My wife and I love the entire area. There are many wonderful trails to hike and several good restaurants. The scenery is beautiful.

Took the chairlift at the ski resort to peak, 4,000 ft elevation and amazing views of autumn colors. $25 for whole family, great deal.

I am absolutely in love with this place. We're trying to move there. I'm from Elkins, but never felt more at home than I do when I'm in Canaan. It's not a city for sure. You only have a small town or two to get what you need, but it's absolutely worth the travel. There's hiking trails, a public pool, ski resort, wonderful food, boutiques, horseback riding, and so much more to do there.

We traveled over 12 hours by car to get here and it was amazing. The fire pit outside watching the skiers was so relaxing, the slopes were well groomed, the lift lines were SUPER short, and my 3 teens had a blast! Can’t say enough about the food and drinks in the little watering hole closest to the slopes. I can’t remember it’s name right now, but it was definitely hopping with a fun family vibe. Great staff, great skiing! Yes, Timberline has more slopes and is more updated, but Canaan is still a wonderful place for families to ski. We got college discounts and the teens said they liked it better than Timberline bc there was absolutely zero waiting on the lifts. Ski in, go straight up. Over and over and over. 🎉🎿 No crowds and no danger of being run over by a snowboarder. They got in a full day and we all enjoyed ourselves. Worth the drive! Love you Canaan! What a beautiful valley! Hold your head high, you’ve still got it! 👍🏻

Awesome area for all seasons. Summer hiking in Dolly Sodds and winter fun at the ski area makes this a must if you’re in the area. With skiing and tubing and room for snowboarding too, this is such a great place for any down time you may have. You can rent a cabin and stay the weekend or come up for a day and have the same amount of fun.
