This is by far the best tea room I have ever visited and I have been to many. The hotel is gorgeous and the tea room, while small, is beautifully decorated. We made a reservation for five people several months in advance as we were visiting the area on vacation. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and explained all the teas and foods served. You can try as many tea flavors as you want. The Mad Hatter and Relaxing teas were my favorites. The tea sandwiches had a great variety and were also tasty. The pimento and roast beef was especially good. All the desserts were excellent, but the raspberry tart and chocolate cake really stood out. The décor is gorgeous shades of pink and the overhead chandelier is magnificent. While afternoon tea is expensive, the food, service, ambiance and entire experience is worth it. The dress code is "elegant." There are several parking garages within walking distance, or the hotel offers valet service. If you are in Charleston, this is a must!

I felt like a princess here! The staff was attentive and cheerful. The room is gorgeous with lush pink velvet, metallic wallpaper, and a grand crystal chandelier. You're allowed as many or as few teas as you'd like to try during your reservation. My only flaw was that the savory foods were blah. A couple bites of dry sandwich with little flavor. The sweet treats were good besides the pistachio frosting. I recommend the pink biodiversity tea if you like a caffeine-free, berry option. Overall a cute experience but slightly overpriced for the quality of food served.

Google
Beautiful atmosphere and staff was wonderful! Tea selection was really good, wish there was some more descriptions on some of the teas to know what you were getting. The ginger yuzu smelled like a sweaty sock and didn’t taste like much. Loved the Pink tea the best!

Google
This has been on my list of places to visit and I am so glad that I made a reservation. My husband and I enjoyed the different teas. We also loved the tea sandwiches and desserts. This is definitely a cute place to go on a date.

Google
This is a cute spot for a drink with the girls, and cute instagram photo, or to kick off a bachelorette party. Although it is tucked inside the left side of the lobby of the Hotel Bennett, the decor is very different from rest of the hotel. It is still luxurious, but it is very pink, from the velvet chairs to the ceiling that is adorned with a glamorous crystal chandelier. We order the rosé champagne flight with three different champagnes. The pours. were generous, but it is not a cheap order (close to $175) for three glasses of champagne. We anticipated that going in, but be aware, if you are someone that doesn't appreciate champagne.

Google
Loved the late afternoon tea at Camillas - it was one of the last stops on the long girl's weekend trip. The atmosphere was so special, the decor just smashingly beautiful, and the food (tea cakes, sandwiches, tea) and the champagne was superb. We booked the Crown Tea and had pink champagne!

Valerie Gaskins

Google
Such a gorgeous atmosphere! We had the best champagne 🥂 girl time! Missy, our bar tender was delightful 👌🏻🌟Memories made and beautiful pictures to prove it 💞🌸💐

Google
Awesome experience. This was on my wife's list during our anniversary trip. I wasn't going to say no. She said would easily come back again, without hesitation. Every moment brought a smile to her face. 10/10 - will recommend. It is expensive though, but I still think it is worth the experience. I'd go again myself. For the guys: Tea was good, add sugar and cream if not, repeat until you enjoy it. Bite sized food (hors d'oeuvres) arrives shortly after tea, it's actually pretty good. Use the tiny fork to eat it slowly. When food is done, you can try different tea. Do this, it let's your partner try something else as well. After 2nd tea comes 3 tiered plate of mini deserts. We took turns picking out which desert to eat next together. Also, I was the only guy at the time we were there. It was fine. You'll be ok. Have fun

Yelp
I came here for their afternoon tea experience and it was an experience indeed. Everything was paced out wonderfully to be able to enjoy the full 2 hours. Our service from Stephen was impeccable. They took great care in honoring any dietary restrictions, and had a multiple non-alcoholic options in addition to tea. The small bar area was beautiful designed with great spots for photo ops. The savory treats were better tasting than the sweet treats in my opinion, but I really enjoyed the overall experience.
google avatar

Julie R.

Yelp
My friends and I reserved the tea experience ahead of time and were very excited to sit, relax, and enjoy. The restaurant is adorable and you will want to dress up. The restaurant opens and all groups are seated at the same time. This creates a slower service, but we weren't in any rush. The servers come around and explain the process and bring out each course. Stephen was amazing and walked us through everything. We tried several different teas before our savory course was brought out. This was the miss for me. There was a good variety of sandwiches/bites, but we didn't like many of them. Everything was very bread and mayo based and I do not like mayo. I would have maybe enjoyed some crackers or meats/cheeses instead. The dessert course was phenomenal. We ate every last bite! Overall a cool experience, but I was still hungry at the end.

Yelp
Who doesn't want dessert/alcoholic dessert drinks while vacationing? My husband and I stopped in for lunch one day and decided to split the s'mores cheesecake, while I also ordered a lemon crush drink. Both were very delicious and we really enjoyed them. It was very difficult to make our final decision since many things on the menu sounded incredibly amazing. They have sandwiches and pizza as well if you are in the mood for something savory (they looked good!) You order at the register/counter and there is a decent amount of seating around the restaurant and at the bar(but it does get crowded quickly). There are cups for water in the back of the restaurant.

Yelp
Magical Afternoon Tea at Camellias My mom and I had the most wonderful high tea experience at Camellias inside Hotel Bennett. From the moment we walked in, the stunning pink decor set the tone for a truly special afternoon. We enjoyed the Madhatter and Chai teas -- both delicious and full of flavor. I treated myself to the rosé flight, and my mom sipped on a non-alcoholic rosé that she absolutely loved. The tea service was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced with sweet and savory treats. What made the day even more memorable was the thoughtful birthday surprise -- a lovely dessert with a candle that made me feel truly celebrated. It was such a sweet touch! Huge thanks to Kayla and Stephen, our wonderful servers, for their warm hospitality and attentive service. They went above and beyond to make the afternoon unforgettable. If you're in Charleston, Camellias is an absolute must for a charming and elegant tea experience -- especially if you're celebrating something special!

Yelp
The atmosphere was so cute and picture-worthy. Such a cute spot for special occasion celebrations or just a Sunday funday with friends over tea! The staff were so friendly and gave such amazing recommendations on the tea selections. -Very appreciated. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
I loved Camellia's! Such a truly beautiful place to do afternoon tea. I couldn't stop looking around at all the gorgeous wallpaper, chandelier, and general decor of the place. Love that they have plenty of great tea options to chose from and you can get a glass of bubbly as well. The scones were a surprise favorite for me, I couldn't get enough of the clotted cream. Also always enjoy the finger sandwiches and all the sweet treats. I was definitely so full at the end, I had to take some of the desserts to go. The service was lovely and they definitely have the system down. There was a mix of couples, friends, and families with young kids participating in the tea. My son would be a menace here, but if you have a well behaved calm child, children are definitely welcome here.

Yelp
Absolutely loved high tea at Camellias. Our server was Tyler and he was absolutely fantastic. Wonderful selection of teas and bubbles to enjoy. It's an absolutely gorgeous environment, and I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
SUCH a cute spot for a drink! Super bougie and definitely an Instagram worthy spot. Waitstaff are all super sweet and accommodating!

Yelp
The experience is sweet as are the treats. Came here as a treat from my family for a high tea experience. The ambiance was nice and a feeling of being pampered at a luxury spa except that it's a food experience. Everyone got their own pot of tea from an extensive menu to choose from. Depending on the choice of tea, it needed to be steeped for anywhere from one to three minutes and you flip over a mini hour glass that had 3 with different amounts of sand that helped to let you know that times up and you can begin pouring the tea into your tea cups to be enjoyed. Two courses of food. First ones are savory and the second is sweet. Food served on three tiered plates. The savory course consisted of 5 sandwiches/pastries. Deviled eggs, salmon cucumbers, and three other canapés. The sweet collections were scones with cream and jam, and pistachio cream on top of a mini cake, madeleine, macaroons, chocolate mousse and truffles.

Yelp
We had a little time to kill before dinner so we stopped into Camellias for a cocktail. The drinks are pricey but the decor is super cool and it's the perfect place for a girls night. I forget the name of the drink my friend had but it was as beautiful as it was delicious. When I ordered, I clarified that they had both the Angel's Envy and the rye version which our server confirmed, I ordered an Angel's Envy rye, but I got the regular. I'm sure I could have switched it out, but we only had 30 minutes from sitting down to get drinks, drink them, pay our tab, and be on out way, so I kept quiet about it. Otherwise, the service was great and we enjoyed out quick visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to be blown away by this place, James Beard nomination at all..... I thought it was very very good but it didn't wow me. Pastries we tried were light airy, had delicate layers and were lovely but just lacked a little flavor in my opinion. Maybe it's because of my recent trip to Italy or maybe I just didn't order the right things. Anyway, a really solid choice for a beautiful bite. It is counter service and very busy so get there early to have the best selection and to get a seat. I will be back to try more items! The concierge at the hotel Bennett said the blueberry muffin was a MUST try but we never got up early enough to snag one!
google avatar

Yelp
Came with a few friends to have a cute afternoon tea moment. We were the first seating of the day. The space is inside the Bennett hotel which is gorgeous and full of photo ops. The tea space itself is every pink girlie's dream. The first wave of savory food took quite a long while to come out, which was tough since I was so hungry. But the 2nd sweets course came out soon afterwards. I don't think I would return but I'd definitely recommend to anyone who loves afternoon tea.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Dubbed the most instagramable space, they aren't kidding! The space is absolutely breath taking! The decor is likened to a Faberge Egg. The space itself is small with cozy seating throughout. We stopped in for a glass of champagne before dinner nearby, they don't take reservations for standard service but we were early enough that there was no wait. They have an extensive champagne list by the glass ($16-70) or by the bottle. They also serve the most beautiful desserts, we opted for the Carmellia's cake, so light and flavorful! Looking forward to trying the tea service next month!

Yelp
Arrived here right before 5 so we waited for the doors to open and then picked a seat. We seat to the far left to enjoy the view in some nice leather chairs. The plan was to have a drink before we went to dinner, but we enjoyed the vibe and weren't super hungry so we ended up staying a while. We enjoyed cocktails and then got the meat and cheese board and i enjoyed the truffle. Service was excellent. Made recommendations and even helped us get some good photos before the place got too crowded. Great girls night spot!
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Every single staff member was so sweet and accommodating. There were 5 ladies and a baby at our table, none of the ladies really drink tea, but really wanted to get the experience! The staff was friendly and helpful and brought us out many different pots of tea and we had so much fun trying them! The bites were not only beautiful but delicious! A cute bougie tea party with such a cute exclusive ambiance
google avatar

Kat M.

Yelp
No no no 15 got a bachelorette party and out of charcuterie boards ? Poor and Slow service overpriced
google avatar

Janelle P.

Yelp
The most quant, little drinking room. Before dinner we stopped into this lavish, pink, girly place for some drinks! I ordered a sparkling Rose and it was delicious. Others from my group ordered white wine and a specialty drink from the menu. Drinks can range up to $22 each, so it was pricey compared to other places in SC. Either orders everyone was pleased! We spent a lot of time talking, making fun videos, and taking pictures as the place is so beautiful. I LOVED the vibe there were only a few other groups than us so it was quant and quiet on a Monday night. *Tip it is INSIDE the hotel to the left of the front check-in desk.
google avatar

Astrid S.

Yelp
We had high tea service here for the end of a bachelorette trip. It is such a beautiful space and the level of detail down to each cup, plate, and teapot are just beautiful. The sandwiches and sweet treats were tasty along with the teas we chose - mad hatter and chai. Would definitely recommend going with your girls!

Yelp
Beware of hidden prices!!!! I recently had tea here with girlfriends and was enjoying the experience and cute atmosphere until we received our bill...at the start of the experience, the waitress directed us to the page with champagne options to add on but also stated that they do flights of champagne as an option (these were not listed on the menu). We all agreed to do a rose champagne flight. We were not informed of the cost and were SHOCKED to see that each flight (3 tasting pours) was ***$150 EACH*** INSANE!!!!! we were not informed of this exorbitant cost compared to the other glasses offered on the menu prior to ordering and felt frankly conned by the waitress as she suggested the flight and never thought to let us know how expensive it was. For reference, we could have bought 2 full bottles of very nice champagne there instead of how much 3 people spent on these small tastings. When we informed the waitress of our shock, she was not able to do anything to help us. We escalated to a manager who finally agreed to comp one of the three tastings, but I feel this was not enough given that we were not informed ahead of time of the extra expense. It ruined our day.

Yelp
If you haven't been here yet please place it on your list! Hello Yelpers!!! OMG this place is so beautiful. Our service from the moment we walked in to when my friends and I left was beautiful and I will never forget. We flew down to SC for a friends birthday and this was one of the spots on our list. Our waiter started us off with champagne and then tea. Then the menu came out. This place is for the big dawgs who like to enjoy, spend and who roll big loll. Yea it's definitely not cheap!!! I highly recommend. Enjoy the pics!!!

Yelp
Absolutely lovely experience for a Saturday tea; the wait staff was so friendly and pleasant, and the atmosphere was relaxing and not stuffy at all. The tea menu was extensive, both choices we made were strong and enjoyable - the Golden Tippy and the Darjeeling black teas. The assortment of sweet and savory finger foods was also lavish and very good! Loved the macarons, the blueberry tart, the chicken salad croissants, and the madelines. This was a super fun date with my husband, we loved it.

Yelp
Camellias provides a stunning backdrop to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance is truly something special. I visited with one other person for an 11:30 afternoon tea seating on a Thursday. I notified the restaurant in advanced that we are both vegetarian, and they confirmed ahead of time they would be able to accommodate us. The savory tray included one per person of each of the following: pimento cheese bites, olive tapenade tarts, broccoli and cucumber sandwiches, deviled egg halves, and cucumber hummus bites. The sweet tray included one per person of each of the following: cranberry orange scones with lemon curd and clotted cream, madeleines, key lime macarons, lavender honey truffles, chocolate mousse cake, and pistachio raspberry tarts. Everything was delicious, but portions were small as everything was just 1-2 bites max. Service was very friendly but our server didn't know what two of the items were (no big deal for us, but could have been an issue for someone with allergies). We enjoyed the pink berry tea, as well, as it really fit the vibe. Overall we felt it was worth the price and left very happy with the experience.

Amber L.

Yelp
Stephen is a sweetheart! Great service and the look of the place is so cute and beautiful. The drinks were great too!

Yelp
5 out of 5 stars. For food, service, ambiance, and the many accommodations for a vegan diet. Pretty & Pink atmosphere. We enjoyed champagne, right when we walked in followed by a hot tea. We had great service, our waitress was very friendly and accommodating to allergies and preferences. We were served a 3 tier tray of goodies! They were all so tasty. Perfect excuse to dress up, take cute pictures and have fun. Reminder that this is mainly about the experience of it all together!
google avatar

Leah N.

Yelp
My daughter and I had an amazing afternoon tea experience here. We had the Pink tea and the mad hatter as well as champagne. The savories, scones, and sweets were amazing. The space is gorgeous and the service was impeccable. Be aware that there's low knee clearance on the tables, other than that, everything here is absolute perfection! www.serenitynowtravel.info
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Savory foods were tiny and not good, but decor was nice. Restaurant is on the small side too.
google avatar

Regina G.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I adored this place! LOVED! It was so cute, the service was fun, the champagne was delicious and our French fries so very yummy! It was the perfect place to celebrate my friends engagement for a drink and appetizer before dinner. I didn't love the vinegar with the oysters but the oysters were HUGE and super yummy. I would've love some horseradish or cocktail sauce on the side. Look forward to coming back!
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
Camellias is a fancy champagne lovers haven! Decked out in pink and a classy chandelier, you'll feel like a princess as you create your own special tea party with your friends. It's a perfect place to celebrate a bride-to-be or birthday queen as they have pristine service, too! For food, they have every gal's dream pair: fries and desserts. They probably have more but my party was very enamored by these options. (: The only unfortunate thing about Camellias is that they do not take reservations! So for big parties or family travels that are trying to fit lots into an itinerary it can be difficult to plan a visit here.
google avatar

Yelp
I am a huge tea person . I make a point when traveling domestically or abroad to find a place that offers high tea. Camellias is located inside the historic and absolutely elegant and gorgeous Bennett Hotel . I had the "pink" tea . yes it was .. PINK and delicious . The service came with two courses . I was so full i had to take my sweets to go . Known as the most Instagramable place in Charleston . It's truly Pretty . Great for any celebration . Reservations are a MUST .

Yelp
From the moment I first saw photos of Camellias I was OBSESSED. I mean, who doesn't love a pink aesthetic with a giant chandelier while you're enjoying a cocktail or two? Definitely not this girl. :) With my birthday approaching, I knew I wanted somewhere special to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and Camellias was the spot for it. From the moment I walked in I fell in love with the small, intimate champagne bar inside the new-ish Hotel Bennett on King Street. Despite being pretty busy, my friends and I managed to snag a small table and it didn't take long before we were promptly greeted by staff who took our drink orders. The service was fabulous, the bubbles crisp and refreshing, and the atmosphere the best. If you're looking for a special night out - or you just love bubbles and the color pink - come and enjoy a Camellias' experience for yourself. (I also saw while we were there that they offer High Tea on the weekends and the next time I'm in town will 100% be doing that)
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
This gorgeous little bar is a hidden gem, tucked away in the back of the Hotel Bennet. The ambiance is lovely and super feminine. Everything is pink and spelling with sumptuous furniture, metallic wallpaper, cozy little nooks, and a breathtaking crystal chandelier to top it all off. The bartender was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. She recommended the tickled pink which is a play on a strawberry margarita. I have had many cocktails in my day, but this is by far the best one! It was perfectly balanced, a little tart, not too sweet. We also got the truffle fries which were divine. They came with a perfect lemon aioli which I could have eaten with a spoon. They also have a tea service which I will be booking next time I am in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Super beautiful spot with champagne. Wear a cute outfit and hang prior to dinner- it's the perfect spot
google avatar

Allison N.

Yelp
Had the absolute best birthday tea here! My husband made a reservation for us about two weeks in advance and it was honestly a major highlight of our trip. The tea starts with a champagne/rose service and then you select a special tea from a very long list of teas. I had the biodiversity tea, which was a fantastic option and had a lovely fruity flavor without being too sweet. You are served a savory course and then a sweet course. It's tea time, after all, so not a lot of food, but all of it was tasty. I really liked the chicken salad croissant sandwich. Service was friendly and quick and the decor here is to die for. Would absolutely love to come back.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Very interesting ambiance here. I feel like it's way overrated. The drinks we got were okay, nothing amazing for the price. The cheeseboard was good but also not worth the price. Service was quick and friendly. The space is also way smaller than it appears online and in reviews. I think it's worth it to go one time to check it out, but I don't think it's something you need to do twice.
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Camellias at The Bennet Hotel is a treasure located in the heart of Downtown Charleston. We had such a wonderful Galentine's event here and this was the perfect location to facilitate such an occasion. The ambiance was amazing and provided that warm, loving, and positive feeling you want on a day dedicated to expressing your feelings for those you're close to. The food and drinks were a perfect pairing to the amazing company I had. We all felt so welcome and special during our time and I can't wait to visit again!
google avatar

April H.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come to Camellias since I moved to the south last year. Reservations are easy to make online but make sure you plan ahead because this tea room is very popular and books up in advance. The room is absolutely gorgeous, the chandelier is to die for. The pink color and decor are totally my style but the lighting isn't the best for pictures sadly. The tea was good as well as the service. The food wasn't the best I've had at afternoon tea but it was still good. Overall a nice experience.
google avatar

Meg C.

Yelp
Super cute I've been dying to come have a drink here. Inside Hotel Bennett this bar has some small snacks, but a great wine and cocktail selection. It's cozy, cute and very pink. They also have tea service which I'm dying to go to!!
google avatar

Chelsea J.

Yelp
This is the perfect start to a night out with the girls. We shared a bottle of bubbles and an order of French fries lol. The decor is absolutely stunning and service was impeccable. Highly recommend and I'll def be back next time I'm in Charleston
google avatar

Kalila W.

Yelp
Cute spot for drinks. Bartender was efficient but the place wasn't crowded when i was there. My sparkling wine was delicious.. apparently she misheard my order and charged me (and poured me) some glass that was like $65, but what i ordered was less than $20 so imagine my sticker shock when she showed me the bill, but she without hesitation corrected it. Thank goodness.

Yelp
We loved catching an after dinner drink here! They have such a great fun space. It's hard not to love the all Pink atmosphere. This is a great space to have a girls night out the service was great and our server was beyond helpful and great at helping us select the best sips! I highly recommend the: Heart of Marigold Titos Vodka, Aviation Gin, St. Germain, Fresh Pressed Green Juice, Citrus Juice I loved it!

Yelp
Stopped in for dessert and was pretty busy but cakes looked amazing. Going to try the fudge cake as it looked amazing. Tried out the scan and order which was only 10mins !

Yelp
2nd time here but first time with my good girlfriend, my oldest daughter. We arrived too late for her to try the Truffle Fries as the kitchen was closed but we'll be back together soon!

Yelp
The CUTEST place everrrrr! I soooo enjoyed my time at this bar. It's beautiful in every way and the details are spot on! So many awesome photo opportunities. The service was great and the drinks were good. Every time I'm in Charleston I'm surely coming here. Also the hotel is beautiful (Hotel Bennett).

Abigail B.

Yelp
Me and one of my girlfriends came here for a cocktail before going to other bars on a Friday night. The place is super cute for a girls drink. Everything is pink and fun. All the servers were bubbly and nice and helpful - even offered to take pics of us then proceeded to move the table out of the way for a good angle lol. The drinks were priced as you'd expect for a nice cocktail bar, and the presentation was pretty.

Yelp
If you love bubbles you must check out Charleston's only champagne bar. Located inside Hotel Bennet , the swank , feminine ambiance will have you feeling classy and sassy after a glass of bubbles inside this beautiful lounge. The stunning pink hue and the beautiful marble that grace the bar and tabletops along with the strands of crystals that dangle from the mirrored ceiling, add elegance and charm to this unique and beautiful space . Their menu features an extensive collection of bottle and by the glass offerings . Additionally, they also offer champagne inspired cocktails and a collection of desserts. Camellia's also offers an afternoon tea , with details on the website. We came by after our dinner at Gabrielle to finish our evening with a glass of bubbles and it was the perfect close to a great evening inside Hotel Bennet . The service , ambiance and drinks were exceptional . While Camellia's seems perfect as a popular nighttime destination, the opulent room is an ideal special occasion spot in daylight hours, fit for a shared pot of tea with the family, or fanciful festivities for a family member's birthday--whatever the occasion, Camellia's can certainly provide a uniquely luxurious experience .

Yelp
I am LIVING for this feminine glam setup. Been meaning to checkout this champagne bar for the longest of time! Great music, attentive staff, and has some snazzy drinks. Definitely wanna return, might splurge on a champagne flight down the line but in the meantime my sis tried: Thyme After Thyme: gin, blackberry + thyme infusion, rose cordial, citrus juice, topped with Mirabelle rosé and I got the Eternally Grapefruit: gin, rose cordial, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, angostura bitters, topped with Caposaldo Prosecco

Yelp
During our 5 days stay in Charleston, we wanted to make sure we hit the most popular places!!! One of the places I really wanted to find in Charleston is high tea!!! A friend recommended Camellias in Hotel Bennet for me!! When checking the website, the pink ceiling and the whole set up told us that's it! And we book the place! So glad we did and it was actually our highlight for our Charleston trip!!!!!! The entrees and dessert were really good!! Highly recommended for high tea in Charleston!!!!

Yelp
My highlight of my friend from out of town visiting was tea here. Took a long time to get a reservation it's a small place. Something a little touristy but also left me wanting to return. Mad hatter tea was the best tea had, didn't even need cream/ sugar. Desserts and sandwiches were mixed, my friend loved some I liked others - nice to share. The experience is what makes this place 5 stars. Right around the corner form this venue In the same hotel is a patisserie. So you can leave and bring more sweets home if you want ( it's by the bathrooms they direct you to) Location is good right off king we had a great day doing this and shopping. Highly recommend

Yelp
Loved everything about this place! I can't recommend it enough! We stopped in on a trip down there and enjoyed a lovely bottle of champagne and the atmosphere
