"Even a hotel in the old city center of Mahón, Menorca’s capital, offers more rest and relaxation than stimulating urbanity — a situation that suits Can Alberti 1740 just fine." - Guide MICHELIN

The hotel is very quiet and ideally situated for shops, bars and many highly recommended restaurants. |We booked a deluxe room with a patio and were allocated room 14. The patio is up on the roof via some steep steps accessed from a vestibule outside of the bedroom door, I felt the stairs were dangerous and were an issue due to mobility, once up the stairs there are two cafe style chairs and a small table. There is also a window overlooking it from another room! Not ideal or what I was expecting. It would make more sense to use the hotels roof terrace than pay for a patio on the roof (we’ve not seen the shared terrace as upstairs and no lift). I asked if we could be moved to one of the rooms shown on the website with the patio off the bedroom but unfortunately they were already occupied. Mar (very nice lady on reception) offered to move us to a suite 2 days later but that didn’t have a patio or to an alternative patio room some days after that. We declined both as we’d unpacked and were settled. We appreciated Mars attempt to help. Breakfast is good and all staff were very friendly. We ended up paying a lot of money for a cosy room without a patio, we didn’t ask and we weren’t offered a reimbursement for not being able to use the patio. Although it had negatively impacted our stay, we would recommend the hotel but would add an advisory note to check which room and whether there are any mobility issues.

Sonja couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, and she clearly knows how to select good staff too! The building is centrally situated, an easy stroll to everywhere in Mahon and very, very beautiful. Large airy rooms, scrupulously clean and finely appointed, and the salon, terraces and other rooms are wonderful. Although no TV in the rooms, there is a separate TV room if you can't cope without. Breakfast had plenty of cold meats, cheese, fruits, etc and eggs cooked to order. There are some stairs to negotiate if mobility is a problem and I don't know how happy young children would be in such tasteful surroundings.|I will definitely return and recommend!

When we decided to return to Can Alberti this year, we wondered if it would live up to the rosy memories we took home from our first visit in 2023. We need not have worried. The beds were just as comfortable, the breakfasts were still superb but most important of all, the staff were still as lovely. All the best hotels try to make you feel that you are a very welcome guest but Can Alberti manages to do that in a way which is more personal than any other we know.||We were lucky enough to have the room with a separate large sitting area and its own private terrace and this year we got full value from that terrace on the lovely sunny days we were there.||The highlight of the visit was an evening at the principal theatre of Mahon for a charity concert sponsored by Can Alberti as part of its long tradition of supporting the arts. Even at this big prestigious occasion, the staff took the trouble to make us feel like special guests, but that's how we always feel at Can Albert - special. ||For our perfect hotel, we look for peace and quiet and understated luxury. We now think of Can Alberti as our home in Menorca and we hope to be back next year.

Excellent hotel! Extremely friendly and personable service. Alberti has very large and spacious, bright rooms and is beautifully and extremely tastefully furnished. Very good breakfast. Since our plane didn't leave until the evening, we were allowed to use our room all day. A parking space for our car was also organized. We'll definitely be back! Thank you for everything! It doesn't get any better.

I’ve been lucky enough to stay in some amazing hotels across the world and I’m gobsmacked at just how good Can Alberti is. Firstly the building is beautiful and sympathetically restored, secondly it’s just soooo relaxing - everything slows down to a different pace (perhaps helped as no TV in the room which is fab) and thirdly but most importantly the staff are super friendly and genuinely care…. from the warm welcome and tour from Sonia to the heartfelt goodbye from Mar - these are people who love their work and their guests. And let’s not forget about breakfast - simple food of the highest quality, and the art and interior design. I could go on. ||For me, Can Alberti resets the benchmark for boutique hotels… the challenge for Sonia and the team is maintaining and evolving. I cannot wait to return….

I cannot really put into words how much we enjoyed our stay at Can Alberti. Mar, Sonia and Maria Gracia could not have been more helpful from specially arranging our rooms next to each other, helping arrange a mobility scooter, recommendations of places to go and places to eat, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Super rooms. Great breakfast. Very peaceful and relaxing. Thanks all.

A Unique Hotel|We have been lucky enough to stay in some very good (and not so good) hotels since we first met in Menorca in 1983. Often we have said, “We must come back here” – but we never have. I think the Can Alberti has changed that.||The first thing to say is that it has all the attributes you expect in a top-class hotel – good food, lovely rooms and excellent service. So why did we come away feeling it was so special?||We were fortunate enough to have Room 4, which meant enjoying a spacious bedroom, separate large sitting room, ensuite with a bath and separate shower and our own little terrace, but all the rooms looked lovely. The breakfasts were superb, with lots of fresh fruit, excellent omelettes and gorgeous Menorcan honey.||So why unique? Firstly. It was the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in, which was just what we were looking for. Secondly, the atmosphere was very “un-hotel” - in a great way. We loved the art on the walls, the gorgeous furniture and the whole appearance of the interior, which felt so Menorcan but also contemporary and welcoming.|We loved this area of Mahon – so quiet, so relaxing, but so close to all the nice bustle of the port and the town centre.||But for us, it is always the people who look after you that make the difference between a good hotel and somewhere very special. Sonia and her team give you the impression that they will do everything to make you feel that the hotel is yours for the duration of your stay and that it is a pleasure to have you in what feels like their rather grand but very welcoming home. ||So thank you to her, to Mar, Maria Gracia, Marta, Yann, Betty and Leah. I think you have broken our lifetime habit of always moving on to somewhere new, but in the best possible way.|
