Cancun Grill

We just found our new favorite Mexican spot—Cancun Grill! The service was excellent, and the food somehow managed to be even better. Drinks were not only well made but also very reasonably priced. A standout dish for us was the Chicharrón de Cerdo Guacamole—absolutely to die for! The combination of creamy guacamole and crispy pork was spot on. Our daughter loved her kid’s steak, and the tacos tasted truly authentic—nothing like the fast food versions you find elsewhere. We’re already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. Highly recommend!

the food was okay. chips salsa and guacamole were delicious and so is the rice. but the main course are okay.. i ordered the burrito, it was a huge soggy mess. soggy tortilla with just beans and chicken inside. also ordered the birria fries another big soggy mess way to much cheese and way too little fries. the waiter was super nice and the atmosphere is very comforting though.

This place is a good place to go and eat. They’re super fast. They attend you with kindness and they’re on top of their work and they make sure you’re not empty on anything. I recommend this restaurant to anyone and the food is awesome.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, however my first experience did not go well. The service was average and food was not good for the price I paid. My medium steak was flavorless and burnt. Couldn't finish it. I will say their margaritas were great and my GF loved the Birria tacos!

I Couldn’t wait to get home to write this review. As soon as we sat down we were brought chips and salsa which helped combat our hunger immediately! Sergio was one of the best servers we’ve had in a very long time, you can tell He always works very hard and cares about all his customers. Everything from the soda to the dessert was amazing. Don’t think about it twice you need to come down here and try this Food immediately. Everything tastes fresh and had a lot of flavor. They say this is Tex-Mex but im convinced they have some abuelita making the food in the back. We can’t wait to go with friends and family! Thank you so much for making our night.

Been a while since I've been back to Cancun in Miami Lakes. Was a busy Saturday, although they took us to our table only to find out the table wasn't clean. So we waited like 5-10 minutes. Food was ok. Atmosphere is very loud inside.

Absolutely fantastic experience at this Mexican restaurant in Miami! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was vibrant and welcoming. The food was nothing short of spectacular, with every dish bursting with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. Our server, Alfredo, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure our dining experience was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving delicious Mexican cuisine. Five stars all the way!

I went last week with a group of friends and we didn't have to wait to be seated. My server was awsome and friendly. They have Mariachis playing but we didn't catch them. Overall; we had a great time and food was fantastic.

I've been coming here for many years with my family. We love coming here for the ambiance. It's very good for groups and birthday dinners. The food is great. The fajitas were fantastic. My husband and I shared the steak and chicken fajitas for two. Each of us were able to make 3 tacos each. It was plenty of food for 2 people and gave us enough to take home leftovers. The service was great. We sat by the bar and were able to watch a soccer game on the tv. Had a few drinks. The spicy margarita was great! Love coming to this place!

Have been to much better Mexican restaurants. Had to stop here in between jobs. The food came out quickly; a little too quickly whichtells me that it might have already been made and just needed reheating. This seemed a bit odd to me. The burrito was lackluster. Its presentation was "meh" and its flavor was ok. Chicken seemed to have no seasoning and to have been overcooked. Nothing great to write home about here. The biggest problem I had with the place is the noise. It is far too loud and voices are just bouncing off walls and echoing throughout. On the positive side, wait staff is very attentive and very helpful. They help each out and that's a nice thing to see.

Great place for some Mexican food! Service was lovely and quick! Food was made to order and they have a little bit of everything for anyone. Atmosphere is very joyful and fun especially when they sing you or a loved one happy birthday haha. Our waitress Alejandra was the sweetest, she was very attentive and any questions we had she would answer (: Highly recommend to visit!

First time coming here wanted to try something new with a friend while I was in the area. This place was one of the best Mexican restaurants that I've been too in the state of Florida. We had no issues getting seats, the drinks were really well made top shelf quality that definitely packed a bunch. Great taco sampler too, that I couldn't even make room to finish it all! Very friendly service, great experience that I would happily come back too!

It is what it is! An amazing Mexican spot in the Northwest Miami area! I've been going here for a number of years - my ex boss introduced it to me as a quick spot for lunch. It is a sit down restaurant with great prices. It isn't fancy but it is totally clean. They have a pretty broad menu. It is also one of the only spots that I can find in South Florida that serves Mole Chicken - the one made with cocoa sauce. They give you free appetizers of chips and salsa -- and they are happy to replenish it! Their meals are enough to take home an extra serving. Oh and they sing a great Mexican version of Happy Birthday if you are celebrating We will always go back!!

THE PLACE: Cancun grill has been a staple restaurant since my childhood, so ive seen this establishment change throughout the years- always for the good. However, their most recent renovation (not sure when it was done) has really damped the atmosphere of this restaurant. It used to be colorful, inviting, charming with all of their vivid colors, textures and lighting. This time around I found that the restaurant was renovated sadly now has typical white and gray color scheme. It no longer feels welcoming or joyful. It's previous interior design was definitely the "attractive" part of the restaurant. THE FOOD: Overall, the food was good. I have never been a fan of the food here previously, but I found that the food this time around had a greatly improved. The chips we're hot, fresh, crisp and the salsa was to die for. I ordered the birria quesadillas 4/5 thick, juicy and flavorful. My sis in law ordered the birria tacos 4/5 which she liked.My fiance had the Pescado Marinero 3/5 which was good, however the shrimp still had the tail shell on it while being covered (hidden) under sauce. THE SERVICE: Fantastic! "Sergio" was our waiter.

Went to lunch with the family here over the weekend. Service was fast and attentive , food was delicious . Margaritas are a must have make sure you order it. Chips and salsa was extremely fresh and delicious

Came here for Happy Hour with my coworkers and it was great! The small margaritas were buy one get one free or the medium margaritas was 1 for the price of 1 small margarita. It was a great deal! The flavors to choose from were super yummy and the drinks were strong. I absolutely loved the food here. I did not leave a single thing left on my plate. Delicious! The restaurant is cute and has great music. The service was a little slow but we were a large group so I understand. Would come back!

Came here to celebrate a family member's birthday. We made reservations over the phone. We were seated quickly. The location was nice and clean so where their bathrooms staff was attentive. I ordered a margarita during a happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 PM. The margarita is so good I promise you also, I have the tacos which were delicious and their guacamole and salsa is fire.

the food is good i'll give them that but they always get the order wrong. this time my fork was wrapped dirty.

My birria tacos were excellent. The carne asada dishes all had some meat that was just not fresh tasting. The chips, salsa, tortillas and guacamole all tasted fresh. The margarita was wonderful. The service was impeccable. It's too bad as I really liked the ambiance and service.

First time here, the place was ok, good service and decent food, needed a little more flavor though. The local wasn't too crowded when we got there and we were seated immediately and it wasn't too loud. Overall, it was a nice chill experience.

This place was fantastic. We asked a local where we could get some great food with music. We walked in about 8:30 it was packed. Live music, people were laughing, cleaned plates on tables so it looked like a good sign. We got a table in under 15 minutes. Then we ordered drinks that were good and the food was authentic and so so delicious. Highly recommend.

I've been coming here since i was a kid tagging along with my parents. This is a staple in the Miami lakes community and I even have friends that come here to eat when they are in town. Food is authentic yet creative. Their margaritas are strong and the atmosphere is fun and lively. Service is always on point!

It doesn't matter how much time passes from each visit because this place is always on point. Great ambience and beautiful place. The food never disappoints. It's always so delusions. Fresh, the seasoning is perfect and it doesn't deviate from the flavors that have kept us coming back time and time again. This place is always packed. So get there early. Once in and sitting the service is great. Our server was very attentive to us and the other tables around us. Support Local.

This restaurant was so fun and the food was so filling! We ordered the tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, chips and guacamole and fried ice cream and everything was amazing. The chips and guac were super fresh and the chips were constantly refilled. I myself ordered the carne asada tacos and they were amazing, they also came with a a side of rice and beans. For dessert we ordered fried ice cream and this is definitely shareable dessert, we shared between the 5 of us and there was still some leftover. They have live mariachi that walk around and serenade the tables. We were able to have the staff sing happy birthday, it was great. Expect a LOUD lunch/dinner! Super fun for groups and special events.

The food was great. I didn't take photos this time but I will my next time in the area. The service was great as well! We were there for about 6 hours and the music and staff were great. Not too busy and were rained in, which called for another pitcher of Toro Loco!!

Had the guacamole, shrimp quesadillas, sweet corn tamales, and the house margs. The service was outstanding and very attentive. The ambiance was wanting; extremely loud and not good for a conversation. It's as if everyone was screaming at each other to be heard. The guacamole was very good and the hot sauce they have on the table was a great addition to give that extra kick. The sweet corn tamales were okay. I would probably leave those as a dessert option; no meat or anything inside like other tamales in the area. The margaritas were passable. I would probably opt for a Cadillac margarita next time. The standout were the quesadillas. We originally just ordered one, but after the first bite, we ordered another one post haste! We frequent this place, especially for birthdays. Their burritos, chimichangas and other dishes are pretty good. Those quesadillas though are fire! Buen probecho!!! Went back again last night 4/16. We each had the shrimp quesadilla and another round of guacamole. Phenomenal!! We also had the Cadillac Margaritas. These were the margaritas we were waiting for!!!

San to say that this restaurant has lost all quality, I went there after maybe 2 years, my expectations were high from my prior experiences, the server was good , he did his best , but the food was the lowest quality, the meat was hard and dry , could not eat, and on the rest no taste at all. Only drinks were good. Is a crowded place , it's been always like that , but at least you can ignore that if you have good food on your table. Not going back

Good waiter attend to our needs and requests during my relative Birthday party. The food was delicious I recommend the seafood fajita Platter. You also get free chips with the side sauce. Which was very tasty and the sauce pretty spicy. It was a good experience I would recommend coming here again

Walked in and the entrance smelled like vomit. Thought it was just the front and when we were seated it ended up being the entire restaurant. I walked out of the restaurant after being given a menu from how bad it smelled. How were there people there still eating enjoying the smell of vomit?

Cancun Grill has been an institution in Miami Lakes for decades but my last visits have left me wanting more. The decoration on the interior has become completely lackluster and has lost the intimate and welcoming Mexican aesthetic that I remember from going to the restaurant as a teenager. The drink menu had a large portion of the lettering erased and completely illegible. The food was ok, my sister had the Birria tacos and she enjoyed them as they were fresh and savory, we also ordered the Birria Quesadilla and it was savory and freshly made. I opted to get the Pescado Marinero which was Mahi Mahi with shrimp and jalapeños, mushrooms, salad and rice. The salad and rice were good but nothing out of this world and the shrimp had the tales on them which would be fine if it wasn't already under a layer of cheese, mushroom, and Jalapeños. Our server was helpful and very attentive which definitely made up in the areas where the restaurant fell short. Overall, I'd love to return to Cancun Grill but the interior decoration of the restaurant needs to improve and the food needs to get back to its roots and provide the nostalgia that so many have for this restaurant.

I've been coming to Cancun since I 6 was years old with my parents and this is a spot I recommend to my friends & when I want some delicious Mexican local food! I thought it was time to leave a review. Cancun has amazing service. The waiters there are very attentive and kind and will always cater to what you need. The ambiance is always friendly & welcoming. Their birthday surprises never fails to actually surprise me! Lol the frozen margaritas (mango) are bomb and my go to! The fajitas are so good and alwaysq Aw fresh. The cinco de mayo ceviche is my parents fave and the steak nachos are always a good! Overall, love this place!

Nice tex mex, the service is good and the food is tasty and they serve very generous portions. The ambiance is laid back, nothing fancy but enough to have fun. I recommend for a family meet but not a date.

This place has been our family's go to for years! Great food, great drinks and the best part of it all is that they're consistent. The service here is also phenomenal, never had any issues. Whether it's dining in or taking it to go... the food and quality doesn't disappoint. I had the Chicken Chimichanga in all its fried goodness! Great amount of rice, beans, chicken, etc. it's a big portion so you really do get your money's worth and leave satisfied. I wasn't able to eat it all and saved it for later. SN: It really gets busy here on weekends so be mindful if there's a wait time and great ready to indulge.

I was there this evening. Upon getting there, there was a large crowd waiting outside to be seated. I thought two things, it must be really good and we are going to have long wait. We were seated immediately. The place was full. We had not gone for quite some time since it is somewhat out of the way for us. We ordered piñata salad and combo fajitas. We also had a passion fruit margarita. Prices have gone up significantly since previous visit. The food did not disappoint. The service was pretty good too. The tortillas were fresh (made in front of us). All in all it was a pleasant experience. If anything, the mariachis were too loud. It was best when they were singing away from us.

We were craving Mexican food on this rainy day. Went to Cancun grill to munch on some goodies. We were seated under a speaker that was blasting Bad Bunny so I requested to be moved. The water boy even lowered the music, thanks to him I thought everything would flow good but then...we sat waiting for a waiter for about 20 minutes. My husband had to get up and ask the host to send someone to our table to take our order. As we sat there waiting for our food, I was facing the individual making the fresh tortillas and her helper, the avocado pregnant female. Well, I was so disgusted and disappointed they both were not wearing gloves to handle the raw materials to make the tortillas. The avocado lady was digging her pinky nail into her teeth removing whatever she had stuck and didn't even bother washing her hands. The food was okay. It's been better. The pork tacos that I ordered were very dry. I got very little beans. Overall it was ok but I guess anything goes as long as they think we didn't see them. We will not be going back. Have some decent work ethic and respect. Yuck

Been coming here for yearssssss! Amazing food & Margaritas you can't compare with anywhere else! Wonderful service and ambiance. Mariachis are usually there on the weekends. Parking is a little tight.

I'm generously giving a 5 star rating. We have been going to a Mexican restaurant off of 163rd since Cancun is too busy and the parking is a challenge. However during COVID we ordered for pickup and decided to do the same tonight. The first call in did not go well because whoever picked up the phone wanted my husband to speak Spanish and apparently dropped the call when he didn't. He called back again and ended up having to give the order in Spanglish and pray. The order was correct. I understand that food costs have risen but $24 for aside of guacamole? The other food prices were high as well. The food is quite simply delicious. The guacamole was chunky and flavorful! The vegetable quesadilla was delicious and well balanced. It was a balance of spinach, onion, mushroom and green pepper. The fried rice was good and so were the refried beans. Always plenty of chips! Food was expensive but because it was so satisfying, I had to give it 5 stars.

Tried this place for the first and would never come back again for a Mexican restaurant they need to do better especially with the tacos they can use a bit more flavor only good thing was the ceviche and the tostada lets talk about how it came to get our bill on the menu it says for a group of 6 or more gratuity will be added keep in mind we were only a group of 4 the server added whatever amount he wanted on our bill and we asked other servers they said gratuity wasn't included so what made the server do that to us also me and my 3 other friends are servers and one is manger we work in the industry so we know how these things go and operate because of this we will not be returning ever again the issue isn't about the tip/gratuity it's the respect and principle of it we would have gladly gave the server a huge tip due to us being in the industry and understanding how tip work but for the server to just add whatever he wanted to our bill and then lie in our face and say it's automatically included when on the menu it says something different not only that but also other Servers that we asked that was working that night said jt wasn't included so he lied and that's totally disrespectful

Horrendous! I really don't know how this place is in business. We went last week and the food was absolutely atrocious. The meat had no flavor and was over cooked, completely dry (we had chicken, beef and shrimp). This is the second time we tried them out within a year and recall the first time it being mediocre. The fries were over cooked and stale. I will say the drinks were strong. The complementary chips were so bad, stale and over fried. Such a disappointment in this establishment. TacoBell is better. I would not recommend, even the cooks in the back don't eat their own food as we saw them back there eating McDonalds!

Here's a hometown spot that deserves an upgrade! For a couple of recent Taco Tuesday's during the time of the 'Rona I've been coming here after work to get my to-go Tex Mex fix. I've enjoyed both their burritos and fajitas; both have been generous portions and really flavorful. Their pico de gallo has a nice kick and the chips crispy and better than my first visit. Service has been attentive, with my food ready at the time promised. During tonight's pickup I saw their Mariachi band outside and learned that next week when the county is allowing restaurants to reopen they'll have some tables outside to maintain capacity as well have the band. I look forward to that!

This will be short and not so sweet. Food is greasy. Service is mediocre at best. Been here twice now and that's it for me. I'll never return. It's a shame too, because its a nice large space and I absolutely adore Mexican cuisine but this place completely misses the mark on quality.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could! It is one of the few restaurants in Miami that I keep coming back to and am always so happy and full. Drinks are amazing - actually strong. And the food quality is just sooooo good!!! Look - it's not authentic Mexican - it's in Miami lakes ! But it's the perfect Cuban style Mexican restaurant ever. Must things to always get : guacamole, rose margaritas (has actual rose petals), queso fundillo with shrimp (this is an absolute must if you love cheese), and the pulpo ceviche. Omg this place just makes me so happy. And they love birthdays with fancy hats!!!

I frequent this Cancun Grille location and the food and have always been average, really nothing super special. Having been to this particular location often, I'm aware of their policy regarding parties of 6 or more including gratuity. Being a server myself, I always tend to leave a little bit more because I understand the struggles we go through in this business. Today, however, my friends and I went to celebrate a birthday. When we got the bill, we noticed that the tip was already included despite us only having 4 people in our party. We asked our server, Guillermo, regarding this and he told us that they've always added gratuity to the checks, which is simply not true. I'm not sure why Guillermo decided to add gratuity to our party of 4, maybe because we're young and he felt like we weren't going to tip? Maybe because we had dark skinned people in our party? I'm not sure. Regardless, as a server, he lost out on more money by adding tip to our party. As a person, I feel extremely disrespected. His reasonings for doing so are unknown but completely uncalled for, regardless. Shame on Guillermo and shame on Cancun for allowing this to occur. ---- Frecuento esta ubicación de Cancún Grille y la comida y siempre he sido promedio, realmente nada súper especial. I love this place. Last time I went a waiter even took a phenomenal picture of me and my family. The food was delicious and the staff is extremely nice. There is even a chip guy who runs to your table if you're running out of chips. I like to call him the Chip God because it's as if God sent him from the heavens above to bring me my chips. 10/10

This is our second time here and I'm still loving it, the service is great and the food is always delicious, they bring you fresh chips and sauce and our waiter was constantly checking up on us to see if we were doing okay. The restaurant was very cleaned and I've always loved their decoration. Their guacamole is TO DIE FOR, one of my faves in Miami (Get the rib eye guac, thank me later.) I got the carnitas and loved the flavor of the beans and meat but the rice was missing seasoning. My boyfriend got tacos and they were delicious. This is definitely a place you would want to visit.

I have been coming to Cancun for years and I can say the service has definitely changed! Our server was not attentive at all, we came here on Mother's Day so it was fairly busy but that's no excuse for the fact that we waited 40 minutes for our drinks. We didn't order any food due to our sever taking forever to bring us menus so we all had one drink and left. I rated it 3 stars because the drinks was soooooo good, and the place has potential I just got a bad server that day!

It is a norm now in these days for restaurants to struggle with the pandemic bd staff shortages. It this is an Iconic restaurant and with a reputation based on its food and ambiance, always good here. Came back now was shocked to see the place was changed again. A facelift ok but don't change the food ! I mean raise prices on items affected w economy but the food was changed ! I ordered a pitcher of Margarita it was sting but not a drop of flavor?! This is a place that had the best margarita mix. I ordered a Chimichanga and I got a burrito ?! It wasn't deep fried or even close to being fried . And the food came out in minutes? The flavor bland at best some cheese sauce on it that should be optional. The fajitas had rubbery I mean rubber chicken. Sign of stale chicken . My. Chimichanga came w no refried beans just sour cream and salad . The portions are smaller what a disgrace . Won't be coming back. Ps : they repaired the toilet n bathrooms and to the worst amazement my wife came back to tell me they have portopatti to pee in really? Pss waiter missing in action bad service wow

This review is for can cun in doral. What an amazing place to eat at. The food was outstanding. I had the steak fajitas. So delicious! And our bartender (Johannis) was amazing! Top tier service. She told us about can cun' top selling menu items along with her personal favs. She recommended the fajitas and she did not disappoint! Definitely going back soon

We came here with a Mexican craving. The gauc was delicious this time around! Service was friendly and fast. I had. Margarita on the rocks and my husband had a frozen. It was more of a slush. He had the fajitas and say they were good. I had the 3 tacos. I mixed it up and had 1 each of chicken, beef and shrimp. The chicken had zero flavor and the shrimp were the tiny shrimp that are the frozen . Not impressed! The best thing of this meal was the chips and guacamole.
