How Las Vegas Mexican-Italian Food Truck Camaradas Came to Be - Eater Vegas

"Camaradas, a food truck that opened in January 2019 and serves both Mexican and Italian fare, doesn’t quite make sense — until it does. To its owners, German Castellanos and Juventino Angeles, cooking and serving Mexican and Italian food in the same place comes naturally. The small team chose the name Camaradas Mexican-Italian Kitchen, which translates to comrade, ally, or friend. They purchased a former taco truck in July of 2018 and quickly found their location through a family friend who owns a nearby car wash and window-tinting business. They spent the next six months securing permits and designing the menu, which is split into Italian dishes and Mexican dishes. On the Italian side, there’s rigatoni Bolognese, cheese ravioli, and spaghetti with meatballs. The star of the Mexican side of the menu is the huarache, a base of crispy masa topped with beans, cheese, and meat. Other highlights include the chicken tinga taco, wet burrito with carne asada, and the chicken Milanesa torta, which is made with quesillo directly imported from Oaxaca." - Krista Diamond

Had a great experience, the staff is super friendly. Really recommend this place for my foodies out there. An interesting take on Italian and mexican(oaxacan) food. I can see why they're loved by locals. Definitely gonna keep coming here with my family!

Solid Carne Asada burrito 🌯! Good quality meat, great portion, reasonable prices, tasty sauces and very friendly customer service. Checks all the boxes. I'll definitely be back to try the pastas and chicken tinga when I'm back in the area. And rewards!? Quit playing.. Thank you bro! Come support this small business! LOL @Owner, I always like em cut in half so I save it for later. Does make for a good photo too though I guess lol 😊 👊

I was waiting for the Toyota dealership to service my truck and needed some lunch. Everyone at the dealership told me to try Nevada Chicken and Ribs but I prefer to make my own ribs and I wasn't feelin' the chicken. I pulled out my trusty Yelp app and found this food truck. I went there planning for tacos and realized that I had found my go-to spot for shrimp burritos when I got there. I did get some tacos as well but the burrito was the definite standout. I had a spot in WA I used to go for these but i hadn't found one here in NV since I arrived nearly two years ago. This is definitely my spot. The shrimp was fresh and delicious and the flavors were fantastic. The prices were a little on their high side, which is why I probably will skip the tacos going forward, but they were reasonable for the shrimp burrito. The service was outstanding and I'll stop by anytime I'm on that side of town and craving burritos.

We stopped in Las Vegas on a road trip and this is hands-down the best place we went to. The food is super creative and tasty and the owner/chef is very passionate about the food he’s making. We had the Carne Asada Fettuccine, Saffron-rice Shrimp Burrito, and the Chicken Milanesa Torta and they were all fantastic.

I’m so impressed with the quality of the food and service. All of their sauces are homemade and they use organic vegetables. I tried the cheese ravioli and it was amazing. You can taste the Fresh cheese and fresh pasta melting in your mouth. I also tried he mezcal pink sauce pasta and I have to say that it is a great combination !! The also have vegetarian options. Like huarache or other kinds of pastas. Food it’s amazing. You have to give them a try.

Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in the city. They combine my two favorite cuisines, Mexican and Italian, which they do so well. They have a wide selection of food options on their menu to satisfy any craving. I love that their menu has very original takes on some of my favorite dishes. My favorite dish is their Mezcal Pink Sauce Pasta, it's almost always my go to. Not only is the food fantastic but the owner, German, is always super nice and friendly when you go. He always seems to remember you whenever you go eat and strike up a conversation while you wait. I have never heard anything negative from anyone I know has gone and tried their food
