One of the most special places I've stayed throughout New Zealand, mostly due to the amazing hospitality of host Kit. Enjoy exclusive views on a private deck overlooking the mountains from a very shot bush walk, a secluded and beautifully built cabin with an upstairs bed overlooking native bush, unique toilet and shower and all thenspecial touches including fairy lights, indoor and outdoor fires, and much more. Can't recommend it more for an unplugged escape !

We had an amazing time at Top Hut. The proprietor was fantastic and made delicious preserves! She also made a mean caramel slice that she left in the fridge for us. On both nights we were there we were visited by Morepork Owls! Highly Recommend it!

The most beautiful and serene place to escape city life. Kit is the most fabulous host who made us feel so welcome and truly made us feel at home. She really has gone above and beyond. Top Hut is just gorgeous and full of so much character, it is truly unlike any accommodation I've ever stayed in. The surrounding beaches and native bush are a nature lovers dream! I can not speak highly enough of Top Hut and I can't wait to return.

This was the most magical getaway and well worth the drive. The attention to detail made us feel very pampered. All bedding and linen was high quality and made from either wool, cotton or linen.The beautiful hut was warm and cosy thanks to a quaint pot-belly stove with a plentiful supply of firewood. The wonderful hosts provided specialty teas, delicious baking, home- made jams and preserves, plus candles adding to a peaceful, natural ambience. It was living in the midst of natural bush with all that has to offer. We went to sleep and woke to the calls of native birds and really didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful nature haven. Special touches to make it a unique and magical experience. Kit has really created a home amongst the tree tops.. See kereru ruru and tuia off the deck. Great walks and a scenic walk through forest down to the stony beach. Loved it highly recommend for a special weekend away.

Stunning, all you could ask for and more! Excellent semi-remote location, gorgeous bush walks and stoney beaches within walking distance, would highly recommend, and will be visiting again!

The most beautiful place to stay. No TV,radio,internet just nature and quiet. Fresh baking on arrival was a lovely surprise.

This place is totally secluded and SO beautiful. Kit is such a great host, The fireplace was lots of fun!
