Our server was Miles. He was great up until the very end. In fact, I contemplated even leaving this review as I do not want to get him in trouble, but I think he should know for future instances. "If you knew better, you'd do better" ...right? Anyway, the restaurant closed at 10pm on the day of our visit. We were completely oblivious to the time as we walked in and were seated around 8:50pm. We received our drinks shortly after and our appetizers after another 10-15 min. So far, so good. Although, I will NEVER order the spinach artichoke dip again, it came out cold and clumpy and just completely unappetizing, but the kids were so hungry, they didn't seem to mind so I kept quiet. Our main entrees arrived soon after they finished the spinach slop dip. Everything was great, nice and hot and tasted great. Miles brought our check as we were nearing the end of our meal. I'm a bit of a slow eater though, he actually came by twice to check on the check before I had even touched it. I said to myself, "oh shoot, maybe they are getting ready to close soon, let me go ahead and pay and start wrapping this dinner up" So I did. I even left him a 25% tip. However, after that happened, we never saw him again. I mean, he could have let us know he would be leaving and maybe asked if there was anything we needed before he did. He said absolutely squat, just left! Of course, not before his last tip for the night. But once he got that, he was outta there. We literally sat there twiddling our thumbs for 20 min hoping someone would walk by that we could stop and ask for a couple of to-go containers. My kid even went up to what we realized later was the bartender and asked for help and he said he'd send our server over... which never happened because our server was long gone by this point. Finally we said forget it, and just left. We didn't get to take any of our leftovers home and if you have kids, you know that's the majority of their food. Wasted food=wasted money. Ugh, I kinda wish I could edit Miles' tip now. Why would he just leave without saying anything? That was extremely unprofessional and put a damper on the whole dining experience overall as we left just annoyed and feeling cheated of our money.
So anyway, long story long. Miles did well up until the end. He definitely needs to know for future reference that he can't just leave his tables without informing customers and handing them off to another server... or at least he shouldn't. And at the very minimum, check to see if there is anything they need before you just dip out!
