The hosts were fantastic!! 10/10 for sure, but unfortunately everything else fell short and didn’t justify the $129 per person, plus the $100+ we spent on drinks. Our table was right next to the kitchen, which meant we had no view of the show; instead, we spent the evening looking at backs and bums (nice ones, but still not the performance we paid for).
The food was disappointing. The lamb option became unavailable due to a kitchen mishap, so we were forced to have chicken instead. When offered a choice of mushroom sauce or jus, we later discovered the mushroom sauce had run out, leaving us with a completely different meal we hadn’t wanted in the first place. To top it off, the cupcake dessert was barely thawed when served.
The dance performance itself lasted only about 10 minutes, and once again, because of our seating, we only saw the performers’ backs.
Additionally, I think they should consider reducing the number of tables to allow more walking space and comfortable seating. We had to squeeze sideways just to get through the front door to our table, and as a group of four we were crammed around a table clearly meant for two (the same issue was happening at another table of four nearby).
While the hosts were genuinely lovely, the overall experience was not what I expected and certainly not worth the $129 price tag. That said, others seemed to have a much better time — those who had good seating, received the meals they ordered, and weren’t served half-frozen cupcakes. If you are thinking of coming and are in a small group, I would definately recommend asking where you will be seated as being seated where we were totally diminished our experience.
Experience was: 7pm-11.45pm
7-8pm; 1hr of waiting for people to arrive, ordering cocktails ($24 for first one comes w a souvenier cup then $18 for refills. Quite tasty), hosts walk around and make chitchat, served garlic bread 1 slice each
8-9pm; alot of waiting in between things, photo taken outside w hosts, waiting while other tables get their photos, comedic chitchat from host, served the soup (about 4 tablespoons worth)
9.30ish-10.30ishpm; interactive experience, hosts talks to guests, ask where theyre from etc, everyone does a YMCA freestyle dance as table vs table
10.30ish-11.45pm; main and dessert served, show put on while dessert is being eaten (10 min show)
I guess coming from watching a recent drag show that cost less, i expected more performing/dancing & a better viewing spot than BEHIND the hosts/dancers (photo attached of view)
