The room has that comforting, lived-in quality that newer places try to manufacture: you sit down and instantly understand how it has survived changing fashions.

These are traditional plates, done with good product and a steady hand—flavors that land cleanly, without fuss, and without needing to explain themselves. There’s a reassuring sense of craft: classics executed as classics, with the kind of consistency that makes you trust the kitchen.
The wine list is where the restaurant shows its range. It’s huge, and it includes a handful of rare references that come at untouchable prices. Still, the broader selection is genuinely well built, and you can drink very well if you navigate wisely. The only real quibble: better glasses would elevate the experience, though the current ones won’t ruin your night.
