The tri toon patio boat was awesome, the extra effort, they took with my elderly father to get him over to the boat rental office by water taxi and golf cart was great. The lake was so cool and the experience was well worth the money. The boat was clean, ran great and had a full shade front to back - couldn't have asked for more for a fun day- The young staff were pleasant and eager to help us and make sure they shared the same excitement and energy that we were putting out-I can't say the same for the individual who took the money and I made the reservation with- she was rude, short , angry and Should not be the first person you deal with when you walk in the door- other than her, it was a perfect and fun day on lake mead!!

The water level is low. But you can launch from here. Snack store seems to close at 4 pm, so make sure you bring supplies. You can rent boats of various sizes here up to those huge house boats. They have one with an elevator on it so you can get to roof levels. As well as a home unit a/c bar tv bed bath etc... It's a home on water. The thing is huge. They have about 6 different sizes of those boats alone. All the way down to just a pontoon party boat with seats. No bathroom. The drive out to the bay is pleasant. I just went out there just to get out of the house for a bit. From my house off Lake Mead and boulder hwy in henderson it is about 40 min away. You will have to pay to go onto lake mead national park. I have a year pass over 60 years old, cost $20 for a year at ANY NATIONAL PARK IN THE USA. It's a great deal. It even worked when I went to the grand cyn.in AZ

We rented a ski boat at Calville Bay - we had a great time! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us a quick primer on the boat itself and gave us instructions on what to do before, during and after. The price was great - even the drive to Calville Bay was wonderful. We will go again!

First time renting a houseboat. Rented 60' Eagle at the end of June 2021. The staff at Callville was friendly at each instance. Good communication leading up to our rental weekend. The lake is at "historically low" water levels , but there was enough water to go around, so to speak. Some muddy beaches but otherwise quite nice. Temperature was in the low 100's but the water was cool and clean. Husband grew up with a houseboat, I grew up with ski boats. Husband was losing sleep over the idea of negotiating this 60' mofo in and out of the slip. However Callville handles that for their renters. When you approach the marina you radio to them that you wish to come in, and why. They send you a pilot on a wet bike or ski boat. He boards and drives you in. They also provided a map of the lake and gave tips on where to go and not go. Such a relief. The orientation right after we boarded was quite thorough. Jody is their shining star. Delightful sense of humor, thorough, and patient. Answered all of our questions. I give 4 stars because the boat was not perfect. Ours appeared to be an older boat which had been remodeled. No water pump on the slide, 12V charger was not working and we were unable to inflate our paddleboards. TV was not getting a signal. However we pulled in day 2 and they quickly repaired those issues. My tips for first time houseboaters: >Make sure you are close with whomever you are renting. Very close quarters. You are living on top of each other. Ex) You have to turn sideways to allow a second person to walk down the hallways. The ladder to the flying bridge and slide is very steep and narrow. The walls are very thin. You can hear everything everyone is doing! >Include the price of fuel in your budget. The boat must be returned with a full tank. Our boat held a 265 gallon fuel tank. When we pulled in for repairs, we had 3/4 tank and decided to top it off. $148. We looked for a cool cove and found one where we stayed beached overnight. Running AC. When we turned the boat in, we were at half tank. $348 more. >Bring more bottled water, snacks, food, and alcohol than you think you need. We ran out of water day two. We were out of breakfast food the last day. And out of beer, mixers, and vodka the last evening. There is a lake store which offers some food and supplies, but the docking process burns fuel and takes a couple of hours. > Bring something to do in the water. Paddleboards, Paddleboat, Kayaks, Volleyball, Waterguns, Floating chairs. And something to do onboard at night. We were off-grid nights 2 and 3. No phone. No TV. >We arrived Friday night for early boarding to discover they had very few carts available. Their carts are like large plastic wheelbarrels you may load and with which you can roll your gear onto the boat. The water level is low, and it's a bit of a trek to the marina. There were 5 of us, each with supplies to bring aboard. Coolers, paddleboards, food, drinks, luggage. We found only one cart with a wobbly wheel. It was pretty awful. One of us had to stay with the vehicles while the other group tag-teamed loading the boat. It was hot and dark outside. Bring a flashlight and whatever hand carts you have available from home. If you don't need them, just leave them in the car. But it's worth bringing them in case Calville's carts are all taken. When we de-boarded, there were hundreds of carts available. We got our gear to the vehicles in one trip. Overall it was so much fun and very relaxing. We'll definitely do it again at Callville Bay Marina.

Had a great time visiting Lake Mead! The parking lot is a ways up from the dock and the walk can be quite strenuous if it weren't for the amazing gentlemen riding up and down in golf carts offering everyone rides to and from the parking lot and the dock! Thank you to those amazing men driving throughout the day in the heat, we appreciate it!

August 2017, # of us rented a fishing boat to enjoy the day on the lake. Great staff, blue skies, 100 deg, smooth water. Best $400 for a day trip spent.

I visited on Thursday, April 6, 2023. The place is open, though I'm not sure exactly what services they are offering. I only went to use the launch ramp to put in and take out a kayak. I drove right to the end of the launch ramp and parked on an adjacent dirt patch to unload everything. Then I had to drive partway back up the launch ramp to park. You can't park near the water's edge, but you also don't have to park all the way up in the parking lot. At the moment, the water's edge is right at the end of the concrete boat ramp (see photo). But there's a "pipe mat" extension laid out that allows backing a trailer into the water. I don't know what the size/weight limits are for this pipe mat. I did see a pickup truck back a trailer into the water to load a boat. I wasn't paying a lot of attention but it looked like a typical 15' or so power boat. Due to the ever-dropping water level, the layout of the marina is different from what is seen on the current Google Maps satellite view. The entire dock/slip structure has been shifted to the southeast and partly reconfigured. So the access walkway now begins near the end of the current launch ramp. It looks like they have a shuttle service (golf carts) between the upper facilities and the bottom of the boat ramp. There are push carts available to help you transport your gear to and from the boats in the marina. There are still lots of boats in the marina. In fact, it appeared that nearly every slip was occupied. If the water level gets much lower, however, I'm not sure what the future of this place is.

Great ramp with plenty of space. Can handle several trucks w/ trailers at once. Restrooms a 1/4 up the ramp in the car parking lot. Easy access up and down the lake.

We rented a house boat for the 4th of July. We got there 2 days prior to the holiday. Smooth no traffic not a lot of people. I would have gave a 5 star but the lady at the office desk was not helpful nor friendly. I understand it was hot but it was AC in the building. Just didn't want to answer questions. Not helpful. It was our first time there and honestly knew nothing about the place or boat. The 2 guys who did the orientation and the docking were so nice and friendly they made this easy! They gave clear direction advice and helpful!!!

We rented the 70' Titanium Mead Houseboat and had 11 people, the size was perfect. We came to Lake Mead during the off season, 09/23/2021 - 09/27/2021, which was perfect, still plenty hot but not many people on the water. I was not directly involved with booking, but the process seemed fine according to our organizer. We were particularly thrilled with Jody who educated our group on the proper use of the houseboat and dispensed tips on a happy living. In general terms, I really want to commend all the people we interacted with at this marina for their wonderful customer service during our houseboat trip. This is the best place to rent a houseboat from according to my friends who know what's up. Keep in mind, the boats are not pristine, BUT we had no arguments as our group had a blast! The waterslide, rooftop deck, BBQ, and DirecTV all got plenty of use. We did have a challenge with the engines not wanting to reverse, but our Captain was able to successfully find a great cove/beach to nestle into for a few days. The stress caused by the engine resulted in a star deduction. We had a memorable trip celebrating a 50th birthday and the houseboat experience was fun.

We rented 60"Eagle Houseboat from Callville Bay Marina with eight adults on 9/8/2023 for two nights. This was our 1st time boating on Mead Lake. Callville Bay Marina was an A+from the very beginning to the end and beyond! Check-in was efficient, easy and seamless. Lupe was friendly, patient and very easy going. Our orientation was with a qualified and experienced Houseboat Instructor. The boat was well appointed, comfortable and everything worked fine. Would we rent again? You bet! Would we recommend Callville Bay to everyone we know? Without any hesitation. Best vacation ever. Thank You Lupe. Regina.

I had no idea this place exist till our friends invited us here. We waited for a bit since there's a few of us and their boat can only take few passengers at a time. As we were waiting we enjoyed some Burgers, Chicken tenders, fries and some onion rings, all were properly cooked. While the food had a resort pricing (as expected) the waters were surprisingly affordable! This place is clean & well kept. Boats looks well maintained. Place has lots of fishes and ducks around. All the employees from the store to the rental area are very welcoming and helpful. They even have loaner vests in case you need some. No need to pay for it just make sure to return it. Pretty awesome if I say so myself. We'll definitely be back!

Great marina but thanks to covid there is no longer a water taxi which means from parking lot to boat lot it is a mile walk, is fine but in this summer heat especially when you get back being all day on the water, is tough. All very clean and maintained. Food place is closed and under construction July 2020.

This review is for services other than marina services. Our hiking group stops here to use the public picnic area near the ranger station. I have also been here for an iced tea or coffee when taking out of town visitors on the Valley of Fire to Lake Mead loop. The right side of the building has a mini mart type of set up with coffee, tea, and soda available. There's also a good selection of snacks and souvenirs. On the other side of the building is a restaurant with which I'm not familiar. The marina is about 4 miles from Northshore Road. As you drive in and back out, keep your eyes on the lookout for bighorn. Their habitat in the ridges near Callville makes getting to the lake for water an easy trip.

They are prohibited from working on your boat if you don't own a slip in the Marina - zero stars. Fuel prices are better than expected - 5 stars.

If I could give this boat rental company a NEGATIVE ZERO I WOULD. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOOKING WITH ANOTHER BUSINESS. However, if you still feel called to book a boat please read below. We dealt with this company for MONTHS ensuring our reservation was correct and secure. We called, emailed, and double checked that this was accurate due to the fact that we traveled all the way from California with a family of SEVEN. We booked a boat that was equipped to pull an inner tube and once we got to the marina after spending money on a hotel, rental car, food, drinks, etc. THEY BOOKED THE WRONG BOAT. So with a car FULL OF KIDS in 109 degree weather we were only allowed to have a boat with a slide and jump into the lake.... no activities, not able to pull anything, all the jet skis were rented out (even though there were PLENTY collecting dust on the marina). Once we found out that Wanda booked the wrong boat for us even AFTER confirming SEVERAL TIMES they had ZERO SYMPATHY OR CONSIDERATION. We travelled so far in the midst of corona and they tried to tell us that this was our fault.... THE WOMAN IN THE OFFICE NAMED, LUPE, WAS THE WORST FORM OF REPRESENTATION FOR THIS MARINA. She was rude, inconsiderate, and had THE WORST ATTITUDE for no reason. Have some compassion and understanding for a upset family. Don't tell me I booked the wrong reservation WHEN IT WAS CLEARLY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE BEHIND THE COMPUTER AND BOOK THIS RESERVATION. WE DID OUR JOB. DO YOURS. In the end, they basically left us with two options. One, refund the reservation and we leave. Even though we had travelled 6 hours, spent loads of money, and lugged all our stuff from the car to the boat deck. Two, give us half our money back and take THE WRONG BOAT OUT. THEN, we found out they ended up giving the correct boat we rented to other people!!!! SO OUR BOAT WAS HERE BUT DUE TO THEIR UNORGANIZED BUSINESS THEY GAVE OUT BOAT AWAY ON A FULLY BOOKED WEEKEND. OVERALL MESSED UP. I HOPE THIS MARINA CRUMBLES AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOOKING WITH ANOTHER BUSINESS. LUPE SHOULD FIRED AND WANDA NEEDS TO BE CHECKED OUT BECAUSE I DONT KNOW HOW SHE MESSED THIS UP. WOOOOOOORST OF ALL TIME.

The boat was exactly what we needed for our 14 person annual trip! The boat team/managers were very responsive and helpful with any issues that came up.

Overall a great experience. Houseboat was a little beat up but overall what I had expected and we had a great time. Staff was helpful and friendly and their water cooler and ac saved my life. Only feedback I would give them is to hire some young strong people to help us old people out moving our stuff from the parking lot or buy some golf carts. I just about died I think in the extreme heat and long journey back and forth from the parking lot. I would recommend based on my experience overall...

This was my first visit to this Marina but it will certainly not be my last. The boat selection, staff, and boats are second to none. I would recommend this over the other Marina at Lake Mead for sure. We rented two boats and were checked in and trained within twenty minutes of arriving and they had someone immediately ready to pilot us out. The staff gave a clear explanation of exactly where to go and how long it would take depending on which boat we were in. We took out a Patio Pontoon boat and a deck boat. While the Patio Pontoon boat is slow, it makes up for it with the water slide, the bathroom and the wet bar are. The grill on the front is also a game changer. Plenty of storage space and lots of shade. The deck boat fit plenty of people as well and ran laps around us in terms of speed, but that was to be expected. Ultimately, my only complaints would be the fuel seems a little expensive and the hours are short. We had to have the boat in by 4pm.

Amazing house boat trip with friends for the first time. Wendy was very helpful in getting us set up and prepared. Very fun experience and happy for the assistance we received along the way. Looking forward to making Callville Bay house boating an annual vacation.

My family and I have rented twice before this trip and it was excellent the first two times. This third time we rented we were supposed to have a double decker pontoon boat (which we received) and a speed boat with a tube. Although when we got to the marina we particularly had a problem with Wendy. She greeted us with an attitude and told us we were not allowed to drive the rental boat unless we had a boating license. Which my brother is the only one that did so therefore we couldn't get the speed boat because she wouldn't allow my 52 year old father who has driven the boats in years passed here on the lake drive this time. She also didn't allow us to have the speed boat because they said we couldn't switch people back and forth when yet again we have done it before. And she tried to tell us the rules stayed that way since 2016 although we were here in 2018 when these rules didn't apply. Then when we tried to receive our money back for the speed boat she said we were not allowed since it wasn't 72 hours in advance we can only move the day, so we then planned to move the day then just cancel it but she said no there is no cancellations. Overall, the lake and pontoon was beautiful but Wendy was rude right from the start before we even had the problems with the boat. They need to make sure there contracts are clear before people book.

People were nice boat ran well. Only thing that was weird, they charges us like 10 bucks for oil use lol. Also dumpsters were overfilled and smelled horrible

DO NOT IGNORE THE VERY ACCURATE BAD HOUSEBOAT REVIEWS POSTED HERE!! We did and we regret it. Rented a 70' houseboat (advertised to sleep 12 people) for 5 days/4 nights late September 2020 at a rental cost of $7,200 plus fuel. We arrived at the marina excited and ready to have fun! First red flag. There are beds for 8 people plus 2 old fake leather coaches in the living room that do not become beds. How does that add up to a boat that sleeps 12? Correct, it does not! One person on each old couch (we were given 4 blankets total so the couch people only got a flat sheet to cover with. And thank goodness we only had 10 people. Oh well, we're here to have fun. No worries. Second red flag. The generator (which powers toilets, lights, microwave, oven, A/C, jacuzzi etc) failed the very first night of our trip. But don't worry.....there's a backup generator. Never mind, start worrying, The backup generator wouldn't stay on for more than 10 minutes!!! So we're up all night in the hot, pitch dark, no bathrooms, no fridge/freezer, fumbling around, trying to restart generators. Important fact- The marina turns over total responsibility for their boats on the lake to the National Parks Service every night at 5:00 until 8:00 am. The National Parks Service will only step in for medical emergencies or life and death situations. So you are on your own! Third red flag. 8:00 am finally arrives and we start radioing the marina for assistance. They are very slow to respond and not very concerned or responsive. We've now had no generator power on our boat for 6 hours in Nevada summer heat. We are tired, uncomfortable, concerned about food spoiling, etc. And we're paying $1,400 A DAY for this! Spoiler Alert. They never got our generators working properly. We never got a single nights sleep and we struggled throughout the entire trip due to poorly maintained, old equipment. The mechanics, pilots and dock workers were nice and trying to help but admitted the boats are really old and "we've been trying to get new generators". They brought us oil for US to add to the generator each time it went out. Really? WE have to open up floor hatches and crawl around to add oil to your faulty equipment so we can power the boat that we're paying you $1,400 a day for???? I finally asked to speak to a manager and "Chelsea" came out of her office like she was doing us some sort of huge favor and we were complaining about nothing. Very rude, unhelpful and condescending. So we got really good at not sleeping, adding oil, priming pumps and doing our best to keep a generator running and then.......the AC unit breaks on our last night. So now, even if/when we can keep a generator running we STILL don't have AC. The contract you sign (and they highlight) states no refunds for early return of boat or for lack of use due to mechanical or other reasons. SO....BUYER BEWARE. It's ALOT of money for a lot of aggravation. I realize things break. Especially boats. But this is a situation where management is aware of the bad condition of the boats and equipment and flat out doesn't care.

Don't book here!!! We booked the large pontoon boat here for this upcoming weekend. This was booked over 2 months ago. We just received a call today (wed) that our boat had been overbooked for this Sunday and that they have to cancel. We have people flying in from out of state, reserved babysitters, etc and we're told "sorry". How did they let this go so last minute?? What horrible customer service!!!

rented they're most expensive luxury 75 foot extreme houseboat for 5 days. it cost us $10,000. the air conditioning would not go below 88 degrees from 11am till 9 pm. front lower cabin and captains cabin was extremely hot the entire trip. They're excuse is always that its doing the best it can. Also were sent out without the 2 queen inflatable air matresses so 4 people had to sleep on the floor. They Offered me a $700 credit if i rented the same boat for 5 days next summer... Weve rented the smaller 60 footers each year over the last 6 years and every year the same excuses about the air conditioning..they know these air conditioners are too small to keep up with the heat in the summer and never do anything to fix the problem cause they have a monopoly on all houseboat rentals on the lake.

Just like Russ wrote below... we had a nice time with our family BUT a terrible experience with the houseboats (we rented 2 for July 4-7) and customer service. From the beginning, we should have known we were going to have problems. As we were driven off by one of the employees, we noticed our AC was not working properly. When we asked the employee, he said to flip the breaker when we parked, and if that didn't work, to call them on the radio and they would come out and service the boat. WELL, it didn't work and despite numerous distress calls, NO ONE CAME AND NO ONE ANSWERED. Not only was our AC not working, our fridge was barely working. Most of the raw meats and all the milk all went bad!!!! My 2 year old vomited for a day because I was giving her spoiled milk! 2 grandparents and 3 babies were on board, along with toddlers and kids all under the age of 12 were split between 2 boats, and unfortunately, all the babies were on the boat that was not running properly. The AC went on an off from that point on but never fully worked- we never got over 88degrees and at the highest it was 97degrees indoors and that is not acceptable! We had to keep everyone in the waters and outdoors until very late every night when it would cool down to a bearable temperature. Another big issue was the engines. Within 1.5 hours of us taking off, one of our houseboats right engine went out, and then the second houseboat had an engine go out as well. So we had to dock our boats and we never got to move from that position after. We were stuck in that place for all 4 days! We never got to drive our houseboats around to explore the areas that were recommended to us by the staff member who had drove us off the dock. On Friday early evening, after dozens of radio calls that were ignored, we finally had 1 of our family members (my brother in law) drive the only jet ski we had out to dock to speak to someone about helping us repair/replace the boats, buy more food and to pick up bags of ice to keep our (new food and) remaining perishables that had not gone bad, cool. James, the manager, came out and told our family member that someone would be sent out that day. NO ONE CAME UNTIL THE NEXT DAY, LATE AFTERNOON SATURDAY. Mind you, we got there Thursday and left Sunday. When we returned the boats today, I asked to speak with the manager to let them know about all our issues, and more importantly, the lack of care and customer service provided by this company. The response and attitude we got from the "manager" James, was the most shocking and disappointing experience out of this whole situation. He was completely unprofessional, and I felt like I was arguing with a child. He threw his arms up and shrugged his shoulders in a way you would when you tell someone "oh well, I don't know, I don't care" way. He blamed us for the lack of help/service and lack of promptness from their staff. He said that when my BIL showed up, he didn't make it sound like it was an issue that needed to be dressed promptly or ASAP. My BIL had told James we were be there until Sunday, so James assumed they would fix and repair all the boats issues after it was returned on Sunday (today). This assumption and his customer service skills are atrocious and lacking. He obviously has no compassion or care after our money has been paid. There were many faults from this company during this whole trip. If things were done with a little more care and concern, this situation could have all been avoided. 1. When we took off and the employee noticed the AC wasn't working, he (or upper management) should have radio called us to follow up to ask if we got it to work. 2. They could have answered 1 of our dozens of distress calls. 3. They should have followed through and sent someone to us on Friday when we had our family member drive to the dock to physically ask someone in person to send help. 4. James could have at least apologized and heard our concerns and issues and addressed them. I understand problems and issues with renting anything can arise, but I'm not even writing this review based on that, nor did I even address any of those issues to James when we checked out-- like how the boats were so old and worn out, spider and bug infestation (webs all over), broken swim up ladder, container of marijuana found in one of the bedroom cabinets. I really wanted to just address the basics that should have been working and provided to us on the houseboats for the amount of money we spent, which was over $9,000. Our fridge and AC should have been working properly and they should have responded to our calls for help! Our experience with this company was absolutely horrible and we totally feel ripped off. After they take your money, you are basically on your own!

Had dinner here at the grill/lounge. The place was pretty quiet -- only a couple of people there. Service was friendly. The bartender was nice and delivered our food to us fairly quickly. The food itself, though, is as average as it gets. Typical bar food. I had their fish and chips. It wasn't bad but not exactly noteworthy, either. Prices are fair. Look to spend about $10 per head with a soda or tea. More if you get booze.

We have used them on a couple occasions now and honestly they are easy to use. Gets the job done. Not usually a horrible hassle. Girls in the office aren't always nice but being in customer service sucks so I get it. Will definitely be using them again.

We had a wonderful family houseboat vacation at Lake Mead, in spite of the fact that the craft we rented from Callville Bay Resort & Marina was not nearly as well appointed and maintained as their web site indicates. The houseboat was old (about 14 years old) and several things did not work. The AC was inadequate and the refrigerator did not work for the first 4 days. They advertised ice makers in the kitchen and at the bar on the top deck. The one in the refrigerator did not work and there was no ice maker upstairs. They advertised satellite TV. It never worked at all. None of the tank level indicators worked, so we never knew how much water was available nor the remaining capacity of the black tank. The staff at the office was responsive, but they can only do so much with a worn fleet of boats.

Its close, food is reasonably priced and you have a nice view. It works for me. :)

Wendy and Chelsea in boat rentals were extremely helpful. The entire marina staff was able to get us squared away whenever a minor issue came up with our houseboat.

Very nice Marina. Easily to launch your boat. Great places to hang on the lake. The only negative is that you can only launch 1 vessel at time which makes the wait really long. Once you've launched it's all good, but then waiting again to retrieve your vessel is another long wait. The golf cart guy is awesome to have around to give you a ride up and down the hill to the parking lot and dock. Give him a good tip. It's great especially when it's triple digits.

This review is for the houseboat rentals. My family and friends rented a houseboat for the weekend of 9/16/16 as a surprise birthday party for me. The party itself was great, the weather was awesome, the lake is beautiful and there are many cool little coves to moor in overnight. The boat itself was kind of a hot mess. I know these things take a beating from Spring Breakers and all, but they seem kinda poorly maintained overall. The boat we rented was built in 2003, so 13 years old...and you could tell. Still, it would have been a cool place to stay....***IF*** raw sewage hadn't come bubbling up the shower drain on day #2!! The bathroom was flooded in sh*t because they had failed to empty the black water tank before we took it out; when my friends first got onboard they noticed the water tank light was on, and asked the attendant about it; he said it just indicated that our fresh water tanks were full, and we were good to go. WRONG! About 12 hours later the poop started spewing out. My brother and one of my friends had to clean it out, which was a) GROSS, b) unsanitary and c) potentially biohazardous.....and not the way we wanted to spend the afternoon. By the time we radioed in to discuss, drove the boat back to the marina to have the tanks pumped and the shower bleached, and returned to our cove, 5 hours had elapsed. But at least the toilets did work after this, and no more poop came up the drain. The smell of poo lingered, however. To their credit, the Forever Resorts people did give us a discount -- half a day for free, plus the gas it took us to go back to the marina. But I felt this was slightly chintzy -- we should have gotten a full day for free, as gross as the situation was. The black water was the worst problem, but not the only issue. According to my friends who piloted the boat, the trim tabs on the motor didn't work properly, the fly bridge steering didn't work (they think the steering system was leaking hydraulic fluid), the starboard navigation light was hanging off the side of the vessel, and the fresh water fill plug was missing, meaning the "fresh" water could have been contaminated. All this being said, the accommodations on the boat weren't bad and we mostly had a great time. The a/c blew cold, the refrigerators and appliances all worked, and there was plenty of space for all of us. I'm just posting this as an FYI -- if you do rent a houseboat here, be advised that they are old-ass beaters with issues....so a thorough inspection prior to departure is definitely in order!

We were taking the scening route on our way back from the Valley of Fire around Lake Mead. This location on the map from the park said there was food facilities. Ok then. Let's try it. Well, big mistake. I think there was one girl working behind the bar area and the dining area. We had to wait for the table to be wiped off. No problem. I was starving and had quickly chosen off of the menu what I wanted. But where is the waitress? So we waited and waited. Finally she came and took our drink order and food order. So we waited and waited for our food to come out. When it did, half of the order came out from the kitchen behind the bar. One person had their food while the rest of ours was no where to be seen. Hmm. Strange. About 15 minutes later the rest of our food order came from another kitchen. Goofy. So their nachos.... blah. Just chips with cheese drizzled on the top. That's it. Maybe they should change the name of that menu item. Chicken Wings.... tiny. I mean tiny. Turkey Sandwich was ok. Side of fries were just Ore-Ida crinkle fries dropped in their fryer. So lesson learned. Just wait to get back into town to eat or take your own food. It would've tasted better for sure.

On Saturday April 29, I made Callville Bay Resort & Marina my Las Vegas day adventure. Callville Bay Resort & Marina is close to Las Vegas. From town head east on Lake Mead Boulevard or Lake Mead Parkway/ State Route 564 into the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Make a left on North Shore Drive. Approximately 12 miles from the intersection with Lake Mead Boulevard, turn right on Callville Bay Resort. It is 4 miles ahead. Parking is abundant. I recommend parking at the large paved parking lot near the lodge. The walk down to the main marina is a walking Kodak photo spot. And the walk uphill from the main marina is great exercise. Callville Bay Resort & Marina features two marinas: the main marina at the terminus of Callville Bay Road and a north marina that is accessible by an unpaved road originating from the lodge parking lot. The main marina is where all the action is. The action ranged from older folks strolling on the dock with their grandchildren to party people drinking in their water craft. Blending in with all this action was water fowl living their life on Lake Mead. The north marina seemed more laid back. If I was comparing it to the MGM Grand, the main marina would be the main MGM Grand casino and the north marina would be the Signature at the MGM Grand. Whether you are here to sight see or party, the general public is only permitted at the beginning section of the two marina docks. The message is that the marina customers are welcome. Fortunately Callville Bay Resort & Marina offers so much over and above water craft activities.It offers minutes of Kodak photo spot Lake Mead scenery and hours of hiking. Here, Lake Mead is magnificent. As soon as you approach the end of Callville Bay Road and see Lake Mead with the statuesque mountains, you will be like "wow!" There are several view points to take in Lake Mead. The public sections of the dock bring you over Lake Mead. From the north marina, sightseers will glance at a very clear Lake Mead. The water is so clear that you will see to the bottom, see fish, and vegetation. Kind of reminded me of the Florida Keys. The back of the lodge offers a picture post card view of Lake Mead. The hiking opportunities are unbelievable. I spent hours exploring them. A recommended easy hike is walking the unpaved road from the Lodge parking lot to the north marina. With the exception of a steep incline immediately after the laundry facility and gas pump, the terrain is flat. On the hike, keep your eyes open for a canyon road adorned with telephone poles that cross between the two curves, and several feet further on the left a side trail. The unpaved road concludes at the north marina. Before turning back, take in all the Lake Mead vistas. Here the water is so clear, and you will see views of the main marina and the lodge. If the snack bar is open, this is a nice spot to grab a snack. Walking back, I suggest walking the relatively short trail that will now be on your right. This is a nature trail that concludes at a very peaceful Lake Mead that is more populated by birds than water craft. If the weather is nice, I STRONGLY recommend the West Wash Road Trail. Before the last curve, look for a canyon with telephone poles. If you are up to hiking it, turn right. The West Wash Road Trail parallels Callville Bay Road. It is approximately four miles one way to the North Shore Drive tunnel. A first impression is that it is dull. Minutes into the hike, you enter a canyon that travels through a narrows that gives Valley of Fire State Park a run for its money. This hike alone is worthy of a separate review. From my experience walking along the edges of West Wash Road Trail offered the most rewarding sightseeing and shaded segments. Callville Bay Resort & Marina, is more worthy of the name Callville Bay Campground and Marina. I was expecting this grand lodge. Lodging appeared to be a campground. The lodge itself is small. The concession store was closed by 6 PM. on Saturday. All the vending machines were out of service. There is a restaurant that is on the expensive side. And for the record, the fuel station is a no-name fuel pump (don't know how you purchase fuel when the concession store is closed by 6 PM.). It was getting dark when I left near 7 PM. My day adventure concluded as I drove into the sunset headed back to Vegas. Please note: I uploaded several pictures to this business listing.

Great place and the staff are friendly. The views of Lake Mead from the restaurant are beautiful!

This review is for the Bar and Grill on the property. We stopped here for lunch on day of sightseeing and were pleasantly surprised at the experience. I ordered a Mushroom and Swiss Burger and Diane had the "Double Dip" Sandwich. The operative word at this place is Huge! The "Double Dip" was a Huge version of a French Dip. My Burger was Huge and an order of Homemade Potato Chips was beyond huge! Our food was good, but the star of the meal was the Potato Chips! They were light and crispy without being at all greasy. We would return here just for those darn Chips! Service was very friendly and they are wheelchair accessible!

Pretty good food. Basics burgers and sandwiches. But prepared fresh and well. Top area has full bar and there is a golf cart shuttle to take you up the hill if you call. Great views from the top

The overall experience was a solid five, but the company isn't the most ethical I've dealt with and there are unaddressed safety issues which are likely to be the responsibility of the National Park Service but were not mentioned by the staff at Callville Bay. We rented a 59' houseboat from Forever Resorts at Callville Bay for three nights with the first night being an "early check-in" and spending the night at the marina. I'll focus on the negatives because they are safety and cost related. Safety: The American Southwest is having record drought conditions and Lake Mead is losing water at a rate of 4 to 6 feet PER DAY right now. While we were there, there was a loss of over 100 vertical feet as marked on the canyon walls. Because of this, the buoys are on top of cliffs and the VHF radio does not reach the marina once you're past the next cove or the National Park Service at all. If you have engine trouble, just a question about the boat features, or an actual medical emergency, you're SOL. There is zero cell phone reception out in the canyons. Cost: You run the boat up on rocky beaches to spend the night. There is no motoring after sundown and you have no anchor. You release the boat by rocking it with the engines in very shallow water. It's nearly impossible to do this without nicking the props and, *SURPRISE*, when you turn the boat back in, you're responsible for even minor damage to the props to the tune of hundreds of dollars that the insurance doesn't cover. I did manage to get the prop damage fees waived because we lost our starboard engine the first morning we tried to get out of a cove. Instead of being able to radio in and have a repairman come out, which is what they say they will do 'in the event of', we spent the better part of the day getting our boat off the beach and getting back to the marina. We had to put everyone who could push in the water, then limp back with only the port engine in very windy conditions back to the marina for a quick repair. With that out of the way, the boat itself was great. It was well-appointed, comfortable (for a boat), spotlessly clean, and had everything you needed to enjoy several days out on the lake except food and drink. The folks who do the orientation, repairs, and pilot you out of the marina were all fantastic. The lake was gorgeous, the views were incomparable, and it's a unique vacation experience that my family will never forget.

I really want to commend all the people we interacted with at this marina for their wonderful customer service during our houseboat trip. This is the only real place to rent a houseboat from if you live in the Las Vegas area and they are all exceptional people. I understand that rental boats are probably a lot different than rental cars because they're exposed to different types of environment and anyone with some common sense can tell that water, waves, sun, and heat aren't the best to things so I anticipated that things wouldn't be "perfect" but I was pleasantly surprised with how well things went. We have no boating experience and I assume that may be the case for others so unfortunately the issue we ran into while we were out was due to our own issue - we were unfamiliar with how the engines operated and when you're on a huge houseboat that can be really daunting and frustrating to deal with but we were able to radio in to the park service that we needed help and the marina was going to send someone out right away but we were able to figure out that it was actually our issue. I'm really glad that I didn't put too much faith into the negative reviews that I see here because this is a pretty large place, the boat rentals office is separate from the stores (there's two!), and also separate from the mechanics shop, which is separate from marina slips and who knows who people ended up interacting with. Our houseboat trip was great, the memories we made were wonderful and our kids will remember them forever!

This place is a gem!!! Great food, music, and tequilla sunrises!!!! It's by the marina. It has a full convenient store with apparel, groceries, snack bar and boat/camping supplies to purchse. The Lounge us awesome, great food and company. The bartender, Patty is friendly and a plethora of knowledge for the area. Especially 8f this is ur first time here. Go out and see Patty tell her Sam said hi!!!!

Callville Bay resort has almost everything you need when visiting Lake Mead. They have a store for food, ice and some clothing items. Also a lounge/restaurant. The food is good. After 5pm the lounge only offers fried food and that is ok.... pick the chicken fingers with fries that will fill you up. It's good with ranch dressing. The lounge also offers everything you would want to drink and has big screen TV's for sporting events. On most holiday weekends they have a band playing in the lounge. The Marina offers all sizes of houseboats for weekend to week long rentals. They also offer rentals by the day for the smaller day cruiser boats. If your bringing in your own boat you will need to pick up a Lake Mead sticker which is valid all year. Gas is available on land as well as the water. Gas prices are less on land than the water but still reasonable. They also have plenty of hook-ups for the RV crowd and open all year at their camp grounds.

This is a review of the RESTAURANT ONLY! I am always on the hunt for a quiet get-a-way that's good for either a lunch with my wife or a place where I can flip open my laptop and get some work done out of the office for a few hours. The 5 things I look for (each getting a star on my rating scale include: 1. An escape from Las Vegas - YES (it's on the north shore of Lake Mead) 2. Decent food and drinks - YES (it's basic cafe food burgers, sandwiches, pancakes and eggs PLUS, if you want an adult drink they have a full bar) 3. Inexpensive food and drinks - YES (complete meal for $10) 4. Free Wi-Fi - NO (bummer) 5. Comfortable place to sit for a few hours - YES (seats are comfortable at both the tables and the bar) This place has everything except for Wi-Fi and normally that would be a deal killer for me as I usually need an internet connection in order to get my work done. That said, they have a really good cellular signal (I use Verizon) so I'm I'm get a very good hotspot using my phone. I also like that there's a nice outdoor feeling especially if you get a window seat overlooking the marina and Lake Mead which is usually available. The surrounding area is great for a walk and if you get motivated, you can head down to the marina and rent a power boat for an hour or more on a moments notice. Plan about an hour drive to get to Callville Bay and you will need to pay the National Park fee to enter the Lake Mead Recreation Area so it's best to have an annual inter-agency pass which also gets you into Red Rock Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce National Park and the Grand Canyon -- all places I go to regularly and you should too :)

Worst experience ever! Boat was a piece of junk. We had M3 the 70' boat and it was so dirty, had a rat on it and there were piss ants everywhere. Hot tub did not work at all and then both motors quit and we were stranded and it took forever for them to come get us. Could not get anyone to answer us on the radio. We ended up leaving a day early because the boat was so nasty and such a piece of junk and they would not give us a refund or anything. Would NOT recommend!

Reviewing just the restaurant at the marina... We stopped here for lunch driving from Valley of Fire to Hoover Dam. Its just 4 miles off the main road. This is a nice-sized restaurant that remind me a lot of a 19th hole at a golf course country club. The menu was typical of such places--burger, sandwiches, fries, etc. The food was good and in generous portions. The service was very friendly and attentive. For the only restaurant in the middle of nowhere---what more could you ask for?

We rented a 59' Eagle houseboat for a few days. During the walk thru we were told that the ice maker didn't work and were given a few bags of ice. Later to find out the refrigerator and freezer didn't work either, as well as the lights in the kitchen and dining area. The port side engine worked only intermittently the first day and then quit working entirely. There were rails broken in the back deck that would cause safety concerns if traveling with small children or a pet (we were not). That being said it was still a good trip, a lot of fun was had, and the views are spectacular. I recommend a full walk thru, they had other boats just sitting there and had we been able to notice things right off we could have switched to a less problematic boat. Live and learn.

This is for the pontoon and patio boat rental. I've rented a few times from them before. Each time has been efficient and staff helpful. I like that this marina has the wheel barrels to use, which makes it so useful. I have no complaints on their pontoon and patio boats. We never have a problem with the equipment. If you do, there's a radio to contact the marina for any assistance. We love lake days and will continue to use their services.

Callville Bay rents a lot of houseboats through Forever Resorts. We did a houseboat for Spring Break of my senior year of college and it was one of the best trips of my life. The lake is beautiful and there is a lot to explore. It wasn't hard for us to find quiet coves to wakeboard in. The lake is only about 45 min. outside of Vegas, so we did a night on the strip before and after our houseboat rental. The houseboat itself was a floating party. It was a 65 ft. houseboat with a jacuzzi, wet bar, and waterslide on top. Here are a few tips: 1. Watch out when you are running around the hot tub wasted out of your mind at night, it's slippery. 2. Careful how much gas you use on the houseboat. They charge you for it, and it's expense. It is cheaper to stay close to the marina. 3. My drunk friends decided that putting shampoo in your hair and then going down the waterslide is basically the same thing as taking a shower. 4. The roof of the houseboat is a good place for a keg toss competition. 5. If you wear speedos on a houseboat, the pictures last forever. (that's why they call it Forever Resorts)

We rented a deck boat for the day and this was definatly the best experience i have had. I forgot the ladys name in the rental office she was amazing and Bob who went over the boat was awesome!! They were also very helpful when i asked for good places to go on the lake. It was by far the best expereince ever! I will definatly be back in the next month or so.

"You know what they say: People in glass houses sink sh-sh-ships. " Nice employees, decent prices, great location (close to Hoover Dam for your Jet Skiing and Boating) and the equipment was fairly new and not falling apart like most rental places. The people were very helpful in any questions we asked. Would/will return again.

Is it possible to give negative reviews? While the experience on the rental pontoon boat wasn't bad the service after sure was. We went in April which was the first week of spring break, when we returned they "filled the boat" with gas. They must've filled the boat and probably 8 empty cans. it cost us $150 in gas for the two hours we used the boat. Today we went to the other Marina at Lake Mead and had the pontoon boat for 8 hours and only stopped a couple times to jump in the water. Gas cost us $30. I'm appalled that Callville would do such a thing. What thievery they practice. Definitely do your renting from Las Vegas Boat Harbor.

Worst experience ever!!! DONOT rent, move on to the next rental!!!! Yvonne was rude from the beginning of the experience! She didn't tell us their marina was an extra 30 minutes from the main Lake Mead entrances. When we called for additional direction she was short with us and hung up! Yvonne charged us for a full half day eventhough by the time we got there l we would only have 3 hours. Yes that's right, it takes an hour for them to make you sign all the waivers and then a guy to show you instructions to use the boat. The ironic part about paying for the guy to show us instructions, he made sure to tell us how to use emergency radio... which ended up being non-operational! And we called customer service from our cell phone which transferred us to a specialist who confirmed the radio was indeed non-operational! They transferred us directly to the marina who was no longer answering their phones! When we called the customer service number again we received a message that they were closed and to leave a message. I called my credit card immediately and told them to dispute the charges for after hours boat rental. And we had to call 911 to ask for help, we were stranded in the middle of Lake Mead! And besides the boat not operating properly the seats and cushions were ripped and tattered the boat was a mess! After contacting 911 and asking every boater and jet ski we could find, we finally found the marina and the service guy told us, "shit happens"... really?? We've been stranded for an hour and half and "shit happens??" Wow!!! I don't know about you but I work hard for my money and this excursion cost us a pretty penny. Shit happens right! And then the manager Yvonne comes out and is rude and unapologetic and threatens to call security on me because I told her I am disputing the charges with my credit card $325 for bringing the boat back late! Wow and wow!!! Do not rent from this shit hole or from Calle Ville Bay period!! Another patron told me Yvonne runs the marina. You should see the size of the rock on her finger!!! Nice ring bought with stolen money from poor smucks like me and my friends just trying to enjoy our day off from work. We are locals!! Horrible experience! Beware my friend!

Callville Bay Marina rentals have a great selection of shoes for which to choose, a knowledgeable team of people to help you out and do educate the nautical novice. Safety first is their motto, as they ensure that everybody goes out on the lake and has a safe yet fun time.

Always a pleasure to rent boats from them! They do require the boats back a litle earlier than I would like (usually 4 or 5pm), but overall a great experience!

This issue is for the boat slip rental. If there is a negative rating i would rate it. I don't think this marina especially the management don't even deserve a star!!! When i came by to drive and check the boat for a run, i paniced coz' my boat was misssing!!! Was about to call the marina manager and finally infound my boat and it was parked on the wring slip. Called the office , people there told me they don't know what's going on and they'd give me a call back. No return call recieved so ine mailed susan which is the manager , and told her the story and how come my boat was moved without notifying me??? She apologized and told me she'll look into it. 4!days passed we went on a sunday still i'm in a same wrong slip with unmaintained slip, lots of bird poop, faucet coroded, remnants of the hydro slip from a previous renter was still there! Renting a boat slip is not that cheap i pat $340 for a 20 ft pontoon boat to be covered per month and this is what i get???

Rented a houseboat for my friends and I this past weekend for a relay race event that was happening along the route. The staff was super friendly and really accommodating with our schedule as far as checking in and out. The boat itself was great. I've never stayed on a houseboat before and this thing was pretty well equipped. I'm definitely coming back to take full advantage of the lake and all the amenities next year.

We went to Callville in July 2010. The drive to get there was about 12 miles from the entrance into the state park. The drive was on some very winding roads but beautiful and so worth the time. The people at Callville were super nice and helpful. Because there are other marinas that are closer to Vegas this one seemed to have few, if any, tourists. The patrons were mostly from around the area. Manda happily answered all of my many questions on the phone the day before we went there. When we got there she explained everything fully and took a little extra time with us to show us some cool places to visit on the map. I used to go to another marina to rent boats and jet skis when in Vegas. Instead, I will only be going back to Callville. I was only able to get a local number to this marina by calling Forever Resorts (Forever Resorts only takes reservations for the houseboats). The number I called is different from the one listed here on Yelp- it's 702.565.4813.
