Red-Sauce Restaurant Rao’s to Accept Reservations at New Miami Location | Eater NY

"I'm noting that Greenpoint’s Le Fond, a French bistro open for nine years, will close in October as chef-owner Jake Eberle and his wife move upstate to take over the North Branch Inn in Callicoon; Eberle has handed the space to Allyx Seemann, an early-days waiter at Le Fond who has worked in the kitchens of Jean-Georges and Nura." - Luke Fortney

We stopped here 2 mornings in a row. They have GREAT coffee! The place is very nice & open & clean & every single one of their staff was friendly & attentive. Their omelets are excellent. Cubed homefries were not deep fried, made the old fashioned way. And I love gravy on them, their brown gravy was homemade & SO delicious. Callicoon is a nice little town.

We came here for breakfast and were honestly disappointed. I ordered a Caesar salad, but it was drowned in store-bought dressing and didn’t taste good at all. My husband had an omelet with just three small pieces of meat, and unfortunately the meat didn’t taste fresh. On top of that, the only black tea option was Lipton, which felt cheap for a café. Service was also slow, even though the place wasn’t busy. Overall, the food quality and service really need improvement.

Best tasting veggie omelette and turkey sandwich. Nice view of the creek from the restaurant.

Every time I go here, I have an amazing time. The food is very fresh and the service is excellent. I’ve never had any inconvenience while ordering or getting the food that I want. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Google
Just ate here and it became my favorite restaurant. The vibes are so cutesy, it's outdoorsy and clean and beautiful. The food was unbelievably good, full of delightful flavor. Their hashbrowns and lemonade are the best ones I've ever had. The people were really nice and SO FAST. The music playing was perfect and set the vibe. I love everything about this place. Get the yogurt bowl it's amazing.

Nothing was right and I had to wait on myself! My order was wrong. No problem. things happen. The waitress only took the order. Never came back once the food was dropped at the table. I had to bring my plate up to the counter because the waitress was not around. The apple juice was apple juice colored water. I had to get my own coffee refill. I had to get the to go containers for myself and my guest. I had to go to the counter for the check. I left a crappy tip ($4), but honestly, that was too much. I was so looking forward to breakfast,A ND LEFT THERE ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED

Really lovely riverside cafe. Good prices, good food, friendly staff, good portion sizes. They have wifi and a good atmosphere. Very clean and nice. I had the breakfast burrito which was great. Would definitely go again

Google
We were dubious when we saw that the cafe was part of a gas station but decided to try our luck. The cafe is very clean, the servers are all friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed the avocado Benedict special. My husband got a pancake platter and was disappointed to find the eggs served on top of the pancakes. A side plate would have been helpful so he could season the eggs without also seasoning the pancakes. Our server was very young and did not check back to see if we needed a refill or anything else, but I could see the other servers were more attentive. I was happy to see lots of GF options for our daughter so I do plan to return with her.

Yelp
Conveniently located in the downtown area. Connected to a gas station, but the cafe itself is clean and charming and looks like a typical well-maintained diner. Lively on a Sunday morning in November right before the farmer's market, which opens at 11am in the adjacent lot. The cafe has beautiful views of the bridge and river from almost every table (and the bathroom). Unfortunately, the cafe's food was not good. One dish from the specials list had the same base item as was ordered, but served warm instead of hot, and with a topping that was just sweet and generic rather than the seasonal flavor advertised. The basic egg dishes were acceptable but nothing special. The fire alarm in the cafe went off during the meal. It happens. But staff did not acknowledge the alarm nor provide guidance to patrons in a timely way. (In a gas station!)

Yelp
This is my second time here and I really like their breakfast! It's also really pretty inside and has a nice view. There is a beautiful area right next door to walk around and take in the scenery.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast. I had eggs, bacon, and home fries with a pancake on the side. Service was great!

Yelp
Excellent and friendly service! Best "Chicken fried steak" my son-in-law had ever had! The pancakes, hashbrowns, sausages, and Chili were all excellent. And the views were great too! I would love to come here again!

Yelp
The food is good. Ours arrived as ordered. Crisp bacon with an omelette. The server was polite and offered extra coffee twice. There's a nice view of the river. The restaurant is clean

Yelp
A nice breakfast place attached to a gas station by the river. They were busy so the service was not that good. Our waitress wrote our orders down but forgot two items. Even though we reminded. It's not their fault. Small town maybe not use to the all the people passing by for the wedding. Food was good. Hash browns very good. French toast and my breakfast platter. Foods on point. Service could be better.

Yelp
Had breakfast, nice Delaware river and bridge view, ordered the breakfast special 2 eggs home fries toast sausage and bacon $15. Home fries were just cubed potatoes. The meats were both cold not cooked to order got the wrong toast and the coffee was burned But other than that it was ok.

Yelp
The Breakfast and Lunch sibling to Peppinos. My home away from home for breakfast and lunch! You can see your neighbors most days. To m, it is the Cheers of cafes.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch after we finally realized it was attached to the Shell station. Smallish place with large menu. Service was quick and food was excellent. Gyro and onion rings were as good as Greek places at home. Chicken noodle soup and chicken salad sandwich were vg. Good place. Will be back for a breakfast.

Yelp
Friendly & quick service. We weren't happy with our meat (steak was overcooked), but omelet, home fries, & toast were great. The carrot cake is to die for. Oh my goodness... get the carrot cake! Their carrot cake got me in the mood for more carrot cake and I tried getting it at two different bakeries after and was so disappointed.

Yelp
Love this spot. It's where all the locals go. Staff is always friendly and quick. No complaints. Kate was our server and she was a delight.

Yelp
We were the only patrons in the restaurant. I ordered French toast instead of the pancakes the came with the combo. I received pancakes anyway. For two people we were given a tiny cup half full of syrup. We also ordered hash browns and eggs and weren't offered salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce etc. The food was actually very good! It looked as good as it tasted. It was kind of expensive but that's ok because it was delicious However, there was three or four servers and they sat around at the "bar" talking very loudly about personal things. There was no background music or anything to even drown them out. I'd probably go back because the food is really good. But likely I'll be disappointed with the staff again.

Yelp
Food was delicious nice that there's a gas station right next door service was timely and it's really nicely done inside up to date and has a nice view of the lake

Yelp
AVOID. my expensive plate of faux Greek food was inedible. Ordered spinach pie. instead of sweet tender spinach it consisted of a mass of bitter tough fibrous collards. Cheese was not feta. No layers of flaky phyllo, but bottom and top of leaden undercooked greasy commercial pastry dough. "Greek salad" was shreddded iceberg leuuce, unripe tough tomato slices and a pile of not-feta that looked like vomit..others in my party tried to eat it but couldn't. Waste of money and I left hungry. All for top dollar.we had been coming here for 20 years, but I will never step foot in there again. People do KNOW when you substitute cheap ingredients for what was advertised.

Emily T.

Yelp
Good service, cheap cheap food and quality food. All eggs are local and fresh which was a great sell for me. 2 eggs, home fries and toast costs $4.95. It's attached to a Shell station but they feel totally separate. Classic feel, I'd definitely recommend.

Minna K.

Yelp
The caffe is next to the gas station but you wouldn't think that from the inside! The place is quite clean and nice. All the food was tasty - the chicken wings, pork souvlaki, and especially the country style french fries! Service was also very friendly :)

Yelp
Great views and service but the food is just at a normal level/ American diner style. Drip coffee, eggs, waffles etc. nothing to write home about but also not extraordinarily bad.

Mike W.

Yelp
Can't beat it! Great food for a reasonable price, with views of the Delaware! Thanks to the person who finally added this to yelp!
