Canmore now has a second craft brewery!
Unlike Grizzly Paw, these guys are a little off the beaten path located in a light industrial building (as light industrial as Canmore gets) off Railway Ave. You have to go all the way to the back side of the complex to find them as they face the train tracks, not the street, a couple hundred meters north west of the Safeway if that's a little more familiar for you.
Their tap room is a decent size with 6 or so tables that can seat up to 8 people. There's no seating at the bar, but its wide enough that a few people could help hold it up if the place was crowded and you wanted to stand. There's no outdoor seating.
I first tried CBC's beers about a month ago when I grabbed a couple cans at the Beer Vault in Calgary and I was impressed. I figured I'd stop by this afternoon on my way out to BC to grab a few more, but ended up staying for a flight to give a bunch a try. A flight here is 4 x 4 oz. samples for $10 +tax. I believe they had 6 beers to choose from of which I went with:
Rye IPA (3.5/5)
Trail Hopper Amber (3.75/5)
Georgetown Brown (2.5/5)
Stout (3.0/5)
Also in the tap room there's a fridge filled with their 4-packs of tallboys, a wall of merch that includes the usual stuff like t-shirts, hats, and pint glasses. They also, of course, have growlers or you can bring your own to be filled.
