Lovely summer terrasse in St Gall Totally charming and smiling service Very tasty and well prepared gazpacho with a sorbet inside The Zurich style veal with rosti was mainly a miss ..lots of cream, not much veal ..average rosti ( maybe not the best choice /order) Nice wine by the glass (My) bad luck with my dish ..I would still recommend ..

Excellent food and service! Highly recommend

We went here with group of colleagues after class. The food is well presented and tasty. We had fried tofu and slightly grilled tuna. The tofu is crispy and tuna is well cooked! The price is slightly expensive but fair in Switzerland.

One of the best food in town! Super friendly stuff and warm atmosphere. We ate vegetarian and didn't drink any wine but the wine service at the table next to us looked great! We loved it!!

I didn’t understand why Michelin included them to guide. We ate tartar and 2 dishes from main course, but they wasn’t so tasty. Price doesn’t matter, we expected quality of food and tasty. But something went wrong. Atmosphere: we were alone in the main hall.

For overall food quality and experience Candela came out slightly above Restaurant Zum Goldenen Schäfli. It was very close though. The service at Schafli was definitely better, as the service at Candela was not consistent. I think some of the staff liked our dog, while others snubbed us for her. Although, there were 3 other dogs in the restaurant as well. One staff member even offered to bring out water for our pup. The restaurant space is open, modern, with hints of romantic night out. Definitely book in advance as all the tables were booked, and they were turning many people away. The menu offers veggie, meat, and fish options. They also have a nice wine selection to choose from. While the reviews for this place lean heavily towards the strength of there meat, we ordered completely opposite items. For starters, I chose the scallops and my husband the beef carpaccio. The scallops melted in my mouth, and are the best scallops I have had next to the scallops at my favourite Seafood restaurant Seastar back home in Seattle, WA. My husbands carpaccio was also an artistic masterpiece, and tasted as divine as it looked. Next, I ordered the veggie risotto and my husband ordered a fish fillet. It's hard to get good fish in Switzerland, and is a good test of a restaurant. The fish was perfect, and the risotto amazing. We weren't originally going to get dessert, but had seen people getting this iced coffee drink that looked amazing. We spoke to the server about the desserts and she said the house maid iced coffee was a favourite, so we tried it. It's definitely not to be missed. Overall a wonderful dinning experience, and if you only had one dinner in St. Gallen, I would recommend this place.
