I'm a little conflicted about this place. The atmosphere is lovely and has a cool, rustic Italian vibe for sure. Multiple areas available for seating, which was nice. The food was good. Steaks were seasoned and cooked well. My pasta dish was very watery but still tasty and fresh. The Tiramisu was an interesting interpretation yet tasty and unique. The issue was with the staff. Lots of loud passive-aggressive exchanges between pretty much all servers. Almost zero team work without catty bickering. Lots of yelling at staff by owner, lol. It was funny and sometimes uncomfortable, especially when you know they are complaining about your tables order. They need Gordan Ramsey to come in and get things in order 🙂.

We have been wanting to try Canneti for some time now and finally went. We had 5:30 reservations and it was one of those cold winter storm nights. When we arrived the restaurant was cold, no fire in the fireplace. The small heater was insufficient for the space. We were alone in the restaurant for over an hour which was actually quite nice but odd. The food was ok but nothing really blew our socks off. We are glad we tried it but won’t be back. Also, several extra fees are advertised on the menu. 5% Back of house fee 3% credit card fee

We visited based on a recommendation but we won’t be returning. We arrived at 5:30 at the start of dinner service and were the only patrons until we left at 6:30. We ordered the mushroom soup shot, focaccia for the table, a tagliatelle with wild boar, and chestnut corkscrews with a mushroom ragout. The soup shot was watery but fine. The focaccia never came. The server brought our mans and we reminded him about it. He said it was still heating up and would be out soon. He went back and brought it out, and it was clear that it had been forgotten about while heating, left too long, and served anyway. It was a small piece, cut into 6 small squares, and it was like eating a crouton. The pastas are made in house, so we were really excited to try those. The wild boar tagliatelle had a sauce that reminded us of cacciatore, so I’d imagine it’s pretty similar to their wild boar cacciatore served over polenta, which we did not order but did consider. This dish was not spectacular, but it was ok. The chestnut corkscrews, however, were not good at all. We actually thought the server had brought he wrong dish, as there we no mushrooms, it had a red sauce that looked an awful like their wild boar one on the tagliatelle, and the pasta definitely was not a corkscrew. Maybe in a past life it had a dream that it was gemelli? I’m not sure, but I know that what we got was a limp and floppy pasta that was not distinguishable from the onions or mushrooms in the dish. The mushrooms all turned out to be hidden at the bottom of the bowl, under the pasta, but it didn’t matter either way because there was no mushroom flavor. All we could taste was a tomato sauce that was nearly identical to the one on the tagliatelle. The mushrooms themselves had a texture that was unrecognizable and extremely off putting. At one point it felt as though I was trying to chew and swallow a wet sponge. We’d planned to order three desserts, but left and got ice cream instead.

Amazing in-house food, cozy jazzy vibes, eclectic decor, and a fabulous wine selection. Chef Francesco is talented, friendly, and passionate—highly recommend

Nice service and nice patio. Worst meal I’ve had in a while - one dish was so salty we couldn’t eat it. We did let the staff know, and they apologized but did nothing else about it. The other dish was heavy and didn’t taste fresh. We spent $100 for one glass of wine each, and two entrees we didn’t eat. This was the second night of our honeymoon and we ended up eating yogurt and granola from Safeway in our hotel for dinner.

I ordered romaine salad with lemon vinaigrette which was delicious. I loved it. I also ordered lasagne. It was good not great. It would've tasted better if it had been served hot. Mine was just warm and cutting into the middle it was barely luke warm. Lasagne, along with all pasta should be served hot. Mine was not. I also ordered the focaccia bread with olive oil which was $5. When served it was slightly warm and a little soft but when no longer warm it became hard as a rock. Not good. I'm Italian and I was disappointed with my meal. My husband was not impressed either. Pasta should be served hot. I've never been served just slightly warm pasta. My daughter makes homemade focaccia bread that is so delicious and soft. Their focaccia was hard as a rock. I'd gladly pay $5 for soft delicious focaccia. The prices are too high for what you are served. Maybe another entree would've been better. But I won't know because I won't be back.

I really liked the ambience of this restaurant. They had a beautiful patio that in the spring summer and early fall you could enjoy a meal outside. I had the roasted half Cornish hen and potatoes. It was good, but I wish there weren’t so many potatoes and maybe a vegetable with it Other than that no complaints!

My husband and I can across this hidden gem on. Thursday evening. Nothing we had disappointed! We could tell that the owner takes pride in his menu. Our server was extremely kind and patient while we were trying to figure out what to have. So thank you, Jamari, who helped us pick our meal. Make sure you try their mouthwatering tiramisu!!

This is our second visit - first was during restaurant week a few years back and it was amazing. Tonight we brought friends for a special dinner and we all left disappointed. Should be 2.5 stars. The starters to share Poached pear, prosciutto, crostinis Pear was still hard and took effort to cut- hard to eat this and get the flavors combined as presented. It was alright but no one was fighting over it. Apple salad was lovely and everyone enjoyed. But this is a basic Apple salad that's ok most menus Fried tortellini -the dough was thick and gummy. I didn't care for it- the sauce was the best part but it couldn't save the thick doughy disappointment. I had a bite and gave it to my husband. Polenta fries - bland. It had a sauce that reminded us all of the spicy mayo at our fav sushi place. We didn't finish. Mains - the guys ordered steak, mid rare and venison Steak came out well done- and now on the dry side. Which was a let down. The venison came out rare- seared on outside. Waitress said that is how it's suppose to be- we asked it be cooked a bit longer. It tastes like the entire dish was cooked longer- meat now cooked well and the potato's hard and overcooked. Sauce was good but the timing on meat was off as all the little pieces cooked too long. We ordered two pasta dishes - one was duck which my friend pulled out chewy meat chunks she struggled with .. I had the boar which was good but heavy on the salt. We skipped dessert. The table next to us ordered steak which had some pepper issues that caused him to have several coughing fits I'm going to assume it was an off night as nearly each dish was off. With tip it was $300 night - with the best dish being an apple salad. unfortunately, for that price we won't be taking a risk. It's a shame as we had such fond memories of the previous visit. ** side note they charge a back of the house fee- which is fine that is the tip for the cooks/ dishwasher etc- but you are then taxed on it, and as we did ended up tipping on top of that fee.

The best part of this experience was Paprika, the neighborhood orange cat that always hangs out in the restaurant! He walks from table to table to greet guests and enjoys being petted :) My friends and I wanted to try a few different pastas so we got two of the Trio, which included a pesto pasta, salmon pasta, and maccheroni with beef. Each trio was $42, which is quite pricey for the portion size. Unfortunately, the trio is set so you can't pick and choose which pastas you want. The pesto pasta was creamy and delicious, as you'd expect. The maccheroni with beef was the most flavorful, but a but too salty. The beef has a nice flavor but was on the drier side. The salmon pasta was creamy but more on the fishy side. Overall, this was a great sampler set of pastas and I'm glad we got to try a few different flavors. The roasted brussel sprouts had a nice char but did not have much flavor without the sautéed onions. Service was super friendly and welcoming! This is a nice place to stop by if you're craving some Italian and want to be visited by a cute orange cat. I recommend outdoor seating for that reason and also because it's just so lovely out on their back patio.

Stopped in on a spur of the moment after buying bread at Nightingale Bakery a few doors down the street. They said our two Golden Doodles were welcome on the back porch. We ordered a glass of wine each and a main course. My wife chose the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with pesto sauce and tomato soup. Her platter came with a cup of crispy potatoes. I chose the house made pasta with puttanesca sauce. Both were delicious. The service was great. We and the dogs were very comfortable on the patio.We will go back.

A real gem of a restaurant. We were vacationing in Forestville and very happy we decided on this place. Everything was excellent. The romaine pear salad is a must try. It was recommended by our waitress and did not disappoint. It has a ton of flavor. The roasted Italian Hen with Prosciutto wrapped Asparagus was superb. We were sharing dishes, & we both wished we had our own. We almost ordered another dish to go. Purple gnocchi with jumbo prawns was also great. I'm not a huge lover of gnocchi, but the wine sauce was fantastic. Lastly- the tiramisu.. wow. I never order dessert, & if my boyfriend does, I might just try one small bite. I ate my fair 1/2 of this. So, so good! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Had a great salad to start - really lovely flavors. Pasta was very good even though it was a little too salty. They have gluten free pasta also. Service was very nice. Nice quiet atmosphere makes it easy to hear your dining companion. All in all, an enjoyable evening.

Canneti's Roadhouse has fabulous, innovative food. Everything we tried was great: the white polenta fries, a pasta dish with duck and a pasta dish with salmon. Italian dishes in a non -traditional style. We would eat here all the time if we lived anywhere near. The service was super and the patio very nice.

We came for Sunday brunch and were delighted with the patio seating. The food and service were excellent. Recommended for your weekend stay in wine country.

Food was so delicious! I ordered the squid ink spaghetti with mussels and clams and it was amazing. The garlic & buttery sauce were delicious. Fiancé ordered the Maccheroni with pulled pork & it was a lot of pasta and meat with flavorful sauce. The Chardonnay was delicious and both the panna cotta and bread pudding were spectacular. Would definitely come back, especially since they change the menu often. Came with a big party of 8 and the service was really good. Great location and plenty of parking across the street. Inside was really cool too - it's decorated with a bunch of classic motorcycles and artwork and maps.

This is a really solid spot for great Italian food and some unique takes on dessert. Their table bread and Italian cola is a great way to start off. We got the brussel sprouts and fries for pre dinner snacking. The portions are definitely smaller than you would expect so for large groups order more things to share. The pasta trio is a great way to try three different pastas. The machheroni one is probably my favorite. The salmon pasta had a strong flavour to it that I would stay away from if you're not a big seafood person. Highly recommend the truffle dishes and the tiramisu. The tiramisu is not the classic one you would expect. It has hard shells with the cream filling and a really great caramel sauce.

I would like to thank the owners of Canneti Roadhouse Italiana,they made Thanksgiving dinner for my family and it was exceptional .I look forward to dinning there when it is open.Thank you again.

Went to this place for dinner. It was rainy and cold out. The cold carried into the restaurant - it was freaking freezing. But all is well when there is a great chef in the kitchen. I love the creativity in the menu. There are some cool items that I wanted to try but I went there for some good old fashioned Italian. We started off with the Pear poached in Sangiovese and Spices over Taleggio Cheese Sauce and House smoked Prosciutto. This had an abundance of wonderful flavors. My wife had the Romaine Hearts with Pomegranate,Apples Honey roasted Almonds, Parmesan and Apple-Lemon Vinaigrette - she loved it (didn't even give me a bite). I ended up getting the real Lasagne, layers of fresh Pasta, Bolognese, Bechamel and Parmesan. It was a little crispy, which I actually like. My wife had the Pepper stuffed with bread and veggies - she really liked it. Finally the Crispy Tiramisu of Angel Cookies , Mascarpone Mousse and Espresso Sauce - so good. Also had an off the menu Bavarian Chocolate Custard - yum yum. Service was really slow (which is fine, we all need to slow down a little), the drinks were really skimpy, and they charged $3 for a Open Table reservation (a little weird). That aside - we definitely both agreed we would come back because of the quality of the food.

Kind of still shocked... Just walked in at 8:00 pm with a party of 4. Granted, no reservation, but was staring at an open 4 top and open 2 top where we walked in. We were turned away in the most weird interaction ever experienced in a restaurant. Walked through to see there was only 26 people total in the whole place!! And they couldn't seat a party of 4? My son and his wife just moved to the neighborhood a week ago. Couldn't tell you about the food, but would NOT go back after our first interaction here. Sad, because we were all looking so forward to trying it...

The food was phenomenal. We had the peaches with Gorgonzola, romaine salad, squid ink linguine, maccheroni with porc and beef ragu (especially delicious) and a perfectly cooked roasted whole trout.

The service was good except we were told that we could not get bread service or fries until we had finished with our menus in order to keep the menus clean. What? These are paper menus insterted into a protective notebook that are presumably changed from time to time as the menu changes. That was just odd. The chestnut pasta with chanterelles was good, not great, as was the Tuscan pork shoulder. Neither had enough interesting flavor. The pesto pasta was great. Two of us had a dish I can't remember the name of but it was some kind of meat pie that was simply amazing. The two ravioli dishes were unremarkable. I have been to this restaurant three or four times now and overall I think it is a good restaurant, but I have never been blown away by it. We came here because it was difficult to get a larger party reservation around the holidays. Two dishes out of six were great but the other four I would not order again.

Came here with a 6 person group. Service was kind of slow despite it being not that busy. A couple of wrong items delivered to our table. Eventually food started turning up. Most of the food was good but some items just flat out bad. The 15oz steak came out stone cold and undercooked for medium rare. Sent it back and came out looking not much better and not much warmer. Tiramisu came out looking like a plate of melted ice cream. Front of house Service staff seemed perplexed at what was going on and the chef looked less than thrilled. I feel kinda bad writing this review because it seems like they're trying to do an upscale concept but not really hitting the mark. Not accepting amex is the chefs kiss on being left with a bad taste in your mouth.

Food is top notch! We've eaten here numerous times and are always impressed by the incredible flavors and balanced dishes. The halibut, purple potato gnocchi, and seasonal salads are always a must. Service is professional and attentive. Casual wine country vibe. Great place to dine after wine tasting near the Russian River Valley area. If you want to experience sensational Tuscan/Californian cuisine, then this is your place!

Mushroom shot is a must-have lil rich serving of soup. Pasta made to perfection, amazing experience and service. Tiramisu with an interesting and yummy twist. Congrats to front & back of the house - 5 star restaurant for sure.

Incredible find. We recently explored the charming area of Forestville and ate at Canneti Roadhouse. What a find. The food was absolutely delicious. The dishes were creative and the fresh homemade pasta was mouthwatering. The staff was friendly and service excellent. Kuddos to the chef.

What a find! stopped by on a Saturday and had fresh made spaghetti carbonara. The wine recommended by the sommelie/chef was perfect. Can't wait to go back for dinner.

The owner is extremely rude! Party of 4 showed up Saturday night without reservations. Waited several minutes before being acknowledged. When we were finally acknowledged we immediately told the waitress that we did not have reservations. The waitress said she would be right back, we waited several more minutes while she took orders and spoke to the owner. She came back and told us the owner would be seating us. The owner approached us with menus to seat us then asked if we had reservations when we told him we did not have reservations. He told us he could not seat us. The issue isn't that he was unable to seat us, the issue is how rude and loud he was AFTER we stood at the door waiting for close to 10 minutes. We did have brunch reservations the following day BUT after the way we were treated and talked to we immediately canceled them.

I have been wanting to go here for years. Friday night was the night - we had reservations for 7:30 - and got there at 7:15, it was pretty empty - part of this is still COVID I assume. Our waitress - I forget her name - (but she used to be a professional BIllard player!) - was a doll and answered my friend's MANY menu questions... The sad part - was that I was looking forward to getting the pasta with the "local lamb sausage" - well, wouldn't ya know it? - that was what they were out of that night - bummer!! We ordered the brussels sprouts and the beans to split - with were all great. The other friend and I split the pasta trio for 2: a Pesto, a creamy gnocchi and a Ragu. They were all good, and there was still plenty leftover. The room is pretty cool with about 6 or 7 antique motorcycles around the dining room.

Cork screw pasta with fava leaf pesto and braised chicken was one of the best things I ate this year. Also enjoyed the grilled romaine salad. Cane during restaurant week and will be back.

This is a wonderful local restaurant! Food is fantastic. However they charge you a9% back of the house charge. The owner is the back of the house! It is in very smaller print on the menu so be aware!

My husband and I went here for lunch today to enjoy their Restaurant Week special. OMG, Wow and Mmmm were the words we had for every bite. We shared all four offerings and the $5 focaccia...which you need to sop up every last bit of goodness. We chatted with the chef to thank him for our experience and he explained everything is made from scratch...nothing is packaged. Definitely going back for more. We are excited to experience their backyard lounge when the weather improves.

The pasta is made by hand, say no more! All the dishes we ordered were excellent and we were given the history of the recipes as well. This place is a gem and the owner is from Tuscany, trained by Michelin chefs. Do your self a favor. Italy has the best food in the world and Francesco puts his own creative spin on his dishes.

I came in last year for a tasting menu. A soup, Tuna of the Chianti, porchetta, something else, and this amazing dessert with Vin Santo. One of the best meals I ever had This place is a true gem. I get so excited thinking about porchetta.

The most amazing Italian food! Hand made pasta has it be tasted to be believed. The service was attentive, and the recommendations from the staff were spot on. Francisco, the owner, spent time with us telling us his history and the history of the restaurant. Well worth the travel to the off-the-beaten-path establishment.

The food is spectacular! So delicious it's impossible to describe with words. The memory stayed with us for days and we are looking forward to returning soon.

If you want your Italian food with a side of bigotry and a nasty attitude, this may be your place. We arrived a few, minutes early for our 5:45 reservation on Valentines Day. There were empty two tops all over the dining room, but we were led away from the dining room to a table in a shabby corridor which was used by wait staff to access drinks and table ware for the dining room and an outside storage room. Nothing about this space was attractive or romantic in any way. After being seated for about 10 minutes in this unpleasant environment with no attention and nothing but water on the table, we decided we should ask to be moved. I walked into the dining room and asked the hostess, who looked apologetic, to move us to one of the many empty tables. She said she would have to speak to the owner. Five minutes later she told us the owner had said no, we could not be moved with no further explanation. My husband suggested we leave immediately, but I am an optimist and thought surely the restaurant would do something, make some gesture, to put the evening on a better trajectory. I was wrong. After being neglected in this shabby corner for 25 minutes without being offered so much as drinks or bread (which we could see being rushed to tables in the dining room), we left. We are a gay couple and my husband is Asian. As I walked out, I saw only straight white couples in the dining room. Of course, they will seat gay couples and Asian diners here - we've eaten here before, we've even been seated in the main dining room albeit midweek with few others around. But on a busy night when there were choices to be made about whom to seat where, this was our experience. Shunted into a dingy corner away from other diners then neglected. It felt personal. When we left, my husband stayed behind to tell the owner why we were leaving. Instead of apologizing or offering to improve the situation in any way, he just spilled bile. Then he took time from a busy evening to push through a $70 'cancellation' charge on my credit card. Got notification of the charge just 30 minutes later.

I still stand by my statement. Small portions for salty food. Of course you would defend your employee haha that's the joke here

This is truly a place to enjoy. They have authentic Tuscan Italian food with everything made in house. The ambiance is as though I took a trip and was dining in Italy. The service was impeccable and guided both my meal and wine decisions for the evening. I couldn't recommend this place enough. I look forward to dining in again.

Three stars all around. Food was average. We felt the main entrees were overpriced, complimentary bread wasn't the best. Wine selection was good best part desert was delectable. Least favorite food ever: Bread Crumb and Parmesan Passatelli with Local Lamb Sausage and Pecorino Cheese Wait staff, we felt rushed. Walked off before we could ask for more wine and at the end we wanted coffee or something after desert. Ambiance is nice!

The food was amazing, and the portions were really good - the pasta trio was delicious! Servers are really nice and it's super cool to be next to the kitchen and see them working on our meal. Amazing service! I love the atmosphere and the decorations!

My husband and I needed a new restaurant for date night and love Italian food! We struck gold stumbling upon this restaurant. Modest from the outside, but amazing atmosphere inside, and delicious food, wonderful service and most genuine chef and owner! Also, great selection of wine and collection of Italian motorcycles. This is a great date night spot. Food is spectacular! Everything I've tried has been wonderful. The cooks/chef are wonderful. And if it's not to busy they will chat with you about the food. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars, is the service from the front of house staff has been lacking the 3 out of 4 times we've been. But still worth a visit. It's a small place with limited seating. Better for a more intimate experience. Definitely will return.

Italian food in the authentic tradition; the freshest ingredients and amazing flavors! My husband and I love heading to Canneti's whenever we get the chance. Last night we ate a gorgeous purple potato gnocchi with Louisiana gulf shrimp in a pear tomato red sauce with garlic. Wow, I could go back and eat that dish again tonight. Fresh salads! Great ambience. I highly recommend Canneti's!

Had a wonderful dinner while staying in the area to tour wineries. Small restaurant with tons of character and a friendly owner and staff. Surprisingly diverse menu, dynamite wine list, a great experience.

My husband and I had the most delicious lunch today at Canneti Roadhouse after a morning of wine pick-ups. The place was quiet because they had just opened, the atmosphere is open, light and very eclectic. I had the Tagliatelle Carbonara with House Pancetta and Parmesan-Egg Sauce which was absolutely divine. The flavors were exquisite. My husband ordered the homemade sausage sandwhich with grilled onions and side salad which was excellent. Perfect lunch. Highly Recommend!

We had our wedding reception at Canneti's and it was a wonderful night. The food and service was amazing! The atmosphere at the restaurant was beautiful as well as the outdoor patio. Canneti's even baked our wedding cake in house and it was so delicious! Thank you so much for making our wedding a wonderful experience!

First time that four of us tried this place for restaurant week. The good: The Romain salad, the stuffed pepper and the pasta dish were pretty good. The bad: The bread , for a charge, that the server suggested as an appetizer didn't arrive till we were done with the first course. The cremini soup was bland and watery. The beef cacciatore was full of grizzle and a very small portion. My friend had very little that was edible. When we ordered desert we were told that they were out of one option, the pannacota. Note it was fairly early and they were not that busy. Poor planning. As other reviewers said, the tiramisu is not at all a real tiramisu. No ladyfingers and really not resembling any tiramisu I've ever had. Server explained it was "chef's versions and deconstructed". Should be described on menu as such. The last straw: An undisclosed extra charge per person because we used open table to make a reservation. REALLY ?? NEVER paid that before. Will not be back.

After posting my review I've looked at previous reviews on Yelp. There are countless reviews of 1-2 stars that the owner Francesco has responded to, mostly having to do with complaints about service, small portions and overly high prices. These were some of the same issues I pointed out but did not get a response to. I can empathize with an owner who has problems with staff. It can happen anywhere, but this seems to be a trend that hasn't been corrected. The food issues fall upon the chef/owner and I think they could be mitigated or resolved. Clearly the chef is skilled and sometimes things work and sometimes they don't. Obviously for some people it's not working. So, you can either adjust accordingly or dismiss those people as ungrateful or "just used to Olive Garden" or similar insult. Sometimes a chef, or anyone, needs to step back, check your ego and take into consideration what your customers are saying. You don't have to abandon your culinary goals but you have to grasp that you are preparing something for others, not just yourself. It's not them having to come around to your vision, it's providing a satisfying experience for them.

We have dined here several times and are long overdue for leaving a review. We have consistently received fabulous food. We have dined both inside and out- on a nice evening the outdoor seating is just fabulous. Staff has always been friendly and efficient. Definitely one of our favorite places to dine when we come to the river!

Wonderful, delightful, flavorful.... you get the picture! Step back in time to an Italian trattoria when the chef and waiters know your name and pour your favorite wine before you even spread your napkin. This is Canneti. Sit at the bar and watch the chefs work. Start with an Olive oil tasting to rev your tastebuds and then opt for any one of the pastas ( see pic for pesto or the duck reduction). Service is attentive though not overbearing, and don't worry, the chef is always watching and that's a really good thing. Enjoy!

We recently visited the Russian River Valley, and decided to have dinner at Canetti Roadhouse Italiana in Forestville. It was one of the highlights of our trip. What a beautiful restaurant, with a romantic garden in the back to dine under the stars if the weather allows! The food was absolutely outstanding. The Tiramisu is to die for - so different, so very delicious. The chef, Alexandro Torre, does not only prepare excellent food, but he has the wonderful Italian way of making you feel like you belong to the Canetti family (in a good way, of course!). It was a much-welcomed difference to some of the hyped up and whatever starred restaurants in Healdsburg.
