Ca’Lucchenzo

I was so excited to try this place when I heard they had homemade pasta with a rotating menu so that there's always something new to try. First off, the focaccia was hands down the best bread I've ever had in my life. It was so soft with the perfect amount of seasoning/salt with olive oil for dipping. I had never had squash blossoms before and I thought they were light and flavorful. The homemade pasta dishes were both so good. Our server helped us pick out our dishes based on our flavor preferences and wine choice. I can't wait to come back!

I went there with my husband and our month old daughter. We walked in without a reservation. They kindly accommodated our baby in her car seat. Our server, Lynn, was very sweet! Since it was my husband’s birthday we wanted to go all out and she paced the dishes perfectly. She provided some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. The food was everything we hoped it would be! All dishes were beautifully put together, creative, and delicious. I highly recommend Ca’Lucchenzo if you are looking for a date night spot as the ambience is dim and romantic. We will definitely be back.

5 stars across the board. I'm not normally someone to go for Italian, but I'm happy I was convinced to. Absolutely gorgeous restaurant with lovely staff. Fresh baked bread drizzled in olive oil, and the swordfish was incredible. All the vegetables tasted fresh, and some are even freshly grown local/on site. Well worth the money.

Everything was great! Went here for a family birthday and the service and food were excellent. For appetizers we ordered the focaccia, deviled eggs with tuna and pickled onions, and Mexican blue shrimp. All were great, our favorite was the Mexican blue shrimp, they give you a good amount and it also comes with fried onion strings, fried lemon slices, and aioli sauce. For the main course I ordered the uovo in carozza of crispy polenta, basically an egg on top of a crispy polenta crust with mushrooms and cheesy sauce underneath and shaved truffles on top. Anything with the truffles is expensive, and this was a small portion, but it was tasty. Luckily I was able to share from my family member's dishes as well, they ordered the bigoli pasta with duck ragu and rigatoni with sausage and mushroom, both were also great. For me the pasta noodles in these dishes was the standout, it was the best pasta I've ever had, the texture was perfect. For dessert we got the panna cotta with plum, and gelato with espresso, both also great. Finally the service was top notch, our server was attentive and humorous, and took our coats and hung them up for us. Very cozy setting as well. Highly recommend this place!

The service is fantastic! We started with appetizers. Focaccia bread and deviled eggs. The bread is amazing! So soft and fresh. The one with goat cheese..omg... that could have been my meal! Delicious! The deviled eggs were the best deviled eggs I ever had. My 4-year old grandson loved them! Then on to the entrees....Fat Belly Fish with a red sauce was really good...don't let the "fat" fool you, there is no fat, just really good fish bites. I can't remember the names of the others we had but one had a green sauce with sausage, wow! That was good. The mushrooms and pasta dish was by far the favorite. Unbelievable flavor! The 2 chocolate desserts were very satisfying 😋 . The counter seating wasn't available, but you can watch them make the pasta! Pretty cool. The lower atmosphere rating was only because there was a larger, very loud, table near ours. Kinda put a damper on the experience. Would definitely go back and try again! Great place!

We had a wonderful time celebrating two birthdays and Mother’s Day! Our table tried all 6 homemade pasta options, they all had such distinct and fresh flavors. We had three kids who all found something they loved. Had a wonderful chocolate martini to end things. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

Excellent meal!! The food was exceptional. Service was also fabulous - very personable and knowledgeable. Everything was timed well. When I made the reservation the dining room was booked but they suggested a high top table in the bar - contrary to what it sounds like its a great option!! Quiet private corner. There was absolutely no detail about our experience that was less than a "5". Highly recommend!

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for years. So glad I did. We were greeted with a very warm welcome - the risotto was fantastic. Best pork chop I’ve ever had. Enjoyed my mocktail and chocolate dessert. Keep up the great work Sarah and Zak!

What do you mean you haven't been here yet? Go make that reservation as they are usually booked out by at least a week. Can't wait that long and w ant to take your chances? Go right when they open as they usually have a few seats available. As for the best seat? I'm usually a bar eater, but the pasta bar is an experience to be had at least once, and dining room dining is superb, too. If the weather is nice, and there is a seat outside, all tables have an umbrella so take full use before it's closed up for the season. If you think you've had focaccia before, you are wrong. You won't know what impostor you've had prior to eating the one here. No one's going to judge if you ask for an extra order to go, too. Their menu changes one to three times a week, so I won't even try to specifically recommend something from the menu. Typically, whenever they have a ravioli or filled pasta option that seems to be the best. I do recommend going with at least one other person so you can share a few dishes. Dessert can be hit or miss so go with what your heart feels. Cocktails are always spot on. There's a brown butter old-fashioned that is always a table favorite. So is there Apperal spritz, dirty, martini, and other fun concoctions on their menu. You honestly can't go wrong there.

Wonderful dinner with excellent warm customer service. My daughter and I felt very welcome and the meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was comfortable and memorable. I will be back! Thank you.

Ca'Lucchenzo remains one of Milwaukee's best under the radar restaurants. While it is well reviewed critically, I feel like too few people know about it. The atmosphere is still cozy and warm and relaxed. The waitstaff are impeccably well informed and trained and welcoming. Maggie, our server, was perfectly on point with the level of attention she gave us and the right level of celebration for our birthday dinner. The drinks are creative. All the courses are nuanced and interesting for both meat and vegetarian diners. I had a gnocchi that was the lightest and best I've ever had - a marvel. BF had a seafood dish and said the octopus was better than any he'd had in Italy and that it has ruined him for all future octopus meals. Desserts are wonderful. The bill can get high, but you won't regret celebrating a special occasion or a random Wednesday here.

Absolutely loved the food and vibes at this spot. Neighborhood feel with food that tastes like you're in Italy. Can't wait to come back and try new items as they change with the season. Service was top notch as well and made the experience.

We've had this place on our radar for quite some time. We were finally able to snag a reservation and try it out. And wow this place didn't have one bad bite. We had an amazing experience, all the wait staff was so extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was super good and We felt so welcomed here. The food was incredible, I don't think you could go wrong with anything off of the menu. I would rate Ca'Lucchenzo higher than 5/5 if I could. We will definitely come back here and will be recommending this restaurant to friends and family. Just WOW!

Received a gift card for a birthday to try this place and was very impressed! The atmosphere is very beautiful and elegant. The pasta and salad we enjoyed was so fresh. Staff was attentive and informative on the restaurant and menu.

We have been eager to visit this restaurant since we read about it in the local media over a year ago and finally got a chance to try it this week after running an errand in this part of town. We were NOT disappointed! The decoration inside the restaurant is pleasant and gives the impression of authenticity. Our server was quite cheerful and helpful. The menu offers a very reasonable number of choices to satisfy many. The explanation for each dish was fairly clear, although it would be even more helpful if description of each dish also uses symbols to indicate whether it contains ingredients that a significant portion of world population is intolerant of or allergic to, such as lactose or shellfish. I remember that the menu at an Italian restaurant in NYC not only uses symbols to provide this type of information but also explains that pecorino cheese is made from ewe milk and has less lactose. Since this was our first visit, we decided to order at least one dish in every section of the menu. -- From the Cicchetti section of the menu, we ordered Focaccia della Casa and Pickled Ramp Deviled Egg. The Focaccia was fluffy and rich with flavors and lots of olive oil - very different from the Focaccia we got elsewhere in the past, but we liked it. The Deviled Egg had a mild but complex flavor profile and was perfect for us to start the meal. -- From the Antipasti section, we ordered Agnolotti di Coniglio in Brodo (Rabbit-filled pasta in broth). The flavor was again subtle but very pleasing. -- The pasta dish we got was Maccaronara con Salsiccia. The pasta was perfectly prepared, and the house-made sausage and wild ramps created a memorable taste. It reminded us of the sumptuous pasta dishes that we had in Tuscany a couple of years ago. -- The main dish we shared was Branzino Selvatico in Padella. The skin of the wild mediterranean bass was crispy, and the fish was delicious. We ordered a similar dish at a well-known Italian restaurant in NYC about a year ago, but we thought that Ca'Lucchenzo's dish was clearly better. In our view, this is by far the best Italian restaurant that we've tried in Milwaukee.

5 star all around...service, cocktails, food, ambiance...get your rezzies in now! Anthony was our waiter- fantastic. We loved him...top notch service. Explained the menu so fully- we wanted to order every item on the menu! (And almost did!) Anthony gave such great recommendations- we were not disappointed. Starters were outstanding. From the prosciutto di parma , goat cheese crostine, deviled eggs, insalata cicoria , arancino, fried baccala- each was delectable. Dinner was so delicious. Malloreddus Sardo (Gnocchi), rigatoni alla Norcina (with 7oz! Shaved Black truffle), Casarecce con Cavolfiore... each one had such flavor and we all enjoyed our dishes. Dessert was just as outstanding- I would say that this was the best tirimisu I've ever had. We also had the panna cotta, frittelle and vin santo- can't be beat...we can't wait to come back.

My friend took me here for my birthday and at first I thought she was over hyping this spot but honestly it's so good! I'd recommend getting reservations to have the best dinning experience but this made from scratch pasta was some of the best pasta I've had in a long time. The spot is cozy and moody, great for a date, intimate birthday celebration or even a solo date at the bar. We had an amazing server that went through each item we ordered and shared about it. We paired our wines based off his recommendations. The focaccia was delicious, the pastas were great and the dessert was the cherry on top!

Never disappoints; still insanely great. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Or don't. I don't care. I'm not the boss of you.

Ok so where to start??? I LOVE THIS PLACE! I cannot believe this is the first time I've ever been! The ambiance can be intimate and can be casual/hang out. This is in Wauwatosa. Parking right next to the restaurant. It doesnt say on the yelp page but I called and they do accommodate kids! They have high chairs and they are able to make a simpler pasta dish for a toddler's palate. I LOVE how accommodating they are! With a place like this, yes moms and dads, you can still go out to eat amazing food with your littles! So let's delve into the menu. They change some items around in their menu and the newest addition when we visited is the pasta with white truffles. Btw, they hand make the pasta in house and it is the most perfect texture. I was initially doubtful about my meal being completely meatless that I even requested to have a side of grilled chicken LOL. but our wonderful server insisted protein isnt really needed for this kind of dish, so i trusted his recommendation. I did not regret it! He also made it a point to inform me that the meal includes 7g of white truffles and honestly it was the most umami-ful aromatic decadent pasta dish I have ever had! I have to say I usually don't care for pasta, but THIS is a dish to EXPERIENCE! My husband ordered the veal and it was tender and perfect. They even allowed my MIL to substitute squid ink pasta to rigatoni LMAO. We had the deep friend gnocchi dough and focaccia for starters too. Semolina doughnuts are AMAZING, it came with honey and cream cheese and the panna cotta with red wine infused cherries is the most perfect way to end the meal, slightly tart, a little sweet, and of perfect consistency. Oh and before I forget, the negroni I had to have 2 because the bartender definitely pays attention to proportion when they concocted it. I will be back with my gang because this has got to be the best pasta meal i ever had in a very long time.

Should have read the reviews for Ca' Lucchenzo before we went . . . it would have raised red flags. Our friends wanted to go to this moderately priced hot spot, so we did. First problem, it is not moderately priced. As another reviewer stated, "The food is way over priced for what you get. And who charges for bread at the table? They do! Wow!" You see, individual items are priced reasonably. But to get anything resembling a meal, you must order bread, salad and entre separately, and before you turn around, the moderately priced meal amounts to $75. A cheap bottle of wine is in the $50's or $60's, with most well over $100 or more. They do not feature a house wine. Second problem, the menu. I would have appreciated a menu written in English, not Italian. I had looked up items on the internet to try to decide what to order. (I confess, I prefer simple foods. A burger appeals more than a laundry list of unknown and exotic ingredients.) The restaurant menu was in a TINY decorative font. I used my reading glasses, but the font was still too small to read. My friend brought up a magnifying ap on her phone and gave it to me. It helped a little. I figured "Cannelloni al Forno - baked pasta filled with sautéed mushrooms, leeks & fontina valdostana cheese, $28," might be OK. My Husband tried "Spaghettone con Cozze alla Marinara - steamed mussels, tomato, garlic, oregano, wild spring onion, toasted breadcrumbs, $29." We split a grapefruit salad with a few stray greens. No traditional green tossed salad available. Too common. He said his Spaghettone was not bad, but he was hungry even after he finished my third cardboard cannelloni. My meal consisted of three tasteless, flat, dry and hard filled pasta shells. I think a cheese had been melted on top and browned, meaning dried out and hard. I mistakenly ate two, and was somewhat sick when I got home. Cardboard described the dish well. Won't be back, but Ca' Lucchenzo is doing well without us, and I wish them well. Service and ambiance are good, and their parking lot is always full. Hint to the management . . . Invest in an optional English language menu with a plain, readable, LARGE font, and add a house green salad to your menu. For those of you making reservations, take a magnifying glass, remember it is pricy, and the menu a little weird.

We had a phenomenal meal last weekend here. Everything was top notch. Food, service and drinks were great. We had a variety of dishes including the mozzarella appetizer, mushroom risotto, seasonal pasta. Everything was perfect. The chanterelles were perfectly cooked and it was one of the best dishes I have had in Milwaukee. We luckily got a reservation the same day but typically you need to book about a week out.

Fabulous experience all around. The staff was so welcoming from the minute we walked in. We sat at the bar which was great as our server / bartender Jack was able to spend quality time with us explaining the menu and just having a great conversation. The menu is the perfect size - plenty of options and not overwhelming. The food was GREAT. My wife and I shared everything which was a great way to get a nice variety as it was our first time dining here. The focaccia is out of this world - so crispy on top and light and airy inside and bathed in fantastic olive oil. A couple of deviled eggs, the chicken liver crostini and the pacific barramundi sea bass crudo were a really good combo to kick off the meal. That said, the ravioli with ricotta and mushrooms and the veal chop with fontina and speck ham were the stars of the show (with the focaccia). First time here...definitely not the last. One of the top restaurants in the area.

This establishment was listed on the top 52 restaurants to try in 2024 by Milwaukee Magazine As a walk in guest I didn't know what to expect. Off to a slow start the menu was explained section by section since this was my first visit The food and service was awesome This is a rather small restaurant that serves about 100 people I think between the bar and dining room area. I'd come back for the special occasion dinner. My only request is to a "lunch day" once a month for those who can't come out at night.

The atmosphere is very relaxing and intimate. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and made wonderful suggestions for our group. The food was absolutely incredible. From the appetizers all the way through to the deserts, I was blown away. I wouldn't have thought something as simple as the focaccia tossed in oil would be so delicious. This set the tone for the rest of the meal. Highly, highly recommend. This will become a new staple in the date night rotation.

Simply outstanding! Came in on a busy Saturday evening after calling for a reservation about an hour before we arrived and got a seat for 2 at the bar. This popular Italian gem pays intricate attention to detail in its rotating menu based on seasonal Ingredients, a majority of which are locally grown. Probably some of the best Italian food I've had in the Midwest. The service is fabulous and recommendations were made by our waitress with ease. It is on the more expensive side of meals but worth every penny and the low Wisconsin state tax makes what you're seeing on the menu pretty comparable to what you actually pay.

We went conveniently during white truffle season and highly recommend everyone does the same Our waitress, Annie, was absolutely wonderful! Her suggestions were spot on and she was super knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We loved sharing a white truffle pasta dish with each other - it was a perfect amount for 4 people. The focaccia is absolutely amazing and the carrot salad was like Fall in a dish. I got the Stracotta di Manzo which was a red wine braised beef shoulder with polenta - it was a decently large portion and so delicious! Truly the epitome of comfort food. The pasta dishes are on the smaller side but packed with flavor. We also got one of each dessert and loved every bite. The menu changes all the time so you might not see the same things more than once which is both good and bad when things are this tasty! Super cute date night spot with a beautifully crafted menu and a staff who are passionate about the food. Absolutely looking forward to our return!

I've heard about this restaurant for years and finally had the chance to go. I can safely say this is the best Italian restaurant in Wisconsin, and it isn't very close. From your first step in, the experience is great. Hosts are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the staff is knowledgable. I had some questions about the wine menu and the person responsible for the list (maybe a sommelier?) came over to answer them and steer me in the right direction. The food specials for the night were recognizable but felt unique, and tasted delicious. The pasta dishes tasted nothing like boxed pasta and the restaurant was not shy about seasoning, which I feel is a common oversight when going out to eat. My guests loved the food and wine, we were treated well, and I would absolutely go back. Especially worth it for a celebratory dinner.

I had an amazing experience at Ca'Lucchenzo and will now be recommending it to everyone. The Fried Baccala was an amazing starter. It was light and crispy. The squid ink aioli was a unique touch. Don't be afraid to try it! For an entree, I ordered the Ravioli Doppio di Agnello e Polenta, which is a double ravioli of lamb and polenta, roasted shallot, parmigiano-reggiano. The ravioli was essentially two connected tubes of pasta -- one with polenta, one with lamb. The combination was splendid. Our server, I think her name was Annie, was spectacular. We ordered everything she suggested and there were no misses. Everything was delectable. The food was delivered quickly and fresh silverware was brought out with each course. The vibes are great as well. It's clean and airy while still being comfortable. There aren't very many tables, so make a reservation. There is also a small parking lot along the side of the building.

I really enjoyed my visit here, and the homemade pasta was excellent. Reason I didn't give them a 4 stars is because the portion sizes were a tad bit small, and the two men I ate with ended up ordering an additional entree to share after seeing how small the ravioli was. But it all tasted delish!

Ca'Lucchenzo had been on my list of places to try since moving to MKE. It's always booked and a bit of a drive for us, so first off, apologies for taking so long. Upon arrival, we were greeted kindly and told we were in for a treat. Once the focaccia and Nebbiolo came to our table we knew this would be at least good. The gorgonzola-apple salad was delicious, arancino awesome, and the pastas were also lovingly prepared. We had gnocchi with fungi and cauliflower and cherry with pasta. After having ample time to digest my experience, I would give Ca' Lucchenzo the full five stars. Was it like being in Italy? Almost. But for Milwaukee, it was really a standout dining experience. Grazie per tutto!

I have really mixed feelings leaving this review. The restaurant itself is very small and quaint but don't get there before your reservation time. We were hoping to have a drink at the bar beforehand but there was no additional seating available. They reserve seating at the bar and there isn't even standing room to do that. The waiting area is very small so having a drink with a group of more than two would be nearly impossible. There have very limited proteins on the menu, and not much flexibility in doing anything with substitutions. They use fresh ingredients and their flavors were very good. They also have an extensive wine list, which was very nice. We ordered 2 of the ravioli dishes, a pesto pasta, and mushroom risotto. All of them were great but the risotto was barely enough to serve as a dinner, especially for $32! I felt a bit cheated. The service was very good and you could see solid teamwork. Overall, it's was pretty darn good but based on the unavailability of the bar prior to dinner, lack of proteins, and the expensive small portion of the risotto, I don't think we'll be back.

I was strolling through my photos and saw this picture (please see attachment) that I had taken of the food at this place about 9 months ago and remembered how phenomenal my dining experience was and so OF COURSE, I HAD TO SHARE. Like it is way too good not to. Also, why didn't I do it sooner? Alas, here we are. It was one of my best friend's birthday so we had reservations to go here. When we pulled up to the place, it was a small and quaint little home (from the outside) and to my surprise, it was actually a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. We walked in and was greeted by the nicest lady. We opted to sit outside and the exterior reminded me of a very cute Italian style backyard. I literally had no idea what I wanted to order so our server made a few recommendations. I was OBSESSED with olives at the time so we ordered the olives to start off with. I'll be honest, I was not really impressed by the olives just because it was way too citrusy to the point where it tasted sour/bitter. Perhaps some people like that, for me it was just a little too much. For our entree, we ordered the rigatoni with Italian sausage which came with spinach mixed in and the cherry glazed braised duck. UMMMM. HOLY MOLY!!!! The duck was sooo flavorful and I could still remember how it tastes even 9 months later. I remember it being so tender, moist and flavorful without any fat on the meat. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? Most of the duck that you usually find at restaurants are obnoxiously fatty but this duck entree was just created to the absolute perfection. Whoever came up with this cherry glazed was a genius. It offset the saltiness from the duck and it was just so good. Next up, the Rigatoni Pasta with Italian Sausage. This classic dish was really tasty as well. I love that they make their pastas fresh every day!!! This is the unique thing about this restaurant. You can totally taste how fresh it is and the rigatoni was cooked where the noodles were not too soft nor was it too hard. It was the perfect texture. Overall, my dining experience was phenomenal; a memory that I clearly still vividly remember. The food and service - 10/10. Loved every second that I was in that restaurant. However, I chose to give this place a 4 star because their menu constantly changes so if you come back, there may not be the same entree or dish that you are craving/ desired to order. I think that they should really make the duck entree a permanent dish on their menu.

Highlights/Lowlights 1) Fantastic food 2) Nice ambiance 3) Some gluten-free options (NOT a gluten-free kitchen) We had a FANTASTIC time at Ca'Lucchenzo last Friday. We were able to quickly make a reservation (day of) from their website (through Tock). I definitely recommend a reservation as it was pretty full when we arrived. We had a party of 5, so did not opt to eat at the pasta counter (where you can sit and watch the fabulous food being made) but it looked very cool. You can book a table OR the pasta counter through your reservation. I loved the vibe of Ca'Lucchenzo! It was definitely elegant/finer dining but it didn't feel stuffy at all, just warm and inviting. We had several bottles of red and white wine that our very nice server talked us through. We opted to share everything with our group and I'm glad we did as everyone got to try a little bit of everything. We had an easy time finding some gluten-free options but note this is an upscale Italian restaurant, that is not a dedicated gluten-free restaurant so if shared cook spaces or potential cross-contaminants are an issue for you this probably isn't your spot. For our appetizers we got the goat cheese crostini, then went on to the arancini, and cod fritters. Crostini and cod fritters were super easy to share, arancini needed to be split in to 5 pieces but this was fine with us. Everything was plated super nice and nothing disappointed. For dinner we did the roasted cod (no gluten) and risotto (no gluten) as well as the pappardelle al ragú. I'm still thinking about it! Our 3 appetizers and 3 entrees were enough for the 5 of us to share and leave satisfied but not completely stuffed (ideal!). I can't wait to bring more of my friends and family to this great spot!!

Went to Ca'Lucchenzo for a date night after hearing so many wonderful things about the restaurant, and it did not disappoint! The dining area itself is a great mixture of modern and cozy, definitely an environment I could sit in for hours. The staff was extremely nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. They gave you a great rundown of the menu as well as their personal favorites which was helpful for me as a first timer. The food was delicious and unique. I love a restaurant that consistently changes their menu, so I am extremely excited to go back in the future! 10/10 recommend!

We heard from multiple people this place was great so we gave it a try and it exceeded expectations! I loved my dish (a brown butter white wine morel pasta) and the service was super nice and helpful! It sounds like the menu changes pretty frequently and if you want a reservation our waitress recommended calling as opposed to booking online. It was very chill inside and if you sit at the bar you can watch the chefs hand make the pasta right in front of you, I will definitely be back soon everything we had was delicious! They change their ingredients with whatever is in season and our waitress mentioned they don't freeze anything besides their ice cream and that attention to detail for sure came out in our food, we loved everything!

I'm so so happy that there is a new pasta restaurant in town and it might be my new favorite! Fonduta Arancino - fontina fondue-filled risotto fritter. This was a fancier, cheesier croquette-ish surrounded by a fresh salad. Tagliatelle Verde al Ragù Bianco - spinach ribbon pasta, white veal ragù, and parmigiano-reggiano. This was a little oily but I really enjoyed the spinach ribbon. The sauce coated it wonderfully. Spaghetti di Nero - squid ink pasta, steamed mussels, crab, octopus, tomato, white wine, and calabrian chili. if you enjoy seafood, this pasta dish is for you. The noodles were perfectly al dente. Stay up to date with the menu as pastas come and go! I'll definitely be back to try more pasta dishes.

If you're looking for an upscale Italian restaurant I recommend this place! Food and service were great! The inside is very nice! Portions are a little small but to be expected for a nicer restaurant.

First and foremost, Amanda is the best. She took care of us at the bar and made it feel as intimate and special as their finest table for two. She was knowledgeable and made great suggestions. She's a rockstar. The food was *chef's kiss* AMAZING! Every bite was complex and delicious. Highly recommend. It was our first time here and we will be back!

We had a lovely dinner here. I wish I'd taken pictures of everything we had to eat. I'll share the highlights: The arancino is delicious and a must have. I'd recommend ordering more than one. The prosciutto di Parma was very good. The prosciutto was mild in flavor such that you could still taste the creamy cheese it's paired with. The insalata di carote arrosto was one of the best bites. Those carrots are so so good. The dates and olives are a nice contrasting bite to one another. Definitely order this one too. The goat cheese crostone was delicious but the portion was small (they do tell you this in advance of ordering). Our entrees, pictured below, were delicious. Our dessert was phenomenal (little fried donuts) and our after dinner coffee/hot cocoa were tasty. The service was great too - our server, Anthony I believe, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients used in each item. There's a small parking lot for those times street parking is tight in Tosa. Overall, really recommend it.

Been waiting to come here forever and we ended up getting a reservation finally! I immediately loved the vibe here.. I tried to do a walk in during summer time and it was super packed and we didn't get in at the time so we decided to do a reservation way in advance. We got seated right away and server came and helped us with drinks and recommendations for what food to order. They were out of the fish so we ended up getting the shrimp pasta, bread with cheese, mushroom soup and a truffle dish. While some of the dishes were amazing like the shrimp pasta, the truffle dish was too expensive and quite underwhelming in taste. I love truffle and appreciate a dish well infused with truffle flavors .. this was not it for me. The soup was pretty good and I think I would loved the fish which we didn't get to try. Overall I think if their menu changes in the future, I would like to give it another try someday

Everything was amazing! Fresh made bread, delicious in Season fruit appetizer, homemade pasta, and wonderful cocktails. Our waiter was also super attentive and offered wonderful recommendations!

If I had the choice for my last meal, it would be the Vellutata di Funghi - creamy mushroom soup, brown butter, crème fraîche complemented with wild truffle and focaccia della casa, extra virgin olive. Dessert would be the Panna Cotta al Té - rishi earl grey tea-scented milk custard, wild saskatoon berry conserva, almond sbrisolona crumble as the PERFECT meal... BRAVO Cà Lucchenzo!

Second time here, equally incredible. Food came out fast, service was great; romantic ambiance. Price is a bit high for the food we got but you got what you paid for. Menu changes so these may not be available when you dine here next time, but the crostini goat cheese honey is incredible along with squash filled dumpling

Well this place has certainly changed my mind over the years. I have been totally, memorably impressed several visits in a row, and I am very excited to go back! The atmosphere has always been great, but after a long hiatus I tried it again and everything was fantastic. Great menu, great wine list, great cocktails. Service was excellent... nothing more to say than this is probably my new favorite restaurant in Milwaukee!

It took me a while, but I finally made it to Ca'Lucchenzo just over a month ago. File this one away under "what took me so long?!" My friend offered to make a reservation, but she never confirmed with the email she received, so the reso wasn't booked, so make sure you follow through on that process. However, since their patio was booked and dining wasn't allowed indoors, they asked us if we'd like one of the tables on the sidewalk, which was totally cool with us. The wind picked up a bit, and it started to rain, and I guess that scared a reservation away or a table finished early, because they came to move us from the sidewalk to the patio, near the heater and under an umbrella. They didn't have to do that, but they did it. That is amazing customer service! We ordered their house-made Focaccia, giant veal & pork meatball, and Goat Cheese Crostino as our apps, and Tagliatelle Verde and Risotto with black truffles for our entrees, and finally added the Frittele di Semola (doughnuts with creamy stracchino cheese and Rare earth farms honey) for dessert. All of the apps were good, but the focaccia was our favorite, and I would call it a MUST-order! The Tagliattele Verde is made with spinach ribbon pasta with a white veal ragu and parmigiano-reggiano and was delicious, but the Risotto with black truffles was our favorite of the two and again, I'd call it a MUST-order. I am a big risotto fan and always look for it on menus, and this open was one of the very best I've ever had! It wasn't just because of the black truffles, but because the risotto was cooked perfectly and had the consistency that risotto should have. A chef once explained to me that when you lightly "shake" a plate of risotto, the risotto should flow live a wave. Their risotto dish changes often, but I'd say order the risotto, whichever option is being served that day. We didn't have room for the house-made doughnuts, but we aren't quitters, so we ordered them, and they capped off a great dinner with great wine! One of the owners came to our table to check on us and chat a bit between courses. After patio season ends, they will revert to carry-out and curbside only. I know that I will be back to support them, and I hope enough other diners do to help help survive this unusual time.

I decided to take my wife on a date this week to a place we've never been. The restaurant already has great reviews. So, I'm addition to what everyone else is saying... The ambiance and decor is very beautiful. It has almost an antique vibe. The host was very welcoming. We made a reservation and was immediately seated. Our server, Anthony was well versed with menu items and very knowledgeable. He made recommendations that were very helpful. He was attentive to our needs. The food was delicious. Every bite has flavor. If you like mushrooms you will love their morel mushrooms!!!! It very small and imitate inside so you will need to make a reservation. Our server, Anthony did a banner job in explaining the menu items and being attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and flavor in every bite. The cocktails were amazing and the dessert. I have pics this time people . I highly recommend!

This is the best Italian restaurant in Wisconsin. Everything is so fresh and flavorful, the servers are very knowledgeable about the wines.

Perfection is the best way to describe our dinner at Ca'Lucchenzo. My husband is an "if it doesn't have red sauce it's not Italian" guy and even he said he'd give this restaurant . And then he said he'd deduct a 1/2 star because there was no red sauce. LOL. The setting is lovely. It feels very light and open despite not being very large. Our waitress (whose name I wish I could recall) was great - very knowledge and friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness. We started with the marinated olives. I don't particularly care for olives since in my experience they are usually heavily salted. These, however, were so light. The marinade shown through and wasn't overly salty. We moved on to the grilled scamorza cheese with spring vegetables. I was not a fan of the cheese but I don't think that's La'Lucchenzo's fault, just a personal preference. The spring vegetables? Wow, I would have liked a huge bowl of just those. So, so good. We moved on to the pastas. Both were fantastic; there's just nothing like handmade pasta. I had the garganelli- this was very much like an Alfredo dish. My husband had the maccaronara and ate every bite. I had a taste of his and although I thoroughly enjoyed my dish I wished I had ordered his. We finished with the polenta cake with grilled pineapple and bay leaf ice cream. I was skeptical - bay leaf ice cream? It was amazing. And the cake was fantastic. I don't like polenta and really didn't think a polenta cake sounded good but it was my husband's choice. He chose very well. I wouldn't say this is a casual weeknight meal based on the prices but for a more upscale date night or a special occasion you cannot go wrong here. I can't wait to go back!

From start to finish this is the best meal (now meals) I have enjoyed in Milwaukee. The service is incredible. The restaurant is cozy and beautiful. The menu really does change DAILY. It's hard to pick which dish is my favorite upon each visit. You really cannot go wrong ordering here. I tell everyone to go to Ca'Lucchenzo and look forward to many future visits.

Great food and great service. Menu is constantly changing to feature what's in season. This continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in the city.

Really loved our first trip to Ca'Lucchenzo! I cannot believe that we have not visited here before since my husband and I both love pasta. The ambiance of the restaurant is great. When you are making a reservation, you can choose to sit at the bar, in the dining area, or at the pasta bar. We opted for the bar but next time I would definitely sit at the pasta bar. They literally cut and make all of the pastas right there in front of you! How cool?! The mocktail (Freya) that I ordered was delicious! I am trying to drink less and this definitely hit the spot. I felt like, "who needs alcohol in a drink when it tastes this good?!". The bartender was super friendly as far as recommendations and explaining how she made the mocktail to us. We started with the octopus appetizer. It was good, not great. Don't think I would order it again next time but instead, try something else. It was about $21 for the appetizer so not cheap, but made sense given that it was octopus. We ordered the saffron pasta for our entree with mussels and that was delicious! The buttery, garlicky sauce was amazing. The noodles were clearly fresh and just so tasty! We ended up splitting that dish and that was enough for the two of us, but I just wanted to get more pasta to try more menu items. According to the bartender, the menu changes often (sometimes week to week), so if you see something you want... get it! For one mocktail, one app and one entree the bill was about $65. Again, not a cheap dinner but it was delicious and we would go back when looking for another more fancy date night.

This is a great addition to Tosa. We made a reservation for 5:00pm and arrived a bit ahead of time. The restaurant was already open and everyone inside was super friendly and let us sit at our table right away. The interior design is modern but with lots of warm colors which creates a comfortable, welcoming vibe. You can see the chefs kneading doughs in the center area. Service was pretty fast. We shared our pasta with each other. The portion size of the pastas was bigger than we thought! So if you have a smaller appetite, one pasta dish should be enough to get you very full. Spaghetti di Nero. Overall, this is a very refreshing seafood pasta dish. I liked this the most among the three pasta dishes. The squid ink pasta cooked al dente had a slightly resistant bite. The tomato, white wine and calabrian chili sauce was very flavorful. The steamed mussels and crab added the nice hint of seafood flavor. Malloreddus Sardo. The sardinian gnocchis are striped shell shaped (they are not those traditional little potato doughs). They had the yellow color and the toothy and sturdy texture which typical sardinian gnocchis should have. Good. I think the lamb ragù can be stronger and the cheese can also be a bit more to give the Malloreddus more flavors. The anchovy breadcrumbs was great as they really added the nice crunch and breadcrumb flavor. I didn't feel the bitter greens in the dish - I mean I saw there were some in the middle but as leafy vegetables, they have been cooked to completely lose whatever texture or flavor or even the green color they have. Stracotto di Cinghiale. The wild boar stew was soft and went well with the cipollini onion that was also cooked to be very soft. The chef brought out the natural sweetness of the onion but it tasted not overpowering at all. The creamy polenta was the best part as it was so smooth that was almost like custard. Overall, I felt this was a good dish, but the boar stew was nothing really special from a normal flavorful beef stew. The polenta alone really stood out. Torta alla Gianduja and Panna Cotta. We loved our desserts!!! For the Panna Cotta, the custard was indeed very silky and went so well with the sweet, refreshing blueberry conserva. For the Torta alla Gianduia, the dark chocolate was on the bitter side and rich and tasted very good with the sweet crust/hazelnut tart. The frolla pastry and red wine cherries on side were beautiful additions to the dessert not only because of how they look but also what they tasted.

Ca Lucchenzo completely impressed me from start to finish. You'd never know that they just opened a few weeks ago! When you walk in, you'll notice pretty big changes to the old Juniper 61 space - especially the central pasta bar where fresh pasta was being made while we ate. Ca Lucchenzo has a nice wine list (all Italians I believe) with glasses in the $9-12 range and bottles in the $40-50 range. There is a full bar too, and some limited beer options. We started with house focaccia ($5) which was exceptional - a perfect crunchy crust with soft, chewy insides. We then split a fonduta aracini ($12) which is essentially a large rice ball filled with melty cheese. Sounds great right? And it was, but the salad it was served on was so, so, so, so good - frisée, warm fresh asparagus and perfectly ripe peas. It tasted exactly like spring. For mains, the mister had wild boar stew served with polenta ($22) and I had "casarecci con salsiccia" ($17) which is fresh pasta with homemade sausage, peas and fresh mint, served in a percorino broth. It tasted every bit as delicious as it sounds and was quite a large portion. The Mister loved his stew and said it tasted just like what he'd had in Florence. We finished up by splitting a panna cotta ($7) which was served in a delicate vintage teacup, with a fresh blueberry sauce and pistachio shortbread. Again, it tasted as good as it sounds! We had great service from Annika (hope I spelled it right!) and had the chance to talk to the owner for a moment. You can tell a lot of care has gone in to delivering a great experience in all fronts here - our dinner was truly excellent. Very happy this place is now open just a few blocks from home!! And no question that they're going to do well - they take reservations so definitely make them even on a weeknight. Welcome to the neighborhood Ca Lucchenzo, we'll be seeing you again soon!!

We had just visited Italy the previous summer and live in Dallas and this amazing special restaurant really checked all the blocks! Great atmosphere and truly amazing food! My brother and his wife brought us while we were in town and it will be a staple of future visits!!
