We had a terrific stay at Cambridge House B & B. The proprioters are delightful, their B & B is a classic & classy place to stay. It is a beautiful place, the breakfasts were incredible. Will be going back, for sure. It is close enough to places to eat & drink, sites and parks. We had a great time in Cambridge and surrounding areas. Highly recommend staying there. Wonderful experience!!!!

We stayed at this lovely B&B the last weekend in September 2024, and also about a year before. To start off, the house is a large, elegant Victorian, on one of the most beautiful streets in Cambridge, MD, lined with homes dating back to the 19th and 18th century. Indeed, I think there are very few more beautiful streets in the country.||The house is in excellent shape, and furnished with fine antiques and/or period-appropriate furniture. (No IKEA here!) In both cases, the rooms were lovely, superbly clean, and well appointed, with a spindle bed, dressers, Victorian chairs, attractive mirrors (ideally, a little bigger would have been better), a more-than adequate closet and a gas fire place that looked like we could use it. The bathrooms in the rooms we used (first floor) are small, but modern, equipped with lush towels, and immaculately clean. ||The ample front porch is a verandah looking into the brick-paved street, one half screened-in and the other open. A perfect spot to sit in the shade and read. ||Breakfast was served on elegant china (the same pattern as my mother-in-law’s), with charming juice glasses. Coffee, and tea of course. Pancakes with bacon were simple and delicious.||Among the other guests were an artist/vendor who was in town for the street fair, and a very interesting couple who were taking advantage of Cambridge’s flat geography for a bicycle tour. They offered lively and well-informed conversation. ||The air conditioning worked well, which is absolutely essential in Cambridge in summer. ||The owners are very friendly, responsive and accommodating. After we had checked out, we spent a couple more hours in town, and were graciously allowed to keep using our bathroom before getting on the road. ||Fair warning - the web accurately site discloses that this B&B is not ADA compliant, having been grandfathered as a historical property. No ramps or elevators. But there are 2 fine guest rooms on the first floor, so if you can make it up 6 or 7 front steps, there are no obstacles to those rooms. ||Highly recommended.

We spent a truly comfortable 2 nights at the Cambridge House. The room was quaint and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. The location is very convenient to both restaurants and sights. Highly recommended for adults. The hosts are fascinating individuals who have great professional experiences as well as friendly hosts. Just delightful visit.

We really enjoyed our recent weekend at Cambridge House. Among the unique features were our beautifully decorated bedroom with antique furniture, the claw foot tub, and the wonderful collection of paintings the hosts had collected from all their international tours of duty. As B&B enthusiasts, we especially appreciated the creative gourmet breakfasts which were among the best we have sampled. Hosts Marianne and Jim make you feel very welcome and, at your choice, will share fascinating stories of their travels all around the world. The house is conveniently located within walking distance of historic Cambridge which boasts great restaurants like Blue Ruin and Vintage 414, and unique boutiques. We also enjoyed the sunsets, the short walk to the lighthouse and the beautiful waterfront. Victoria and Paul

Enjoyed a lovely 2-night stay in the comfortable, spacious and immaculate Dorchester Room. Cambridge House is a gorgeous historic house with period antiques and beautiful artwork collected by wonderful innkeepers Jim and Marianne from their travels all over the world. They are very friendly and interesting hosts to talk to. They prepared a delicious healthy breakfast every morning and made every effort to keep all guests comfortable during our stay. The house is perfectly located with an easy 5-minute walk to the lighthouse Marina and to local restaurants and shops in downtown Cambridge. Enjoyed meeting their sweet animals too. Will definitely be back!

This is one of the best bnbs I have stayed at. The house is immaculate and decorated with period antiques that made me very comfortable sitting down anywhere particularly the parlor and adjacent porch. Jim and Marianne the hosts are very welcoming. They have interesting backgrounds. The breakfast was very nice and not too much. You can’t be in a better location in Cambridge. We walked to the craft brewery and several good restaurants. It is also beside the river marina with good views and a nice early morning or evening walk. I highly recommend staying here.

This perfectly restored historical Inn just yards away from the Choptank River in Cambridge, Maryland was delightful place to stay. Our room was immaculate and we enjoyed staying on both the front and back porches.||It was easy to walk to dinner at a good restaurant and the trip to the harbor was just steps away. ||Marianne and Jim were delightful hoss and we especially liked their cat and dog. We will definitely return.

The Cambridge House is a lovely place to stay. Marianne and Jim are warm and welcoming hosts, including providing tips for restaurants and places to see. The rooms are nicely decorated. The breakfasts were outstanding. The location is great. Walking distance to RAR brewery, Vintage and other great restaurants and just two blocks from the riverfront.

Yelp
The Hyatt was booked for a conference so I had to find another option. This place is outstanding- clean, great location near the water and gracious hosts. The breakfast is a 'foodie's ' dream. Asparagus omelette with homemade sides. Much better than a hotel stay!!

Yelp
My husband and I took my elderly aunt and uncle on a weekend outing to the Eastern Shore, spent two nights at the Cambridge House B&B. We wanted to give them an escape from the day-to-day with all their needs cared for -- and the Cambridge House B&B more than met our hopes. The gracious old mansion is perfectly situated on a quiet street within a few blocks of the harbor (with iconic lighthouse) and quaint downtown Cambridge. Our rooms were large and pleasant, each with a comfortable bed, in-room gas fireplace, TV, beautiful antique furniture, up-to-date and well-equipped bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, made from locally-raised produce and meat, with tasty breads from a nearby bakery. Jim and Marianne also catered splendidly to a gluten-free diet in our group. The weekend was rainy and the dining room was an inviting place to linger and chat with our friendly hosts and the other guests. Jim and Marianne were also great for tips on restaurants and local sights. All of us greatly enjoyed our stay at the Cambridge House B&B.

Yelp
Never been to a bed and breakfast before. It's a really cute place and the owner Jim (and his wife) are really nice and helpful for being new to the area themselves. They had just bought the business a few weeks prior and are getting things up and running. They are doing an awesome job. The only quirky thing was I Wasn't sure where to put my dishes and took them to the kitchen, was stopped and in a "polite" northern way asked to stay out of the kitchen. I'm from the south... I know what hospitality is like and is all about. I've never been to a northern establishment that was up to par with kindness even if it is faked. Stay out of the kitchen!! Fair warning!! :) great visit over all though. Would be nice if the hot tub were working. The misquotes are the size of jumbo jets there... bring your off.

Yelp
Cute B & B! The owners were really nice & accommodating & I love their dog! We rented out all the rooms for my brother's wedding. Some of the rooms have a few things that need work, but they were are all nicely decorated. The hot tub in the back is a nice way to unwind from the day & the porch in the front is a great way to relax with a book. Snapper's Waterfont Cafe is right behind the B & B so you can walk to a restaurant without setting foot in your car. There is also a crab hatchery next door where we scored the freshest crab I've ever had. I liked the location as it is 1 block from the wharf. If you like to fish bring your fishing pole as they fish right in the parking lot. If you take a 5 minutes walk the other direction you will be in downtown Cambridge where you can go to church, eat out, go shopping or have a fun night on the town. The location is truly ideal!

Yelp
Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to stay at this bed and breakfast. I had two nights booked for next week for a vacation with my mom. She passed away suddenly this week. I called the innkeepers today to cancel our reservation, and was told that I will be charged in full for our stay. Their cancellation policy is 15 days prior to your stay. I'm disappointed that they were not compassionate and did not offer a bereavement exception. I will not be recommending this bed and breakfast and will not stay there in the future.

Yelp
The female owner is crabby and not very nice to young people. The yard needs some work. The bushes are unkept and there are no flowers or landscaping. Very dissapointing.

Yelp
No complaints. Professional innkeepers Maryanne and Jim have a serious operation, no air bnb side job, this is a clean and classy pre-revolutionary war home (with later additions). Medium portion, quite-classy breakfasts, higher level of service than most b&bs. Tasteful appointments. Spacious rooms. Screened in porch made nice space for ten of us to have wine & cheese. A block from a lighthouse, a marina, town center, AND Snappers, one of the best restaurants, dockside dining-- a really perfect location, in our book. Town center is totally walkable, an awful lot to enjoy. House is right on the MD Iron Man route. Really enjoyed this place. Hot tub has some years on it but gets the job done.

Yelp
The house is old and beautiful. We stayed in the Bay Room and the bathroom was skinny and oddly shaped, but considering the age of the house I liked the character. The location is perfect for downtown-plenty of options for dining and doing within walking distance. The breakfast was good- strawberries in a glaze and pancakes. There are no choices though, so we were lucky all members enjoyed the meal. The brewed coffee in the morning is dark, rich and delicious. The owners were fine. They offered help, but definitely kept their distance and did not become overly friendly. I generally like this as I am on vacation to visit with my family, but at one point my mom walked into the kitchen by mistake. She was told, not rudely but firmly, to stay out of there. My problem with the B&B was the price for what we got. Everything was in place- great house, great location, great guests at breakfast- but the final touches were lacking. There was a CD player in our room with our clock. It did not work. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom. It only ran on high. There was a tissue box in our room. It only had one tissue. The covers for the beautiful 4-post bed was lovely, but it was too short with two people under it. The blankets and sheets provided did not feel good and they were thin. We were only provided one extra blanket despite the fact that we had 2 beds. I slept on a cot for $50 extra. It was incredibly uncomfortable with a bar in my back all night. Even the mattress on the double bed was not incredibly comfortable. The owners have a dog and a cat. I love animals, but Max was all in our business the moment we walked in the door. And Max wandered from table to table at breakfast begging. The owner told us he was not to beg and she was very curt with my daughter to tell her not to feed him (not that my daughter had or would even think about it). Then she walked away leaving Max at our chairs looking up at us. I enjoy staying in B&Bs. They feel like home. They feel good. They make you feel like you are on a week's vacation even if you are just there for one night. Cambridge House did not do that for me. It just was not worth the price.

Yelp
My wife suffered a concussion two days before our scheduled stay in early April and was medically restricted from traveling. We explained that as a public school teacher who would be out of work for at least several weeks, my wife could not take additional time off during the school year. We requested a credit that would extend beyond the school year. The owners refused and issued a credit expiring 5/31, knowing we could not use it. They suggested we use the $600 credit by making multiple single overnight trips from NJ to MD. Even if we could do that, which we could not, most weekends were already completely booked! We admittedly cancelled less than 15 days in advance due to this unforseen medical emergency. However, we did not request a refund, only a credit that we could actually use. But, they would only issue one that they knew we could not use. Beware, because if you find yourself in this situation the owners will show no compassion! And, this is contrary to the image of the warm and welcoming B&B they seek to convey.

Yelp
Warm and lovely B&B, operated by the very gracious Jim and Maryann (sp?), who made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed in the Somerset Room with a comfortable four-poster bed, fireplace, and reading area. A larger TV, perhaps above the fireplace, would be a nice touch, but when you're in Cambridge, there are too many things to do and see (especially within walking distance) that you wouldn't have time for watching TV anyway! I was very impressed with the meals served at breakfast in the gorgeous dining room decorated with eclectic antiques. We had juice/coffee, pancakes with blueberries/chocolate chips, crispy bacon, and sliced pears with a drizzle of caramel, I believe. The second day, they served a spinach and tomato fritatta, sourdough bread with jam, and a starter of roasted grapes with sea salt, a dollop of Greek yogurt, topped with tarragon. Yummy! We would definitely stay again. Thank you Jim and Maryann! P.S. -- They have a cute cat and small dog roaming the premises, and they are both well-behaved!

Yelp
My wife and I were in the Cambridge area house hunting and trying to get a feel for the vibe of the town. Stopping at Cambridge House on a whim as we drove back from the waterfront, we were greeted at the door very warmly by Jim and Marianne and their dog Max. It felt like dropping in on old friends. We were settled and given the tour of the beautiful Victorian home, followed by tips on places to visit in the area and an invitation to a home cooked breakfast the following morning. The entire visit was precisely what we were looking for in the town and had the laid back country charm we had hoped to find. The comfort and style of the B&B with the proximity to all the local eateries, bars, and waterfront activities means Cambridge House will be our stopping over point while we go through the house buying process. If you stay there, visit Snapper's Waterfront Cafe directly behind the Cambridge House.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at the Cambridge House! The rooms are warm and inviting and the owners take great care in ensuring that their guests have a nice stay. The location is great--walking distance to historic downtown Cambridge and the docks and lighthouse. The town is relaxing and slow-paced, and a wonderful place to unwind! Loved it!
