we got sat immediately. But no waiter came to our table after 15 minutes of seating. My friend had to go to the bar and asked one of them to start our table. She was really nice (waiter with blue hair and glasses) she was working at the bar but she still waited our table so thanks to her. I'm not saying they were avoiding us because of our color. (asian and black) But two caucasian people sat in front of our booth and they got a waiter within like 5 minutes of being seated. The food is okay ( in my opinion everyone has a different taste!) To be honest the table was dirty as well and no one even cleaned it for us. Would not go back. Also mind that they were not busy.

Yelp
CPK is one of those places that has the ideal menu - there's something for everyone with a balance of meaty pizzas and veggie-laden salads. I just wish the execution were better. I ordered a grilled veggie salad ($11 for HALF) and paid an extra $6 for "sautéed" salmon. When the food arrived via Waitr, the added salmon was really a container of diced salmon pieces that had been deep fried until it was a jerky-like consistency, and the amount given couldn't even fill the palm of my hand. I can't really believe I just paid damn near $20 for one of the most disappointing meals of my life. I really really want to love this place, but I've never had anything spectacular.

Yelp
We stopped by Saturday after the LSU game hoping the place wouldn't be packed. Walking up I was relieved to see many empty tables. Unfortunately, we were told there was a 20 minute wait for a table, but if we wanted, we could sit at the bar immediately. We chose the bar option and strolled through a mostly empty restaurant with only occupants at four tables. There were some people that were sitting in the waiting area. I assume they were short on wait staff. Drink orders were swift. As we waited on appeteizers, I was wondering how this place could allow tables to go unbussed for so long. There were 4 booths in a row that remained cluttered for 25 minutes while we were there. Not sure how long they had been that way before we walked in. The seat benches on most were busted, with large holes. How anyone would sit there is beyond me. Appetizers were as good as all of the times I've been here. Pizza followed quickly and was really good. Our bartender performed well, not bothering too much or leaving us unattended. Food was great, but the experience was definitely not the bustling, vibrant, and cheery mood that made this a great place pre-Covid. It'll probably be awhile before I head back.

Yelp
The server Isaac was awesome! He joked around and paid attention to all of his what looked liked a lot of tables he was waiting, catching refills and checking in regularly. He made the whole experience with me and my lovely girlfriend that much more enjoyable for our anniversary. Would definitely come here again for that kind of service!

Yelp
I really haven't had a bad experience here with the food or service. In fact, this is where I came when I turned 21 (haha yeah I'm not cool shut up) 7 years ago. They got rid of my favorite drink which was a Tropical Sangria . But I tried the White Peach Sangria today and it was alright. There was an art festival at perkins rowe today and they did not tell the restaurant so they weren't prepared for the rush of people! We went at around 3 though and it was fine for us. Table of 7, we only had to wait about 15 mins and the waiter was seriously there just enough. (I hate hovering.) No issues with our orders or the service. Though... I'm not sure why our last person got their soup a couple mins after us?? It was still only a couple of mins tho. For my appetizer I got the corn guacamole which was good as always (simple but spicy and tasty!) OKAY AND I FINALLY GOT TO TRY CAULIFLOWER CRUST GUYS AND HERE'S THE THING: I LIKE IT! Buuut perhaps not with the toppings I got. Price wise, its not cheap but not that expensive. Just be smart about your order! Everything I ordered plus the tip rang it up to $40. I should've done better but I was willing to splurge A BIT today. I consider that a lot to spend on just one meal for one person though, you know what I'm saying? All in all, I'm satisfied and will go back, sure! But I can't RAVE about this place and give it 5 stars. For one thing, theres no particular meal I've ever ordered that I've wanted to have again. The food is just good/fine.
