Canova Beach Park is one of the few beaches in Florida where you can bring your dog, and it’s a great option if you want to enjoy the ocean with your furry friend. The dog area is small but clean, with bags, trash bins, and rinse stations available. Everyone was friendly, and it was fun seeing other dogs enjoying the beach too.
For people, the beach is peaceful, not too crowded, and has picnic tables, bathrooms, showers, and easy access from the parking lot. The sand and water were clean, and we appreciated the relaxed atmosphere.
One thing to note: sometimes there are a few drunks hanging around the main entrance, which can feel uncomfortable, but there’s another entrance you can use that’s quieter and more laid-back.
The only other downside is that the dog beach section can feel a bit tight if it gets busy, and not everyone strictly follows the leash rules. If your dog needs more space or isn’t comfortable with other dogs approaching, it might be a little overwhelming at times.
Still, overall it’s a great local spot to enjoy the sun and surf with your pup. We’ll definitely be back
