The Best Vietnamese Restaurants in Oakland | Eater SF

"Many were devastated when Cam Huong Restaurant closed in Oakland Chinatown — it was a local favorite for exceedingly affordable and reliable banh mi. Fortunately, there’s still this location in East Oakland, serving up the same grilled pork sandwiches for $3.50. The barbecued chicken and curry tofu banh mi are also popular orders." - Janelle Bitker

Google
Love a good banh mi that comes from inside a market deli. We came for a sandwich and wanted so much more. Lots of choices from the hot bar made us want to come back. We got two banh mi’s on this visit and a couple spam musubis. So good.

Google
One of the best places to get a bahn mi and other Vietnamese dishes in Oakland. The original combo bahn mi with its pretty decent price and taste is the star of this place. I also highly recommend the shrimp spring rolls that are on the grab-and-go table, the Pandan and coconut jelly dessert drink(Che Banh Lot) that's located in the fridge, and the banana egg roll (near register counter). Line moves pretty quickly and your sandwich comes around in a few minutes. Props also to the artist who did all those big stop blocks outside the shop to look like popular Asian food items....i.e. Sriracha, shrimp chips, fish sauce, and etc lol.

Google
This spot may lack ambiance—think less “charming bistro” and more “four walls and a countertop”—but it delivers a piping hot performance esp with its stellar banh mi.This place is also my go-to spot for party-sized goodies!Awesome egg rolls and noodles. it’s the culinary equivalent of a trusty old friend—this place is a solid choice, every time

Google
I tried their #1 Banh Mi, which is the original combo with ham, headcheese, pate, and mayo. It was really delicious, and the ingredients were fresh. The sandwich was packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of textures. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a tasty and affordable meal. At just $6.50 for a Banh Mi!

Google
Great place to get banh mi as well as some take out dishes. Also has a good assortment of grab and go dishes. The checkout process is a little confusing. Don't get in line if you aren't ordering food to go. Go to place to get sesame ball dessert snack.

Google
Blessed to have a great Vietnamese food to-go here in Oakland. Cam Huong is awesome. Just walk in, grab or order what you want and be on your way. And the food is so great! It does not matter what I am craving, these more niche side dishes that make up some of the best of Vietnamese cuisine and are not readily available at many restaurants are found here. There is also pretty great ad hoc catering options available and just always happy to pick up food here.

Kevin L

Google
Great place to grab a bite and prices very reasonable. I got the chicken banh mi and it was delicious. There are so steam table with lots of selections. I'll be back when I'm in the east bay.

Christopher Chung

Google
Authentic grab-and-go Vietnamese deli — diverse array of rolls, fried goodies (pork pie, chicken egg roll), and noodle salads pre-packaged on-site for the taking. Asian snacks also available. Will be back to try the hot bar, with more than 20 different options.

Yelp
One of our new fave spots for Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches and traditional viet dishes you can get togo. Unfortunately, this place is street parking only. For clarity: they are not opened on Tuesday's, even though it says they're open on Yelp. We get banh mi cha lua pate and bo nuong with veggies in the sides to prevent it from getting soggy while we travel back home or save for lunch the next day. Sometimes we get the lemongrass tofu (dau hu xa ot) and the lemongrass beef/pork? rice paper rolls (banh cuon thit nuong). Average $6.50 per sandwich. This is mainly a togo spot so do not expect to be seated or waited on. Also, I usually like to call ahead to place my order for pick up, sometimes it gets busy in there and with tricky parking, I like to streamline the pick up process with the lack/scarcity of parking.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
The bahn mi is tiny for the $7 price. I had a lemongrass tofu sandwhich and only the edge had a line of tofu. The sandwhich was all radish and carrots. They have a wide range of hot premade items and snacks. Street parking only Extra fee for using card.

Yelp
I work the grave yard shift so I appreciate that this place opens at 7am. I come here for their prepackaged meals whenever I'm too lazy to cook. They also sell banh mi and hot meals that you can take to go. The banh mi is pretty standard, nothing too special. They go pretty heavy on the Mayo and pate. So if you don't like too much of either, I would ask for less. Parking is street parking and the area isn't too great. So plan accordingly. :)

Yelp
Cam Huong will forever be one of the Best representation of Vietnamese Food for me. Delicious homely Vietnamese Food at an affordable price. I just love coming here to hear my Vietnamese people interact from the counter in our own way. If I were to recommend anything from here? Their 5 Spice Chicken can go to battle with any 5 Spice Chicken in the United States.

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - Special Combo with Pork Roll Slices - Good, my usual go to item. BBQ Chicken with Mayo - Got this for my wife, her usual go to item. Large Chow Mein - Been craving noodles... All of which were good. Nothing special, but good. Good solid food for reasonable prices. Also available are drinks, snacks, prepared foods, etc. See pictures. Also available are soups, rice plates, lunch specials. Catering is also available. I saw a separate line for catering pick up, and it was busy! Atmosphere - Good size location; it looks like they are expanding into next door...? See pictures. No restrooms; they had signs posted everywhere throughout. They must get asked this often. Street parking, good luck. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 6pm. Service - Again, nothing special. Good, not bad. Efficient, not friendly, but not rude. It was busy prime lunch time, but they were fairly organized. I also felt that most, if not all, of their customers were regulars, they all seemed to know where to stand and get in line, especially because they had minimum signage/directions. Price - $20.50, inexpensive in my opinion. 2.8% charge to use a credit card. I paid cash. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1985 and with your two locations.

Yelp
I always go here when I crave banh mi. A lot of toppings to choose from. I'm not a big fan of anything else here though. I tried banh gio, banh tieu and chow fun and their che dessert. Their fried fish ball is alright, little something to snack on. Pricing is very reasonable so if you want a cheap lunch, come here. The checkout line is kinda confusing. It's take out only. Street parking is tricky during lunch time. Otherwise it's not bad.

Yelp
OMG, I missed this delicious deli since they relocated from Webster So glad I get a chance to try it out again The quality of food are the same deliciously good. Service is super fast and they had the assembly line all worked out so fast and efficient. They offer cooked items and prepared lunch box to go for a quick bite and desserts ready made for grabs Defiantly place for a quick and goof food

Jasmine N.

Yelp
I've been to this location and the UC one- you'll have a harder time finding parking here but the location is bigger. The ladies working here are kind and will help you if you're looking for something specific, as they run out of some food items later in the day. No nonsense grab and go items available as well as made-to-order banh mis and a variety of dishes! I can't complain as they keep all my childhood favorites on deck. No seating as far as I saw though. Coincidentally this day, I spotted Dr. Jen Tran (who's running for Congress) coming in with flyers during the afternoon while grabbing my goodies. Definitely a community staple and I'll be back.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
I took off a star because most of their items have no price and they didn't give me a receipt. Also, service was slow even though there were only 3 (including myself) customers and 5 workers. I hated having to ask what each thing costs and the worker was annoyed with having to answer me. Combo sandwich (4/5)- my standard go-to. They've raised the price to $7 and gave me stale bread, didn't even toast it. Meat and veggies were plentiful and kind of makes up for it. Yellow bean sesame ball (4/5): $1.25 each- this is one of those things you typically only find in Vietnamese establishments, as the Chinese places use red bean. Spam musubi: $3/each- new item! Got it for my son and he really liked it Coconut milk bean dessert (chè): (4/5) I didn't wanna know how much it costs, I just bought it. Really good and refreshing!

Yelp
They have some of the best egg rolls, chicken leg quarters, grilled pork chops and bahn mi sandwiches. How can I forget the curry chicken, if it's available that day. Maannn... Mouth watering yummy. I wish the portion was bigger. They can stay pretty busy. Sometimes the line is almost out the door. I believe prior to Covid there was dine in option. But now it's just to go. Which I always do anyway. Had a taste for them the other day but my son wanted something different. Lé sigh.... I'll see you again soon.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for Banh Mi! I usually get Banh Mi #3 because I love Cha Luo (ham/pork roll). They allow customization to exclude toppings like pate (liver) and jalapeños. They offer party platter options on a wide variety of noodles and appetizers. They said it is best to call and place the order one day in advance. I got their egg roll party platter and my guests compliment on it. I also ordered a chicken skewer party platter but they mistakenly gave me chicken wings. If you order party platters for pick up, I recommend you to open the foil lid before you go to make sure you got the right order. They take cash and Venmo. There is a 2.8% extra fee if you use credit card.

Yelp
Glad to have found a new favourite spot for banh mi that's closer than having to go to San Jose. They offered so many different kinds of food, from prepackaged dishes to hot dishes. They also had an assortment of che to choose from. We each got a che to try. I got the one that was green flavoured by pandan which was delicious! And for banh mi, when trying out new places, we always go with the classic combo - thit nguoi. The banh mi was so good. I loved that they give a generous thick layer of pate and lots of Vietnamese style mayo. Both of which I love lots of when it comes to a banh mi. The only downside I would say is in the baguette itself. Regardless, it was still one of the best tasting banh mi's I've had so far in Nor Cal. For payment, they accept credit card and cash. However, if you pay in cash there is a small discount provided.
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
I've had my share of Bay Area banh mi's. It's not easy to find a good one. Cam Huong has solid banh mi's. Today we got two banh mi's - bbq chicken and bbq pork (char sui). They were both really good - crispy fresh bread, perfectly crunchy pickled carrots/daikon, generous amounts of meat, but more importantly, the meats tasted moist and flavorful. The bbq chicken was extremely moist with large pieces of thigh meat - I know this chicken is cooked fresh because they make large quantities of them for their plate lunches. Yes, prices did go up, but I'm willing to pay these prices for good tasting banh mi.

Yelp
Nostalgic and a gem. I came here for banh mi, and as always I got suckered up into grabbing more food that I could consume, as my eyes are larger than my stomach. Their ban mi dac biet can't beat Ba Le, but it got the job done. I'm a sucker for banh giay and nem chua, so of course I grabbed those as well!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here a few times to buy Vietnamese sandwiches when I lived in Alameda a few years ago, and they were good. I finally came back after the pandemic. It's near Oakland Kaiser so I decided to drop by. The plate of egg meatloaf that I bought that day for $8 wasn't 100% fresh, hence the 2 stars. I was extremely disappointed after I tried it when I got back to SF. Initially I was so excited to see that they were selling egg meatloaf which I never see in SF. I love ordering the three color rice from restaurants which comes with an egg meatloaf. They really shouldn't be selling the egg meatloaf $8 if it's not 100% fresh! I felt cheated and not sure if I'll return again when I'm in Oakland next time...

Yelp
I found this place on yelp and decided to stop by. We found street parking across the street. You walk in and it's a large open space. They have a large counter or table with pre made food. The only issue I have with this is they had shrimp spring rolls out on the counter. Seafood needs to be refrigerated and it wasn't. I ordered a chicken bahmi sandwich for $7. Normally they are but in half but this one was not. The sandwich was pretty good . I don't like chicken skin and it was left on there but it was grilled so it wasn't so bad. The bread and the pickled veggies were pretty good. This is a grab and go stop there was nowhere to sit. Overall good sandwich and great price I would go back if I was in the area.

Yelp
One of my favorite cafe delis for on the go Vietnamese food! I am in love with their chicken thighs, so tasty and well seasoned. I give a 5/5 for their chicken! Spring rolls, noodles, fried rice, and Banh Mis are also quite tasty! Lots of options for dishes and sandwiches. I haven't gotten their veggies before or some of their other hot dishes. Service is fast. You just walk up and grab what you want or point to the dishes you want to take out and place your Banh mi order. Parking can be tricky on the street but you can always try to snag a spot at the pho restaurant next door. The area in east oakland is so so but during the day it's generally fine. Ambiance isn't the best but it's a grab and go. Some tables to sit down but really best for to go.

Yelp
Go to staple off of International when you need something quick and delicious. Been getting solid vietnemese from these aunties for years.
google avatar

Felix D.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was little. Due to COVID, there is no dine-in anymore. You can go in hungry and get out with something to eat really quickly. My family ordered 8 banh mis and it was ready in around 5 minutes. Aside from banh mis, there is also a hot food bar, ready to eat prepped Vietnamese food, and other menu items as well. Have been coming here for years and will be coming here for years to come.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Service is bad. The cashier ignored me when I was first, and chose to ring up the lady that came after me just because she was servicing that customer. Extremely rude. Needs to learn manners and proper etiquette regardless of where you are from. Portions are way too small and overpriced. Please bear in mind that there are plenty of food places out there that know how to treat customers right. Have been there plenty of times before, and quality of food has gone down. Definitely will think twice before heading there again. Not much to look at inside. Will give no stars if I can. Not the way a customer should be treated.

Yelp
We cater from them for a lot of our family parties. They are open on thanksgiving and make really yummy rolls and banh cuons. I plan to continue using them for all our parties

Yelp
I discovered Cam Huong a few weeks ago and have been back several times since. I walked in and immediately knew I was in the right place. A sweet older gentleman was in line beside me and asked if it was my first time there (he must have seen my awe). He told me he has been coming there for 20 years and that it hasn't changed a bit. To me, that speaks volumes about any establishment. You can only order to-go. There is no dining inside or outside. They prefer cash but can take venmo. They have an extremely large menu, and a hot bar of tons of delicious items. On the center island, there are usually some freshly packed meals that are easy to grab when you're in a hurry. The prices are insanely low for the quality. Everything i've tried was phenomenal, but the fresh spring rolls are the best i've ever eaten. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Update like I said I would in my last review. Went in today for lunch and got a prepackaged vermicelli dish (this time with egg roll and chicken and it was delicious as expected). Looks like they do switch up their desserts! I love me a Pandan jelly coconut milk and fruits dessert che tai. They had a few options; however, the one I got wasn't really hitting the spot for me. I asked for ice, which they gave to me in a zip lock bag on the side, which was fine with me. I like to add ice to my che. Although it wasn't my favorite che, I still finished it and I'm very tempted to try their other options next time though.

Yelp
me and 2 other friends got bahn mi's and a plate of food here and have had TERRIBLE food poisoning for a whole week. Had to go to the emergency please save your self and do not eat here.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
My homie Jefferey gave me a bahn mi once upon a time and he told me he got it from Oakland. Curiosity brought me here And the authentic food/ prices keep me coming back. This place is a one stop shop! Much love to Cam Huong in Oakland for keeping it legit. $6 for a bahn mi , $2.50 for a grilled chicken thigh, less than $1 for egg rolls , and my favorite they sell the grilled pork by the lb at $10. There is a bakery next door so yunno this place gets fresh French rolls. Come here for the bahn mi and also for the hot deli/catering. Same 4 ladies working here in the front. Always polite courteous and friendly. Parking is always been easy and straight forward here I utilize the lot next door to the pho spot / parking lot across the street and street parking meter. This is my go to Viet deli. Because I feel for the value it's a lot better than most in the South Bay yaddidamean?
google avatar

Yelp
A friend rec'd this place to me and I've only had their catered food - which I super enjoyed so when an opportunity presented itself to actually go in store, I took it! Fantastic prices and portions! A small to go container of chow mien is $3, so we got one of those plus - $3 small to go container of chow fun. The chicken BBQ skewer, egg roll, & meat puff pastry is delicious too! We also got a mango smoothie ($5) and it had real mango chunks inside. Lots of people came in for 3:30 pm on a Wednesday afternoon, and I can see why.
google avatar

Mei L.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years but was craving some banh cuon, so I had to make a trek over. Process did go up, but still worth it as everything taste the same. My go to is a #1, spring rolls or banh cuon (this time both) and I can't forget some whole dried pork cake and shredded pork for some broken rice dishes at home. Totally splurged as it is far from my house, but still worth it. FYI, there is no dine in booths anymore, so all noodles soups are automatically to-go. Replaced with tons of boxes of amazing asian snack so grab some dandy shrimp chips and enjoy.
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
I like everything here - the bahn mi, the hot steaming trays of food, the prepped food wrapped on the tables. The colorful viet desserts in the fridge are great too! The blended drinks are just okay according to my kids. I'm come here again and again. Parking can be tough but this is my favorite bahn mi spot!
google avatar

Yelp
I feel like I might've stopped here when I lived in Oakland and ordered something quick and then underwhelmed by it. I ended up in Oakland a couple weekends ago for a wedding and met my friend in Chinatown so I could pick up some milk tea from IT and I also wanted to grab something quick for breakfast. I decided to come home since a banh mi me seemed like a good idea for our 90 minute drive out to Brentwood. I ordered the tofu banh mì and service was quick and efficient. I ended up eating it in the car and it was such a dry sandwich. The bread was dry, and there was no mayonnaise or moisture from anything. I didn't know a banh mi could be so bad.
google avatar

Joey N.

Yelp
This place offers more options for food than I thought and it was within walking distance to Thanh Ky so it's a nice walk to get some take home munchies. We got some snacks for our movie night, including phở cuốn (pho rolls), bánh bột lọc (tapioca dumplings), bánh gối (pillow dumplings), bánh cuốn (Vietnamese steamed rice rolls), bánh giò (Vietnamese pyramid dumplings). They were all so good and we definitely are coming back to get more food next time. I was surprised that they have bánh gối since I haven't seen them a lot around the area. Beside these takeout options, they do have other menu items like Banh mi, rice, noodles, etc. you name it.
google avatar

Peter H.

Yelp
I'm from OC and I can't find Vietnamese food like that anywhere. This is the closest thing to it though and I love being able to support my people and get a taste of home. The staff is friendly and it feels like my aunties are in the house every time. Great tasting food and the warmth of home is always going to be a win.
google avatar

Francois T.

Yelp
I go to Cam Huong for their banh mi and their steam-table options. Rarely for the prepackaged meals but I may start grabbing those since I moved out of the area. I give them a 5 star for their prices and also the taste of their items. I don't remember ever having a negative meal from there which is why I rate em 5 stars. Parking can be tough sometimes dependent on the time of day and they could be busy when you go but its worth the wait if theres a line.

Dan L.

Yelp
From the banh mi, to the vermicelli, banh cuon, fried rice, noodles, drinks and desserts, and all other items they offer, is worth a try. There's always a line for their delicious food. A go to staple for the family which we visit at least twice a week. Great on the wallet too!
google avatar

Yelp
Banh mi over and **** me silly cuz this joint right here is the best Vietnamese hot deli within a 69 mile radius.
google avatar

Alaric S.

Yelp
First time here! They have a great selection of Pick and choose meals ! theres definitely a combination of different Asian style cooking! I came to try the Pandan waffle and fish dishes! But first will try the banh mi sandwich! surprisingly enough they had four different kinds of noodles, and I saw by the register they had musubi too! it also looks like they have San tung wings which I want to try as well! they also have a lot of selection of Asian snacks!
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
Haven't been back in a while but had to come support our peeps! Got 2 pork combos, 2 bbq chicken banh mi (veggies packed separate so it doesn't get soggy by the time we get home), fried rice, chow mein, and their bbq chicken legs. They're always busy, quick to help, and their banh mi reminds me of the good old days when we were young and carefree. I've been eating their sandwiches for over 15 yrs. You can't have just one sandwich. You'll wish you had ordered more, so try to order at least 4 ;)
google avatar

Evelyn E.

Yelp
I love the grab and go vibe! They have a lot of different options to grab. My favorite is the Shrimp Spring Rolls. So convenient to not have to order at a restaurant and wait for it to be made. It's not the best tasting one I've ever had. But it hits the spot when your craving. They do have hot plate options. And I'm so happy that they have pork stuffed bittermelon soup! I've been looking for a Vietnamese Restaurant that makes this... and I can say... It's so good! I'll definitely be back for more. We've also ordered Banh Mi. And the sandwiches come just as quick as we get to the register to pay! Fast and Friendly Service to go with it! My step dad is Vietnamese. My sister took him here to grab lunch when they came up to visit. He devoured everything he picked up and wanted to go back to bring food home with him. It was that delicious nostalgia he hasn't had in a very long while. So he was the reason I stopped in to experience a meal! I'll definitely will be back! And I'll definitely make a stop to grab some extras to bring home to my stepdad when I visited them:

Yelp
My favorite place for banh xeo Ordering Banh Xeo takes an extra 10-15 min. But it's worth it! I love the variety or herbs they give you when you order it- usually at restaurants they really skimp on the lettuce and herbs. From the takeaway island section - get their: - spring rolls - noodle roll wrapped w/ beef - bao (has Chinese sausage and egg in it too!) - combo rice or noodle plates From the hot food counter: -chicken curry -egg roll I usually don't order items from the hot food counter- but usually you can tell if it's a good time to get it (ie: high turnover, came out hot and fresh). Another highlight is their bahn mi- such a good staple. Lately my go to is the dac biet (cold cuts combination). Good ratio and portions, and the bread they use is perfect- not to crunchy and soft. Everything here is so good, you can't go wrong! I've been coming here consistently for the last two years and I'm glad to see this place still busy with folks!
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Great place to pickup banh mi, ready to eat rice dishes/ noodle dishes, springolls, and various other fresh foods and snacks. Prices are super affordable, $6 for banh mi, and the other dishes / plates are less than $5 each. They also have hot food like thit kho, pad thai, stir fried noodles, and various other dishes. I got 2 banh mi, spring rolls, rice plate, and some squid snacks. The banh mi was delicious, super fresh. The spring rolls were also great. Come here if you want some fresh banh mi, or other hot steamed food. Great prices and fast.

Yelp
We order the take out party trays from here and have had a wonderful experience! Easy to order ahead of time over the phone and pickup was smooth. Prices were reasonable, too!

Yelp
If you want good homemade style Vietnamese food to go? Here it is in Oakland on International Blvd. this place is really busy so expect to wait in line and parking isn't that great so expect to drive around for parking. From prepackaged food Togo and a hot steam line where you can choose from. Many many amazing dishes and snacks for you to choose. So you'll definitely options for lunch, dinner or snacks. I wasn't that hungry so I stopped to pick up some Bahn Mi sandwiches for me and a few coworkers. Also picked up some stir fried noodles for the road. At $5.50 a sandwich it was a good deal with many different meats to choose from. The sandwich is very tasty and had the home cooked feeling. With the usual pickled daikon and carrots it was yumminess in my mouth. However I gotta say some jalapeño slices would've been awesome in it. This is a popular and well known establishment in Oakland and will continue to serve the loyal patrons of the east bay.

Yelp
Some words to a say about this place. I am not going to lie, the location is a bit of a shady area of Oakland. Coming from NYC and thought I saw everything, boy, I was wrong. Much to say about the food though. It was delicious for what it is. We love everything we got and very decent price. I love the grilled chicken and fried rice. Very traditional taste. This place left me good memories so, I would go again.

Debra K.

Yelp
I love the chicken teriyaki sandwich with vegetables. That's actually all I've eaten from there.

Ilan S.

Yelp
Finally doing a review after having a sandwich for breakfast this morning. This place has yet to disappoint! I order the same thing every visit, grilled pork bahn mi, and unlike other places this sandwich contains an actual piece of grilled pork. Veggies are fresh, every bite has such great flavor!!

Rachel C.

Yelp
i called in advance for a tray of banh cuon and it was delicious. it was a hit at the party, everyone loved it. the workers were diligent and there's so much variety of food. there's lots of space inside so it doesn't feel crowded but i can't definitely see myself coming back.

Yelp
I genuinely don't know how I've been living in the Bay and have never been here. I've heard so many people mention this place in passing, but I'm so upset I've been missing out for so long. This place has all the good snacks you'd find at a Ranch 99 as well as warm food! Everything is affordable and tastes so good. I came here for a quick Vietnamese coffee but ended up leaving with spring rolls, vietnamese ham, and some spam masubis. The Vietnamese coffee was super yummy and strong!!

Yelp
It was my first time here. And they generously helped me out with my first order. The food was amazing. The noodles in the rice were cooked perfect. The ginger chicken was perfect and the spinach I was served was also very well. My favorite part of this experience was they had fresh nam in the refrigerator. That I've been looking for for a long time and of course you guessed it. The nam was amazing.

Yelp
Very good food for the price. I highly recommend this over over similar stores. I never had an issue with their food.

Yelp
I got the number 1 combo sandwich $6 plus tax, the service was pretty fast. They also sell finished plates, pho, or individual dishes you can buy. I do wish they had a sign stating if the food was vegetarian or not. The sandwich was very average, with the pate smelled a bit than I like. They no longer have in store dining just togos only.

Yelp
Cam Huong doesn't make the biggest bahn mi or the most affordable, but they get top marks for a perfect balance of ingredients. I like the #5 Pork with Anchovy Sauce and #10 Beef Wrapped w/Onions. I usually get the Dac Biet (combination) but the #6 here doesn't do it for me; not enough pate and the pork cake doesn't have enough flavor. Maybe the #1 is the combo I'm really after. They used to be in Oakland Chinatown but have moved to a desolate zone on International. Benefits are easy to find free parking, and a park a block up if you feel comfortable having a picnic there. (There are some questionable characters roaming about.) Takeout only as of May 2021. My go-to is Saigon Sandwich on Larkin but Cam Huong is a very close second.
