California Sandwiches

I have a friend who has been talking about this place for a long time, and last week, I went with my mom, and we had an excellent experience. We tried the eggplant sandwich. Next time, I think I'll ask for the sauce on the side because I prefer crispy sandwiches, and even when I loved the flavour of the tomato sauce, which wasn't sour at all, my sandwich got a little too wet, in my opinion. The eggplant was perfectly cooked. We also had coffee and tiramisu, which were excellent sizes, and everything was immaculate, including the washroom. The lasagnas, olives, and ice creams looked spectacular. By the way, I noticed that everyone sitting close to us ate all; there was no waste. By far u have the best tomato sauce in Toronto, and I am very picky about it. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this place and will be back

I used to love Calidofrnia sandwiches, but they became unaffordable over the years. I ordered one sandwich and a side of onion rings, which cost me almost 25 dollars. I'm not sure if it was worth the price. The food was very tasty, for sure, especially the marinara sauce in the sandwich…yum. Always make sure that you ask for extra. The rings were meh—the container was very small, so I think I only got… seven rings? The service was mid and so was the restaurant vibe.

I recently visited California Sandwich and had an absolutely incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, smiling faces that made me feel like I was in the heart of Brazil—friendly and inviting ladies. Michael was funny, caring and down to earth. The food is nothing short of spectacular. The authentic Italian flavors transported me straight to Nonna’s kitchen. Every bite was bursting with freshness and care, as though it had been made with generations of tradition behind it. I highly recommend trying their pasta and sandwiches—they are simply divine! The service was top-notch, and the welcoming atmosphere made the whole experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for delicious Italian food paired with outstanding hospitality, California Sandwich is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back!

Delicious sandwiches prepared with in-house marinara sauce. Many different protein choices including steak, chicken, veal, meatball, sausage, veggie and eggplant. Add veggies such as mushrooms and sweet peppers. All ingredients are fresh daily. I tried the steak and onion. It was perfectly cooked and everything tasted fresh. The marinara was very flavourful, no watered-down taste like other locations. Value is decent. This location also has ready to eat hot food on display including pastas or you can take home prepared pastas to go.

It's been a while but it's always soo good 😋. The sauce is amazing (forgot to ask for extra) and I also enjoyed their olives. Of course (like with everything) it's pricey but worth it. Return Dec/2024 ....soo good

What a let down. We had been travelling all day and were excited to stop here for lunch. This was the first time at this location and it was such a disappointment. Other locations you could hardly bite into the sandwiche because it was so full. This sandwich didn't even require the stack of napkins they provided. Never again.

I grabbed two of their veal sandwich’s, one spicy with the works and one non spicy. The sandwiches were mixed up and the spicy one did not have the works. over all the sandwiches were delicious and big portions. would highly recommend again.

A veal sandwich costs $13.99, and one of the girls charged me $13.99 for extra meat. When I went back another day, one of the girls charged me $18.49, and when I asked why I was being charged differently. She began speaking in a condescending and slow tone. The women who work here have such an attitude. When I tried clarifying how many pieces of veal come in the sandwich. Some locations do it differently. She gave me such an attitude and spoke to me like a child. I found other locations to be better. They give better portions and don't cheap out on large orders for families. This location is cheap as hell. I only came here because it's close to where I drive by for work. The owner of this location needs to get a reality check and stop hiring these women with clown faces. It's a restaurant, not a Sephora. Hire people with people skills.
