CANCHITA - Peruvian Cuisine

Great food, casual atmosphere in Dempsey. The octopus a la brasa is divine and tender - a must order. The seafood rice was loaded with squid, ?oysters (I think), fish and prawn - but I didn’t really find the dish to be a standout. It just tasted strongly of tomato puree, lime and cheese - rather one dimensional. The fish tacos are always great - simple and everything you’d expect from fish tacos. The ceviche classico was delicious and refreshing We additionally got the soursop and coconut sorbet - not too sweet and very creamy and refreshing One of the best restaurants in Dempsey

We searched for a Peruvian restaurant to try before our trip to Cusco. Two of us really enjoyed the Octopus a la Brasa and Arroz con Mariscos, which we felt were the standout dishes of the meal. Another friend loved the Ceviche Clásico, as it reminded him of a familiar taste he had missed for a long time. The lomo saltado, however, did not quite meet our expectations, as the beef was a bit tough. That said, we would still come back to try other dishes.

Awesome peruvian restro. A friend who met the chef in a Taiwan food fair told me about this restro. We had ceviche, seafood risotto, and cantonese beef, as well as a coconut dessert. Everything was amazing especially the ceviche and risotto. 10 out of 10 service and environment as well. Everyone was very helpful and very nice ambience. Will come back again!

Interesting Peruvian restaurant! The setting is charming and close to nature. Outdoor seating is pet friendly, which makes for a relaxing experience. This is a great spot if you are looking to try a different kind of cuisine. The menu offers many unique dishes. Some are quite salty, and others use distinctive condiments, so be ready for bold flavors. The tacos are especially worth trying. Service is average and not particularly impressive, but the overall experience is still enjoyable. A nice place to explore something new.

Our new favourite spot in Dempsey! Canchita is an absolute gem — stunning ambience, warm service, and truly exceptional food. We had the Lomo Saltado (stir-fried wagyu beef), Peruvian Prawn Bisque Pasta, Green Plantain Crackers with Guacamole, and a tomato pasta for our son — every dish was incredible. The flavours were fresh, balanced, and beautifully presented. A perfect mix of great vibe, top-notch food, and genuine hospitality. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Maybe our 10th visit since its inception. It used to be great but now just ok. Service was patchy. Order was mixed up. We ordered the duck confit arroyoz but another dish came and our arriyoz was cancelled. The classic on menu dishes were much better than the seasonal menu. The new year lechon tasted good but the presentation seemed like the 10 dollar roast pork dish in a food court and 66 dollars I have some expections as to portion and presentation. Of the lot we liked the Nikkei Tuna (which had slightly too much soy sauce flavouring without balancing out with other seasonings but still good!) and asparagus. I somehow recall lomo saltado to have fries served on the side. The sauces on the fries caused it to be too soggy. Please also do serve the sours back in a martini glass. A half portion in a sangria glass just does not stay cold enough to finish. I would normally have 2 sours but this time, even the first did not get finished as it was too much and got too warm. Overall it was great but not wow. I would not bring someone here to impress.

It was such an awesome dining experience here - the delectable food, the vibrant atmosphere to the friendly service crew. The dishes we had are truly fabulous. Singapore is undoubtedly a food paradise, proving there is no need to travel far for an authentic taste of Peruvian cuisine. Reservations are definitely required and the restaurant was completely full when we visited on a Friday evening.

It was out of expectations! The octopus is very soft & its a must to match with the sauce, which makes the taste to whole new level. The tacos are nice too, but if you are low tolerance for spicy. Better watch out 🤣 This is the place that I will definitely go again.

I would give this place a 5 for its vibe and friendly staff! Beautiful decor - fun place to hang out with friends. The seafood was not as fresh as I would get in California but the mango/passion fruit flavor hit the tropical spot for me. I enjoyed their tamarindo margarita!

Came here for a friends birthday dinner. It was a special prix fix menu and everything was delicious. Portions were big too and we struggled to finish our food. My favorite was the tostada Marina that comes served with Uni and scallops on a crispy corn tortilla. So delicious! The braised beef cheeks was super tender and juicy as well. Service was decent and the restaurant was lively, though not too loud for a nice dinner with a group of friends.

The food was great, however the service was typically Singaporean. An initial contract was rude and unfortunately classist then overly polite waiter trying to compensate. Generally the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant only spoiled by the service.

Traditional Ceviche the star for sure. Dessert however was a miss. A tad too sweet.
