"Josephine, an Italian restaurant dedicated to pizzas, Roman street snacks, and recipes from Scelfo’s Italian American upbringing, is opening inside Somerville’s Cambria Hotel, at 515 Somerville Avenue, this spring. Deep and thin-crust pizzas are at the center of Josephine’s menu, according to Scelfo." - Erika Adams

Great hotel. Excellent customer service! I would ask for something and someone would be at my room door in a matter of minutes. The mandatory valet parking was kind of inconvenient, but we never had to wait very long for our car or to drop it off. The room was immaculate and the daily house cleaning was very well done and detailed.

Awesome stay! Very polite and respectful valet and front desk. Very understanding for my parent's poor english skill. Obviously not as good as a 5 star hotel, but for the price it was awesome!! The room was big enough for a family of 4. Parking price was reasonable and offered us charging for the EV.

Great stay! Wish they had help with luggage, but not really a problem if you use their carts. Only other suggestion is put water in the room - if you have a coffee maker, don’t make me buy water - add $5 more to the room price. All in all a good stay - comfy bed, clean room, great front desk. I’ll be back!

The Cambria is a modern themed upscale styled hotel in Somerville. Unfortunately, while there have been some things that have made the stay more enjoyable, there have been several that would turn me to another hotel for my next visit to Boston. The good news: the hotel seems quite safe, the rooms are reasonably spacious, the water pressure in the shower is good, and the bed is quite comfortable. The artwork and design style is a bit off putting, however. The carpet in the hotel hallway is almost dizzying, and if you pass that field sobriety test, you may fail the one in the bathroom where the over commode artwork is literally nausea inducing. If you think I may be exaggerating, the prior occupant apparently failed that sobriety test as evidenced by the vomit chunks which were washed out of the sink bowl, but still clearly visible in the drain trap. How could we be certain it was vomit? The look for sure - but mostly the smell. The bathroom is also, despite the three lights present, one of the most poorly lit bathrooms I've ever seen in a hotel. If you need to look your best for a meeting or a wedding, look elsewhere. Also, the walls are thinner than they ought to be for a more upscale marketed hotel, as evidenced by the very nice family next door to us, and the barn style bathroom doors don't ever get oiled, apparently, because you can not only hear the squeaking of your own but also that of your neighbor's doors. I will say, the staff have all been very nice, personable, and helpful. Unfortunately, that is not enough to make me want to return.

The hotel is located conveniently near Amtrak's South Station, just a 15-minute Uber ride away. The area is safe and quiet. The rooms are very clean and peaceful, and the shower facilities are excellent with good water pressure and hot water. I especially loved the bathroom mirror, which has Bluetooth connectivity, allowing me to connect my device and play music or listen to the news while I showered. The service at this hotel is outstanding. Valet parking is available for a fee. The hotel also features a small game room for children and a fitness room for adults, although there is no pool or sauna on the premises. The lobby has nice, comfortable seating. There’s a charming restaurant called Josephine’s that serves delicious food, including pizza and mozzarella sticks. I took a family member there for a short weekend getaway to celebrate his birthday. When we entered the room, he was surprised to find a gift basket from the Cambria staff, wishing him a happy birthday. The basket was filled with his favorite treats: chocolate and popcorn. It truly made his day, and he thoroughly enjoyed his stay. I will definitely return for another getaway or vacation, and I plan to visit Cambria Hotels in other locations as well since we enjoyed our stay so much.

We arrived very late from the airport and was easily accommodated to check-in. The hotel room had plenty of space and comfortable bedding for a great night sleep! Easy walking access to lots of restaurants and activities including Harvard Yard! The service at breakfast was excellent and the food was delicious and timely ! Would come back again to this hotel!

Google
The hotel is nice and clean. Parking is a problem. $33 per night + tips for valet and no self parking available. Also no street parking in the neighborhood due to meters and permits. Big hidden cost. Also the surrounding area is not very nice. Very little within walking distance.

Google
Staff was exceptional, a rarity these days. Super comfortable beds & pillows. Extremely accommodating putting family members in close proximity.|Wonderful location for a good night sleep to enjoy downtown Somerville & Boston|My only suggestion is adding bananas and sausage to breakfast.

Yelp
Musty sheets, housekeeping left rags in our room... Management indifferent to the shortcomings. Waited 15 minutes at valet as driveway was blocked when they transported garbage. Nice relatively new hotel. Restaurant downstairs has also welcoming setting but lots of flies trapped at the windows.

Yelp
This hotel is GREAT. After booking a hotel for Harvard graduation months in advance to get a good rate I decided to switch to Cambria a week before to be closer to campus. It was not much more and ended up being a quick 15-20 min walk. This was easily the largest regular hotel room I've stayed in, in the Boston area. Bathrooms have a Bluetooth speaker in the mirror and room already has a hand steamer in it. I was able to request an iron for my parents room. Rooms are modern, clean and renovated. Staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. Restaurant is good. Highly recommend if coming to the area, especially if proximity to Harvard is a must.

Yelp
Fabulous property! I only stayed here for one night midweek. I chose this location outside of Boston in Somerville because there are so many bars and restaurants in walking distance. Even a park nearby. The Cambria line is part of Choice Hotels. I don't hold status here, but was treated like a top tier customer. The vibe is modern, swanky, upscale. Very boutique. Coffee and water in the lobby during the day. Hot chocolate and water in the evenings. We got a standard king room and it was huge, clean, well designed and comfortable. I was texted several times during the stay to make sure everything was going well. Something most luxury properties rarely do. Most importantly, our room was quiet. No outside noise from the street or other rooms. Restaurant on site is called Josephine's and looked like a lot of fun. Italian food with a great wine list. Not any plant based options, so we went elsewhere. This hotel is pet friendly. Pets of any kind and size are welcome and it's just $75 for your entire stay. I didn't have my pets with me, but this is good to know. Valet parking is the only option and it's reasonable ($25 or 30 for city parking is a deal) and easy with the lot on site. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least and will absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
LOVE THIS HOTEL -- had a crazy experience trying to find a hotel on a Saturday night, every hotel in what seemed like the entire state was booked...we drove for hours and hours and luckily stumbled upon the Cambria. Sebastian at the front desk went out of his way to provide the best customer service and he was a great comfort after the comically long night we had just experienced. This hotel is clean and nice and all of the staff from the front desk to the valet drivers are top notch and helpful. Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful but close to just about anything you're looking to find. I also found the design of the hotel to be fun and interesting. Will definitely be staying here next time we're in town and can't say enough good things about Sebastian who provided A+++++ customer service.

Yelp
Decent hotel with nice atmosphere. Somerville seems a little sketchy to walk around but the hotel was nice. Very clean. Rooms were immaculate.

Yelp
Good, moderately priced hotel. Attractive decor. Recently remodeled perhaps. Convenient to have tasty food downstairs. Pasta dish was great. Expensive parking . On street parking available but you have to get up early to move your car.

Yelp
The hotel is a beautiful modern space. The lobby is so elegant and welcoming. The rooms are large and luxurious. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome even though we arrived late at night. They extended us the courtesy of an extra hour to check out and they offered us a place to keep our luggage for a few hours. The hotel is within walking distance of the Porter Square T stop. They also have parking in the back. There is ample security as you have to use your key card to go to the guest floors. Thank you Cambria-Boston.

Yelp
This place is new, modern, and really nice. Everything was super clean and the staff was awesome. We traveled with an infant and they brought us a crib at 2am no problem. 10/10 recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Room is clean and very modern. Loved the lobby with free coffee and tea. Very nice gym. Area is incredibly walkable and close to Harvard. We would definitely stay again.

Sara G.

Yelp
Pretty decent! Almost 4 stars. Feels new and clean. Location not so good in my opinion, totally safe just boring (coming from a Bostonian). Great gym, new and big. Parking is 30$ per night.

Steve H.

Yelp
Sweet hotel. Quiet, clean and modern, and everything worked. Best feature was the casual Happy Hour downstairs with beer, wine, cheese, local snacks with comfortable couches and tables. An unexpected treat! Friendly, helpful staff throughout our stay. Nice quiet rooms, fast elevators. Bonus: Free guest laundry machines to use.. leave your quarters home. Easy valet parking. Plenty of walking-distance options, including two Indian food places, pizza, chicken wings and Dunkin's next door. Would gladly stay here again.

Greg B.

Yelp
Awesome Hotel. Location is up and coming but not close to the T if you want to head into town. Rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. The fitness center and amenities are sophisticated.

Yelp
Above and Beyond. I stayed there last weekend while attending an intensive weekend at Harvard. Before my arrival, the hotel texted me to ask if I needed anything. As a JOKE I said "yeah, a photo of Nicholas Cage stealing the declaration of independence. No, just kidding, nothing I need." They replied with a chuckle and told me if I needed anything, do let them know. I was very surprised they reached out - that's not something I'm accustomed to. On arrival Friday around 11:30 AM, I was greeted very warmly by the two working the front desk. My room was ready, and they also let me know they had wine and cheese nightly from 5-7 PM. Wine and cheese is an understatement; they also had a small hot station with a different bite every night, and a nice selection of local beers, too. It was great! When I walked into the room, I momentarily forgot about the funny request and saw a picture of Nicholas Cage staring back at me. I thought - "this is the strangest hotel art I've ever seen." Wow, fantastic attention to detail. The rooms are quite spacious and the bathrooms are extremely modern with brilliant little touches, like a textured metal bar in the shower for those that might need to shave their legs, and a Bluetooth speaker built into the bathroom mirror. Downstairs they had different flavors of "spa-water" every day at no charge, and there was a small "marketplace" with some local beverages and snacks available for purchase (and at reasonable prices, too). I appreciated some of the local coffees, sodas, and popcorn during my stay. If you're heading to Harvard, it's a 15-minute walk to campus through a mostly residential neighborhood or about a 6-minute uber. There's also a great brew-pub/microbrewery across the street with live music. That was a pleasant surprise. Loved this place, and have already booked my next stay. Can't wait to come back!

Erin C.

Yelp
Such a beautiful new hotel! The room details felt really luxurious and we so appreciated how kind and helpful everyone working there was. The hotel is minutes from Harvard University and Union Square, so it's a fantastic place to stay if you're visiting colleges or looking for a fun area with delicious food options.

Yelp
New rooms with super comfy beds and bedding. Sleeping here is a dream. Love the beds! The room cleaning service is not always the same time every day. One day at 4:30 pm I had to ask the front desk if they were coming. The front desk promptly contacted them and they advised me that they were in the room. Hanging out in the lobby is nice. Comfy seating with electrical plugs nearby. And a back seating area which serves wine and appetizers in the evening. The best part was meeting Chris, the evening host, who served the appetizers, beer and wine. I have to say the people make the hotel what it is. From the front desk, housekeeping, front doors men to evening hosts: they all are welcoming! Good job Cambria! I can't wait for the upcoming adjoining eatery in the hotel.

Yelp
Brand new property just shaking out the quirks and the restaurant/bar is in progress. Main highlights for us were the people and the neighborhood. The people were just an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to their guests. No corporate drones here folks, a great fresh vibe with folks who know the area. Genuinely enjoyed engaging with them all. Pleasantly surprised by how much this neighborhood has changed. Aeronaut and Bow Street Market and Remnant Brewery were boujie awesome. Fresh beer, great music , phenomenal people watching. We loved it and it is all around the corner. Happy Hour beer and wine selection was great, food delicious! So what did they get wrong? The toilet paper hanger is backwards, the towel rack only has room for 1 towel to hang. There is missing furniture for the room, lots of usb outlets did not work. Not enough AC plugs, the freaking gate in the stairwell is a gong that echoes through your bones when used. I thought it was a church, it is not. The shower seal leaks onto the bathroom floor, the shower water pressure was ok, the carpet nap was ridiculously thick for wheeling luggage across, and a few more that are smaller. Gym, game room, and lobby kick butt. Just amazing. So yes, go and enjoy. We did :)

Yelp
I love this hotel! It's the perfect business get-away: clean rooms, nice workout equipment, and a delicious restaurant downstairs. The only con was it's too far to walk to the Harvard campus but it's about a 5-6 minute drive if that's the purpose for your stay.

Edward G.

Yelp
I found the staff to be very rigid with me, I asked for coffee and the first lady behind the desk said they didn't have anymore just decaf.? I asked a couple hours later to a different employee and she went into the kitchen and did the extra work to go get some coffee pots. Doesn't seem like they like older gentlemen there too much I also noticed being on the fourth floor that when the wind was blowing outside one of the panels to the window would shake and make noise

Diane C.

Yelp
Unbelievable how the housekeeping staff don't clean your room. Once I complained, the next morning the housekeeping staff walked right into my room without knocking first and this happened with two different housekeepers. Also, you need your key to turn on and off the lights. The bathroom has no ventilation and the rooms were stuffy. I was so disappointed with this hotel and they don't have managers on staff just inexperienced staff who apologize but can't do anything. I will never stay at a Cambria hotel again.

Jeff W.

Yelp
We always stay at 4 and 5 star hotels and Cambria was awesome. When you walked in the hotel smelled great! It was clean and bright the beds were very comfortable. Hotel staff was great and next to the hotel was a DUNKIN donuts so that was awesome! Lobby had a few sitting areas to choose from to sit and relax or work. Fantastic hotel and I recommend it with 5 stars and will stay there again and will look for other Cambria hotels to stay at!

Ben D.

Yelp
This was a great stay! Attentive staff- all modern amenities and easy valet parking. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone interested in proximity to Boston and to Harvard University. The area also has some excellent restaurants.

J P.

Yelp
Really happy with our stay here. The hotel is very clean and the staff was very friendly. There is no self parking, you must use valet parking and there were a lot of cars when we got there but the valet, although probably overwhelmed, handled himself really professionally. Our car was retrieved very quickly each time we requested it. Our room was perfectly clean and the beds were very comfortable. I'd stay here again for sure.

Yelp
Stayed there a week ago. First time seeing the hotel it was beautiful and fit into the esthetic that Somerville has to offer. At check in I was upgraded to a King Suite and the room was absolutely beautiful. The downstairs lobby was super cute and reminding me of the Cambria Houston Downtown where I stay often. Very homey and warm. They have nice seating areas to make it feel warm and welcome to sit and relax despite being in the lobby of a hotel. The rooms are really unique in that you need the hotel key to work the lights in the room something that stands out with this property. The surrounding area is easily accessible. Easy to walk to all the restaurants nearby plus a lot of choices for food around. Extremely close to the colleges around and during the school year it is the perfect place to stay to have that access to the schools. Overall wonderful stay, beautiful building, and great location.

Yelp
I just got back from my second stay here. I liked it so much I came back! This is a beautiful, calm and quiet hotel, a great base for exploring Somerville and Harvard Square. The staff is friendly, willing and cheerful, felt very welcoming. During my first visit, one of the valets brought my car around for me under the shelter so I wouldn't get rained on. A side note: my car had a big roof top carrier holding more of my daughter's belongings, and I knew it wouldn't fit in a garage. The Cambria Somerville has secure outdoor valet parking, exactly what I needed. I enjoyed the Happy Hour in the comfortable lounge area. Both my rooms were lovely--quiet, low-key decor with the most amazingly comfortable beds (much better than my own!) and a big bathroom. They offer a nice breakfast, but I also recommend walking three blocks to The Forge Bakery--yum. There's also a Dunkin next door, and a Walgreeens across the street. I plan to return!
