"Everything is bigger in Texas, especially the portions at this local favorite. Finishing their World Famous Nachos is no small feat but well worth the try. Grab a spicy jalapeno margarita and visit the patio for a charming light display. Don’t fill up on their salsa trio before trying one of their jumbo shrimp plates like the namesake Senor Campuzano with beef tenderloin and guacamole." - Charity Chukwu

Fantastic!!! My husband and I stopped in on our way to Dealy Plaza! Great atmosphere and the food was amazing! I highly recommend the enchiladas! Fresh ingredients! Best food we have had in a while!

I have been coming here since moved to Dallas in 2022. This is a regular stop in my restaurant rotation. The food is always so great, but the real gem of the experience is in the people. As a transplant to Dallas, it is so great to see longevity in the service team who takes pride in genuine, personable interactions. It makes me feel so welcomed when the host team knows my name and the bar staff can place my order as soon as I sit down and ask how are things for me. Excelsior service. Side note: this is first stop whenever I pick up out-of-town guests from Love Field, and such a fantastic introduction to Dallas. Setting the bar high, Campuzano!

Friendly staff, we arrived at 4:30 and it picked up pretty quick so perfectly timed on our end. The drinks were mixed well and food was delicious.

Google
We had a great experience here ! Definitely would recommend! The staff is top notch and that is a huge part for me.

Enjoyed lunch it in the patio area. Was a little cool outside, but they have tableside heat, which was great. For a sampler platter and everything was delicious. Chips and salsa and margaritas are great as well. The waiter was attentive, and he didn't forget about us on the patio. We did pay $5 to valet park, which is good because there isn't a lot of parking close by.

Google
Great service. Very accommodating. Loved the food. I had the fajita beef quesadilla, one friend had the fajita salad and my other friend had the taco plate. Very tasty our waiter was so nice.

Yelp
Overall, the fish tacos were great for their price. The fish didn't stand out and I wish they had more seasoning, but combined with the other ingredients, had good overall flavor. The beans and rice were good, and surprisingly the pico salad had a lot of good flavor as well. Needless to say, I will be back again to explore more of the menu!

Yelp
Location Uptown just off Oaklawn Parking Large private lot, street parking Atmosphere Classy Mexican Seating Bar, booths, tables Service Fantastic Menu Happy hour drink and food specials. Love the margaritas and specials. Summary Local uptown bar-great specials, outstanding menu! Love this place!

Yelp
In Dallas visiting my son and he and his girlfriend took us here for dinner. It was an awesome place! But beware... the portion sizes here are immense! I ordered the chicken/beef fajitas and could not believe how big the serving was! First, all the rice beans, cheese, guacamole, and fresh veggies were served on one large, rectangular plate. The meat and grilled veggies are served on another large plate altogether. This is big enough to serve two hungry people! The service is excellent and their selection of tequila is magnificent. I topped the evening off with a couple of shots of Clase Azul. Okay, not cheap by any means, but it was a great ending to a very nice meal! I had to bring the leftovers back to my son's apartment and I made a nice scramble in the morning - which I couldn't finish. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Delicious Tex mex and drinks! The staff is always friendly and prompt with taking your order and bringing out drinks and food. Their house margaritas are $4 during happy hour (M-Th 4-7pm). They taste great. I tried the Tuesday fajita special for the first time and it was also delicious! Great quantity for the price. The restaurant is always comfortable and we love sitting in the back patio on nice days!

Teara J.

Yelp
Great food, service, and drinks! The ambiance was pretty chill, too. I would definitely go back for their margaritas.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
From start to finish we had a great experience. The entrance we were greeted and promptly seated. The decor is very pleasant and appealing. The wait staff was very attentive and fast to refill drinks and pick up plates. The food was delicious. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

Yelp
Went here for lunch on a Friday to try it out. I had driven by the week before on the weekend, and the dinner crowd was lined up out the door. For lunch, parking was not an issue, but I could see how it could be on a busy night. The chips and salsa were ok but nothing special. We had flautas based on pictures we saw on the menu posted on yelp and mexican guiso, which is my go-to when I see it on a menu. The flautas looked nothing like the picture we saw and my wife was not impressed. The guiso looked and tasted like skirt steak, not the stew meat I'm used to. There was some tough meat in there, but luckily, I only had to spit some out twice. It wasn't spicy as others mentioned even with the sliced jalapeños. Tortillas were good and the rice and beans were decent even though I didn't realize I had beans on my plate since they were as runny as the sauce on the guiso. I did end up liking the beans, but my wife wasn't as forgiving for how runny they were. I would give it one more chance to try some of the seafood offerings but unfortunately I won't be having the Mexican Guiso again.

Yelp
I ordered the chips & salsa then ordered queso + ground beef. This was 10/10. Im usually a burrito or quesadilla girlie, but I ordered the fajitas for my entree & it was also a 10/10. My server was so sweet and on time with the refills! I also enjoyed my margarita! The tajin/chile on the straw is my favorite part!! I love it here!

Nikki J.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us by the bartender at our hotel as a fun, local-owned spot - and it did not disappoint! It was loud and crowded, but we were seated right away, and service was prompt. Being this was a girls trip, we of course started with a round of margaritas and chips and salsa. Our waiter was so fun and friendly, and kept us entertained! My friend and I shared the fajita fiesta, which was chicken, shrimp, and steak. It came out hot and perfectly done! It was a busy place with minimal parking, but they do offer valet for only $5 (worth it!). All in all, probably the best Mexican meal we had on the trip, would recommend!!

Melissa M.

Yelp
100% yes! Vegan friendly, pet friendly, gluten free friendly! We brought two large dogs and sat in the patio. They instantly brought us two large to go containers of water for the dogs. The chips and salsa were so good we ate through it so quickly! I was able to get a vegan dish of vegetable tacos with rice and beans ( Not sure if the beans had lard though). The staff was amazing. The setting was awesome with the lighting. Overall 100% perfect date night after running at Katy Trail!

Yelp
Came on a Saturday afternoon and this place was crowded. The parking was valet only ($5) and there didn't seem to be any other option which I wasn't prepared for. We walked in and was seated quickly, although it was busy, loud and crowded. The server, Jose was patient and friendly as we asked lots of questions. He brought chips and salsa and started us off with some waters. Let me be upfront, the salsa wasn't no punk, so if you don't like a little spice in your life don't dunk your whole chip in, start slowly and start with the green one. So I won't lie, I came for the margarita flight and was HIGHLY disappointed when we were told that they don't have that anymore (we were told the other location may still do that), so then we asked about another item we saw on Yelp and told "nope, we don't have that either" - decided to go with a blackberry margarita with a sugar rim. My friends order drinks as well and for what it's worth we got them quickly however my drink tasted like a strawberry margarita at best and had a salt rim. My friend who got the jalapeño margarita stated that her drink wasn't all that great either however the kicker is per the menu, you can't send your drink back, so I was stuck with a mediocre drink. We ordered food and as I had just left an event I ordered the kids meal which read as a soft taco however I was informed it's actually an enchilada. It came with rice and beans - pretty simple - however the rice was dry, the beans were bland and the chili on the enchilada tasted burnt. I will also say that when we asked for more chips, someone besides our server brought them to our table, however what we were given was a bunch of broken crumbs, thankfully Jose eventually notice and he replaced the chips but it was something that we laughed and asked why bother bringing it to the table to begin with. Lastly, I know this is of no fault of the restaurant however at one point my niece was in the bathroom, I could see the door from where I was sitting and a guy attempted to go into the women's bathroom. As I yelled out to him he let me know that his friend thinks she left her phone in there. I explained that he could either wait for my niece to come out or we would gladly go look for him but him going in there at that moment wasn't going to work. Overall I walked in with high hopes and sadly left disappointed. Can't say I'll be back.

Yelp
Major con you only have the option to Valet park to eat here. It wasn't expensive ($5) but the fact that they don't have free parking. was a little disheartening. The restaurant was very crowded but we were seated quickly and our waiter was pretty attentive but at times I felt rushed at times to order. I got food to go and it was not nearly as good as the food was in the restaurant. I had fish with rice and beans. It was very tasty and good size portion for the price. My daughter had a hamburger and it was average. I also got a jalapeno margarita but it tasted more like a traditional margarita with two jalapenos and it I will not order it again I got the beef fajitas to go, but the meat was not cut like traditional fajitas and it was tough.

Marco S.

Yelp
Avoid it the have a sign that the front door said if you smell like "mariguana" they will refuse service. I call that ignorance pendejos.

Amanda R.

Yelp
It's hard to find parking, but this restaurant was really good! Service was super fast. We were seated right away and provided drinks within minutes of sitting down. Salsa was okay. They had three didn't flavors, but I was blown away by them. My friend and I split ground beef queso. I tried their taco salad. It was huge and very tasty. My friend got chicken flautas that she enjoyed. Restaurant is small(just like the parking lot).

April P.

Yelp
Food was just amazing and Delicious I sure cleaned plate. Not to mention service was very quick & our server made sure he checked on us periodically making the experience much more pleasant.

Dolores G.

Yelp
If you want a great Tex-Amex restaurant, Campuzano is definitely the place to try! I got the chicken fajita & when I tell you the food came out sizzling hot & fresh! I would most definitely recommend Bardo as he did great accommodating every single request with no hesitation! The drinks were delicious, I would recommend the "Buena Noche" it definitely lives to its name!

Veronica O.

Yelp
Visiting from out of state and of course we wanted something good and close. Came across this place and was eager to give it a try. I'm so glad we did. The food is phenomenal. The chips and salsas were so good, it was hard not to just fill up on those. We got the sampler platter of appetizers and I would have been happy with just that. Everything was nice and warm and had fresh ingredients. I ordered the steak tacos. They're simple but delicious. The tortillas were warm and soft, the toppings fresh, and the steak was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly. I also ordered the jalapeño margarita and it was really good. Spicy and refreshing. They even brought out an extra coconut margarita for us, which was really cool. It seems like a really cool spot to come in for some really great food and chill. The outside area was really nice and had a cool vibe. I'm glad we didn't have to deal with parking because it seems like it could get tricky, but I would deal with it to eat here. If I'm ever back in this area of Dallas I am for sure coming here again.

Lakeisha R.

Yelp
The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Their drinks are just as good as they look. I have been going to this place for years and have always had a fantastic dining experience.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
amazing chicken quesadillas. it came quick in a timely fashion. I highly recommend the drinks, too!

Dan G.

Yelp
I love Campuzanos! We get a warm welcome every time! Great place to go get Tex Mex! The World Famous Nachos are great and the margaritas are delicious (strong)! It can be quite the party in there and the patio is dog friendly!

Sandra E.

Yelp
Amazing service.buen ambiente familiar,súper rica la comida y lo mejor la salsa verde .increíble

Trammell K.

Yelp
I love this little place I don't get over here often but happy when I do. It's quaint and cozy. The bartenders are fun and G was tons of fun. Drinks were nice and you could taste the alcohol. Lovely! The salsa and chips were good and the green sauce is my favorite. I ordered the carne asada

Naser A.

Yelp
Get the Mexican guiso it's soooo good! Love their drinks, friendly staff. Love the patio seating on a nice day! Gets busy during dinner time, valet available.

Chijioke N.

Yelp
My hats off to the chef... well done. We decided to sit outside because the wet at her was real nice. They have outside sitting facing the bar as well as facing outside. Good music, good servers and amazing food. I'll definitely be back again

Cheri U.

Yelp
Margaritas good. Food just okay. Service good. Busy place with lots of customers so someone likes it.

Don C.

Yelp
Been going here for years. Margs are very strong. So be warned. Lunch specials are around $12 and huge serving. Love the enchiladas. Gay clientele in proximity to the gay strip. Attentive staff.

Lupita R.

Yelp
The chicken tasted very artificial , very much Tex mex not Mexican. The drinks were 10/10 tho.

Sharmella Y.

Yelp
Honestly, the food here is pretty good. However, I will definitely try something new when I return and I will be sure to ask more detailed questions about the entrees. I did not know my tacos came with a spicy sauce on them. Half my meal was too spicy to eat and enjoy.

Bridgette M. K.

Yelp
Took my husband for his birthday for lunch and the food was awesome! Had stopped going there because of the crowds and the food was starting to be "all right" trying to keep up with the crowds but that lunch was awesome!!! Think I'll put it back on my list.

Maria M.

Yelp
Super busy with good reason. Excellent service. Great food. Make sure to ask if something is spicy. We ordered the stew and couldn't eat it! I don't care for very spicy, but they accommodated and switched out our order. Cute spot. Loved it. Will return. The fish was AMAZING, great presentation. Fajitas we great. Everything was good. Nothing average. Drinks Are strong.

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Chips and salsa 2/5 Italian margarita 2/5 Fajita Fiesta 3/5 Service 4/5 Overall 2.5/5 I was very disappointed by the chips and salsa as well as the Italian margarita. I would say this is more Tex-Mex style of food. The fiesta mix was good, however not really worth the price. There's better Tex mex out there for better price!

Kiawatha F.

Yelp
This place is always consistent. The food is AMAZING!!! Anything you eat here you will love.

Sharon S.

Yelp
Had lunch special Shrimp Rellenos. Delicious Sat out on patio since it was a perfect weather day for outdoor dinig

Eva S.

Yelp
My partner and I had an AMAZING meal here. We were in Dallas for the weekend to attend a wedding and we were looking for margaritas near our hotel. We had a few hours to kill before the dinner reception and we found Campuzano. It did not disappoint! We kept wishing that we had more time time in Dallas. When we scanned the menu we also wanted brunch, dinner, appetizers, everything. But we only had about 1.5 hours before we needed to freshen up before dinner (and also needed to save room to eat)... ... so here is what we had: +Chips & Salsa Trio - on the house +Large Mango Margarita (frozen) - his +Uber Black Margarita (frozen) - mine +Fish Tacos, comes with 3 - to share The drinks were strong and delicious. The portions were so generous that we couldn't completely finish our drinks nor avoid the brain freeze that comes with chugging margaritas. Next time I would order a spicy or plain margarita on the rocks, because I like to taste the simple flavors of a good marg, but their "Uber Black Margarita" was so unique, I had to order it. It was a frozen margarita with a sangria swirl topped with Grand Marnier. The personality of this drink is Dua Lipa. Pure party vibes. The fish tacos were fresh. The fish was fried (but not battered) and this was the first time I had fish tacos this way. The ones I've had back home always came with battered/fried, so I'm glad I got to try a classic served in a new way. The fish was "naked" and did not need to be covered up by batter. The freshness shined. By the way, Campuzano serves chips & salsa on the house. I loved the salsa trio. My favorite was a dark red one with smoked chilis. The chips & waters arrived very quickly after we sat down and our server was swift and attentive. It was a Saturday and this place was starting to fill. I was impressed. All the staff worked as if they were ready for a stampeding dinner rush at any minute (probably accurate). Sitting a across from us, a large party of six was celebrating a graduation, the graduate at the head of the table dressed in all her regalia. In a blink of an eye, it seemed like the party disappeared, the tables disassembled, surfaces wiped clean, settings ready for the next. The restaurant ran seamlessly among organized chaos: folks walking in/out, servers making trips back & forth from the bar carrying colorful boozy drinks, and sizzling hot plates of fajita coming from the kitchen. Whether it's pre-dinner, dinner, brunch, or really any time of day, Campuzano's got you covered. The next time we're back in the downtown Dallas area, we will be back!

Shunkecia L.

Yelp
OMG! There's so much to say about Campuzanos! First of all, the portions are HUUUUUUUGE! My mother and I went here just for lunch but when I tell you we had enough food left for 2 days? And it was all so delicious and flavorful! The service was fast and the food was amazing. Absolutely loved it.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Arrived as a party of three to celebrate Cinco De Mayo! I guess more people were doing the same because it was a 2 hour wait! The outside was just as packed as the inside. It was a bit chaotic when you first walk in because there were waiting patrons ordering drinks as they waited, there were people with to go orders (picking up and placing orders) and people being seated. The staff handled it well, they remained calm and helpful. They didn't text when our table was ready but they said they did, we kept coming inside to check and we finally seated. We were greeted with water, chips and salsa. We were so hungry after the wait we devoured 2 bowls! The chips were warm and the salsa was good. My companions both ordered the nachos, one was impressed with the beef the other wasn't with the chicken. The chicken was a bit dry and the way that shredded cheese was melted on top, would have preferred a cheese sauce. I had the veggie quesadillas, they were good! We ordered top shelf margaritas and a Bloody Mary, not knowing there was a drink special because we weren't told that by our waitress. She was nice and held it together during such a busy night, kudos to her. I'd give the dining experience a 9/10 because of the wait but understandable for the holiday. I would go back because this wasn't my first visit and they have a history of having good food and drinks so expect a wait on holidays. I'd recommend!

Shayla H.

Yelp
Food great as always. I had the chicken quesadillas with a Uber black margarita. My company had the sampler with a margarita on the rocks. We both enjoyed the food, but the server we had was not that attentive. The environment is always chill. Would recommend though.

Sydnee H.

Yelp
They were rude for no reason. They sat us down and just looked at us weird and took our drink orders. it was all men and extremely uncomfortable that left us with an unpleasant feeling.

Rolanda K.

Yelp
Excellent food. Ordered in and picked it up. Fresh, ample portions and very positive service Rolanda

Charlie W.

Yelp
We tried this out tonight. The service was great as well as the ambience. I had the fish taco entree and everything was fresh and hot. Unfortunately, the sauce on top of the fish tacos was overwhelming hot and spicy. The chicken tortilla soup was very tasty. We did have to send one margarita back as it had a really odd taste. So overall, I would say it was a hit and a miss.

Alexis B.

Yelp
Sadly didn't takes a pic but I love this place. The drinks are so delicious and G or guillermo is the best bartender ever I'll go there just for his drink

Hayley H.

Yelp
Amazing my ultimate favorite Tex Mex !! Atmosphere is amazing nice and cozy. Service is always on point super fast and box things for you ! I love this place definitely recommend and great prices.

Joyel E.

Yelp
Not only was this some of the best, authentic Mexican food that I have had in a very long time, but the service was impeccable. Everything from the chips and the flight of sauces (3 homemade sauces) that they serve you to the beans and rice to your entrée. Everyone in there is warm and inviting. The drinks are over the top and authentic with fresh fruits and super delicious. I feel like this place is a Hidden gem, so please do not pass this up.

Kayla C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service, and great food! From the queso to the fajitas everything was flavorful. The frozen margarita was okay, I think I'll try a different drink next time. One of the biggest downsides though is parking. You have to pay $5 due to limited parking in the area.

Rachel C.

Yelp
I enjoyed the 3 homemade salsas upon arrival. My group sat outside on the front patio and enjoyed a nice Thursday night lunch. The ambiance was great and the food was nice and hot. I loved the salsa roja and the fresh tortilla chips. The carne asada tacos were cooked to perfection. I can't wait to come back and sit on the back patio. The service was good and the food was fresh!

Melody T.

Yelp
Food came out in less than 5 minutes! Was probably already prepared! Nothing special! Warm temp, descent service. Just a real good stop in, order ..eat quick...and on to the next! Drinks tasted very watered down, not worth to order another round!

Danica R.

Yelp
We had several Mexican eateries to try in the Dallas area. I picked somewhere different than where .y sister normally goes. When I called earlier today I was advised they don't have reservations nor call aheads. When we arrived there was valet parking available. We were greeted right away and taken good care of. We were a pretty large party but seated immediately. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Our waitor was EXCELLENT and very attentive. I ordered the Brisket Tacos and they were very flavorful and fresh. Half of the people in my party had the Chicken and Beef fajitas and they were huge! One fajita can feed three people. Prices are outstanding as well. Will be back!!

Skip S.

Yelp
Great restaurant! Can't believe I have never been. Food was wonderful and service is great. Stuffed jalapeños appetizer was great. Enchiladas we're good, both chicken and beef. Fried banana dessert was great. Nice back patio. Definitely will back.

Chanel B.

Yelp
The drinks were amazing! The food was very good as well! Nothing towards this particular establishment but I keep wondering why do paying customers have to pay for parking???? The restaurant can get a little crowded btw.

Cat N.

Yelp
Very good tex mex. I love their mango margarita with tajin. Service could be better, I came in at 11:10 and they were all eating. It took 15 mins to order and another 10 for drinks and food. Dont have much time when I come in for lunch down work hour. The chimichanga was delicious and filling. It was so much food, I took half to go.
