The 15 Essential Coffee Shops in London

"One of the most consistent cafés in the game and an East Finchley standby, Campbell and Syme offers two espressos and three filters from its rotating cast of single origin coffees — currently, a macerated natural process coffee from Honduras and another from the well-regarded Aricha area in Sidamo, Ethiopia are standing out." - James Hansen

One of the best coffee places in London I have visited so far. Their espresso is mind-blowing. Full body, low acidity and hardly any bitterness at all. I wish I could dial in my machine like this. Pour-overs are tasty as well. Once they noticed after my order that they didn't have enough enough beans. Despite my protest the barista gave me a refund and the espresso on the house. Can't wait for my next visit.

Just had cappuccinos here after a family lunch in the area. Our son and his wife are regulars and now we know why, the coffee is great in a lovely place which also has a selection of pastries. Thank you.

Great cafe just off the main street with speciality coffee. Atmosphere felt very relaxed and not too busy. Oat Flat white is only £3.50. They have a great selection of cakes and also toasties. Plenty vegan options too. Highly recommend!

The cappuccino was good. It was a bit bitter to my taste but it was definitely rich in taste. It was a bit too hot in my opinion though. They have some good options too like toasts, so it can be a good light breakfast option

Coffee is great, food is good, one of the baristas is super randomly bitchy?! Or at least, she was to me! Update/response: I changed the language on my review because I recently left another bad review (as you can see, not all my reviews were bad). I looked at both reviews together and decided that I'd used 'hostile' twice - once in both reviews - and because they were next to each other, I would try to find another word for one of them because otherwise it looks as though I think all staff are hostile. And trust me, I don't! So I used the next most accurate description. I have had an excellent experience at C&S every other time I'd been in there, but this was bizarre and yes - it REALLY happened. I have no idea what a 'revenge review' is?! Because I had a bad coffee? I've never had a bad coffee there. I would give details as to what exactly happened, but for blindingly obvious reasons I don't want to be identified. I have only made a few bad reviews, most of mine are good, and it's just plain bonkers that managers can't handle the fact sometimes their staff are rude, and we're going to complain about it. Come on, guys, do better. Further update: also, it was a 3 star review - why is that so bad?! That is a rhetorical question btw.

Good food and coffee for reasonable prices. Had the banana bread which was toasted with butter, which was nice (remember to use the jam!). Also had the avocado with smoked salmon, which was very good, but think the granola was actually the best! Try the filtered coffee as well.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, excellent hibiscus tea, and the ground coffee beans which I bought to use at home are great too! Also the place has an unpretentious vibe which I appreciated being a coffee noob!

Coffee Shops Each Tube Station For Digital Nomads 6th Stop: Northern Line-East Finchley-Coffee Shop2 Campbell & Syme Coffee Roaster Category: Coffee Roastery+Independent Cafe WIFI: Reliable and free to use (need a code) Download 5.09Mbps Upload 0.15Mbps PING 25 JITTER 10 Seating: Big space for only 26 seats with square tables and chairs, and bar stools. Obviously it is quite spacious and don't make you feel cramped even it is full. And they labelled 12 laptopper seats. Charging Spots: Yes, loads of power sockets. Bathroom: One for Unisex Water Station: Yes, customers could get free water Ambience: Located in a side street, it is very calm and peace. With big glass window, simple decor style and less seats, it is very bright and has a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff Friendliness: Very nice and patient, with a wide knowledge of coffee Cost: Coffee £2.2-£3.5 Tea £3.0 Breakfast/Lunch/Brunch £2.8-£8.0 Retail&Free Coffee £17.00 Something Special About the Cafe: (1) They restrict the seats for laptoppers with a label on the table, only 12 seats are allowed. (2) As a coffee roaster, they source their own beans, do their own roast, and brew the coffee, so you could smell the aroma of coffee and try very fine coffee here. Problems: (1) With less seats and more space, you may feel it not that inviting and comfortable for a long stay; (2) A good place for coffee and cakes but not many choices for lunch/brunch; (3) Their closing time on weekdays is quite early.

Yelp
We were in search of a decent cup of coffee and came across this establishment- Not being familiar with the area (we're from California), it was such a nice surprise! Coffee was great, friendly atmosphere, just a really nice respite from the busy days (London!!) we had been encountering. Wonderful experience! We're the "Half-Caf" couple, BTW... : )

Yelp
Very good coffee, friendly stuff and exceptionally good bread with tasty soups! Personally, I found it to be a hidden gem
