Our experience at Canopy New Orleans Downtown was excellent from start to finish. The entire staff was so warm, professional, and accommodating. Everyone we interacted with made us feel genuinely welcomed. The hotel itself is modern, very clean, and well-kept. You can tell attention to detail matters here. Valet service was prompt and efficient, which made arrival and departure smooth and hassle-free. The location is perfect—right in downtown, close to restaurants, attractions, and the vibe of New Orleans, but still quiet and relaxing when you need to unwind. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommend! I stayed at the Canopy by Hilton in New Orleans and had an amazing experience. The location was perfect—walking distance to great restaurants and local spots. The front desk team was exceptional—always friendly, helpful, and eager to offer recommendations for signature restaurants and local treats. Special thanks to Darnell! The room was clean, spacious, and had a modern, sleek design. I loved using the digital key and appreciated how easy it was to switch from a double to a king room at check-in. We were in town for a class reunion, and the hotel went above and beyond by creating a signature cocktail for our group and letting us enjoy music and mingling in the lobby. It was such a thoughtful touch! Overall, it was a wonderful stay. I’ll definitely be booking here again next time I’m in New Orleans!

I recently stayed here on a couple's vacation and I overall enjoyed my stay here. The front desk staff were really nice and had great customer service, I loved the decor of the room, and it was very clean! It definitely felt like a nice little luxury experience with the way the rooms were. The only downside that I had to the room was a feature in the bathroom. Unfortunately, The detachable shower head was broken and when the water was coming out of it it squirted mainly from the cord part and not the actual shower head. I highly recommend getting that fixed before the next guests use that room. Also, after taking a shower, a wet spot appeared on the ceiling that turned brownish. Other than that it was very quiet, the AC gets extremely cold which isn't always a bad thing, and the bed was very comfortable. This hotel is literally Central to everything and you can walk almost anywhere from here! We were only like a 7-minute walk from Bourbon Street and a few minutes from each of the restaurants which was very convenient! We also had breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel and the food was great but I was overall disappointed in the service that we received. We went there and were immediately seated, but it took a while for the server to assist us. When the server did finally come to assist us, she didn't have the best attitude and didn't really show great customer service. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights and had a great experience overall. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is excellent—close to plenty of restaurants, Bourbon Street, and Canal Street. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the rooms don’t have a refrigerator. There was a drawer meant to hold drinks, but it didn’t keep them cool and felt a bit worn out, which made it pretty useless. Other than that, it’s a very nice hotel, and I would consider staying here again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Canopy by Hilton – New Orleans Absolutely loved my stay here! From the moment I walked in, the hospitality was top-notch. The staff made me feel right at home with their warm, welcoming attitude. The rooms were spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and I slept like a dream every night. The food? Next level. Whether it was breakfast, a quick bite, or a full dinner, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Please see Danielle she was a delight! Perfect location, beautiful modern design, and a vibe that captures the heart of New Orleans. Can’t wait to come back!

Spent 3 nights at this hotel and the standard is low. Check in was good and staff were friendly and helpful. Went to the room to unpack, there was a really damp and musty smell on our exit from the lift, this was not what was expected. The safe was marked that you should use hotel front desk safe at reception as provided safe was not suitable for passports and money, we went to reception to ask about safe boxes and the lady said the had none. Also, the paperwork in the room advised keycards needed re-entry every 24 hours. The staff member looked at us blankly.|Went out for the evening and used the shower when we returned, the door did not close so the water went all over the floor and we had to mop it up with towels. This is not satisfactory for any room and is a health and safety concern. We were late so decided we would address it in the morning. On our return the shower door closed a bit better although water still escaped and it took less towels to mop up. We lay on the bed and heard voices in the corridor then a door being knocked, we didn't think it was ours as we hadn't ordered anything, door was knocked again then the maintenance man opened our door and shouted in that it wasn't closed properly. This was a shock for us and he asked if we would like a room change, we accepted. This is another fail for your hotel as all hotel doors are fitted with door closers for fire and security of guests. If the maintenance man hadn't let us know the room wouldn't have been secure and we could have had our belongings stolen the next day. We moved to the new room and its shower door leaked too. I have no words. |We ate breakfast in restaurant which was nice. Water and ice was provided which was good and our cases were looked after in storage for our last day.

This was the host hotel for my class reunion. We were shown soooo much love and attention and it made the overall experience terrific. The self-parking behind the hotel was a plus. My only issue was the air in the room. I informed the front desk (Darren, I think was his name) that it was hot in the room. He informed me to give it a minute to cool off, unfortunately, it never did and I wasn't moved. Otherwise, it was perfect. Thank you again!

Always a good stay at the canopy. This hotel is the best value and location. The bar is not the best but the restaurant is good when it’s open. The staff always helpful and it’s a safe location. Security always working near the entrance. It’s not perfect of course but the basics are right. Showers always hot and clean, towels the same. Location is perfect for the French quarter and canal st. You will need a cooler, the chiller isn’t worth much but the ice machine and filter water in each floor work well.

Yelp
This lovely contemporary hotel is conveniently located near downtown New Orleans. The rooms are similar to canopy hotels, which are modern and clean. The beds were supportive. They have an excellent valet service where you can simply text the valet to have your car brought up. Well, worth the $54 a night to save on the hassles when you are on vacation. One morning while waiting for the bus to pick us up (for our excellent airbus swamp tour) there was a disturbed drug addled man loitering around the front of the hotel. The tall young African-American valet with cornrows in his hair (I forget his name) put himself between our group and the homeless guy and took ownership of the situation & told the guy "this is my hotel and these are my customers and you need to leave because you are bothering them. And if you don't leave, I'm going to call the security guy who will remove you." The guy started yelling back until the security guard came, and the guy took one look at him and left immediately. The security guy apologized to us for having to deal with that but told us it was his job to keep us safe as we were "his customers at his hotel." We were so impressed with these young men's commitment to excellent customer service at their hotel. I ended up leaving my brand new AirPods pro in the room. To my astonishment when I called the next day, the housekeeping manager, Robert informed me that they were returned by housekeeping, and that they would FedEx the AirPods to me that day and I just received them today.

Yelp
I'd never stayed at this location before, but since there's one in my home state, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, my experience was a complete turnaround! I had a reservation for Monday, but when I called the front desk, they couldn't find it. Derrell was helpful, but Bree (or Nicole... I coudn't tell if she was lying about her name and given Derrell's hesitation over the phone, I was convinced she did ) was incredibly rude - clearly not a first-time offense. Her negative attitude was the deciding factor in canceling my reservation immediately. It turned out to be the best decision, as I found another hotel that was far superior.

Yelp
Great location! Directly in-between the French quarter & Cesar's Superdome. Felt safe walking at night as a group of girls. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I flew into New Orleans airport to visit friends in Mississippi. Due to scheduling conflicts I ended up treating myself to a couple nights in town. After looking at some options I chose this location and I was NOT disappointed! The hotel is conveniently located in downtown and easily accessible on a corner lot. There's valet parking available as well. The hotel itself smells incredible. There is also a bar, and restaurant on premises. The rooms are BEAUTIFUL! My only complaint was the lack of microwave and I wasn't a fan of the style of mini fridge they had. Also in the bathroom all the products were extremely watered-down as opposed to being properly refilled. But apart from these small things, I truly enjoyed my stay! It's a beautiful and affordable location, perfect for any occasion, planned or spontaneous!

Yelp
Need a hotel near the smoothie king center or Superdome? This is your place. From the time we pulled up to valet to check out we had a great experience. This was a staycation and they made me feel like I was on a real vacation in Nola. Ms Lala at the front desk is an amazing welcome to the place and informative. The bartender whoms name I missed hit all the marks at the bar downstairs. Room was clean and even though it was packed you didn't feel that way.

Yelp
If this is your first visit to NOLA, jog on and find somewhere in the tourist or garden district (probs not on Bourbon St if you value your sleep). It was a little too far out of the way for us to really feel like we were on holiday. I'll start by saying that it's a neat building. It's the old Oil and Gas office building and you can still see the old fixtures and fittings around the place. I will also say that as of the time of writing (March 2024) they are renovating the old office building next door into another hotel. They don't seem too far along, so be prepared for construction noise for a while to come. The reception staff were nice, but I ended up having to ask for my included upgrade when I was not offered one. We ended up in a corner room which was lovely and light due to all the windows. Corey at the bar was the bomb! So friendly and helpful! There is an extremely limited breakfast menu. I was recovering from oral surgery so my ability to eat normally was limited. I picked the softer pieces out of one of the larger breakfast plates and gave my husband the rest. The room: Nice to have -- Nice bed. Soft sheets. The biggest and softest towels in the universe. All the toiletries you need. Filtered water & ice at the hydration station on each floor. Would have been nice to have -- A regular coffee maker. I don't do (N)espresso. Our travel kettle saved us. A real fridge (the gal who checked us in told us that it was a 'chiller' not a 'fridge'). Now, I ask myself... "what the heck is the difference"? Doesn't a chiller keep something chilled - just like a fridge? Anyhoo, we only needed it for milk for our tea and coffee (that we brought with us). CARPET!!! Come on now folks. Concrete floors?? Yes, they may have been original to the building, but still... There was a tiny (maybe 6") strip of carpet around and between the beds, but the rest... Brrrrr... bring ye slippers. All in all the hotel is good if you need to be in that part of town.

Yelp
A modern hotel that has a hipster flare. Front desk staff are extremely friendly and solved my concerns. The room proved well equipped and modern. The hotel staff kept my room very clean. I will stay here again. The lobby is comfortable and the bar is immediately next to the lobby.

Yelp
So far So good! Checking in was smooth sailing! I'm a member of both "Hilton and the Marriott but I must say, I am IMPRESSED! I'm an owner of a Nespresso Machine and I love the pods! I read the reviews and reviewed the items which were included in the room and I saw Nespresso machine..well, there are SO many companies that claim they have a Nespresso, only to find out it's another brand...well it was and boy was happy!! I Love the design of the room...very quaint and chill. The bar...well, it's one of my favorite places to be! It seats about 7 guests directly at the bar, then there is seating directly behind the bar seating but the bar still provides service to that area as well. Then there is a dining area which is great! Of course I made my way to the bar and I started with a glass of Butternut Chardonnay and ended with a Earl Grey Gimlet! Nom Nom! If you're in need of a place to stay, I would highly suggest The Canopy @Hilton in New Orleans! Not only will I be staying here, but my son and his fiancé and his Mother in Love! Can you say...WE LOVE IT?! Well...we do! Shout out to the check in process! I received my key immediately and shout out to the bar tender Brittany AKA Nola Darling for providing great customer service with a chill personality!

Yelp
Overall good stay, let's go! So how'd we pick this place to stay? I (still had as of October) my -$200.00 AMEX Platinum "Fine Hotels & Resorts" credit to use- so figured use it or lose it! Location: - Keep in mind that this is in the "Central Business District" when booking, which (as a visitor) may not be the ideal location for you (ok for us, as we were spending most of our time at Tulane University) Hotel impressions: - Has a cool vibe - Front desk team was very friendly and welcoming - Room was decent, average size (has an "industrial" feel to it which is ok for us Bar/Restaurant: - Stopped by the bar one night for drinks, and had good service and appreciated the Saints game being on that Thursday night to watch - Had breakfast only at the restaurant, and found the food to be very good Hope this helps you make your decision of where to stay in NOLA.

Yelp
Location is perfect! It's away from the bustling noise from The main tourist streets so you don't hear it, but walking distance when you want a livelier atmosphere. 10-minute walk to the French Quarter, Bourbon Street Staff is super friendly and there's a nice little bar. You can order drinks or a bite to eat. Room was spacious and comfortable. Definitely book again when we go back

Yelp
Our rooms were musty and had a humid smell. There was no vent in the room so we woke up with condensation on our walls. I booked with THC via AMEX I was supposed to recieve a food per diem credit but it wasnt applied during check out. I was able to get it resolved but it took multiple phone calls and follow up. The staff onsite is really nice and the location is great but I would not come back.

Yelp
Canopy by Hilton New Orleans. This is a fairly new hotel and the feel is very European. Husband and I booked our stay here through American Express travel. We arrived early and were told they did not have our reservation, which was not an ideal way to start an Anniversary trip. So after 30 minutes of waiting and talking to an American Express representative on the phone our reservation was found. We later reached out to Kendal Toles, The General Manager whom made the rest of our stay top notch. We stayed in a King corner room which was nice and roomy. The room had a coffee station and a walk in shower. Because it was a corner room we had lots of windows which was nice. The hotel has a nice bar area where they serve breakfast in the morning. Then they have a separate restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. I highly recommend you visit Barry @ the Herbalist/bar for great drinks.

Yelp
Update - i checked out 10 whole days early and priceline told me that CANOPY MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO REFUND ME THOSE DAYS YET THEY'RE BOOKING THAT ROOM! DO NOT STAY HERE! THEY ARE CROOKS AND THIS IS DIRTY BUSINESS! I LITERALLY JUST CANCELLED MY FAMILIES VISIT DOWN HERE BECAUSE OF THIS! I HOPE TO GOD THE WORST THINGS IN LIFE HAPPEN TO YOU! The portion of the actual stay was terrible! $45 parking a night is the most ignorant thing I've ever seen. We have two cars and. Priceline put us here as a good cheap option (see my update for how Canopy's owners stole thousands of dollars from me)! Outside are bums, people smoking, and inside is the same thing. The rooms smell like vomit and cigarettes. The only good quality about the place is NOTHING! I'll NEVER IN MY LIFE USE THIS HOTEL OR PARENT COMPANY AGAIN! I'D RATHER SLEEP IN MY CAR! Corporate greed like this is why it's impossible to live now. I don't know what counts as a 4 star hotel in new orleans but this is a 1 star to me and I've traveled the world. Even worse the walls are PAPER THIN. Haven't slept once in weeks. I'm so disgusted my skin is turning red by how these PoS stole from me!

Yelp
Nice stay but valet was SO SLOW. Quite a nice stay! I'm a diamond member and was upgraded to a suite. Nespresso machine, ultra friendly staff, and the daily credit are great touches. Didn't stop in for happy hour. Had a great night sleep too! HOWEVER the valet was incredibly slow. The ticket says expect 15 mins, which is fine, but 1) you cannot call downstairs 15 mins in advance to have them pull the car around for you, and 2) it took closer to 25 minutes to have the car pulled around, once I was downstairs and ready to go. If there had been anyone ahead of me, I would have been very late for my meeting. Also, the daily credit is an issue across many Hilton hotels. This hotel is not an exception. The lady at check in said I get $18 "today and tomorrow" and the lady when I checked out said I only get 1 credit. I stand firmly that if the credit was one per night, it would say it's a nightly credit. However they all say daily credit, which means 2 days.

Yelp
I had a very nice four-night stay at Canopy for vacation. The location is fantastic - just a block from a streetcar stop and within easy walking distance of the French Quarter. While the neighborhood to the west looks a bit sketchy, I always felt safe walking in the area. The hotel has a unique and interesting design and is focused on going green. Instead of disposable soaps and shampoos, they have refillable bottles in the bathroom. There are refillable glass water bottles in the rooms with filtered water stations on the odd floors (odd floors only, so if you have a choice, get a room on an odd-numbered floor). The coffeemaker is an original Nespresso, and there is a "refrigerated" drawer, which will cool things slightly but not get anything actually cold. It took me a bit to realize that a switch inside the door actually turns off the outlets next to the bed (odd), so if the outlets don't work, check the switches. My dealings with the staff were quite delightful. Keith at the front desk was one of the best hotel staff members I've ever met, and I value the tips he gave me and the general discussions we had. Barry, the bartender, was also a delight. There are two in-house dining options with different names for the same kitchen. Ginger Roux for lunch and dinner, and the Herbalist for breakfast and the bar. The food is surprisingly good, and the prices were reasonable for the quality. The crawfish boil fried rice was amazing (Louisiana crawfish tails, andouille, local mushrooms, and charred corn) for dinner, as was the Louisiana breakfast (eggs, cheddar grits, praline bacon, biscuit). I wanted to try a lot more, but I also wanted to eat throughout New Orleans while in town. Unfortunately, my last morning, a convention was in town, so they switched to an "all-inclusive" breakfast buffet for $29, which simply looked like Hampton's free breakfast. Overall, quite a satisfying place to stay, and I will return.

Yelp
Very beautiful, nice and new hotel! Conveniently located...about an 8 minute walk from good ol stankin' Bourbon street! A gentleman (from the dfw area, I believe; his name escapes me) checked us in. It was about noon and our Rooms weren't ready (not unheard of). He was very pleasant. It looks like he was the only staff member who was, that trip.... The woman at the desk was very unfriendly to us. She might come off as rude to some, but she was very "matter of fact" and a little "gruff". I called the desk and asked her for more towels. She hung up in my face and never sent them. The rooms were clean. Our suite was cool. Not a very good view for the money paid, but I get it, we all can't win. Lol Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but it was always empty. The menu looked fantastic! The Herbalist is a craft cocktail bar inside of the hotel. Never in my life have I ever been denied a shot. The manager told my party this isn't a "shot bar" and that he doesn't even have grenadine. His tone was pretty snippy, embarrassing to us, and condescending. Unfortunately, the Cocktails tasted like heaven! job well done! I really did not want to like them after our little exchange with the bar manager. This place is really not that bad. I'd stay here again after a select few take a few hospitality courses' ;-)

Yelp
In New Orleans, I have stayed at several hotels and it's a challenge to find one that can deal with the climate while providing some level of comfort. I stayed in this hotel for two nights, and while I found the room to be comfortable, we had a couple of issues. First of all there was an alarm going off in the electrical closet on my floor. No one attended to it and I could smell what could best be described as something electrical burning. I went down to the front desk to report it. They sent somebody up and seemed unconcerned about it but when I returned to the floor, the smell was greatly diminished, and the alarm was off. It was concerning that nobody attended to this alarm that had been going on for a while until I reported it. Second, our room was quite warm when we got in, though it was December and in the 60s when we arrived. The room was spacious enough, and it came with a really great Nespresso coffee machine, and I really appreciated that. The toilet and shower area was very cramped, and the door that opened from the shower, opened toward the toilet in a way that made it very hard to get in and out. The toilet itself had a pump that appeared to be going out and made this terrible l, like killing of a lamb sound every time we flushed the toilet. Clearly, this is not a new problem and I was disappointed somebody had not fixed that before we arrived. Oh, also, there was what I could just figure out was supposed to be a refrigerator below the coffee maker, but it was not cold, and there was no way to determine how to make it cold and the dryer was broken so anytime I pulled it out, the whole thing would fall out. The other major issue was the lobby. The front desk clerks were lacking in attentiveness (on their phones with personal calls) and hospitality and the temperature in the lobby was very warm. It stayed at 75 or 76° each day we were there. The day we checked out it was in the mid 70s outside and so it was very warm and humid feeling in the lobby. They said they had no intention of changing the temperature or turning on the A/C, even though the past two days had been warm, because they were waiting on a cold front to come through sometime later that evening. They also explained to me that with their front doors being constantly opened because of guests arriving & leaving, there was no point in trying to keep the lobby at a comfortable temperature. I found their reaction disappointing. Also I would be concerned about booking this hotel in the summer because I wonder what it would be like when it's over 100° outside. Finally, it took about 25 minutes for us to get our car from the valet. There was only one couple ahead of us so I found it disappointing it took that long. Overall the beds were very comfortable and we slept well (as long as we had a sound machine going) and the location was great.

Yelp
This hotel seems to be fairly new ! The receptionist was extremely nice! I used the check in method from my phone which was a very smooth process and i requested for a digital key so I walked right on in to my room. Now let's talk about the room!! I really loved the decor, the lights were lighting (meaning the lighting was perfect!) the beds was made nicely and comfortable! There was a cute glass bottle you can put filtered water in from their hydration station. They have on every floor. I must say hydration station is a very smart thing to have. The bathrooms were perfect even though the room with the toilet and shower was a but tight it still was nice. The whole room gave modern clean up-to-date. I just love it. Now the hotel is very beautiful very modern but what knock this review down to four star is the parking. Valet is $45 per night which is way too much, the parking lots seem a bit sketchy and you have to pay for parking unless you want a boot on your car. So I hate how parking is but the hotel is perfect.

Yelp
I booked a stay with Canopy by Hilton New Orleans Downtown because its price, location, new vibe, and reviews via Yelp and Expedia fit what I was looking for. Out of three other hotels I noted, Canopy was the cheapest, yet highly rated. One thing I loved about its location was that it sat within range of all things of my interest in New Orleans. As of late, I have been highly intrigued by hotels with colorful exteriors which not only add a new vibe but contribute to my anticipation of visiting. Since this hotel is on the uprise there is a lack in reviews, so with that I booked in expectation of nothing less than a great experience. The Yelp reviews read were quality enough to persuade me into booking. And during the time booked, Canopy had a rating of 4.1 out of 5 via Expedia. My experience with the receptionist behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already paid for, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a short briefing of what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key. The receptionist was even so kind as to give me a New Orleans sweet potato praline cookie. For your information check-in starts at 4:00PM, and check-out ends at 11:00AM. My initial impression of the room was, "Aww! This is beautiful!" The room was very decorative and colorful with colors that match the city's jazz music persona. I must say that I loved the welcome sign with my name featured on the television. It is the little things like that why hotels get good reviews from me. And this is the first hotel I have stayed at with both a trash and recycling receptacle inside of the room. The room met my cleanliness standards! Comfort wise, there were no issues whatsoever sleeping in the king-sized bed during my stay. Not once did I wake up as my head was engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. The shower was okay! I say okay because I was not too fond of the shower head design, but I did feel clean after showering. I must say that I loved that they had lavender hygiene products like lotion, shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to with no connectivity issues during my stay. There is a restaurant known as Ginger ROUX where you can purchase drinks at the bar/lounge. It was one of the amenities I had no interest in during my stay, but it did add a nice spiffy touch to the hotel. As far as my times in-and-out of the hotel, I do not believe I saw any of the guests utilizing its bar/lounge other than for a meeting. I likely would have checked it out, if I felt it were vegan friendly or let alone if the menu was more publicized in the rooms. It always pains me to go out and get my food when hotels have accessible restaurants attached. There are plentiful sights, activities, restaurants, and shopping centers within a mile radius of Canopy. Some that I experienced and noted were Fulton Street, French Quarter, Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, The Caesars Superdome, The World-Famous Museum of Death, Canal Place, Harrah's, and Louis Armstrong Park. I would book with Canopy by Hilton New Orleans Downtown again because not only did the hotel meet my comfort needs, but its location is within a fitting distance from attractions that have my interest in New Orleans. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

Yelp
AC in the room didn't work the whole time we were there. In fact, they showed up on the last day to fix it, an hour before we checked out. The mini fridge in the room barely worked too. The shower was fine, and they gave us enough pillows that we didn't have to ask for more. But the AC ruined it.

Yelp
PRICE This hotel I believe opened in the first half of 2022 and I booked my stay months in advance. I paid about $322/night excluding all fees. Lesson learned with Hilton properties--always recheck the price a week before your stay. In this case, the price went down to $100+/night and it was too late for me to cancel and make a new reservation. LOCATION Is this your first time in New Orleans? Do you know where you are going? How far can you walk? We ended up taking Lyft to get to Riverwalk and the French Quarter. PARKING I had my car parked with their $45/day valet parking which takes them more than an hour to retrieve the car. Try to do a research first first on the parking options. This hotel is surrounded by maybe 3 parking garages and the valet will park your car in one of those and I'm not kidding about the extremely long wait to get your car. Arriving at the hotel--we couldn't find it right away! That's right, we couldn't find the hotel! Were they ashamed about the hotel name that they put the sign in an itty bitty corner where the entrance was which was a corner designated for smoking where in other buildings that's where some homeless guy smoking pot would be? We did see a restaurant sign then there was a turn with a stop light with multiple traffic signs and then before you know it you're at the end of the block of a parking lot. It's really confusing that I had to call them twice just to figure out where the car drop off for valet was. I was told it was in by an umbrella which we couldn't find--it was folded up and shoved to a corner. Their drop off point is a lane of a busy street--the kind of street where you can get a ticket from in another city if you park your car by the curb close to a busy intersection. ROOMS Before getting here we stayed a night in a Tru by Hilton hotel in Florida. Tru Hotels in Wikipedia mentions, "Clever bathrooms..." "The brand uses platform beds instead of box springs..." " TV cabinet would take up 2 feet, but with flat screen TV's the space could be spared. The desk that was decided to be used is a portable chair attached to a table allowing the guest to use the chair wherever they want in the room." Guess what? This upper upscale hotel is designed pretty much like that midscale Tru hotel! At least Tru had some free breakfast! The bathroom is pretty cramped, not really sure why they only have a conditioner in there and empty spots for what I assumed would have a shampoo and maybe a bodywash. They try to do the clever bathrooms by installing a wooden sliding door. The sink is outside the bathroom, go figure. The glass door of the shower will hit your knee if you're sitting on the toilet bowl--it's that tight. As I'm typing this review, I keep reading the reviews of other Yelp users on the right side of the screen and I'm wondering if we're reviewing the same hotel. The way they describe this property is like it's a great 5-star hotel. BREAKFAST There's an option to order breakfast ahead and you can pick it up at the restaurant at the ground floor. Okay I read in a review and this was most likely in Google that this place had the best breakfast in any hotel period. To me their food was okay considering the price. Considering the price. Hilton Honors Diamond with $18 food/beverage credit and that's pretty much how much their breakfast is for one plate of something which is not at all filling at all. When you try to get your food you'll be hearing some ahem ahem while you sign the check. Yes, they seem to expect a tip even if you're only picking up your breakfast in a paper bag. I seriously had a better time in Ihop about 5 blocks away. New Orleans is a bigger city and we are expecting bigger city hotel standards here. THE STAFF There were nice people working there and there were not-so-nice ones as well. At some point I thought I was in a Rosalia challenge in Tiktok. THE GOOD The room was clean although my not-so-very-sensitive nose could smell some hint of new paint. This is a new-ish hotel after all. The walls were thick although I could hear some kid bang on the hotel window but it was fine. Check-in and check-out was painless although the hotel card didn't work on the elevator right away the first time.

Yelp
We stayed here because I had a credit card bonus that was about to expire and it came with $100 towards dining/experience. The location is pretty decent- near the streetcar stops, quiet and off the beaten path. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but the sheets are scratchy and none of us slept well or thought the beds were comfortable. The restaurant was not open when we went (6pm on a Saturday and it was supposed to be open until 11pm), and we were told we could order to go from the bar, which we declined. There is an option to order a $5 breakfast of yogurt, fruit (apple or orange), juice, and a granola bar that is delivered to the room in the morning. You order by affixing a bag to your door, which we thought was a nice option since we tend to oversleep. You can tick a box with a 1 or a 2 to indicate how many breakfast bags you'd like to order. I wrote 3 on the bag so that we could have three breakfasts (the room sleeps four and we had three people), so I was surprised in the morning when only two breakfasts were there. I called the front desk and they told me that you are only allowed to order two per room. This seems like a bizarre policy since you can sleep four in a room (had two queen beds). In the morning while we were checking out, a woman was at the front desk saying that her car had been broken into and she had been assaulted while smoking outside. While The area felt reasonably safe and quiet to us, it was a reminder that you have to be careful regardless of where you stay. We love NOLA and will definitely be back, but we won't stay here again.

Yelp
Great hotel with a very cool vibe. Kayden the valet attendant was fantastic! He takes pride in his job and it definitely shows! Great hotel and team.

Yelp
Broken bed. Absolute worst ever. Doesn't feel safe. No water easily available. Dirty glass water bottle to be filled "down the hall at hydration station". No disposable cups. Tiny bathroom. Nowhere to put luggage. Cold bare concrete floors in room. Freezing cold. Feels unsafe with closing multiple fire doors that are shut throughout each hall. Customer service not great either.

Yelp
Front desk staff very friendly & welcoming. Bartender assisted with plasticware after restaurant closed for the night. Valet service was fast. GM Kendal Toles was very helpful in assisting with directions & hot spots in the area. Will definitely recommend!

Yelp
Great stay! Clean rooms and common areas. The bar served good drinks and the staff are excellent. Highly recommend if your are visiting NOLA.

Yelp
The worse! If you want lazy, shiftless, uncaring "service" coupled with a staff that could care less about you the client/customer this is the place for you! Once past the staff, the room had issues that they refused to address. After a phone call to the front desk that availed nothing and 3 hours had passed, I travelled to the front desk where I was told again that someone would come look at it! When I mentioned that I had already been told this the attendant got irritated with me. I then decided to move on and asked for directions to an ice machine. He then told me that there was one on each floor. So I asked where? Because I had looked everywhere on my floor. The attendant then said it's an ice machine on every floor except yours! Then I later found out in hotel literature, that there are only ice machines on odd numbered floors! I guess it wasn't important to him that I got the right information! Find yourself a better hotel to stay in!

Yelp
Corey at the bar... bang! If New Orleans was a Person!! Great Drinks and conversation. The hotel is clean and a short walking distance to the quarter. Great experience!

Yelp
They had a transfer room that was great and check-in was quick. I would give them a higher rate but I left my birthday card on the last night of my trip in my room... I called to notified them. They did said they didn't find it.. It was a big envelope so it can't be missed, of course there was money in it. I have traveled many places and I had never encountered this situation. It's not my first time in New Orlean.. The card was from my Mother. I took it so I can open it on my Birthday. Big mistake!! I report to Hilton as well, awaiting response.

Yelp
The room was excellent - clean and nicely decorated. The staff members were very friendly. The only exception was the restaurant downstairs. It was definitely understaffed. However, that would not prevent me from staying here again. There was also an issue with our air conditioning - thankfully it was not the in the heat of summer, or that might have been a problem.

Yelp
Complete disaster. Management team is completely useless, so much so that the entire team needs to be removed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to the homeless shelter. The valet situation is quite possibly the worst set up I have ever seen, it took an hour to get my vehicle and it cost $40. The room did not heat or cool and no one cared. Will never stay here again. This is how you treat a Hilton honors good member?

Naythea J.

Yelp
Pleasant and accommodating staff. Clean rooms. Close to the French quarter and bourbon street. Would stay there again

Fay E.

Yelp
Excellent hotel, amenities, and friendly staff. Secure inside and out. Large rooms. Good restaurant. Don't stay on the 14th floor though. Exercise room is on the 15th floor and the treadmill is in use early.

Yelp
Visited New Orleans this past weekend to celebrate an event in the city and stayed at the Canopy by Hilton New Orleans Downtown for 2 nights. This hotel is new and upcoming and I really enjoyed my stay here. The food at the hotel's restaurant, Ginger Roux was amazing as well as at the drinks at the bar. The rooms were clean, spacious, and decorated so cute! Not to mention the views of Canal St from my 11th floor room, superb. The location of the hotel is downtown in the midst of all the action so everything is accessible by foot. The next time I'm in the city, the Canopy will definitely be at the top of my list for lodging and eatery purposes.

Yelp
Excellent Service and delicious breakfast!!! A great place to stay in NOLA. My hubby and I wanted a staycation close to all the action.

Yelp
By far the greatest Hilton I have ever stayed at this place exceeds any expectation you could ever even hope for in a hotel I have stayed in so many Hiltons and I have been appalled by so many hiltons but they really changed my heart entirely and made me feel happy to have been a member with Hilton as long as I have that's why I say good things about the canopy there's no reason to ever stay at any other type of Hilton ever again and in my opinion I don't think any other Canopy could compete with this one just the staff alone makes this place magical every staff member from the front desk to the cleaning gals to the security guards and the maintenance man don't even get me started on the bartenders in the herbalist bar or holy crap let's begin with the Gordon Ramsay type five star service when it comes to a restaurant that's attached to a Hilton the restaurant there named Ginger Roux and the chefs that work there I can't even begin to tell you how incredible of service and men they were and women it was utterly incredible they fed me like a god I've never eaten food like that in my life and I've been to some amazing hiltons I've lived in Vegas hotels I've lived in hotels all around the country and nowhere has ever compared to the Hilton Canopy and the chefs in that restaurant and every single staff member that comes along with that place Barry the bartender incredible Felicia the bartender incredible Chef Allan Chef T holy crap two of the greatest chefs I've ever met in my life every single chef that works there incredible the front desk clerks Elliot all the ladies incredible even just a hospitality from one of the maintenance men there named Shong incredible. This place is a real gem and I personally think that every single other Hilton better start taking bit from Kendal the manager there cause he is clearly doing something right! I'm sure people will think I was paid to write this but the truth is I am the type of man that does whatever he wants and that's all over the world and travels around and meets all kinds of people and I do leave real comments about hotels and I have destroyed hotels like the troubadour right down the road and their nasty green eggs for 300 a night lol anyway rarely have I ever found somewhere that was Willing of my time and energy to write such an extensive review I truly believe the Canopy is the greatest hotel on this planet definitely in America thank you canopy New Orleans absolutely love all of you!!! Thank you Chefs!

Yelp
It was a very nice hotel everything was clean I know it was just refurbished probably about six months ago to one of the few buildings in downtown New Orleans that's occupied it seems like... But they do a great job the hotel is clean and the staff is friendly if you stay, do not park in the parking lot across the street!!!!! park in the garage or get valet other than that it was a great experience the hotel was exceptional in my standards

Yelp
The rooms are clean and nice, but everything else is ran in the worst way. Showed up at 3 to check in and there are only about 3 spots to park in front of hotel. Double parked and walked in and check in was slammed and desk agent didn't seemed to want to be bothered(short with guest and rolled her eyes several times at people not understanding her behind her mask). After about 30 mins we got our keys and went to room. Fast forward to the next day. Come down to grab a coffee, order a mocha, and take it to my room. It was very hot so I opened the lid to let it cool and found a rubber boot off a piece of equipment. Brought it back to the bar only to be told by another bartender that he shouldn't have made the mocha....... No apology, no let me take back the charge, just no words and here's another one no go away. Spend your money somewhere else, also don't bring cash because they don't take it.

Yelp
Not super excited about my stay at this property. It was adequate. Poor cleaning standards. Items in room sticky. Mini Fridge was basically a box with a light. 4 night stay, and housekeeping never showed once. Even had the same $20 on the counter every day thanking them for servicing the room. Smelled a little mildewish. Yikes. Couple of hairs under blanket. This seems to be a housekeeping / maintenance issue. I get the whole "staff shortage" thing but it's not like they've lowered pricing to accommodate.

Yelp
Excellent property in the heart of NOLA. The Canopy is in the center of everything and you can reach many points of interest by foot. ZP from the front desk was very accommodating letting us check in prior to 3pm as our flight arrived early. Kenneth from the onsite restaurant is very helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to everything New Orleans. He had great conversation and suggestions during our stay and made us aware of what areas to travel to and not. My friend and I are already planning our next visit and intend to stay at The Canopy Hilton again.

Yelp
I CANNOT say enough wonderful things about the staff. The front desk staff (ZP especially) were all excellent. We were greeted by JaQuan (security, bell man, valet- "Jack of all trades" that day), the bartenders (Barry) and housekeeping staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is fairly new and Hilton had a great vision for these Canopy hotels. Hip, modern, yet elegant as well. I love the concept of the revitalized building that incorporated both concrete floors with accent rugs. The bathrooms are great too- I love an awesome shower and you'll love these. We were upgraded to a suit that had a pull out sofa bed.... The cocktail list was wonderful with new drinks you don't find everywhere and the hotel restaurant, Ginger Roux has a great take on Cajun inspired Asian cuisine. It's also a descent walking distance to the quarter if you don't want to stay in the thick of it, close to the Superdome as well.

Yelp
From what I was told this hotel is fairly new so there is definitely room for improvement. The outside of the hotel and lobby decor were nice. The room was just ok. I liked the desk area that I was able to use for work. I didn't like the hard floors but understand that could be a personal preference for me. It gave me more motel vibes rather than hotel. The location is good. About a 5-10 minute walk to Canal/Bourbon Street. Close enough to get to the fun, but far enough not to be kept up all night with noise. I found a bra and underwear behind the desk area so obviously the housekeeping is just doing surface level cleaning. In my room, the heater was malfunctioning (in the middle of winter) and had to be repaired. I checked in late at night so maintenance wasn't available immediately but came the next morning to take care of it. Same with the TV (it wasn't hooked up correctly). The ice machine wasn't working (it was actually broken on at least 3 floors because I kept going to other floors looking for ice). I also had to ask for extra washcloths and towels 4 times over 2 days before I actually got them which was strange. The first day I called and waited over an hour and then had to leave for an appointment. When I came back I stopped in person at the desk and explained I called earlier but they never came. The gentleman was apologetic and said he would bring them to me, I still never got them. The following day I called twice and the fourth time was the charm that I actually got the towels. There's no microwave in the rooms and the fridge is pretty basic. I actually was concerned it wasn't cold enough so I didn't use it for food, just water. The restaurant was terrible and I would not recommend it all. Just walk to Canal Street and get better food at a better price. The staff was extremely friendly and did what they could when things went wrong. So I got lots of free cookies and sodas when I was inconvenienced. If it wasn't for the friendliness of the staff I probably would have given a lower rating. Overall, it was an average stay. If I needed a place to stay again and the price was still reasonable I would consider coming back. Hopefully once they are more established some of these kinks will be worked out.

Yelp
$45/night for valet which I guess is the norm around the quarter but be prepared to wait when you need your car. Gotta head to work? You're gonna have to wait, maybe 20 minutes smh. Hungry? The menu put in front of me had like 7 items to choose from. I had an $18/day allowance to spend at the hotel. 1 tiny bottle of disgusting Evain water is $6!!!!! 1 cookie, $4! 1 can of soda, $4!!!! What a joke. This hotel is less than 60 days open. I had insulation glue on my shower floor from the poor job the contractors did. The spray wand for the shower flat out did not work. My fridge didn't actually cool my drinks, and there was food dropped in the back of it from a previous stay. I considered leaving but I couldn't find a reasonably priced hotel close to my job. This was a very disappointing stay. Highlight of the trip was the bartender on my last night. She was cool and made a couple great drinks for me. I won't stay here again.

Yelp
The reviews indicated this was a nice, clean, newer, hotel. However, it's not a good hotel. Let's start with the view of graffiti outside the window. Sure I know they can't control the buildings around them, but you need to know it's that kind of place. Homeless, drug users are at the building next door sleeping or getting high. I was greeted by someone asking for money as soon as I exited the hotel. Yes, I saw them using drugs. No, it wasn't marijuana. What they could control was the cleanliness of the room. They did not. There was a hairball the size of a tarantula on the floor. The shower head was not assembled correctly so there was no water pressure. Apparently you have to ask to have the room cleaned each day or it's not done. That left me without an in-room coffee pod on day 2. Lastly the hallway from the elevator to the room smelled like dog pee and perfume.
