"If you need a caffeine fix at this point in your trip, you’ll do well by stopping at Camellia Coffee in Sacramento. Not only do they roast and serve excellent coffee — and have wildly creative co-ferments via their offshoot Opal Coffee Club — this cafe also sells excellent breakfast sandwiches and bagels until 1 p.m. daily. Get your espresso fix, try the horchata cold brew, or level out with some kombucha in this hip Sacramento coffee shop." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri

Google
The breakfast sandwich that I got was excellent, and the staff was friendly. The atmosphere inside is very pleasant. Outdoor seating also available. I had no trouble finding a free parking spot on a Monday morning.

Google
Food is amazing. Coffee is so good. Love how they don't have 8k options. Nice, simple, cool relaxing vibe. Staff is extremely nice as well. Seating inside and out. They'll call your name for food and drinks even if you're outside.

Google
They roast AMAZING coffee here, seriously one of the best out of all I’ve tried!!! Something about it. Their espresso is so deep so smooth so you can’t go wrong with a latte or any espresso drinks. The cold brew is a wonderful choice during hot weather. It’s not acidic at all, chocolatey and nutty just the best. Food options are so good too. I always get the Veggie Egg Sandwich. The combination is just chef’s kiss! Also (I don’t know how long this deal lasts) I went on Wich Wednesday and I got a sandwich and cold brew for the price of normally just a sandwich! Such a steal!! The staff are so friendly and helpful. I asked questions about bring home coffee choices and a staff member made a spot on recommendation. He also offered to grind the whole beans for me. Everyone’s just wonderful and made the experience 1000 times better. The environment is very clean. I love the tall ceilings and the artful decor. Love this place!! They also recently added a claw machine where you can win prizes. It’s so fun!! I hope they keep it forever.✨

Google
Great coffee shop and one of my favorites to visit in the area. The breakfast sandwiches are a must try; not such a big fan on the drinks/coffee . Great atmosphere, though a bit over crowded and loud. A great place to meet for coffee and conversation but if you’re trying to study and want to focus- sitting outside would probably be best.

Google
I tried the horchata cold brew and a regular coffee with one of their pastries. The cold brew was super yummy! Lots of cinnamon flavor. The coffee isn't anything unique, just coffee. The service is pretty fast and friendly. Lots of people come and dine in, others like myself take theirs to go.

Google
Given the harshness of the world, the seemingly inevitable economic and ecological collapse, and the propagation of endless conspiracy theories in an incredibly divisive country, finding a charming cup of coffee served by nice people in a good atmosphere feels almost spiritual. Every single member on staff here is so kind and giving. It makes you want to go out and figure out how you, too, can give back to your community. It's just coffee. But also it's so much more. The interior is beyond beautiful and cute. The coffee is delicious. Very positive vibes! 20/10 would Camellia again!

Google
The café is busy, and the organization is less than ideal, but the staff are knowledgeable. The hooked up bagel is excellent. I did not like the horchata cold brew because it was tart, but I would come back for another coffee. I wish things had been less claustrophobic inside, but I did visit on a rainy day, and it's not like any business gets sprawling real estate. My friend had a sausage breakfast sandwich which they recommend.

Google
My favorite coffee shop in Sacramento for sure! Definitely helps that they have the BEST breakfast sandwich I've had too! I enjoy coming here for their horchata cold brew with oat milk. I've had it so many times now, that I believe I've found the perfect fit. The horchata cold brew is already pre-made, and for my taste buds, it is a bit too sweet. My perfect combo is 3/4 of the horchata cold brew, and the rest of the 1/4 to be filled with their standard cold brew. Definitely cuts the sweetness out! Now comes the breakfast sandwich. It does take awhile for them to make it (especially if they are busy), but it is always SO good. The sandwich comes with a two-egg omelette, cheese, scallions, cholula spread, on brioche bun with your choice of protein (bacon, sausage, or veggie). I've had them both and I've them both in one! Only downside is there is limited indoor seating, and there are no outlets available. Otherwise, this is my go-to spot. Every time I'm in Sacramento, this is a MUST for the morning or a good afternoon pick me up for the drive back down to the bay. Street parking only. See you soon Camellia's!

Yelp
We got the kouign amann and the breakfast sandwich with bacon sausage and avo. Both were very yummy! I would honestly go all out next time and do veggie sandwich add bacon sausage avo and cream cheese, wild I know but I but I think it would amazing. Very cute vibes, will be back for sure! Even though the line was very long, they killed it and the line was moving fast, it was easy to find a seat and our food was out in 5 min!

Yelp
I recently visited Camelia Coffee Roasters with my little cousin, excited to grab something to drink and eat. While I've always enjoyed their sandwiches in the past, this visit was surprisingly disappointing due to the wait time. To our shock, it took nearly an hour to get a single sandwich. I understand this place is popular, but the current system for handling orders seems inefficient. Both the line and the preparation process could benefit from some serious reorganization or better employee strategies to reduce the wait times. At the 30-minute mark, I seriously considered leaving everything I paid for and heading somewhere else. However, we decided to stick it out and finally received our order after about 45 minutes. By then, the experience had already soured the meal. While I won't be returning anytime soon, I hope they address these issues because I've genuinely enjoyed their food in the past. For now, I'll wait to see if they get things back on track before giving them another chance.

Yelp
This might be the most hipster place I have ever been in and they don't have a single gluten free item on their menu. That is just diabolical. Apart from that, the coffee is literally top notch. So delicious that it almost makes up for the fact I couldn't eat breakfast. I'd still come back just for the coffee tho

Martin T.

Yelp
Tried this place after a friend recommended it and my bagel was sooo yummy!! I was very impressed by how good it was that I'm definitely going to need to go back. This place seems like a great spot for locals and it seems like many of the people I saw were clearly regulars.

Yelp
Camellia Coffee Roasters was super busy on a Sunday morning, with a long line to order. The interior had a fun wall mural, a pink tile counter, and a somewhat industrial vibe. They also had some (dog friendly) outdoor seating by the entrance. I ordered a Horchata Cold Brew and the Veggie Breakfast Sandwich with avocado. We also got a Chocolate Babka to share between the three of us. My drink and Chocolate Babka came out right away. The Horchata Cold Brew was absolutely delicious and tasted like actual horchata. Unfortunately, I could tell by its light color that it wasn't caffeinated enough. An added shot of espresso probably would've helped! The Chocolate Babka was amazing - perfect texture, delicious taste. It was also easy to pull apart, so we easily shared it. Our Breakfast Sandwiches took a long time to come out, which was understandable because they were swamped. They were totally worth the wait though! I loved the brioche bun and soft scrambled eggs. The veggies inside were spinach and mushroom, which went so well with the avocado. Overall, awesome for breakfast if you're not in a rush - would return!

Yelp
Did a pit stop here while waiting for my wife to be done with her appointment. It was on my way after having lunch. It was my first time here after passing by R Street so many times. I had a cortado and they served it in a cortado glass cup. I did ask not to put my drink in a paper cup as I was drinking in. Just the right kick of caffeine to keep me awake after a rich lunch. The warehouse building that this coffeeshop/roastery reminded me of other cafes that I've been too.

Gillian A.

Yelp
A coffee shop that's a fave to some of the Yelpers that I follow and I will say that I also have become a fan of the breakfast sandwiches here. Silky scrambled eggs in the breakfast sandwich. A little greasy but I think with a hearty egg sandwich on a brioche bun like this one, it comes with the territory. The hooked-up bagel sandwich though.....definitely one of the better lox bagels that I've had in the Sac area. Everything bagel and the scallion-dill cream cheese.....*flavor bomb!* Very tender lox too. Perfectly toasted bagel. As for coffee drinks, the hot brew is a bit on the overly bitter side and the mocha is the people-pleasing kind (very chocolate-milk-like with subtle brew taste.....not my personal preference but can see it as a no-fuss coffee option to other folks). One of the midtown coffee spots that has a better parking situation. Visited on a Saturday around 9 am. Barely beat the crowd as 30 min later there was a steady line for ordering.

Melissa G.

Yelp
Camellia's serves sandwiches until 2pm, and I arrived at 1:58pm. I wasn't sure if they'd still serve me, but staff assured me that it wasn't too late. It made my day! I ordered two horchata cold brews, a breakfast sandwich, and hooked up bagel. The bagel is my go-to, and I had a plain bagel due to the everything bagel being sold out. I was busy multitasking and noticed other professionals like myself taking business calls outside. I appreciate that there's an outdoor dining option for those of us that are on the clock! Staff delivered my food to me, and it was delicious as always. Thank you for another great experience!

Yelp
Camellia Coffee Roasters has been on my radar for a while, and I finally got to check it out after hearing so many rave reviews. Parking is mostly street or in a small lot to the side, but the spot is super convenient for those near midtown. First up: the coffee. I went for an iced decaf mocha with almond milk and extra chocolate syrup (because who doesn't want a little more chocolate?). My boyfriend and I also grabbed two breakfast sandwiches--one sausage, one bacon. The sandwiches came on buttery brioche buns, which were absolutely delicious. The bacon was a little thin, but it paired perfectly with the extra Cholula hot sauce they provided (pro tip: always say yes to the hot sauce). The vibe? Laid-back and chill. The service was friendly, though the sandwiches took a bit to come out, but nothing too crazy. Oh, and let's not forget the most genius feature: a coffee claw machine. Yes, you read that right. You can play to win a free drink or sandwich. I mean, come on--how cool is that? All in all, I'll definitely be back, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring out-of-town friends here. Great coffee, solid food, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Derek B.

Yelp
This place was great. It was PACKED. Literally door out the line. Love that they use good milk from Straus. They also have a claw machine to win free stuff which is very creative. The sandwich was good and so was the coffee. Our cashier was nice and helpful

Yelp
First of all, this place deserves the title of Best Breakfast Sandwich in Sac. Believe the hype! Second, I'm just annoyed it took me this long to stop in. Every single part of this spot is a winner. The horchata cold brew? INCREDIBLE. Almost every person who walked up to the counter (long line--worth it) asked for this. I opted for a chai latte, which was also great, but my husband got the horchata and I would have absolutely gotten back in line for one had we not needed to be somewhere after. The breakfast sandwiches were what we came for and they're what we'll come back for. Holy moly--they're everything you want and expect. For starters, they're enormous. The flavor is spot on and they've got a few different varieties you can try. I ordered one with bacon and added avocado. It was perfect! The ambience is another win. We came on a Sunday morning, which I would guess is the busiest day and time, but everyone was friendly and relaxed while they waited to order. Drinks came up very quickly, but sandwiches took a bit . Everyone was very polite in hunting for open tables. People shared chairs and tables with strangers. Lots of people working on laptops, but also lots of friends meeting up for a coffee and bite to eat. 10/10 recommend for everyone (except maybe large groups--this isn't a place that's easy to snag a large table)!

Yelp
I've been to the previous Camellia roasters location, but this was my first time coming to this location. I was searching Yelp for a lox and bagel breakfast sandwich and Camelia has one on their menu. I came on Friday morning around 10 AM and the place was packed! Now I know why they needed to move to a larger venue because it never stopped being busy the whole two hours I was there. Even though there was a line at the register to order, it moved very quickly. I ordered a cold brew and by the time they finished ringing me up, my cold brew was ready, I also ordered a breakfast sandwich and that came out in a very timely manner. The space itself is a lot of brick and exposed beams. There is indoor and outdoor seating. My cold brew was just as good as I remembered it from the previous location. My breakfast sandwich was also great. However, I made the mistake of having it on an everything bagel. Next time I'm going to get it with a plain bagel because I want to be able to taste the dill cream cheese and salmon. The everything bagel overwhelms these great ingredients. Service were excellent. As I mentioned, even though the place was busy people were getting their coffee and food in a timely manner. There were a lot of people enjoying the space and hanging out with friends.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for a morning pick me up with my friend/coworker. It was quite busy for a 9:30am stop on a Thursday, but worth the wait. Nice big open space with cute decor and even a claw machine if you want to try to win some freebies! The drinks are very fast, but the breakfast sandwiches take a little bit. I think from time of arrival to departure it was about 15 minutes. I ordered the horchata cold brew with oat milk and a sausage breakfast sandwich. Both delicious and they even gave a packet of cholula with the sandwich. The sandwich was on soft thick bread and the egg had some melted cheese in it. I would definitely come back. They also have a case of yummy looking pastries and I am not sure if they offer bigger sizes on their drinks, but would hope for that next time. Also on Friday the 13th they had it advertised as "Chai-day" where you get a free chai. Not sure about parking as we walked here from our work that is a few blocks down the road.

Kylie S.

Yelp
Very cute location on R street. VERY busy. We tried to pop in on a Sunday mid morning and the line was out the door. It took forever to order but I was looking forward to trying the coffee. As busy as this place always is, I figured it was bound to be good. It took over 10 minutes just to get inside but once there, I loved looking at the decor of the building. It's industrial looking with a lot of pops of pink and punk. The menu is really vague and basic so don't be afraid to ask questions. They have a claw machine with hot paper cups with prizes like 50% off or free Horchata. I didn't have a dollar so I couldn't try to win. I did try the Horchata cold brew and really loved it. I was able to get it with Oat Milk which was great since dairy upsets my stomach and it wasn't too sweet.

Yelp
Camellia Coffee Roasters is a beautiful coffee shop tucked away in downtown Sacramento. The interior is mostly pink but without being overly girly. The mural inside is absolutely incredible and there's just so much character when you look at all the small details. The lines here seem to be really long especially in the mornings ~9 am. Parking is mostly street parking with a 2 hour max. Luckily this is the nicer part of the surrounding downtown area so we felt pretty safe parking and walking here. Theres a few outdoor large picnic tables right outside as well as smaller tables indoor. They offer your standard fare of coffee drinks, teas, coffee beans for purchase, and even a claw machine so you could possibly score a free drink/sandwich! There is a small selection of baked pastries available as well. We ordered both the sausage breakfast sandwich and the bacon breakfast sandwich. Both were delicious but I really enjoyed the bacon one. The brioche bun is reminiscent of a croissant with its fluffiness and buttery tones. The egg with the scallions melted in with the cheese was unique since not many places add green onions to their egg mixture. The cheese was so gooey and warm. The aioli added that creamy richness to complement the savory meat. Although the wait was long, the breakfast sandwiches were worth the wait. The sandwiches were filling and worth the $11 price tag. Service was friendly and efficient. Next time I would try their coffee!

Hope M.

Yelp
I made a quick pit stop here on my way to Reno! Highly recommend if you're needing a breakfast sandwich and some caffeine! I ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage. The egg was cooked perfectly and the sausage had so much flavor! I also ordered the matcha which was ok, not the best matcha but good enough! Service was a bit slow and it wasn't that busy. If you're in a hurry, this spot probably wouldn't be ideal.

Genie O.

Yelp
Wish I could come here daily! Rich roasted coffee smell, beautiful emerald green glasses for cortados and capps, efficient crew serious about their craft and guests focused on getting work done or enjoying their friends. Not a lot of seats inside but picnic tables outside. Big warehouse space inside warmed up by patrons and wood elements. I had a cappuccino in one of those glass cups. They make them as I like - not very foamy, more wet and it was a great brew to go with my kouign amann. See you again soon I hope!

James S.

Yelp
First of all I was really wanting a good cup of coffee and that's not always found at the chain stores. So I searched yelp app for the area around me a came across Camellia Coffee Roasters. The pictures of the food sold me seeing I was hungry as well. So long story short the coffee was amazing as was the breakfast sandwich which I can say is 1000% better the expensive microwaved alternatives at the chain stores. I highly recommend checking out Camellia Coffee Roasters

E S.

Yelp
My bf and I stopped by before a day of shopping. We tried their chai tea latte's. Mine was with almond milk his was regular milk. I wasn't a big fan. A bit on the spicier side of chai and a too bitter for my liking. I'd like to go back and try their mocha. The breakfast sandwiches on the other hand were FIRE!!! We are def coming back just for those

Arianne G.

Yelp
Absolutely loved their food here! Although it's quite popular that the line can get to a point of waiting right outside. Have patience! It's worth-it, just don't expect to be able to sit down... There's not a lot of seats. Service was great! The coffee comes out quicker than food but worth the wait. Parking will be difficult since it's located downtown. Wear comfy shoes! There's lots to see there.

Casey A.

Yelp
They just opened at 7AM, three people were already waiting outside when I got there. It's 7:19 and I couldn't wait to leave this review. Coffee - Horchata Cold Brew 10/10 Food - Sausage Breakfast Sandwich 11/10 one of the best coffee shop breakfast sandwich's I've ever had Service 10/10 so kind, quick, Great stop on our trip, would be a regular if I lived here. Wish I would have taken a picture but I couldn't eat it fast enough.

Yelp
**A Gem in Sacramento's Coffee Scene!** Camellia Coffee Roasters is hands down one of the best coffee spots in Sacramento! From the moment you step in, you're greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee. The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft, ensuring that every cup is brewed to perfection. I've tried several of their offerings, from their smooth lattes to the bold single-origin pour-overs, and I'm always impressed by the quality and depth of flavor. The care they put into sourcing their beans and roasting them in-house really shines through in every sip. Whether you're looking for a cozy spot to work, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a great cup of coffee, Camellia delivers. I highly recommend stopping by - you won't be disappointed!

Larissa L.

Yelp
I love how they offer 10oz, and their specials aren't over priced! Coffee it self was pretty good. Different seating options offered.... High table, regular, outdoor. The music was loud and it was chilly... maybe it was just where we sat but I couldn't hear the person sitting across from me because of the music. Plenty of street parking around, mostly for 2 hour parking. It didn't really match my personal coffee shop chatting or study preferences... not sure if I'll be back but cute place to check out :)

Patricia R.

Yelp
8 am Sunday morning there was a lot of parking available in the area and no wait or big rush inside. Horchata Cold Brew with Oat Milk (3.5/5): coffee was good and not overly sweet. I tasted more cinnamon than horchata Breakfast sandwich (5/5): From the bread, the sauce, the egg, and cheese it was delicious and a good balance. Definitely the star of the show on our visit here. The service was quick. Coffee made upon order and sandwiches were made within 10 minutes. Ambiance is cute with the pink, white, and plants interior theme.

Donovan M.

Yelp
Camellia Coffee Roasters has always served up a masterclass when it comes to coffee and some tasty delights to pair with your drink. Their breakfast sandwich sits atop with the elite breakfast sandwiches in town. My go to is their horchata cold brew and a breakfast Sammy. Their location on Rst fits so well with the area. It's very warm and welcoming inside with all the feels of a craft coffee spot. I'm always greeted by a friendly face and although times can get busy, there's a good flow going and you're never waiting too long. I appreciate the food, coffee and service at Camellia and always excited for my next trip here

Mike L.

Yelp
When I came across Camellia on Yelp, there was little doubt that I was going to head straight here. Firstly, all of their awesome reviews and the photos of their breakfast sandwich were too good to resist. Secondly, they were the closest place to me that was open at 7:30am on a Sunday. However, if you had simply told me that they have a crane game here where you can possibly win free food and coffee, I would have come here simply for that! What can I say? I'm just a grown man who's just a big kid at heart (that likes to gamble for food, apparently...). Now, while I didn't have any expectations for what Camellia looked like, I've got to admit it's far bigger than I thought it would've been. Even after setting aside space for their coffee roasting equipment, they've still got plenty of seating inside, in addition to the handful of tables outside. More importantly, the menu here is solid, albeit modest. Their half dozen or so varieties of coffees, cold brews, teas, and "non-coffees" may be fairly standard (save for their horchata cold brew), but their breakfast bagels (from Boichik!) and sandwiches all look and sound so good! Since I had the hankering for something meaty, I (reluctantly) decided to skip their Hooked-Up Bagel (Bagel with Scallion-Dill Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon) in favor of the SAUSAGE BREAKFAST SANDWICH ($10.25) and added Avocado (+$2.25). Made up of a two-egg omelet with Cheese, Scallions, and Cholula Aioli (along with the avocado) on a Brioche Bun, this was one hefty and delicious sandwich! The eggs were soft and slightly gooey thanks to the cheese, the sausage was super juicy, there was a good amount of avocado, and they sure didn't skimp on the scallions! The one thing I wasn't as big of a fan of was their brioche bun, which tasted great and was nicely toasted, but tons of flakes/crumbs fell off with every bite I took (you've been warned!). To drink, the COLD BREW ($4.50) was solid - moderately strong, flavorful, and not the least bit bitter. Given how hot the weather ended up getting when I was here, this ended up being rather refreshing too as the ice melted. That said, I'm curious as to how the Horchata Cold Brew tasted, as I've seen several folks mention it in their reviews, but I was perfectly happy with this, especially considering how it was the prize that I won on my very first try from their crane game (apparently, I'm also quite good at gambling for food). Thanks to my coming here so early in the morning, I was here well before any of the seemingly typical weekend crowds showed up. However, even if I did, Camellia's sandwich (and the chance to win more freebies from their crane game) would still make it all worthwhile. In fact, even if I didn't win anything again, I'd still be happy to come back to try the Horchata Cold Brew and their Hooked-Up Bagel! FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded up.

Yelp
There's usually always a line & wait to order. It doesn't move that quick so be prepared to wait a bit. Despite the slow service, it's still worth it. When I'm craving a really good breakfast sandwich, this is my go-to spot for one even though it's a bit pricey. The brioche bun is so soft & the cholua aioli makes the sandwich even tastier. The cold brew is strong, yet very smooth & great flavor. I usually get a splash of horchata cold brew to add a bit of sweetness.

Mansi S.

Yelp
I knew I had to try this coffee shop when I saw the horchata cold brew on the menu. It was very busy on a Sunday morning but the line moved quickly. The iced horchata is pre-mixed with either an oat milk or 2% milk option. With my first sip I was in heaven! It is a tad sweet but nothing overpowering. We also got some bagels with the chive cream cheese. They sold out of the everything bagels by the time we ordered (10am). Three bagel was good. The dill in the cream cheese was different but it worked. There's a handful of tables inside but it was very packed and busy. There's also some outdoor seating and it appears to be dog friendly!

Josiah H.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I decided to try to new coffee shop this weekend after Jiu Jitsu open mat. She'd heard good things about this place and apparently they had good breakfast sandwiches as well. And both of us were hungry after class. When we pulled up we saw the line all the way outside, and I almost decided to go home. Once we parked the line however was inside so we checked the ace out. We maybe waited in line about 15-20 minutes total, and eventually ordered two Cappuccinos which came with brown sugar and Agave syrup. As well as two bacon breakfast sandwiches, that had two whole eggs and Cholula + Aioli sauce. We got the Cappuccinos first which were good, and the sandwiches took a little while. But it was pretty busy and the sandwiches were fresh, so that makes sense. Overall: Good coffee and great sandwiches. Would definitely come back.

Amber T.

Yelp
If you like your coffee really hot, order it extra hot. I find that the lattes lean more lukewarm otherwise. This is definitely one of my favorite shops in Sacramento! The flavor of the coffee is more balanced and smooth in comparison to Temple or Scorpio coffee, for example. Parking is street parking and easy to find. Just keep in mind most spots are 1 or 2 hours only. The line can get long for the breakfast sandwiches and they sell out of the bagels pretty fast too. I haven't had the sandwich yet, but all of my friends rave about it. The price might seem steep, but it's extremely filling. I also really enjoy their vegan chocolate muffin! There's a good amount of seating and despite it being a busy shop, the turnover is pretty steady so spots free up quickly.

Africa G.

Yelp
The definition of immaculate vibes! Trendy decor and art make it such a satisfying ambience. Great for pictures and feeling like you're having a main character movie moment lol. I ordered the Horchata Cold Brew with Oat Milk and it was pretty much flawless. Very cinnamony. As well as the bacon breakfast sandwich with avocado. It sucked that the avocado was an extra $2.50 for a sandwich that was already $10 but it was really tasty and fresh. The bun was impressively fluffy and soft. They provide one hot sauce packet with the order, but it wasn't nearly enough for me to finish the sandwich with (big hot sauce lover). Seating was easy to come by! It wasn't too crowded around the time that I went and there was outdoor seating available too. I opted to sit indoors. The music/environment is on the louder, more distracting side, so definitely be aware of that if you are coming to sit and get work done. Also, not very many outlets at all so make sure your devices are charged up. Another thing is, the wifi is locked so you'll have to ask for the password. When I asked a staff member, the password wasn't unlocking the wifi, so I just gave up and used my hotspot. I didn't see any signage for the wifi login but I also didn't look very hard. Although, another visitor came up to me asking if I knew the login and expressed that they were having a hard time finding it too. As far as parking, I didn't have too much of an issue. There's regular parking spots along 12th street for those who have a hard time parallel parking. Those were full when I arrived around 11am on a Friday. So I opted for street parking on 11th and didn't have to pay meter. Finding parking was pretty quick and overall easy. So, I wouldn't let it steer you away from visiting!

Yelp
Super yummy food great customer service. Found this spot while looking for a quick bite. The place is packed but moves quickly.

Yelp
The bacon breakfast sandwich was so good!!! It might actually be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, and the shop is really cute too. I also had a latte which was pretty good but nothing noteworthy lol. But I will definitely be back :). The wait after ordering was pretty long (I think about 20-30 minutes) so I would only come here if you have a lot of free time, but the food is REALLY good and I would definitely recommend! There's a decent amount of (street) parking nearby too

Yelp
The horchata latte and the smoked salmon bagel are phenomenal. I could eat and drink this at least once a week but I can't afford it. Whenever I get Camellia's during the work week it just makes me feel like I'm so complete and ready to work.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich. We ended up not getting the sandwiches since there was a family festival with food stands. This place is off R street with outdoor and indoor seating. It feels like a trendy spot and definitely is popular with a line as soon as you open the door. The staff is very quick with getting your order out and friendly in answering any questions. The coffee was good and they offer milk alternative like oat, almond, soy. The drinks come in 10oz or 16oz. Flavorings are exclusive to: house made vanilla blend, honey, and a seasonal syrup. Today's syrup was lavender. The coffee was good with a strong taste but balanced well with the milk and add ins.

Yelp
Understaffed with extremely long wait times but the food is high quality. The verde breakfast sandwich was especially good! I tried the horchata cold brew and it was pretty good, but not worth the wait.

Yelp
So glad we stopped in here during our staycation! Fresh breakfast sandwich made to order and quite a quick turnaround despite the long lines on weekends. Love that they make their own seeasonal syrups and use straus milk for their lattes.

Yelp
The line for Camellia was out the door on a Saturday morning. I patiently waited to order my coffee and my breakfast sandwich. All the tables were occupied so I had my coffee and sandwich in my vehicle. The Cortado was too acidic and bitter for my liking. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. I love the brioche bun, soft and silky eggs. I will visit again to try their other coffees while enjoying the breakfast sandwich.

Yelp
Sandwiches are still amazing. Coffee is excellent. I tried the bacon and sausage sandwich and it's clear they make everything fresh. Service was quick despite the long lines. They only serve the breakfast sandwiches until 1, so recommend coming early.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this spot and it did not disappoint! We got there about 9:15 on a Saturday and there was a line out the door. There was one person on the register and two baristas. The line took quite a while, but the order came up quicker than I thought based on the line. Coffee was really good and pretty strong. Mocha had a really good creamy chocolate to it without being overly sweet. Latte still had a strong coffee taste and wasn't overdone with steamed milk. We got coffee beans to go for home and have made a few cups already. Really good!! Breakfast sandwiches came out piping hot. The sausage had really good flavor. Egg has more pepper than I would normally add but still good. Bacon was nice and thick. Brioche bun was flakey and soft. Mild chalula aioli inside. Definitely wasn't spicy but they give you some chalula packets so you can spice it up. If you're eating there just note they don't have any high chairs for babies/ toddlers.

Yelp
Camellia is by far my favorite coffee roaster! They are also in my top two favorite Sacramento coffee shops. I should preface this by saying I am not a huge coffee drinker. Typically coffee is too bitter for me and the amount of sugary syrups needed to balance it ends up being too much for me. In my expeditions of Sacramento coffee shops, I've learned there are many different qualities of coffee (i.e. kinds of beans) and methods of brewing that allow you to create a lot of variety in flavor. In this exploration, I'm discovering a love of coffee I never knew I had! TL;DR: Camellia has some of the best coffee I've had. Their Ethereal blend is so good! They use it for their espresso for their milk drinks. I like getting their latte and it goes so well with the Cozy spice syrup, which they usually offer in the wintertime or when it starts to cool down! It is one of my current favorite coffee drinks. I get the larger size and the balance is great. I don't get any bitterness at all. I also love their breakfast sandwiches! I highly recommend getting those. LOCATION/PARKING: They are located on the corner of 12th and R street in a lovely brick building, by Bottle and Barlow. The parking is mostly street parking, but there is a row of spots around the corner, on 12th street, that we park at if all the spots in front of the shop (on R St.) are taken. Parking is pretty tricky so we do like to go during less busy times to make things easier. ATMOSPHERE: They have a lovely open space, with a good amount of seating inside and outside that definitely fill up often. The decor is modern with a lot of pink tones and a cool vibrant mural that catches your eye when you walk in. SERVICE: Their staff are always super friendly and go above and beyond! They are always helpful in answering my questions and make some delicious coffee drinks to boot! FOOD: Their Sausage Breakfast Sandwich is so delicious! I recently learned you can add veggies to it, which means they add spinach and mushrooms into the fluffy folded egg. The cholula aioli gives it a nice creamy little kick and the brioche bread is also super fluffy! It is the perfect pairing to their coffee! DRINKS: I cannot rave enough about their Ethereal blend. It's hard for me not to get the Cozy Spice Latte but I have tried the Horchata Cold Brew as well. I found it to be very delicious but a touch too sweet for me so I actually can't finish the drink. I wonder if it's possible to ask for it less sweet. PRICE: I think their prices are pretty much in line with other coffee shops. I believe their 12oz bags of beans are $18. The drinks range from about $3-$6.75. Their food items range from about $4-$10.25, with their breakfast sandwiches starting at $10.25. I always like to add sausage to mine so that's another $1.50.

Yelp
Camellia Coffee Roasters is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts. Their roastery on-site emphasizes their dedication to quality. House-made, seasonal syrups add unique flavors to their lattes, which are remarkably balanced and flavorful. The veggie breakfast sandwich is exceptional, and their limited menu ensures a focus on excellence. I visited this gem three times during my three-day trip to Sacramento...which should tell you all that you need to know.

Yelp
I stopped by for the first time since they moved into their own space and it's so cool to see another local coffee roaster doing so well. In my eagerness, when I walked up I ended up going up to and yanking on the wrong set of doors and almost thought they were closed. Don't be like me, the doors closest to 12th street are locked but if you go to the next set of doors you're all set. I walked in and immediately got distracted by the mural on the wall, very cool! They have a queue that you can jump in on the right, but I ended up walking right up during my visit. I asked for recommendations and ended up with a delicious latte made with their seasonal Cozy Spice syrup. They have some seating inside and outside and if you're hungry their food is always tasty. I've been trying to order new things, but the horchata cold brew is my favorite item on the menu.

Yelp
Arrived a little after 10 am on a Saturday morning and it was a full house already. However, the line moved fairly quick. Service was quick as well. We loved the ambiance of the place. Busy but calm. Most customers just come and go, so we didn't have to really wait for seating. They have outside tables but it was a rainy morning and it was wet. I went for the horchata cold brew per popular suggestion. However, I'm a strong coffee drinker, so the horchata cold brew wasn't the drink for me. I would say it's tasty, tad bit sweet, but there's not much of a coffee taste to it. The Cortado was pretty basic, not strong like most we've had. The matcha tea with milk was good and smooth, but it was just matcha and milk. No other flavor. Unsure if they have options for sweeteners. Wasn't offered but we didn't ask. Their sandwiches are scrumptious! We gotten one with bacon and one with sausage. The aioli sauce is so good inside. Brioche bread was buttery and fluffy. Avocado bagel was loaded with avocado. Everything was fresh! I'll stop by again for a mid day picker upper when I'm in the area or want a spot to to catch up with friends. I'll have to try their other coffee options.

Yelp
Please come here to try the breakfast sandwich because they are that good! My first time trying Camellia was 2 weeks ago and I have been back 2 times already! This is the perfect place to get together with friends because they have both indoor and outdoor seating! There is also plenty of parking always. Beware that there is generally a line out the door so be prepared to wait (but it is absolutely worth it)! Food-wise, I highly recommend getting either their Horchata latte or the Brown Sugar Latte. I also recommend getting a breakfast sandwich there - it is served on a warm brioche bun. Also, the way that they make the sandwich is just perfect because you bite into a warm and gooey cheese center surrounded by egg.

Yelp
We come here specifically for their bacon breakfast sandwich, and horchata cold brew cus it's my boyfriend's favorite lol. This place is consistently busy, especially if you're ordering food, so wait times may be pretty lengthy, but there is some seating area inside and a bunch outside. On this visit we ordered their bacon breakfast sandwich, and I got an iced matcha latte. Their bacon breakfast sandwich is unmatched. That will always be a 10/10 for me lol. However, their matcha latte was a little lacking in matcha flavor for me. I could go for at least double the amount of matcha they use, which is how I plan on ordering it next time lol.

Yelp
Camellia Coffee Roasters is so cute! We heard about their breakfast sandwiches from a friend so we had to come try it out for ourselves. I got the bacon breakfast sandwich and a hot oat milk latte with their brown sugar syrup. My friends got the sausage breakfast sandwich and horchata cold brew! Seating: super cute! The interior is spacious. I would come study here by myself or with a friend. There are plenty of 2 seater tables and 1 or 2 bigger tables. There is also plenty of outdoor seating available. Coffee: the horchata cold brew was way too sweet for my liking (not sure if it's adjustable). The latte was ok, it did not impress me. I think there is better coffee in midtown Sacramento. They have 1-2 seasonal syrups along with agave, honey, and their brown sugar house syrup. I like that there is a small and large cup size unlike other cafes with only 1 size option. Parking: I was able to find parking easily on a Monday afternoon. There is 90 minute free parking available in the lot and street in front. Might be harder on a weekend. Service: the employees are so kind and friendly. There was a line when we came but food and drinks came out quick. Food: the best part! Great presentation, large portions and filled me up. I would come again just for the breakfast sandwiches! Overall, I would definitely come back for the ambiance and food, 4/5 stars.

Yelp
Quaint coffee shop with solid breakfast sandwich and bagels! The shop itself is clean and aesthetic, with lots of 2-person tables, which makes it great for a hangout with friends. I was super excited that they serve Boichik Bagels (they were voted best bagels in the U.S.), which is based in Berkeley. The breakfast sandwich was awesome! The oat milk latte was not amazing, so I would probably come here for a casual breakfast over coffee.

Yelp
Visited here for the first time with my sister, I read the reviews about the horchata cold brew so I ordered it! I give it a 9/10. The drink itself was really smooth, definitely tastes like horchata, you can barely taste any coffee which I didn't mind too much. Cold brew tends to be lighter. The line was short when I got there, good amount of seating but was almost all taken. Service was so quick, I barely finished ordering and not a second later the drink was already made. Great place to have a morning coffee, interior is so cute too! Lots of street parking fyi.
