Calle Taco

This place has real tacos! I only ordered 2 at first because I didn't know what to expect but then had to order two more! They were amazing and flavorful. I tried the quesabirrias, taco de lengua, taco al pastor and taco carne azada. The cucumber agua fresca was also very delicious and fresh. Abraham was our waiter and he was very attentive and great in giving us good recommendations. I'll definitely be back.

Wow! This was our first stop for a late dinner after landing in Nashville. We were beyond impressed with how absolutely delicious the food was, as well as all the salsas! Don't skip the salsa bar! We got the vegan steak quesadillas, which is served with rice and black beans. We're here for a week and I may go back for lunch one day. They have a vegan section on their menu with other vegan items I want to try. Vibes were great, good music, fun crowd.

Great taste with some original tacos. I enjoy it a good deal. Good protein portions and the taste is spot on. Will come back. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming

The first time we went it was for our first day in town for lunch, it was pretty out so we sat outside. The bartender waited on us, he was the only visible employee and he was very helpful, knowledgeable on what was gluten free and gave us great service. The food... while I normally love a birria quesataco, this one was not my favorite, the meat was a bit tough/chewy and the consumme was pretty oily which made for pretty unpleasant dipping experience. My boys liked the chicken, carnitas and steak tacos. There is a salsa/topping bar which is interesting, but nothing is labeled and they have a number of options (some more easily identified than others). I would have loved to have seen some kind of crema as an option as most of the tacos didn't have any kind or cheese or sauce, but we went twice, so clearly was not a total deal breaker. Additionally, I was excited when went back for dinner on our last night to have a strawberry margarita, as the one I had the first time was great and the same bartender was there, but unfortunately, they were out of margaritas and my kiddos were told birria wouldn't be ready for at least a couple of hours (my boys ordered this time, I went with chicken). I really enjoyed the chicken tacos I had, and the boys liked their taco selections as well. All in all though, a fair option for tacos and conveniently within walking distance from our hotel.

Overall terrible experience. As soon as we walked in the door nobody greeted us we had to sit down for 10 minutes before anybody came to give us menus and bring us waters. At first it was a lady and then it switched to a man that looked like a manger to take our order. It took 30 minutes just to get 2 orders of cheese dip 1 salsa 2 tacos and an order of fajitas. He brings half the food then brings a taco out for the fajitas so we had to wait 15 more minutes for the correct order. The cheese dip was very cold the chips cold the chicken for the fajitas wasn’t even sizzling and no seasoning and looked like it wasn’t even cooked all the way. Also there was a bug in my cheese dip. We went in on a Saturday at 2am. Didn’t get our food until 2:50 then we didn’t really eat and just left. And we had to walk up to get our own check because nobody would bring it. Terrible experience wouldn’t recommend at all. -0/10.

Food was delicious, there were 4 of us we tried birria, pastor and the carnitas. Flavor was sooo good!!!! We've gone to taquerias in Mexico, and they definitely have the same vibe. Staff was friendly, the horchata was perfect. Would definitely come back.

Honestly about the greatest spot in the Gulch for late night. You are able to get food and drinks until 3am EVERYNIGHT! Samib and Micah are incredible bartenders and are super attentive. Every dish is on point, although this spot is used a lot for Uber eats the dinning space is great and should become your regular after Broadway place to come and hang out with your friends.

Came in from out of town looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant & was blown away by the pastor, asada, carnitas, and the rice/beans. Everything was served quickly, hot, flavorful, and ultimately was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had!! You will not be disappointed if you come check it out!! Ask for Carlos- his service was top notch!

It's crazy that this place does not have five stars! I've tried a few places this weekend visiting here and this is by far one of the top of my list! The food was delicious!!!! The tacos were DELICIOUS I had to order 2 rounds! I tried their pastor, steak, and carnitas! Pastor is my favorite. Micah the bartender was such a vibe! Service 10/10! Loved the cocktails!

Definitely wasn't a fan of this place. Came here after getting off work and wanted somewhere to sit down to grab a late night bite. Server was very nice, but he was so unsure about a lot of the things on the menu. Couldn't really recommend the most popular items. The tables weren't clean, so we had to wait for that. There was a lack of flavor all around food wise. I wasn't impressed with the Birria tacos. It was very mid to low quality wise. I do suggest giving it a try and see if your experience is better.

Came here on a Saturday and it was pretty slow due to the weather. The food was good, ordered starters and tacos. The service however, was lacking. Our waiter took Forever to take our order, left our drinks empty. Then after asking us if we wanted anything else, took forever to get our check. But overall, I'd order again but for take out. Also the restaurant had a strong floral smell like fabuloso

Absolutely the best tacos in Nashville. Great variety of meat and reasonably priced.

I have visited Calle tacos twice and I have liked them each time. The chicken and prawn taco are delicious but the best tacos are the fish tacos, they are lip smacking good. The service is very quick and served right at the table. The atmosphere of the restaurant is unique, since I have always visited this taco place at night, I found it a little too dark for a restaurant, I wish it were a little more well lit. The taco place has sufficient parking space outside.

Food 5 stars- amazing authentic flavor I will absolutely be back for the 3 for 2 taco Tuesday special Service 5 stars- it was 3pm when we went so slow time and the bartender was super friendly Ambiance- 3 stars, the music was very loud and aggressive, uncomfortable bar stools. I love the quotes and beer wall though! I will probably only go on taco Tuesday since it's a bit pricey for the tacos. We didn't order anything else but non-taco items seem like a better deal.

We are taco aficionados, so we loved the many taco places around Nashville. We loved the food at Calle so much that we ate here twice on our weekend trip to Nashville. We tried the carnitas, the birria, steak & gubernador (shrimp, cheese, poblano). They were outstanding and we loved the little toppings bar with fresh onion, cilantro, lime wedges and sauces. Their Agua Frescas were great, too! We will definitely be back!

Ran in here for some drinks and the workers are soo nice and helpful! They have me the best recommendations on here to take the girls to party! The restaurant is eclectic, laid back, but such a fun inviting atmosphere. I loved the vibes and would 100% go back!

The food here was great!! And I will definitely get food from here again, just maybe to go! We sat at the bar and service was extremely slow. Not to mention everything was sticky and didn't feel clean at all. Perhaps they just had a busy day and didn't get around to it! Regardless the tacos and bandera were awesome!

This place is legit Skip the wait at places nearby and walk in here for lunch. Best random find on a Monday afternoon walk.

Best late night food and drink spot in Nashville. Samib and Mika take care of us all the time. Food is delicious! Drinks are great! Samib found my ink-pen I lost LAST WEEK, and returned it when I came back.

We are at Calle Taco today. It used to be a favorite, but after today- no mas. We ate at the bar. The bartender asked what we wanted to drink and that was the only time. She was on the phone the entire time. We had to ask for any thing we needed. Silverware. Salt, an order of salsa- and her attitude was one of pure annoyance. Calle taco isn't cheap, so to be treated like that? What would you do? You ain't the only game in town. The food was not as good either. No one cared. Bye Calle!!

If you like gringo tacos this place will do. Not a big fan of paying extra for hot sauce (which it needs). Pictures came out pretty tho!

Very good taco place in the Gulch. The cashier messed up my order and gave me 5 tacos instead of $4 ($16.56 total after tax). The tacos were soft shell and flavorful. Each was served with different toppings and sauces. I got shrimp, carnitas, chorizo, and fish and I liked them all to varying degrees. I'd come back here for Nashville tacos.

Tried this place twice while visiting Nashville and it has been phenomenal! I tried the asada, chorizo and chicken tacos. My sister tried the shrimp and couldn't get enough. Best shrimp tacos in town since we tried other locations and they lacked flavor. We also had the homemade horchata and Mexican street corn. The girls working were really nice. It is definitely a chill place to eat and chat. The bar wasn't as busy as other places and affordable drinks. Definitely recommend.

Visiting from California and home to many authentic taco trucks....I was very surprised eating here! The food was very authentic and very flavorful! After eating lots of BBQ during our visit we needed a change and this hit the spot! Located walking distance from our hotel so we gave it a try and glad we did! Delicious tacos!! Friendly customer service. Highly recommend.

Great tacos! Ordered online a picked up. The corn is really tasty staff were very friendly as well and even let me try their horchata! Will be returning.

Over an hour for one quesadilla and there are 8 people here.... Yall... its all premade you just need to melt some cheese Prices not worth it for what you get Food not worth it for the wait Just bland and plain

Great food Service wasn't good, they messed up my order, had to ask more than twice for hot sauce, Tacos sin salsa no son tacos. They also forgot to serve our drinks and still charged us for it. Ambiance is calm, chill. Place is really nice its really reminds you of Mexico.

Amazing tacos and fast service, seems like a good place to hang out. Fries were good and so was the soda.

We waited 35 minutes for a dine-in order and food never came. 5 groups that ordered after us received their food. We asked the staff 2 separate times and it still did not come. Left without ever receiving it. Wasted our time. Very disappointed in the service.

Decent tacos--definitely more "Tex Mex" than traditional Mexican. Quick and friendly service, clean space, easy to find a spot to eat. Loved the chips/queso/salsa.

Incredible food! Some of the best tacos I've ever had. It has become a weekly staple for us. Very clean and they work really hard around here. It's been only good experiences here. Looks like they started some new things here and it's working.

I'm not sure that I could recommend Calle Taco to you in good faith. I thoroughly enjoyed my birria tacos, and the salsa and queso for absolutely delicious! However, this is my personal opinion. The people I went with didn't quite enjoy their food and my partner who'd ordered a side of fries, counted about 13 fries on his plate. If I returned to Calle Taco I'd probably have to do it alone and sit at the bar. This wouldn't be a location that you should take your food to go from, you should eat inside. The restaurant has a great vibe and their food will be best enjoyed while fresh and hot.

Loved. the food and the tequila...but the service was the best!! And that's why we will be back next time we are in Nashville!! Thanks for taking such good care of us!!

Definitely the best Mexican in Nashville!! Authentic and regional specialties. The salsa bar is great so you can customize your food to suit your taste. Everything is made fresh after you order. If I lived closer I would be here every day.

I waited an hour and a half for not even that much food the restaurant wasn't even busy. I don't recommend going here it's just highly unorganized.

I beg of you. Listen to the bad reviews. I ordered off of Postmates and we had to throw away most of the food. It was absolutely disgusting. We ordered fajitas, birria tacos, chips and salsa, fries and cheese dip. The only edible things were the fries, cheese dip, and chips and salsa. Really quite bad.

Way over priced, took too long for food order to come thru even though it was us and only a couple of people sitting at bar, food was not good tasted old and greasy! Only taco shop that was open late!

I'm coming out of town and saw this place from a youtube video and decided to give it a try.. the cochinita pibil taco is delicious my favorite was the quesabirria will and the jamaica water! Will come back!

We wanted quesabirria at nearly midnight. Calle taco was one of the only places open at that time. The line to place orders was pretty long. The lady who took our order was indifferent, she didn't smile or seem interested in placing our order. After placing our order, our food took nearly an hour to come out. The food was great!

Eh just ok. Not a lot of options available. The menu states gluten free tortillas but they never have them and the corn tortillas were not great.

After walking around the Gulch area finding so many place closed, we stumbled upon Tacos 1989. Such an adorable place, we sat at the bar to get a drink and a app. Went with the Hibiscus Margarita (Hibiscusrita), it was made so well. It was delicious, wish we had more time to hang out here and get another, but this was the perfect drink! Loved how everything was made in house, you really could taste that it was made with great ingredients. For a quick app, we went with the Bandera. It came with fresh made chips, guacamole, salsa and queso. Probably the best Queso I have had in months. I could have had this with a straw it was so good. The salsa and guacamole were also delicious. Honestly if you come here and don't order this, you missed out!!

Found this gem accidentally yesterday and I'm so glad! The menu is concise to showcase their fresh and authentic Mexican flavors. The restaurant is very spacious and the staff are absolutely wonderful. I went during the lunch period so a free drink was included but there was an issue with the POS machine so my lunch Burrito rang up as $10.89 instead of $9.89 (hopefully it's fixed in the future) but I wanted to show my support for a real Mexican owned business. The Carne Asada (but +$2) in is omg sooo tender but I preferred the Burrito more than the Chonco Bowl. The Tacos are the bomb! The prices are extremely higher than the average Mexican food on Nolensville Pike but they're in a prime location easily accessible to those working downtown Nashville. As long as they don't ever change their recipe, and include drinks in the lunch combos, I can see myself stopping in for a really satisfying meal 1-2x monthly when Im craving an authentic Mexican restaurant. Tip: Carpool cos there are only 8 designated parking spots PS - I'll update pics the next time I return cos I scarfed up my food before I could take any pics.

The food was amazing. Great atmosphere! Went here with a bunch of college buddies and really made the most of my Nashville experience.

Tacos 1989 was very good. A little pricy for street style, but overall very good. They had several weekly specials to take advantage of as well. Everything was very tasty, but the al pastor was the king!

Ordered one taco and one burrito bowl and waited for 30 mins!! And they still didn't have it ready!! Horrible, please do yourself a favor and stay away. Employees are clueless and do not know how to treat a customer!

Tried this new location in Madison! Food was really good (if you don't like sauce ON your tacos, be sure to ask for it on the side)! No margaritas at this location just yet. Service was good with a really great space as well!

Got a delivery' of this. Basically it's like getting food from a gas station. Ordered tacos and there was literally a teaspoon of meat in them. Got the nachos with guacamole, and the nachos were tortilla chips in a bag with a one ounce container of something green. Horrible. A bag of combos is better than this.

This place is reported closed by yelpers. Definitely not closed and has great service with very personable bartenders, and managers. Crispy birria tacos and margaritas with fresh lime, can't go wrong. Laura and Michael are the best :)

Pretty lackluster tacos. The Mexican food scene in Nashville is definitely meh, but this one is notably bad considering the price. Definitely look elsewhere.

Staff was extremely rude i got put out for taking a pic of this man who was on his phone by the bathroom talkin and walked over and grabbed my chips without any gloves. We ordered 3 different dips guac, queso, and salsa .... They gave us one bag of chips so when the chips ran out they made me pay extra $5 for a new bag of chips because we chose to eat outside. SUPER STRANGE because we shouldve got one bag of chips per dip. Then for me to pay $5 for chips and this man never washed his hands is even stranger ... prayers down

Kevin and Aamir were very nice and the food was so good!!! Def recommend to anyone trying to find a lowkey place away from central downtown.

Pretty much sub par everything. Tacos were greasy and much worse than a solid food truck. Orchata tasted like it was made in a grain bin without washing the dust off the rice lol. Plenty of taco spots, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Food AMAZING. Kind of a picky person with Al pastor and they surprised me. Their octopus taco is great as well. Service is friendly! Place is nicely decorated and very clean.
