Candela Cuban Cafe

My expectations of a Cuban sandwich shop is a nice pan con mantequilla with a good size bread gently pressed on the blancha. This was half the size of what I usually get from other Cuban sandwich shops and smashed too much. The Lechon Sandwich bread was way bigger and was pressed on the blancha perfectly but the Lechon was seasoned like you guys were holding back. The cafe con leche was ok. This was a takeout order so I'm not sure about the dine in experience and I don't think I ever will experience it due to the experience with the takeout side

I had an amazing experience at this Cuban restaurant! I tried several dishes — the empanadas de pollo, lechón, and ropa vieja — and every single one was delicious. We also ordered the Cuban sandwich, which was perfectly made and full of flavor. I even tasted the pastelito de guayaba, and it was so good! The prices are great, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the overall vibe made the meal even better. Our server, Leah, was truly the life of the party. Her energy and fun personality made our visit unforgettable. Highly recommend — can’t wait to go back!

From awesome cleanliness to the great customer service and friendly detail attention, The food !! OMG.... Mouth Watering and Awesome sandwiches, Platillos with rice and meats, combos, desserts, soups, and much more. Delicious, Good, Beautiful in flavor, Nice & Hot, soft bread, and the taste is endless. This place has FANTASTIC FOOD! Great prices! And best of all a wonderful staff! They're so friendly and attentive! Before we had Ana and today me and my family were served by the upbeat and energetic and extremely friendly LIA! She was awesome! And her English was AMAZING! Lia mentioned that some folks said didn't like her English. No, no, Lia you speak very, very well! Much better than my Spanish. lol. Thank you Lia for a beautiful evening!

We had been waiting excitedly for Candela Cuban Cafe to officially open, and were finally able to try it out today. We had the cubano, ropa vieja, yuca fries, and café con leche - everything was delicious! We are so happy to have this new cafe in the neighborhood!

CUBAN FOOD IS MAKING A COMEBACK IN CHICAGO! Great Coffee, Fresh Pastelillos de Guayaba and Friendly service. Try the Plato Guajiro! Sooo GOOD. The last couple of years have been touch and go for Cuban spots in Chicago. This place is definitely on the right track. I will be back. My suggestions: the funeral music was killing me and pull back on the salt just a bit.

considering the price for a classic steak sandwich they should have more meat, almost $30 for 2 classic steak sandwiches w cheese with a single piece of meat that was very fatty. I'll stick with bias Mariano from no on.

Food was delicious! I have been visiting Candela for the past month and the food has been on point. I definitely recommend going for their for dinner menu for lunch. However, you can also go for their sandwiches.
