The Best Miami Spice Brunch Menus, 2021 | Eater Miami

"Located inside the Hyatt Centric in Brickell, this restaurant offers a menu filled with modern takes on Cuban classics. For its Miami Spice brunch, menu options include starters like camarones al ajillo (garlic shrimp) and tostada de aguacate (avocado toast), followed by main course options like the huevos Benedictos a lo Cubano made with two poached eggs, porchetta, and a “secret” Havana hollandaise sauce, or a Cuban sandwich. Finish up the meal with a rotating dessert selection. Available Sundays." - Amber Love Bond

I love this place! I went with my boyfriend and got the vegan picadillo. Our drinks were some of the best cocktails we had in our lives and the food was amazing. The thing that stood out the most was our INCREDIBLE server Daniel. He is the best server I have ever had. He was so knowledgeable about the menu and was so polite. The other servers were very kind too. I would come back for the service alone, but the food and drinks will also convince me!

Google
The food was delicious. I throughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Everything was so fresh, delicious and healthy. They had a wide range of options for all types of dietary preferences. The location is beautiful and right on the beach. We could see the ocean from our table. You won’t regret eating here for breakfast.

Google
Fantastic dinner! Had 1) Mofongo (yucca + really tender octopus; highly recommend) 2) plantain tostadas w/ pork (good flavors but I think it could be improved w/ more sauce since it was a bit on the drier side) 3) custom side of kale (with evoo I think, for those of us who want a side of healthy greens ^__^) 4) flan (BEST I ever had in my life!!!) 5) tre leches (not bad, but felt it was dominated by the ratio of whip cream taste wise, despite being visually appealing) 6) passionfruit capirinha (bartender was absolutely lovely & nailed it! Even kindly adjusted/upped the sweetness as I like it) To be honest, I was having a bit of a rough evening/day - but food here definitely warmed my soul and the staff + bartender are super kind in sharing their recs. Would highly recommend Caña for a low-key but soul-warming Cuban food!

Wanted a quick dinner while walking around and stopped at Cana for a cocktail and dinner. Great flavor for both. The balcony overlooks a quiet area.

Google
I ate breakfast here daily when staying at the hotel and it was good. I tried all the protein options (chorizo, bacon, and sausage) as a part of my American eggs, and the chorizo was definitely the best by far. I also tried the avocado toast, which had a nice mild flavor. The smoothies were good as well, between the tropical greens and berry banana, I think I slightly prefer the berry banana, but they’re quite different flavors that I both enjoy and would have on different occasions. The service was pretty slow on the first day where I went close to the end of breakfast hours, but was quick on the other days where I went a bit earlier.

Food: The clam dish is highly exceeded my expectation. We tried one appetizer and two main dishes. We are seafood lovers and definitely love these dishes. We really love the clam dish it taste so fresh and a little bit sour. Indoor/Outdoor: They have outdoor seats but because it is very close to street and a bit noisy, so we chose to seat indoor. It was not crowded during noon time. The ambiance and decors inside this restaurant are both good! Location: it is inside Hyatt hotel at the second floor, easy to access. Price: feel like a bit overpriced. But is is in Miami financial district so maybe it is the normal price here?

Google
Wow wow wow. This restaurant is one of those rare hidden gems. The food is without a doubt, some of the tastiest I’ve ever tried. I highly recommend the shrimp garlic dish as a starter. It’s heavenly good. Their cubanero sandwich is a popular one and I can confirm that it’s great. The service was magnificent too. From the hostess to our server. Good dish recommendations, happy to change something on my dish after it was served to us (french fries to salad) and pointed out several sightseeing in the area. Top experience!

Google
We went with high expectations for some good Cuban food but were really disappointed. The empanadas were dry. The fish fillet was rather small and not very flavorful. The shrimp was good with a light breading and also a bang bang sauce. Overall, very underwhelming. I guess this is why you should avoid the hotel restaurant.

Yelp
I'm in Miami, so of course I want a great Cuban dinner. Yelp reviews don't lie! Caña Restaurant and Lounge came highly recommended, so I walked over. The restaurant is open and airy, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Not too loud, and intimate enough for an "impress your date" dinner that won't break the bank. Service was immediate and polite. I ordered a chicken empenada, and the slow-roasted pork shoulder. The empenada was small, but soft and packed with flavor. It came with a spicy, creamy green sauce which complemented it nicely. The pork was absolutely delicious! Not overly spicy, but a beautiful crust and an amazing mix of flavors. Black beans and rice were perfect. One of the best Cuban dining experiences I've ever had, and definitely the best roasted pork shoulder I've ever tasted. Portion size was just right. If you haven't eaten here, you're definitely missing out.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night, was pretty empty. Got the vegan dish and the serving was HUGE! Wish they made a half size but got a big amount for the price, which was great. Very flavorful. Love that they have veggie options. I also got the passion fruit drink, which was also bright and delicious

Yelp
Had a really nice breakfast here before heading to the airport. They open at 6:30am so it's a great option if you have to start your day on the earlier side. My server was wonderful. Super friendly an accommodating. I ordered an oat milk cappuccino, the avocado toast (delicious), and a side of chicken sausage for good measure. I cleaned my plate so I obviously enjoyed my meal. The restaurant itself is really nicely set up. It's definitely a warm, welcoming area, and the decor was beautiful. The only thing I wasn't crazy about were the booths. The one I ended up sitting at was a bit uncomfortable. I had to wiggle in carefully since the table itself was too big for the arrangement, but nothing too terrible.

Yelp
Located inside the Hyatt Centric Brickell. Came here for breakfast and must say that French toast dish I had was fantastic. Yum. We ordered the American breakfast and one plate the bacon was nice and crispy and the other was so soggy, it stunk. One note: they don't offer a kids menu for breakfast. Our sever though was non existent. Came to get our order and that was it. Had to go to bar to get refills for our coffees. That's one bad thing about Miami, the gratuity is automatically added. The place itself is nicely decorated with walls of windows so you can look outside.

Yelp
So this is the first time at Caña. Not the first time in Miami, but am always looking for places to eat good food. Miami is known for good Cuban food so it's hard to find the right place when there are so many restaurants. Well my girlfriend and I ended finding this restaurant on Yelp! Being the review trusting kind I gave Caña a chance. Man the good reviews weren't wrong. The food and service were excellent. Daniel was our server. His recommendations were spot on. He recommended so many great plates but we went with the Burrta, Yuca Frita, Lechon Asada, Tostones, and the Empanadas. My girlfriend asked for an Apple martini but they didn't have the green apple flavoring, so we made a drink similar to it just from his own experience. What a drink!! Give this place a try it's on the second floor of the Hyatt Centric hotel.
google avatar

Gareth Q.

Yelp
Piernita de Cerdo Asada is great!! The other dishes was good too but as a pork lover there's no other
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
This was our first stop on our Miami trip. Our drinks were good although she had to send someone else to the table when I asked for a French 75. I had the Cuban sandwich and my husband had lechon asada. The sandwich was a perfect example of a Cuban sandwich; warm, crispy on the outside and great flavor. The lechon asada was tender and very flavorful. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
I bookmarked this place to try and had a meal to spare. Initially I was skeptical as it wasn't the cleanest and it was too early not to be but I gave them a mini pass. Cana is located in the Hyatt and I started with a Presidente' beer which I always enjoy and went for the brunch bowl with rice, black beans, fried egg, plantains and fried pork and was not disappointed. Everything was flavorful and well put together. I'd definitely order it again but hope they tidy up more often.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant several times while staying at the Hyatt. The restaurant has a beautiful patio area and a relaxing indoor dining space that has lots of natural light and a beautiful mural. The staff were very friendly and attentive during my visit. I had two of the three breakfast smoothies during my stay. The tropical greens smoothie was absolutely delicious, but the berry smoothie was not as great. It was watery and too liquid to be even considered a smoothie. In addition it did not taste too good.

Yelp
Went to their Mother's event, wasn't too happy with the food choices and price. $75 per adult $37 per child, but Mimosa's were extra cost? That was kinda silly. The French toast was cold and hard, the lobster wasn't seasoned and tasted as if it just sat there. Meats were bbq and reheated on a grill as you ordered. The taste of the food wasn't horrible it's just if you are charging patrons $75/person you would expect immediate attention to the quality of the food and not let it sit there and get cold/stale. They did comp my wive's mimosa due to the issue with the French toast. The service was excellent and the staff was on top of everything, when we mentioned the cold French toast they replaced it with a new batch. I did call in for a reservation and was not informed that they had a buffet only event. Would have much rather dine in. Ambiance was good, live music, nice and open with lots of natural light. The views are nothing crazy, just buildings and the street. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience but for my wife and my two daughters, $300 for basic Cuban cuisine with no included alcohol and a forced upon 18% service charge, I would have rather made some bbq at home and saved the expense. Also, restaurant really need to cool it with forced tips, pay your employees more!

Yelp
The food here is truly authentic and prepared with care. From the Empanadas to the Tostones and finally to the 24hour slow cooked pork this was an amazing meal. The staff is friendly and attentive. Our waitress Carolina was wonderful!
google avatar

Yelp
We were visiting from out of state and stayed at the Brickell. We got hungry so we ordered a few items to go, for our rooms. Not the most authentic Cubano but it was very good and fresh. The grilled octopus was delicious and cooked nicely, not hard and chewy and the pickled baby onions and cherry peppers were perfect in combination with the Mofungo. But the star of the show were the sweet potato waffle fries. They were so good it was like having dessert after our meal.
google avatar

Lisa K.

Yelp
This was an insanely delicious restaurant! Big portions and excellent service. I didn't realize we were going to a Hyatt, and this ended up being my favorite Cuban restaurants of all the restaurants I tried during my trip. Service and food were extraordinary and I would recommend this place and come again in a heartbeat.
google avatar

Diana O.

Yelp
This Cuban/Latin-influenced restaurant is upscale and classy. The food was phenomenal, our server was patient and attentive. I ordered a glass rose and chardonnay, and I enjoyed the buttery chardonnay along with some scallops on a red pepper and tomato based light broth. The scallops did not come with a side, however I did try the beef and chicken empanadas which were very tasty. The beef empanadas was made with soft pulled pork. Lastly I want to mention that they have plenty of seating work a view and a rooftop bar with an amazkmf view of Brickell. We had a really good time.
google avatar

Newman H.

Yelp
Food is good and service is efficient and fast. Location is of course wonderful with a narrow ocean view on the balcony.
google avatar

Dora M.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. However our rice was a little undercooked. Also the place mentioned live music for ambiance, however it as a bit of a let down. The service was also good, our server made sure to help us with the menu options and ensured we were taken care of throughout the night.
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
Very good experience at this restaurant. The food was great and the service by Irka was excellent.

Chelsea G.

Yelp
This place is cute and has a very friendly staff. Beautiful bar and has a wonderful mural!

Yelp
A hidden gem in Miami! This little restaurant is tucked away in the Hyatt Centric, but don't let that fool you. The flavors are bold, the meat is cooked to perfection! For main course, we had the skirt steak, pulled pork, and Cubano. The Cubano is literally what I would envision how the perfect Cubano (like on movie Chef) would taste. It is perfectly balanced with a brilliant burst of flavors and on perfectly grilled bread. The skirt steak was expertly made and paired well with the sauce. The only criticism is the pulled pork could use a sauce as well, but otherwise it was very tender, reflective of the 24 h cooking process advertised. The servers were attentive to our needs. The drinks were on point. All in all, I highly recommend checking out this out for an extraordinary, elevated Cuban experience!

Martha O.

Yelp
The tostones appetizer failed to meet our expectations in terms of taste and quality.
google avatar

Diane H.

Yelp
Food was wonderful, service was great and we loved the restaurant. Wonderful Cuban meal.

Yelp
Went here for happy hour on my first night in Miami -- holy cow did this experience set the bar high. Although service was a little slow on a Friday night, the food was fantastic. We did tapa style with a couple of items, in particular the calamari & empanadas were bomb. Does fall on the touristy side since it sits above & is connected to a hotel, but the view is stellar and atmosphere up to par. Check out Caña if you're looking for a quick dinner spot to hit before the night really gets going!

Yelp
This place has a GREAT miami spice 2021 lunch. Very good Cuban food with generous portions. Cute atmosphere on a high floor and part of the restaurant has a partial beach view. They have a bar at the center. They play good music. All they need is a live band or DJ. Food: Tostones w/ vaca frita-incredible!! Gives Pisco y Nazca competition on theirs! Lechón Asado-delicious! Very flavorful and juicy. Rice & beans were good. French toast- very good (sweet and good as a dessert) Chicharrones de viento (pork rinds)-SOOO good Dessert: Flan- VERY good flan. Perfect texture and flavor. Arroz con leche-disappointing! Needs more evaporated milk, sugar, and cinnamon. Service: Very good and helpful. Daniel was fantastic. Parking: Valet or street parking available. There's also an $8 parking lot across their building (2 min. walk)

Jurnee P.

Yelp
This place was great!! Service was super quick. And food was authentic and delicious. Would 100% recommend if you are visiting Miami.

Yelp
Staying at the Hyatg Centric Brickell and enjoyed a lovely breakfast overlooking the bay from my seat by the window. You can sit outside bust that's for tourists...as a Floridian I like my AC. it's too hot outside. Service was great Friendly, prompted and on point. These eggs Benedict were a nice treat, eggs poached perfectly, as the knife hit it the yolk just covered the meal like lava flowing from a volcano. Something about that is so soothing. The ham was a salty Serrano type ham and the bread, instead of English muffin was a pillowing cuban bread roll. So good I could order another as I type this.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
What a wonderful surprise. I am sure others will worry that this hidden gem is in a Hyatt Centric and might be more of a guest service than a serious dinning option. This is a very nice and low key restaurant. Our food was wonderful and the service was even better. I had the grouper fillet and my colleague had the shrimp. Both entrees were delicious. We also enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad with calamari and chocolate mousse for dessert. Every bite was a pleasure to enjoy. The prices were less than other similar restaurants in the area. Give it a try, I recommend sitting outside.
google avatar

Apple S.

Yelp
This restaurant is gorgeous and feels spacious, it is bright and unique in decor. The food was great and prices as expected. The only issue is service - absolutely horrible. Nobody every to be found. Whenever we wanted something we had to walk around looking for someone working to tell them and then still wait forever to have them come to your table. How do they do business like that I got no clue.
google avatar

Deylis P.

Yelp
Came on Christmas Day and I'm so glad I did!! Everything from the service to the food was amazing! There was even a jazz player present setting the chill Christmas Brunch vibes, definitely want to come back!!
google avatar

Sophie H.

Yelp
I love the views from the balcony of this restaurant. It's very clean and the food is delicious. A great spot for a quiet conversation with a friend, the service is not pushy or in your face so it's great for a date as well. Drinks are delicious, coffee is as well. Loved the scallops.
google avatar

Dustin M.

Yelp
Food is excellent but don't go here with kids! Kids hamburger was $16! Entrees are amazing, but way too much for a kids meal. After calling and speaking to the GM, kids portion was refunded.
google avatar

Lannie L.

Yelp
Omg this restaurant is no joke when it comes to Cuban food. I just checked into the hotel and was feeling hungry. Didn't want to take an Uber out to get something to eat. Decided to stay and eat at the hotel restaurant. Best decision ever. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, vaca frita, and pulpo con monlongo de yuca. Yum.... I'm from the SGV and I usually go to Porto's for Cuban sandwiches thinking that was a good Cuban sandwich until I came to Miami and ate here at the Cana. They have a better Cuban sandwich. The plus side for smokers that they sell cigars and you can smoke it outside on there balcony.
google avatar

Logan A.

Yelp
Great Cuban sandwich and good service. Super friendly and helpful staff. Clean restaurant and nice dining area.
google avatar

Sandi G.

Yelp
I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Brickell when I came for the Ultra Music Festival. Naturally I had several meals here and they were all amazing. The location itself was pretty convenient for me since it's right inside the hotel and there was absolutely no wait. On Friday, I had the lunch special with roasted pork and it was delicious! It was a good amount of food for the price. On Sunday, I got the guava French toast and it was amazing! Unfortunately my stomach has shrunk so much by this point that I was only able to finish half of it. I highly recommend this restaurant for some delicious Cuban food that won't break the bank.
google avatar

Marley M.

Yelp
The breakfast here is sooooo good and hearty. My partner and I eat A LOT and always have a hard time with the portions at restaurants but these portions were perfect and the food was made with love. We stayed at this hotel (Hyatt Centric in Brickell) and ordered food from here every morning of our stay. I recommend staying at this hotel if you're from NYC and prefer a city vibe over a slower vibe.

Karen R.

Yelp
Another amazing time here ! Came after my daughters recital and Jorge Rodríguez took such care of us Very attentive with us and the kids .. always a good time here.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible service at lunch on a Saturday. The bartender was our sever and he wasn't busy. He forgot our appetizer and only brought the sandwich we'd planned on sharing after the appetizer. What a loser. And fair warning, they charge for iced tea refills at this crappy establishment. Cuban sandwich was good, hence two stars.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Upscale restaurant located in the Hyatt in Brickell. Sat at the bar and received excellent service and recommendations. The drinks were crafted with care and tasted fantastic. The food was exceptional! I would recommend anyone visiting the Brickell area of Miami to make this a stop.
google avatar

J A.

Yelp
This is a little restaurant in a Hyatt. It is nothing exceptional. Not good service. Food is just blah and wont go there anymore. (1x) Hear the pool service burger is ok.
google avatar

YelpIsExtortion N S.

Yelp
Good: Our waiter was attentive to our needs. The food is delicious. Bad: The food is expensive for what you get. Remember, this is a hotel restaurant. Our waiter keeps telling us to order more, little did i know that the food is on the smaller side. Be warned: there is an ADDED 18% service charge added to your bill, this is in addition to "tip". if you decide to dine into this restaurant. Didnt mind it because our waiter was attentive and informative. Pls be advised.
google avatar

Regina M.

Yelp
Unreal!! Had an incredible meal on a rainy day and I will be going back whenever I need Cuban food! I got the lechón asado and tostones. It was amazing
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
It's a hotel restaurant, but the food was great. We both had the fish, it was simply but expertly prepared. Definitely a great meal!
google avatar

Max W.

Yelp
Food was great, but the service was awful. We had to ask to order our entrees three times over the course of ten minutes, after we had already been waiting for ten minutes. With great service this restaurant could be fantastic.
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Visited cana for my first time yesterday to try out their Miami Spice dinner menu. I was very impressed on how authentic this cuban restaurant was! Everything was extremely delicious and worth the price. I got an appetizer (conch fritters), entree (shrimp with white rice and black beans), and dessert (flan). On top of that their was a wine of glass included which hit the spot! The conch fritters were amazing and crispy! The sauce served on the side added that extra kick and flavor. The shrimp was also crispy and buttery to my liking and mixed with the rice and beans really made it feel like a home cooked meal. Lastly, the flan was up to par to my expectations. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Aside, from trying to find a place to park Caña was excellent. It took 15 minutes to find a place park that was close to the restaurant. We order appetizers to start; Yuca and Maduros. Both we very tasty, especially the Maduros very fresh. We ordered 3 main courses to share. PESCADO ENTERO A LA PLANCHA, LECHON ASADO, and CHURRASCO. The Pescado was well seasoned and was very lightly cooked - the kale underneath the fish was excellent touch very tasty and flavorful. The Lechon ASADO was the best of three - it fell apart with a fork. Had some good falvors. The CHURRASCO was cooked as we told them - should have mad medium rare instead of medium but still flavorful. The ambiance was nice - could have done without the louder than normal music. The table setting were very appropiate for the ambiance. The service was excellent - super nice all around very pleasant and thoughtful. Would have given it 5 star if we did not have to drive around to find parking and the music a little softer, but the food was excellent.

Yelp
Excellent food options and the quality of food. Everything was so good and has huge selection of food. The menu looked so wonderful. They have good quality of food options. The fresh quality food was great. If you are vegan, this place is nice spot. They served excellent vegan food. Excellent place and nice setting.

Briana G.

Yelp
We stayed at the Hyatt for the weekend and had breakfast at Cana both days. The service was terrible both days. The first day we waited over 20 mins just for water and someone to come take our order. We thought they forgot about us because we were sitting outside. Well, The second day we sat inside and they forgot our coffee. We asked three separate waiters for our coffee because our waitress was MIA. They finally brought us our coffee once we finished breakfast. There were no more than 5 other tables there both days so you can't even blame it on being busy. We won't be going back.

Yelp
Cana I visited Caña Restaurant in Brickell to try out their Miami Spice offering. The restaurant is located inside the Hyatt Centric hotel in Brickell, on the second floor. It has a modern/contemporary ambiance and decor. With colorful murals, that show that this is a Caribbean cuisine spot. I don't believe there are many Cuban/Caribbean restaurants in the area. So it is nice to see that this place is there. For our appetizer we ordered the Camarones Rebosados and the Guava Burrata. Both very good tasting and served with cuban bread toasts. For Entrees we had the grilled fish and the Cubano sandwich, which I have to say is a must to order. For dessert we got Flan. Overall the food is authentic Cuban, traditional but with a little upscale twist. Would definitely visit again.

Yelp
I was in town for a conference and several of us decided to go to dinner. I was looking for tacos but the place I wanted only had a table at 9:00 pm. So I looked for other places near me. I saw Caña and looked at the menu. They had a Miami Spice menu, which me coming from Southern California didn't know about. It is selected items; appetizer, meal, and dessert for a set price. Our server was Daniel, who is so friendly, professional, and ready with suggestions. He is also funny and witty. He suggested a freshly made lemonade with strawberries. It was delicious!!! I ordered as my appetizer, Vieras en Mojo Negro - Pan-seared scallops, black mojo, peppers, onions, tomato, truffle oil, and herbs. For my entree, I ordered Pescado a la Plancha - Grilled fish fillet, garlic, onions, lemon, butter, and fresh herbs. The dessert is the chef's choice and on the night we dined it was Mousse de Chocolate. I had a Cortadito, basically, an espresso shot with milk. I don't do milk but they had almond milk. The price for the dinner is $45, plus whatever drinks you have. I would REALLY recommend Caña. The atmosphere, the food, and the service are for sure five stars. If you can ask for Daniel tell him Daniel from SoCal sent you!

Yelp
I was staying at the Hyatt Centric on Brickell Bay Road and decided to try their Cuban restaurant Cana. All i can say is WOW! Upon exiting the elevators, you enter a very chic establishment. They have indoor or outdoor seating which is nice. The bar is in the center. It the perfect size. They have big windows and a selection of booth and tables. I actually dined there twice. Once for lunch where i had the power lunch for $12. I got the fish, beans and rice with a soft drink for $12. That was an insanely low price for this lunch. The fish was grouper and it was cooked to perfection with a lemon butter and caper sauce. My mouth was singing! The service was good. Each server is really busy but you should expect that and appreciate them just being there. I went a second time for dinner and ordered the dinner portion $32. I ate every bite! They can cook fish so well and this time i tried the flan dessert. It was mouth watering and very authentic. I plan on visiting Miami often and will return whether i stay at The Hyatt Centric or not. Thumbs up for delicious food and great service.

Yelp
I came here for date night with my husband. Really nice restaurant with a unique menu. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu which was totally worth it, it came with an appetizer, entree, dessert and wine. We were starving after our flight and this was our first meal. I accidentally deleted the photos of our food! The burrata with guyaba was absolutely delicious! What a great combination of flavors! My husband had the pork and I had the fish. Everything was flavored wonderfully! I highly recommend this restaurant!
