Google
A very cute cafe. Staff is generally very sweet and friendly. The vibes of the cafe are also nice and they have free wifi. Lattes are delicious especially honey lavender and vanilla lattes. We got the egg and cheese sandwich and chocolate croissant which were good.

Google
I don’t usually order tuna salad out but this sounded so good. Legit the best tuna sandwich I’ve ever had.

Google
The nova breakfast, with egg and salmon, was decent. I wouldn't say I liked it, but it was better than "just ok" -- a 3.5+ I suppose, so I will round up to 4 ⭐. The chai latte was slightly better than I had expected: I rarely have chai because I find them too sweet, and so I was disappointed when I realized that I had mistakenly ordered the chai latte instead of my usual matcha latte. However it was not terribly sweet, so that was good. For the service it wasn't bad or anything, but I give a 3 ⭐ because they never asked which chai latte size I wanted (there were medium and large options), and whether I wanted hot or iced.

Delicious coffee with wifi and outlets and a clean bathroom for customers

I came here with my boyfriend for the sandwiches that fck and we were not disappointed and the vibe was so perfect and cozy. Basically had a peak moment sitting here at these cute little tables. We will be back

Google
Ham & Cheese sandwich was rather underwhelming. Was expecting wayyyy more meat & cheese. But it’s literally the skimpiest portion of ham and 2 sad looking slices of cheese. This sandwich is about as basic as it gets and local delis will LOAD up on the meat & cheese quickly, but apparently not here. I also see what they were trying to do with the fig jam, but I don’t think it quite worked in the sandwich. The Tinga is okay. However it has a very specific and strong tasting flavor profile (I was trying to identify what spice it was - think maybe cumin) so you’ll either love it or hate it. I’m not a huge fan of whatever spice that is, so it was okay for me, but not something I’d order again. But I can see most people finding it delicious - it’s very rich & flavorful. They did a great job with it. And were very generous with the meat - so not sure why the ham & cheese came out so sad. The fries were ok. If you’re a super skinny & salty McDonalds-style fries person, you’ll probably just find it average. Not anything to rave about. Walter’s down Dekalb is still the GOAT of fries for me. I do think the House sauce that accompanied it was nice. All in all, I’m unlikely to order here again. But might do so in a pinch and try something else on the menu. Oh and the cashier is really nice!

Google

Google
this place is so beautiful! staff is amazing, it was my first time and i was confused but i got help and a few a—mazing recommendations from the cashier, i didn’t catch their name but they were great! whoever worked today deserves a raise! i got the egg and cheese from the breakfast menu and the shakshuka sandwich and they were both… amazing!!! it tasted like it was made, not pre-heated or any of that stuff that i’m used to. 10/10 would go again this is such a cute spot, amazing music too haha. you have to come here!

Lorian T.

Yelp
Cozy space with some of the best sandwiches you'll ever have. Not a large menu, but they have other items as well. The BLT and Egg sandwich are great! A MUST try if you're in this part of Brooklyn for a quick bite!

Yelp
So I'm reviewing breakfast spots that I think are good and while this spot isn't in Queens .. I'm actually a Brooklyn girl living in Queens .. the spot is in Clinton Hill Brooklyn . Cayler is a nice neighborhood spot for great lattes and really good coffee . This morning I'm having an Oat Milk Latte . I will say this rivals my little Queen's spot I just reviewed for great lattes . I used to be a Starbucks gal but there are so many great coffee spots in the city to try ! The staff are friendly and will remember your order even when you forget ! I was picking up lunch for a co-worker here as well and completely forgot part of my order ! So .. my usual here is over easy egg with avocado . The rolls are so good - brioche rolls so they are so soft and tasty ! I've had their amazing kale Caesar salad in the past . Note: the dressing is a Caesar vinaigrette and ask for more on the side since there's not much put on your salad . They have associated cakes and pastries too . The one thing that's ridiculously expensive but I love on a wet dreary day is the orange juice that's a small size - just what I need when feeling my throat getting scratchy . If you're in BK stop by ....

Yelp
Would come back if I lived in Navy Yard/Clinton Hill. Great staff. Decent Sammies. Taste: I got a ham and cheese sandwich. I wish they hadn't put fig jam on it--I like fig jam, but I just would've preferred savory and rich. I would order without that if I came back. The bread was nice, but would've preferred a baguette. Experience: the staff was awesome. I'd come back and probably can imagine a five star experience here. Mood Before/After: I was tired before and refreshed after. Fullness: Full. I only needed a half sandwich. What else did I eat/do today affecting my experience: first stop of the day after sleeping in a little

Yelp
Some of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Especially the Chorizo. The service is great. A great environment to enjoy a cup of coffee or have a nice quiet lunch with 2 or 3 friends.

Charles K.

Yelp
Like Calyer for lunch alot. Theyve got great late breakfast to late lunch food. A selection of breakfast sandwiches lunch sandwiches and salads. Its pretty well priced. Not quite cheap but also not expensive either. They've got a couple seats but my assumption is they are heavy on the takeout & delivery side. I tried the balsamic greens with chicken. Loved how much apple it had. The pepitas added nice crunch although something additional crunchy would have been awesome. It was a good sized portion. And filled me up. I'll be back to try the rest.

Jessica C.

Yelp
I loveeeeee working out of Calyer so much that I often will take casual meetings there and sometimes bring a friend for lunch. The people who work there are very sweet and they're great about remembering my order. For the food, I mainly stick to the salads but that's because it is one of my favorite salad spots in the neighborhood. I typically cycle through all of the salads throughout the a month but if I happen to visit Calyer twice in a week then that means I am going back for the Balsamic Greens. (Pro tip: try it with fried chicken and thank me later). For drinks, I have tried most of the seltzers and I love their selection. They've stocked brands / flavors that I was always interested in sampling and that I ended up looking for in supermarkets after the fact. I also pop in for Cold Brew every now and then. They have a nice assortment of syrups, including lavender and maple. The coffee is decent, the salads are great, and the service is prompt, but the ambiance is hands down my favorite thing about Calyer. It is the perfect cafe for someone who loves typing things at a window bar while the sun directly warms your face and the people around you are discussing their interesting artsy Pratt projects at a normal and not obnoxious volume lol.

Eve S.

Yelp
Yummy sandwiches. Very busy and quick turnover, so if there's not a place to sit and eat when you arrive, there probably will be once you get your food.

Nicole E.

Yelp
I popped in for coffee and they were out of cold brew so the cashier recommended an iced americano. After tasting it, I brought it back to the counter because it was very weak and I didn't like it. The cashier--who was lovely--was friendly when I said I didn't like it. The barista rolled their eyes. The cashier offered a latte instead and I agreed. The barista again rolled their eyes and said "well she's going to have to wait" and gestured to the other orders. Now I don't believe the customer is always right, but I was being friendly and kind. The bored, dismissive attitude was not warranted. I calmly requested a refund because I was irritated and the cashier tried to offer me something else. The barista chimed in again "just give her a refund." I left annoyed that I had given them money for a sandwich.

Tasha S.

Yelp
Great cafe! The lattes are excellent, especially if you're into lavender, rose, or matcha lattes. They have a fridge stocked with all kinds of beverages, plus packages snacks and a few pastries. The lunch menu has a wide election for all tastes and budgets--although it is on the pricier side for cafes (it's in front of Pratt, so that's a given). It's adventurous and varies from Japanese tamago sandwiches to the classic cheeseburger. Overall, it's a great cafe with something for everyone.

Dazzling W.

Yelp
One of the ladies that works there F'up my cappuccino more than once because she has no idea what she is doing. I addressed it today, and the response was, " we make them all like that." WTF!! She's the only person I have come in contact with that can f'up something as simple as a cappuccino and give an excuse for it. If I go back, she will know not to make ANYTHING for me!

Kenny C.

Yelp
If you take one thing away from my review, it's that they serve lunch all day! That means if you just happen to be in the area before noon, you can still get a delicious chicken tinga sandwich! I forego your archaic delineations of when I'm allowed to eat what kind of food! I'd rather have hot shredded chicken loaded with salsa verde on soft ciabatta bread with a cup of drip coffee with oat milk. Staff is super nice. The space is cute (and they sell other things like pastries, energy bars, and juices). Oh, and they also serve their breakfast sandwiches all day!

Wilson C.

Yelp
Best staff! Amazing food! Coldest cold brews. Great prices for the quality and attention to detail on every menu item. Love this place!

Ti Wen H.

Yelp
Local cafe nearby me. I got a broccoli Reuben sandwich, that's mad tasty!!!!! I love those fresh broccoli stay in my mouth. Also you should try that fire CHAI! This is not the one which is tasted like pee! CHAI!

K J.

Yelp
The service here is always great and the ambiance is also lovely. However... I've been a huge fan of Calyer for a few years bc they were consistent in terms of the food quality. It was always delicious! In the last few months the quality of the food has steadily declined. I feel like they're starting to cut corners in some ways. I hate to say this but I feel like there's not as much attention being paid to detail anymore when it comes to the food. There's not as much love in it. It's becoming just like every other restaurant/cafe. This is just my personal taste but I miss the way the chicken fry used to be prepared. It was amazing and now it's plain. The burger is basic now and it used to be top tier. I ordered one recently and it was soggy and overly dressed. I did not enjoy it. Borderline inedible, sadly. The vegan kale Caesar is 10/10, but it's hit or miss these days. Not bad, but this place doesn't feel like the hidden gem it once was.

David B.

Yelp
They had a great front of counter person last year - she moved in. Call fir an order 5-10 minutes ready, delicious. Great place- consistent, reliable and tasty

Fatima S.

Yelp
I ordered an iced matcha latte and a scallion cheddar scone and neither of them tasted good. For the price they charged, I was hoping for a better tasting experience. The scone was super dry and flavorless, except for the burnt cheese flavor. The match tasted mostly like tap water. Overall, I think this place is super over priced for less than mediocre quality food and beverage.

Madeleine F.

Yelp
The BEST cappuccinos, sandwiches & fries (twice fried and so crispy). Highly suggest the chicken katsu or chicken fry. Always look forward to a meal from here and they are always the sweetest

Pat L.

Yelp
Calyer has become my go-to lunch spot for sandwiches. They have really good flavor, great bread, and are super fast. I love their meatball parm, really nice melted cheese with a perfect bun and really flavorful meatballs and sauce. Their cuban sandwich is also delicious. I've avoided trying their fried chicken sandwich as this is lunch and a man has to set reasonable health limits for himself, but perhaps one day I'll give that a shot..

Marian B.

Yelp
Wow the Beckie breakfast sandwich is a bread winner! It was perfect in every way. Get it!! The crispy arugula, the toasted hazar roll, the bacon, the spongy omelette, the cheese , everything. My favorite part of the sandwich was the hazar roll because it tasted crunchy, buttery, toasty but soft on the inside. They offer an array of hot sauces to top it off for those spicy hot sauce lovers. There's just something about this sandwich you have to try. The vanilla iced latte was the perfect amount of sweet and creamy for me I thoroughly enjoyed the drink! The barista was very friendly and the inside has enough tables to be a quaint neighborhood cafe. I recommend this cafe for quick breakfast runs when you're on-the-go! I wouldn't mind having the Beckie with an iced latte on a weekly basis before work or school. That'd be the definition of an ideal morning.

Ilana G.

Yelp
This place is doing everything right, and they've just opened! 1. Toby's Estate beans 2. La Marzocco machine 3. Battenkill Valley milk 4. notNeutral ceramic cups This + a barista who knows what's what is the formula for good coffee, and it's a good omen for their food. They also have WiFi, comfortable seats, and lots of light. Let's give them our money so they can stay open in this apocalyptic hellscape, shall we?

Larry C.

Yelp
This was a great little place. I'm from way out of town so I have no idea why there are only two reviews. Is it new? We stopped by for lunch & refreshment after an inspiring tour of Pratt, our first stop on a spring break college tours trip. Calyer was a nice sunny place to sit a while and eat up. I had the Shakshuka from the breakfast menu as a bowl atop farro. So good. The eggs were done nicely, the tomato-ey sauce was delicious, and the farro nice and chewy. What a great brunch choice! We also had the smoked salmon Nova, which was solid. Also a good selection of drinks including kombucha.

Siwen C.

Yelp
A perfect place for a rest! This small cafe has a very good interior design, creating a lively and light atmosphere with a lot of plants. The coffee is good

Marissa S.

Yelp
When I need a quick coffee & sandwich, Calyer never lets me down. From the chicken tinga to the roast pork, the Cuban and so on... delicious options here, incredible bread, great service!

Matt M.

Yelp
We loved our drink orders (i.e., an oat milk latte and a vanilla iced latte, regular), and our breakfast sandwiches were certainly on point. Friendly service and excellent menu choices.

Brian B.

Yelp
I have recently started ordering food here and wanted to make a comment about how inventive, delicious, consistent, and speedy this place is! If I am doing pickup, my food is ready in 10 minutes, guaranteed. I just ordered delivery, and I got my order in just under 30 minutes (I'm 6 blocks away). The fries are amazing, as is the burger, and my go to, the chicken tinga, is unreal! So glad this establishment is in the neighborhood!

Anusha K.

Yelp
the nova sandwich was delicious. the staffs are friendly . the place is very cute and peaceful for me because of all the plants. will be back for sure to try more sandwiches

David M.

Yelp
I love this place! I have the kale salad with avocado and bacon every Friday when I teach at Pratt Institute. The girl at the counter is extremely sweet and friendly, and always brightens my day. The menu doesn't have a lot of options, but everything I have tried has been super delicious. I never thought I liked kale until I had their salad, and now I love it!

Ron K.

Yelp
A+ for service!! Been going there for few months and I must say that The "chori " sandwich is amazing! Most try!

M H.

Yelp
Incredible bacon/egg/cheese sandwich! They expertly make a soft omelette and fold it delicately. They use an ample portion of real white cheddar. For the small up charge, they are VERY generous with the perfectly cooked bacon. And it's all served on a fresh brioche bun. Really the ultimate BEC and an incredible deal.

Eddie R.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop / cafe in Clinton Hill! I get the Chicken Tinga and an Iced Chai with oat milk at least once a week here and every time it's amazing. I've also ordered the club sandwich which was perfect too. The staff is so friendly and remembers me and my friend who order the same stuff all the time. I 100% recommended going here if you're on Myrtle or in Clinton Hill!

Chris W.

Yelp
I live across the street and stop by frequently in the morning for a cold brew before heading to work. This afternoon I finally had the chance to try one of their lunch sandwiches. I ordered the chickpea salad sandwich, which came with curry spiced chickpeas, red onion, celery, arugula and vegan tahini ranch dressing on a great Balthazar ciabatta roll. Delicious! I personally think bread is a crucial sandwich component and all of Calyer's sandwiches come on fresh Balthazar bread, which is probably the best bakery in the city. Coffee is always solid too. Will definitely stop by more often for lunch.

Steven R.

Yelp
Unique Quality sandwiches and if you get the fries expect a large quantity! Food is always fresh and delicious!

Daniel C.

Yelp
I was making my way down Myrtle until I saw this new gem, and curiosity got the best of me. I walked in here looking for a Saturday morning pick me up(Espresso for me), but ended up leaving a well fed man as well. Great food, Great coffee, Great people, and overall a great addition to the neighborhood. What other coffee shop can you get a burger, or chicken burger, or steak sandwich. Fantastic lunch opportunity while satisfying that caffeine addiction. Came here for the coffee...stayed for the food!

Edyta K.

Yelp
Great new addition to the neighborhood! My go-tos at Calyer are the cold brew, roast pork sandwich, and the kale caesar salad; however the menu consists of many more delicious options! The customer service is great as well. Definitely check it out...you won't regret it!

jade g.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place as I was walking down myrtle, and I must say it's a cute shop. Had the Chicken Fry sandwich with a Mexican coke for $16. Food was cooked perfectly and the sauce on it was bomb. I'm from the south and let me tell ya, this fried chicken was EPIC. Will deff be back!

Chris W.

Yelp
Really friendly staff. They recommend the broccoli Ruben and it was very good. Likely the best sandwich I've had in months during covid.

Sindhu G.

Yelp
The best sandwich I've tried in New York. I got the chicken tinga and it def hit the spot!

Sierra M.

Yelp
This place is so cute! New to the area - owner is so nice. Has a really cool vibe, the perfect place to sit and enjoy my coffee and sandwich. Smaller menu but didn't find this as an issue at at. Thinking this will definitely become a weekly spot for me.. always looking to support local small businesses

Lavant G.

Yelp
Wow, Calyer was certainly cool. This place is awesome at what it does. The menu is really great, so many good choices, I had to go with Kale Caesar Salad, and it was fantastic. The staff is great and extremely welcoming. Very surprised, very impressed.

Zeke H.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast sandwiches and quick friendly service at Cayler! Welcome to the neighborhood

Ryan R.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch w/ my wife and some friends while in the area, and quite glad we did. We shared 2 sandwiches, the Tinga, the Parm and also the Kale Caesar salad. The Tinga was a a slightly spicy, burst of stewed flavor on delicious bread. The Parm was equally delish with really flavorful meatballs, fresh mozzarella and a perfect amount of sauce. The salad was also very good with a great proportion of kale and romaine with garlicky croutons and a nice amount of dressing. Oat milk latte on point, and the cold brew was tasty. Wish I thought to take pics before writing this review. Anyhow, legit spot, nice people working there and clean modern atmosphere, check it out!

Chandler H.

Yelp
Everything I have had from Calyer was great! The Beckie is the best breakfast sandwich in town. Chori, Parma are great, too. And they make the juiciest pork anywhere in their roast pork sandwich. It's so good it's insane.

Emma C.

Yelp
Great coffee and great sandwiches! I wish they had more non-sandwich savoury options though for lunch. Overall though great café and I especially recommend the chori (chorizo and avocado + eggs) breakfast sandwich!

Hannah M.

Yelp
Great salad and sandwich options (the tahini salad was awesome!), and some of the best coffee in the neighborhood since the Parlor tasting room shortened its hours. A great addition to the neighborhood, super friendly staff, and a whole exciting range of high-quality, relatively healthy, delicious options for lunch.

Andrew M.

Yelp
I am watching someone rinse the greens before putting them in the salad. If you have ever worked in food service you know how rare this is. A+ Also the food is very good.

Arnold S.

Yelp
Food is great, superb coffee, and great staff. Bright little shop... small but well appointed.

Dagny G.

Yelp
I wasn't really that hungry the day I ate here which is the only reason for the 4 stars because I hadn't yet worked my way through the menu. I had the Tahini salad which was very tasty. They used a variety of lettuces, onion and chickpeas tossed in a homemade dressing that had a light mustard flavor that gave the salad a nice zing. Cozy, plenty of seating, polite staff. Plenty of vegan options. Prices were a little high but they are using fresh organic produce so l felt it was justified. If I'm ever back in the area I would definitely eat here again. I recommend Calyer. Give the place a try.

Victoria A.

Yelp
Everytime I go here I am never disappointed! They have some of the best drinks and are always extremely friendly!! Always recommend this place to my friends and family. 10/10

Chris M.

Yelp
Way over priced for a chicken sandwich 12$ .at least give some french fries with that. Can you say Chick-fil-A.
