The Hottest New Restaurants in Las Vegas, May 2024

"The new food hall’s most exciting restaurant is Tender Crush, a New York-style chicken tender spot from the founders of Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer. Other restaurants inside include Nama Nama, with made-to-order sushi rolls, Attaboy Burgers, cheesesteak chain Tony Luke’s, Southland Burrito Co., and Shogun Ramen." - Janna Karel

Google
1/5 Stars Tried Canteen Food Hall at Rio Casino and honestly, it was a letdown. We ordered the salmon poke for $21 and got the tuna (only 3 tiny pieces) for $12—definitely not worth the price. The food didn’t taste mediocre, the service was slow and unhelpful, and we waited way too long for what we got. Disappointing overall. There are way better food hall options in Vegas.

I ordered a carne asada bowl from the burrito station. They were out of carne asada so I chose the pork option. The bowl I received wasn't appetizing at all. My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak from the other station. The sandwich was incredibly dry. So much for convenience to eat at the hotel. Eat somewhere else!!

Yesterday, I visited an authentic Mexican burrito place at the food court in Rio’s Hotel. I made my own salad and it was very good. The service was great, the staff turned the kitchen upside down to find fresh lettuce for me, showing an incredible commitment to customer satisfaction. I recommend this place not only for a fast, good and healthy food but also for the great service.

Pretty nice brand new food hall. I tried Tender crush and had the Hot crush chicken sandwich which was really good and the crispy tenders which were just ok but pretty small. I also had the double atta boy burger which was delicious.

Had a poke bowl, the plate was 3 times larger than the food. My salmon roll smelled so bad and after a small taste I threw the whole roll out. How can people sell bad fish. It's a shame these hotels make huge money from casinos but can't provide some good dinning areas.

I go to Nama Nama at least 2x a week and I never have a problem there absalon is really a good guy he makes me and my wife feel very welcome but today I believe her name was jazz was getting a attitude with absalon because she was putting the orders in wrong and he was giving people the wrong orders I just think it was very unprofessional of her to say anything to him in front of customers when it was her fault. GOOD JOB ABSALON KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK SEE YOU NEXT WEEK oh and the one star for service isn't for absalon it's for jazz I give absalon a 100000000%

Yelp
Another epic disaster of a food hall, just like Proper Eats at Aria. The Rio actually thought it was a good idea to replace one of the best buffet in Vegas with this mediocre excuse for it? This is exactly why I have not been back to the Rio since before COVID. I didn't want to come here today but the Rio sent me $25 free slot play and a $10 dining credit so I thought I would try it. It did not impress. Another greedy Vegas hotel trying to get more money out of people for less food. They should have left the buffet as it was. That was when the Rio was a fun place to visit. Now it's just a sad relic of its former self. It was obvious by how few people were walking around here today. I'll be back for the free slot play (if they send me some) but not for this boring food hall. As for the Rio itself, this hotel has definitely seen better days. Dare I say but this place is starting to look more and more like shithole ghetto Circus Circus.

Yelp
Tried 4 of their 6 restaurants on the opening weekend. The Food hall is nicely designed with a pretty good variety of selection. Cool ramen bar set up like a Japanese street ramen stall. Five stars for the overall experience and friendly staff. Happy to see this new place at Rio! (but still sad about the buffet is gone) Attaboy Burger 8/10 Got a double smash burger and onion rings, the burger tasted good, but the bun was a bit soggy, not toasty enough. I think that depends on who made the burger, so they need to do better on the quality control. No complaint about the onion rings, stringy thin type, well fried. Will get their 50/50 next time to also try their seasoned fries. Tender Crush 6.5/10 This place was overhyped. Got the 32nd street BBQ, the chicken tenders were not crispy and they were smothered in sauce. Can't taste the chicken at all, just a BBQ type of sauce with soggy meat bite. The seasoned waffle fries was good, big portion and very filling with a good crunch. Also tried their softserve custard with black and white cookie crumbs. The custard (ice cream) was good, but this was not a good combo, the topping added nothing to it. Tony Luke's 8/10 They were out of their signature Pork Sandwich, went with their Beef pizza cheesesteak. It was good but nothing "pizza" about it other than a hint of the pizza sauce in it. Shogun Ramen 8/10 Got the Shogun Ramen, Chicken and Pork broth was a bit on the salty side, but it's a good quality bowl of ramen. Noodles has good texture, chashu was good but didn't blow me away. Decent choice. Nama Nama (sushi) Didn't try. Southland Burrito Co Didn't try. Heard good things about it. Will try next time. The price is not as high as strip hotels, but also not cheap. Since Rio has free parking (Food Hall also located right by the garage), if you are in the neighborhood, go check it out.

Yelp
The Rio is starting to breathe some life back into its property with the addition of the canteen food hall. This new concept to their property is a good one to start their larger undertaking of renovations. Attaboy burger gave a pretty solid choice for a takeout burger. Southland burrito co was also a simple but solid choice for an inexpensive meal or snack. The other options weren't tried but looked great and will consider at a later date.

Yelp
Went to the Rio to check out their newly opened Canteen Food Hall and was disappointed by the unpreparedness of their stalls: Shogun Ramen had no nitamago (ramen eggs) and Nama Nama Sushi ran out of yellow tail. In summary, we left and looked for better options immediately. ‍

Yelp
You ask, two stars why ? Saw all the hype on this place when it opened but since new we waited a short time to go and give it a try so they could get settled in and working out the bugs. What a mistake that was. We walked in and the place was so tiny. It was busy and crowded. First thing we noticed was there was very little seating area. They have plenty of room to add more. We had to wait to find a table. Second the lines at the stations to get food were long and then you still had to wait to get food order. All in all about 35 minutes from start to finish waiting. We only ordered from one place and that was "Attaboy Burger". Ordered a single burger plain, a double cheeseburger with everything, a 50/50 fry's/onion rings, a root beer float and a drink. Total was over $30 bucks. Let's put it this way, not worth the price. Burgers were ok, fry's were curly and ok which they give you plenty of. Onion rings were ok but only gave you six small ones. Not really a 50/50 deal. The root beer float was small and but only $2 bucks if you get with combo meal otherwise it's $8 bucks. There drinks are $5 bucks for like a medium size anywhere else. Not saying I would not go back as I talked to other people there about the Ramen place and they said it was good. Will try that next to see but will bring my own drinks with me. May give the other places a try to in the future.
