"The Tivoli Village location shuttered over the weekend. Fans of Canter’s Deli impatiently waited more than a year for the famous delicatessen to return to Las Vegas after departing Treasure Island near the sports book in 2012. Now the Los Angeles standby closes the doors on one of its locations after less than one year in business. The deli tells fans on Facebook that it plans to move its Tivoli Village restaurant to a new location without indicating where. Canter’s Deli also has a home at The Linq Promenade on the Strip as well. Tivoli Village claims it booted Canter’s Deli due to 'lack of payment of rent over last four months and poor management of the operation. Canter’s was targeting to be turning a revenue of over $2 million in its first year on site, yet repeatedly failed to live up to its obligations leaving the landlord no option but to begin with the removal process this weekend. We look forward to welcoming better operators with higher standards and a better fit for Tivoli Village,' says Philip Knott, general manager of Tivoli Village. The 6,300-square-foot restaurant at Tivoli Village featured room for 200 diners indoors and another 45 outside on the patio. Owner Kevin Jeffers even created a replica of Canter’s founder Art Mortimer’s 1985 mural, Canter’s signature Baker Boy neon sign, and black and white photographs documenting the 86-year history of the original delicatessen. Memorabilia around the restaurant showcased pieces from former Los Angeles Dodgers coach Tommy Lasorda, former Lakers point guard Magic Johnson, Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, former Cubs shortstop and first baseman Ernie Banks, 'Mr. October' Reggie Jackson, 'The Yankee Clipper' Joe DiMaggio and former Dodgers right fielder Shawn Green." - Susan Stapleton

Excellent deli...great location...they serve half sours!!! The pastrami is sliced a little thicker the way we like it.... Extensive menu and variety of options. Try the pastrami chips unusual but great. The bakery side was just okay in the amount of items they offered. Service was excellent.

Went there at 7 p.m. on a Monday night the place was totally empty. My husband and I placed an order for two items and both two items were messed up! We paid $5 for a hot dog that was old cold and resembled a slim jim beef jerky stick. Carmen who took our order couldn't seem to communicate or understand exactly what we were asking for. We did not have a complicated order. A plain croissant and a plain hot dog was all we ordered. The incompetence and the price are just not worth going back in. To experience such a let-down when you've been to the locations in California to go to the location like this in Las Vegas hoping for the same quality. Is just sad. Here's a picture of a $5 hot dog!!!!

The food was made fresh and almost all of the bread and bagels are made on the premises. You can go to the counter for self service or you can be taken care of in the dinning room for the same price. You can get almost anything to go from the server. I'm told that they are closed.

Food is super good. Canter's is slightly more $ but you really get your monies worth.

Venerable LA institution finally with a Las Vegas outpost. All the deli classics well executed. Come for a guaranteed great lunch or breakfast.

I enjoyed not having to share my pickle and tomato appetizer plate when I stopped here to eat solo. I ordered the Kevin Special with pastrami, and it was huge. I could only eat half so I am taking the other half to my daughter and I actually saved her a pickle too. I have never been to Canters in LA so I have no point of comparison, but I did over hear some folks come in and were disappointed that the menu here was not as extensive as LA. It was explained they just brought the best selling items to Las Vegas. Once they received their food they were delighted that the quality was the same. I will be back to try breakfast.

I've been to this Canters location twice. I had amazing corned beef and pastrami sandwiches. Once with a macaroni salad and the second time with potato salad. Service was quick, the food was delicious. (Although, I'd stay away from the chocolate cake in the future and my first time, they'd run out of their delicious corn beef). I'll definitely be a regular and I'm so glad Center's opened a Vegas location. 👍
