A must-visit, locally owned Abilene business! The staff are wonderfully helpful, and because I was interested, they shared the story of the two Greek brothers who started the business over 100 years ago. I came in because of the white chocolate covered grapes, and now I have to return for pralines and hand dipped nuts. A wonderful place to visit and buy a gift or a treat for yourself.

This is random Chocolate Factory I saw in downtown Abilene, TX on a business trip. I bought $54 worth of chocolate to take home. We'll wort it! The chocolate is awesome!

Yummy little spot in town. They’ve got a wide variety of truffles, fudge, and many specialty items. They also have a large sugar free section. Staff was super nice. We love that the Easter Bunny statue is outside of it too. We got a couple truffles for $1 each.

5 Stars: A Peck of Fun and a Barrel of Laughs at Candies By Vletas! I meant to post this a couple of months about about Vletas helping us out with a fun gag! If you're looking for a place that pairs delightful sweets with delightful scenes, look no further than Candies By Vletas! Witness a spectacle so hilariously embarrassing, it could only happen in the magical world of confectionery and good-natured pranks. Mitch, the man of the hour, was there in a chicken costume so ludicrously humiliating that it would make a rooster crow in sympathy. The vibrant yellow feathers, the red leggings hugging his legs, and the oversized chicken feet were just the start. The owner, a maestro of mischief, coaxed Mitch into performing the chicken dance. There he was, amidst the chocolates and giggles of onlookers, flapping and hopping with such comedic gracelessness that it was impossible not to join in the laughter. But the cherry on top? Mitch was sent on a mission across the street, finally answering the age-old question: "Why did the chicken cross the road?" To get to Candies By Vletas, of course, where the treats are sweet, and the laughs are sweeter. Thanks to the staff's playful spirit and the owner's impromptu choreography, Mitch's embarrassment was the secret ingredient in a day filled with joy. So here's to Mitch, for being such a good sport; and to Candies By Vletas, for serving up a dose of hilarity with their heavenly candies. Trust me, their treats—and the memories you'll make—will have you coming back for more! I hear that they would like Mitch to come back again so that he can entertain the store again! I hope that is true!

Candy store with higher than average prices. Mostly locally made candy. Has a selection of peanut brittle, sugar free section, & truffles section. Heavily air conditioner to keep the goods cool. Parking that is accessible. Plenty of tourist stuff within walking distance. The folks behind the desk were quite friendly!

The only one in town and that is all we need. Awesome customer service, great location, and very very clean. My go to chocolate store ❤️.

Always friendly, and you can't find better candy anywhere around. Made in house. Highly recommend. Great for gift giving.

Big sign that says "CHOCOLATE"!???!! you can believe i'm going to see what that is about. Candies by Vletas is a beautiful shop with many choices - all made in house. The staff member was very helpful and gave us a sample! I picked up the chocolate covered peanuts, milk chocolate peanut butter cups, and the milk chocolate fudge. beautiful store and location as well. Definitely stop in here if you go through Abilene!

Hands down the best chocolate store! has amazing chocolate that make the chocolate covered strawberries the best ive had across multiple states. the Customer service is always friendly forever the best place in town to get chocolate treats.

Short form review: Vletas has been an Abilene staple for many many years (apparently established in 1912). It's a fantastic place to get all sorts of chocolates as well as candy. They have the largest selection of sugar-free chocolates that I have ever seen. They all taste wonderful too. From huge chocolate covered strawberries to truffles to fudge, they have you covered. Prices are in line with many other chocolate specialty stores.

Woah so good. Really cute place, nice ladies. I'm pretty picky about my sweets, I like to taste the flavors and not just have sugar overload. Everything here is exceptional. Lemon chocolates- SO lemony Sea salt buttercreams- lovely texture PB crispy rice- these were my favorite, not super sweet Mini PB cups- lots of PB in these guys, loved White chocolate covered grapes- very interesting, never had anything like it. The tart green grapes were so good with the white chocolate. I cannot wait to go back

THE BEST CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES!! Literally the best. Hands-down, no competition they melted in your mouth. Anytime we are traveling from San Antonio to Lubbock. We go a little bit out of our way just to make sure we stop and get these strawberries. I am so happy we found this place. I just wish we lived closer. Such a treat!

Thank you so much! This was a last minute gift and Vletas came through with the save. The presentation is lovely and I appreciate the extra attention placed on the gift bag and wrapping. I had it delivered via Menuhopper and it arrived to the recipient in less than an hour. Will consider purchasing here in the future again.

Great chocolate! Very friendly staff, and tasty food. I couldn't tell the difference between the sugar-free chocolate and the regular chocolate. If you have dietary needs to avoid sugar, you won't miss out on flavor or have strange aftertastes.

Cute little candy store on the downtown area. Good selection of treats, I happened to get some of the chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate peanut butter cups and a chocolate strawberry covered. Everything we got was delicious but I'll admit a little pricey. They had plenty of other candy options that I'm excited about coming back and trying.

The sweets here are amazing. They also have the cutest little gifts for your friends. Great for a birthday gift or something of the sort. Sometimes they don't always have the flavors I'm looking for, and it can be a bit pricy; however, it is very tasty so I'm not complaining too much. I haven't tried too many things there, mainly just the fudge and some chocolate coconut clusters. These are both wonderful choices! I plan to go back soon for a third visit.

I think this place has a lot of potential. We stopped in a couple of months ago, & bought some chocolate salted caramels, cherry cordials, & orange moscato. It was all tasty, but nothing we haven't gotten elsewhere. There was a rather small display; a lot of the shelves were empty, & we weren't greeted when we walked in. I'll have to stop in again & see if anything has changed for the better.

Overpriced, nothing special. I don't know how this place stays in business. Tiny expensive bags. A very unappealing display (just thrown in little plastic bins for people to paw through). I just dont get what all the fuss is about. The candy we got tasted like it was made with cheap waxy chocolate.

The white chocolate caramel popcorn is amazing and so fresh! The lady working the register greeted us right when we walked in the door. She told us a little bit about the place and the history of it, so that was really neat. There's such a wide variety of candies/chocolates, so it was really hard to choose just a couple of treats!

Stopped in for a small treat, the place smelled so amazing when we first walked in. Great selection and very affordable. A must stop with any friends or visiting family.

Very pricey, but the chocolate I got ended up being worth it! EXCELLENT chocolate-covered pecans, and the Peppermint Bark was also delicious. They sold me the best truffles I've had in quite a while, but the chocolate pretzels I go were just fair. (That didn't stop me from devouring them!)

One weakness I have, and I have many is chocolate a candy bar from the Grab & Go on the corner do. Pick up a bag of M&M's with peanuts, Three Musketeers. If you looking for some Fancy candy's Vletas is the place to go. Its been awhile since I've been there. No need to wait for a Holiday to special occasion go get some hand dipped chocolates.

My husband brought home a chocolate covered strawberry from this place. I took a bite and had a moment of silence. THIS IS SO GOOD!!!! He only got ONE so I had to go back to get more! Haha
