Great park alongside the Grand River. There's a long bike/walking trail through the park, heading into the Sixth St. Park, right after the historic 6th St. Bridge. There's also a medium-size playground with restrooms nearby. Many picnic tables and benches are available throughout, but no pavilion. There's one in the Sixth St. Park though. Both parks have some outdoor exercise equipment as well. Parking is not free during weekdays. Edit: Added pictures.

Lovely green space along the Grand River in the north Monroe neighborhood. Fav walking spot in the city as it connects to so many areas to walk along the river / downtown. Currently under construction as we get a stunning revamp with a pavilion, new playground, greater access to the river etc

Beautiful little park that's a stand-out location against the backdrop of the rest of the city. It has great views of the river, lots of walking paths, simple workout stations scattered about, and a nice little playground for the kids.

This parking area was easy to find, well-lit, and had plenty of space to fit my F350 long bed—the views or plenty, and a great start to the winter fest.

Beautiful park with lots of scenic views of the river and city. Lots of events going on and some good places to grab a bite or drink that share the area. Definitely worth checking out! You will not be disappointed!

Very clean, well-maintained park with a gorgeous view of the river and the 6th St Bridge.

This park was beautiful and peaceful but the edges of some of the waterfront areas needs attention. There are restaurants around to eat at and this park also has a restroom area as well as handicap parking. Also there are exercise equipment throughout the park. Enjoyed my time here and highly recommend this park.

Yelp
The part of the park we were on was on the water and had a single playground. The structure was okay, but some of it was damage and the kids actually had more fun smashing acorns with rocks and trying to feed them to a squirrel. I walked down to the bridge, which was interesting. Along the way was a welcome tent, which I figured out afterwards was for you to eat at after purchasing food/beer from across the street.

Yelp
Small but pretty! We stopped quickly for our son to fish while visiting Grand Rapids. Quiet and more of a shore line a playground.

Yelp
During our stay in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we were driving around exploring the town, and stumbled across this beautiful park. Stopped by for enjoying the view from the Grand River, and eat our prepackaged breakfast from our hotel. Canal Park is a great place to enjoy your walk with a beautiful view. The sidewalks have clear views of the river. Lots of benches for sitting and relaxing. Lots of trees, real grasses and wild flowers! There are plenty of places to do exercises here with some built in equipment. Restrooms were very clean! They had plenty of toilet paper, seat covers, soap, hand sanitizers, air driers and paper towels! Parking lot is along the side of the park, equipped with a meter.
