Discover a breezy eco-chic eatery serving up American classics like mac 'n' cheese and roast chicken, with a cozy dog-friendly patio perfect for brunch.
"Canopy, Montrose. Start the morning right with a bloody mary and monkey bread at Canopy. The interior is like a breath of fresh air, modern and warm, refreshingly simple. The dog-friendly patio is lined with trees, and it's easy to forget you're off one of the main streets in the neighborhood. If you aren't looking for a full brunch, head next door to Woodbar for a coffee shop feel. You know, one with a full bar. Tip: They offer complementary valet, but we've never had a problem finding free parking on adjacent streets."
Montrose Patio Spot Canopy Closes After Ten Years - Eater Houston
"Canopy and Woodbar, both Montrose staples for a decade, will officially depart the neighborhood before May is over. Owner Claire Smith is set to close the restaurant on May 26, days before her lease on the space at 3939 Montrose Boulevard expires." - Amy McCarthy
No wait!!! :D
The food was delicious! I got the eggs benedict and my fiance got the chicken fried chicken. We both left satisfied. When I asked for substitutions (was potatoes for brussel sprouts) our server was more than happy to accommodate. Prices were about average for brunch. :) We enjoyed the atmosphere. Inside felt kinda modern/ industrial. Outside was cozy.
We will definitely be back.

I dined on the patio with a group for lunch on Saturday at Canopy for the first time. Overall, I had a great experience and will be back!
Atmosphere: the patio was nice and is dog friendly!! It is a basic patio with tables and chairs, no special decor at all. We did have someone walk on the patio asking for money which was irritating and a little scary. I think they should have the patio not so open to others walking up.
Service: our waitress for very nice and helpful. However, the service was noticeably slow.
Food: I had the white egg scramble which was great! With monkey bread.
Also, had a mimosa and coffee
Parking: parking sucks! Had to complimentary valet, which was great!

This was a good find in the Montrose District. The service was a bit slow but friendly and courteous. The meal was delicious and so was the blood orange mimosa! They have courtesy valet who work hard for a tip. The ladies bathroom provided a fulk size changing table for the littles in your life if you have them with you:) It seems as they have a pretty regular clientele as several customers were addressed by name which was nice to hear and see.

Great brunch - everything was delicious. I enjoyed the diversity of ages among guests: there were families with babies, groups of 20-30 something's, and seniors/elderly. Nice to find a place that caters to all. Parking was a bit tight, but we got there "early" around 10 am on a rainy Sunday and had no problem.

Food was okay! definitely impressed with the ambiance. It was quiet. Great place for a quick lunch date. I got the brisket sliders! Loved the onion rings. I’d come back. 😊

Our office ordered Hummus, Calamari, Cheese plate and Cesar Salad with Chicken…Needless to say it was just AWFUL!!! Hummus was watery the pita bread was stale the cucumber taste freezer burnt. Calamari appeared to be microwaved and was tasteless! five spice how about No Spice. Cheese plate was basically a Sargento snack pack for $16. Cesar Salad w/Chicken was basically the butt of a roman lettuce head with prepackaged microwaved chicken.

My husband and I always stop in after a visit to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. The food is light and refreshingly healthy. The waiters are always nice. This place has valet parking if needed..which most of the time it is due to the lack of parking in the area.
