Calvi Ristorante

I was looking for a restaurant not into the town centre of Altamura and randomly i choose Calvi restaurant between the ones open for lunch. It a was a lucky choice. Excellent food and service. The quality of meals was amazing. The price was in line with the quality. Everything from starters to dessert has been really great. If you like tasting something different from the usual menu , this is the perfect choice. You'll be amazed. Their hand-made bread, simply amazing.

The best restaurant in Puglia! We’ve been living in the region for one and a half year and Calvi is a gem! Throughout the reception to the dessert, we had an amazing experience! We’ve met the restaurant through the Michelin guide and we can assure you that the visit is going to be worth it

We were supposed to drive from Matera to Ostuni but decided to do a slight detour to enjoy lunch at Calvi Ristorante in Altamura which has a Michelin star. We had the yellow tail tuna as starter (very nice but slightly too sour) together with home made bread (very tasty), warm bone marrow combined with cold steak tartar (truly great), linguine with red prawn (fantastic), tuna steak as main (ok but not any special) and pistachio ice cream as desert (made in heaven). All in all a great lunch and nice to be able to talk to Chef Calvi. He and the staff don’t speak a lot of English but who needs to talk with superb food like this!

Place outside of the city centre, located in a lower part of a block of flats/office. Nice design, not too many tables, some of them are outside. Service is very professional, knows all details about each dish and is able and keen to help you in choosing your meal. Dishes are innovative, very tasty and nice. It is a pleasure to eat them and to look them as well. Definitely recommend.

Out of the touristic road an excellent restaurant to visit. Cosy atmosphere. Interesting wines. Excellent dishes: simple and surprising (one of the best beef tartare!in an osso-buco pairing)

Lovely lunch spot. Very good food.

We went twice in a day. Blown away by the seafood dishes: raw fish, cuttlefish, octopus, oysters. Staff are super nice too. Impeccable!

Quality of food is good. Service mixed up the gradiant of our steaks (which as steak lovers know is a sin). Menu is very simple but good quality. Staff friendly. Atmosphere is modern.
