This was our first time at Camp Sacramento and we loved it. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the food was very good. They had archery, hiking, and tie dyeing for the kids to keep them entertained. And inside the lodge was a pool table, air hockey table, and a fooz ball table. There were also lots of books to read as well. Then right outside the lodge there are playgrounds, a basketball court, and a volleyball court to play at as well. The living quarters were pretty decent. Our cabin was a bit worn down where the windows did not close properly, but it was still pretty clean and comfy. There are a few communal bathrooms with showers and hot water, which was nice. A few of the living quarters also are adjacent to a nearby creek, which provides nice relaxing water sounds. All in all, if you are looking for a camping experience similar to Yosemite without the drive from Sacramento, then this is a great alternative. 😊

Camp Sacramento is currently closed I do believe it will be open in the summer I work for an underground utility company we just put a new septic system in for the whole campgrounds the fire burned up the last one I stayed here for a week no one else is here but us I got to say it's pretty nice I think it's worth it the price it cost to stay here for a weekend it's really nice beautiful place it even snowed the other night the whole Mountain was covered in white so this summer look forward to seeing the newly opened Camp Sacramento.

I went to Camp Sac every year growing up, and now it's really fun to bring my kids here. it's a really great family vacation. It's not club med or a five star resort, but the staff is awesome, and there's good old fashioned fun:)

Google
Great place for family fun and relaxation. Or you can exercise your tail off hiking and swimming. Very friendly staff and campers. Don't expect grand quarters or meals, but you won't go hungry. Bring lots of wine, beer and marshmallows.

Worth the drive. Staff was great, amenities were perfect, archery was our favorite.

Yelp
I recently attended my wife's work retreat, where her colleagues stayed for the weekend, and we drove in just for the day. I was looking forward to participating in activities like hiking and archery, but unfortunately, the day didn't quite live up to expectations. We kicked things off with a hike, which was advertised as "easy" and suitable for kids. However, when we arrived, we were told it would be rough for the younger ones, but we decided to give it a shot anyway. The hike was manageable for us, but it definitely wasn't as easy as we were led to believe. Next came lunch. It was a Mexican-themed meal, which I was excited about, but I was thoroughly disappointed. They told us it was a taco bar, but they served burritos. The food tasted more like something you'd get at a public school cafeteria--not authentic at all, and definitely not worth the excitement. Lastly, we tried out archery, which ended up being the biggest letdown of the day. We waited for almost an hour just to shoot three arrows. There were only two lines for a large group of people, making the entire experience feel like a waste of time. The instructors didn't provide much guidance and seemed to assume we'd all know what we were doing right away. Despite all of this, my son had a good time, which was the most important part of the day. However, I expected a lot more from the experience overall.

Yelp
Very nice and close to Sacramento for a nice outdoor view. The camp was clean and staff are very friendly.

Yelp
We've been here twice now with the Physician Wellness group at Kaiser Permanente. I'm not much of an outdoors person but my sons and I had a wonderful time "roughing it" in the small cabins without central HVAC, using the communal bathroom, listening to the creek at night and the other sounds of nature, and wandering the grounds. Camp Sacramento is a great escape from the city of Folsom where we live. We enjoyed playing air hockey, foosball, and pool at the Main Cabin and appreciate all the staff who taught us archery, tie-dye, and s'mores making.

Yelp
I came here with my family in the 70s, brought my kids in the 90s, and now bring my grandson and his mom. It's everything you'd expect and hope for from a family camp. Food is not gourmet, but it's definitely edible. Beds aren't 5 star hotel quality, but comfortable enough. The staff has always been amazing. Full of energy, helpful, cheerful, and welcoming. Can't wait for mini 3 in 2025!

Yelp
Still going. Still love this place. Good food, good times. Glad it survived the Camp Fire. We have little ones now and they are enjoying camp Sac just like big Bro used to. Chad is still there. Most of the others are new. Small & big updates like a new back patio.

Yelp
Less than 2 hour drive!! Had a blast! Was a little slushy by the time we left but nothing my Jeep couldn't handle had an amazing time, was clean, a lot of people were there but we weren't crowded at all and had our own little area for our 2 carfuls. Definitely going back again!

Yelp
I could write a review that went on for paragraphs, this amazing place holds so many wonderful memories! Mini week 5 and Full Week 5 --Family memories made, last a lifetime. Although we are no longer attending, we DO take advantage of any help we can lend for Camp Prep, Close of Camp, and other opportunities to come and visit for the day. So grateful to have been part of Friends of Sacramento for years, and thankful to the family of my Ex for bringing this gem into our lives! The BEST summers were spent here, and I look forward to returning in the years to come (hopefully with Grandchildren in tow!) Great meal options, wonderful day events (my FAVORITE is the hike to Lover's Leap!), archery, fishing, Lake Tahoe beach visits and more. THIS is how families spend time together, FAMILY vacations are the best!

Yelp
Stayed here recently and I don't really know if I would recommend this place. The rooms are scary, super dark and spooky. The shower/bathroom facilities were usually pretty dirty, but at least they had showers I guess. The food was decent overall. Probably won't be returning.

Yelp
Looking for fun in the cool weather? Camp Sacramento is the place to be. A week's stay includes crafts, volleyball, fishing, hiking, and other activities without having to fix your own meals. For us it has been 40 years of tradition.

Yelp
Just like summer camp when you were a kid, but for the whole family! Very relaxing trip for parents as they have planned and supervised activities for the kids by age group every day.
