"Leave your love on the seashore Just an easy 30-minute train ride from the Genova Brignole train station lies the lovely fishing village of Camogli. As in many places in Italy (Juliet's house in Verona, bridges across the Arno), Camogli offers a beautiful place to leave a reminder of your love. After enjoying your day exploring the beach (and the delicious seafood), tie your heart to this centuries-old fisherman's net, and leave a piece of yourself (and your loved one) in this little village."

Yelp
Cute little town on the Italian Riviera. For the ambitious, a great place to serve as terminus for a hike across the rocky countryside from Portofino. Not sure what it would be like to overnight, but it's an easy train ride to Santa Margherita Ligure so it could serve as an authentic alternative to SML or Portofino.

Yelp
Camogli is one of the lovely towns along the Italian Riveria and definitely one of the best kept secrets of the increasingly touristy (and equally beautiful) neighboring towns, which are Recco (known for its cheese focaccia) and Rapallo to the North; Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. Along the way there are other pitstops to be made, via train, bike or hiking trails. Camogli is known for the tall and unique pastel-colored homes built into the hillside. This type of architecture is actually unique to this area. Fresh seafood and pesto abound. It's a quick 2.5 hour drive from Milano and it's simply stunning.

Yelp
#100-2016: Liguria has some of the most peculiar landscaping found in Italy. It can range from mountain-like vegetation dropping straight unto the sea. One of the best example of such a peculiar beauty is the town of Camogli (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camogli). It is the biggest (and probably best known) town of the Parco Naturale Regionale di Portofino. Neighboring towns are Recco (known for its amazing cheese focaccia) and Rapallo to the North; Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino to the East. It is worth mentioning that Camogli (along with many other towns in the area) have amazing natural sightseeing spots as well as walking paths that lead to secluded and remote beaches, promontori as well as ancient defensive buildings (watchtowers, prisons). One of the most amazing path is the one that leads to Punta Chiappa (through San Rocco) and Porto Pidocchio. From the bay of San Fruttuoso,l expert trekkers will be able to walk all the way to San Rocco and Punta Chiappa and enjoy the view from steep cliffs. I have often gotten to Camogli with my family over the week end for some walking excursions, both during the Spring and early summer seasons. Only recently I'm have I opted to rent a little apartment off-season for a week (first week of june) just to recharge my "batteries" and enjoy strolls on to the beach and walks through amazing natural paths. How can one reach Camogli? - Via train (local and regional mostly). - via highway (A12) exit Recco (follow directions to Recco/Camogli for 2 more km) - via boat from Recco or Genova

Yelp
A wondeful little village! I actually find this place more beautiful and romantic than most other towns nearby! Try staying late and grab a bite at one of the restaurants at the seafront. The sunset is awesome!
