The 16 Best Restaurants In Northern Liberties - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"You’re a simple person with simple needs. All you’re looking for is a fun space that’s big enough for a group and access to margaritas by the pitcher. Cantina dos Segundos provides both of these things. Get a few orders of nachos topped with roasted corn, black beans, pickled jalapeños, and pepper jack cheese, and try out as many tequilas as you want (they keep over 100 varieties on hand). Afterwards, head a few doors down for a few frames and some tater tots at North Bowl, which may become your new favorite nightcap." - candis mclean, alison kessler

The 18 Best Margaritas In Philadelphia

"Some people collect vinyl, baseball cards, and Star Wars replica lightsabers. At Fishtown’s Cantina Dos Segundos, they must be collecting tequila, since they have over 100 options. Whenever you come to this Mexican restaurant, you’ll likely find it full of groups of friends and coworkers trying to decide whether to order a pitcher of pineapple or prickly pear margaritas. All of the house margaritas are made with fruit puree, which makes them taste extremely fresh, and they’ll always have seasonal flavors, like rosé cider and a cinnamon-forward—but still refreshing—pumpkin spice." - candis mclean

Me and the missus bring our margarita hunt to NoLibs and Cantina Dos Segundos. Nice sidewalk patio, stiff margs, pleasant staff. Plantains are dynamite. Great guacamole and salsa. In the middle of the NoLibs scene.

Stopped in for late night eats earlier this week since we hadn't eaten dinner and we were in the neighborhood. This place always has good options, good drinks and a nice vibe - same news true even though it was a Monday night. Bartender/waitress was cool, helpful in providing another menu option and had good energy in serving us drinks/food. We ordered things to share: Guacamole Tradicional, Achiote Chicken Tacos, Alas de Pollo (chicken wings) in habanero buffalo and we wanted something else that I can't remember but was suggested this other option of the Shrimp which we went with. Of course, we ordered some margaritas and has a couple of shots as well. As always, everything was great! Food came out hot, flavorful, tasty and definitely filling. Drinks definitely had liquor in it lol, but not in an overpowering way - they were made really well. Will be back of course and recommend anyone to check them out.

Cantina Dos Segundos is a lively spot for Mexican food and drinks! The margaritas are refreshing, and the outdoor seating is perfect for a sunny day. I love coming here with friends for a fun night out!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 100-Star Review for Faith at Cantina Dos Segundos Our dining experience at Cantina Dos Segundos, located at 931 N. 2nd St, Philly, PA, was truly exceptional, thanks to Faith, our server. Faith went above and beyond in every aspect, showcasing a great personality and attentiveness that made our evening unforgettable. Her interactions were not only perfect but also incredibly funny, adding a delightful touch to our dinner. Faith's service was impeccable; she brought our drinks, which were amazing, and even provided a little saucer of salt that I absolutely loved. That extra touch made my dinner special and memorable. My wife and I would ABSOLUTELY return to Cantina Dos Segundos just to see Faith again. While the food was amazing and the drinks spectacular, nothing could compare to Faith's fun personality. She truly exemplifies excellence in service at its best. Thank you, Faith, for showing my wife and me what excellence is, and impressing our friends equally. We look forward to our next visit! The ambiance was nice on the outdoor patio. We had the carnitas tacos, they were good. The chicken and chorizo empanadas (a bit spicy), the guac was good but the serving was very small for two. The Esquitas were not the best. We also ordered mocktail margaritas, they were decent.

We generally go here every year when we're in town for a music fest. Every other time has been fantastic, but this time, not so much. I'll start with the good, the food was incredible as always. Great vegan options! The music was nice too. The downside was the server. It was clear from the word go they didn't want to deal with us. We weren't a small group, but weren't large and definitely weren't difficult to deal with as all of us have spent time in the service industry at some point. This person couldn't be bothered to do anything and was obviously put off whenever asked something. I know we all have bad days, so benefit of the doubt here.

Google
My main issue was how disorganized and chaotic it is here. I was originally going to make a reservation for the specific reason of hating putting my name down and waiting, but I originally didn't see that option on their site. HOWEVER, their process for walk-ins reminds of college bars. You put your name down, they write it on a slip of receipt paper... But there's more than 1 piece of receipt paper floating about. They don't text you, just walk around yelling names and being confused with each other about who called who. Several tables stood empty, some because they just haven't cleaned it off in 10 minutes. You have to stand in a long que to get in. Though not their fault, the majority of the clientele stands in front of either bars after they've ordered and have gotten their food and drinks, and don't move because I guess no one else wants to order in their minds. The food was okay, we generally order a whole bunch for the table tapas style. I have a serious problem when a Mexican place charges for chips & salsa, generally if I see that I know it's a high chance I'll be disappointed by the food. I must have skipped over that the chicken empanadas had corn in them, wasn't a fan. The carne asada in the chimichangas was good, but it was less a chimichanga, more a burrito. The Mexican style tacos were good, however I was disappointed by flour tortillas. The tamarindo wings were okay. Was a fair bit disappointed with how small the margarita pitchers were, flavors were good and more tart than sweet. Possibly the issue was the day it was, but I'm not sure I'd give it another go on a chiller night.

Google
Came here before a show at the Fillmore because it’s an 8 minute walk and the restaurants in the immediate area of the venue are limited. Great menu options, great margarita menu, too. The vegan chorizo tacos are phenomenal, the chicken tacos are just so-so. Service is super friendly and on top of things. Will be back when I’m back for another show.

Yelp
The mango shrimp ceviche special was a great choice for me but the waiter we had suggested the soft tacos. This was a bomb suggestion to include tacos. I don't think this dish does as well without hard or soft shell tacos included. I was with a new friend and he enjoyed his meal too. We both had margaritas we enjoyed - he had regular lime on the rocks and I did frozen grapefruit. I didn't mind the chips, but my friend did not care for them. I wasn't like omg, but it wasn't bad for me. One of my fellow reviewer's reviews popping up on the side says he Loves the chips. I remember he also tends to like simpler things usually and I tend to like more complex or experimental food arrangements. The other reviews seem mixed and it seems to depend what you get sorta thing or "the day". Near the end of our experience, we reminded waiter that he said he'd comp us our first drinks since he felt bad for us waiting with all the positive chaos of the local festival outside. He was out of it and didn't seem to want us there anymore. I hope he has better days in the future. I still tipped really well with the comped drinks. This restaurant seems to support and be a favorite for the lgbt community but l felt unnerved a bit after my experience. My friend left his shades there and he didn't feel comfortable asking the staff when we went back in to check. He did ask a few patrons.

Yelp
My friends love a Tex Mex spot...so here we are. Nice quaint spot with an artsy atmosphere. I ordered nachos. Yes, I love good nachos and they were...good. Friends had some mishaps with their order but staff were quick and pleasant when making corrections. I did enjoy the server, he had good energy and we got to chat about some shows we both enjoyed. Again, not a Tex Mex fan but I'm grateful I can always find something on the menu to try.

Yelp
Cute little place with nice accoutrements and a typical yet diverse menu. Unfortunately, it's the type of place that' might be up to something undcruoulous, and should be on the radar of the Department of Weights and Measures, who should probably review their practices. For example, They charged us over $31 for a small pitcher of Margarita, yet nobody at the table was convinced there was any tequila/alcohol in the pitcher at all. It's a pretty low level way for a venue to cut costs, and this was overt and disheartening, and so obvious that it needs to be investigated.

Yelp
My first time visiting Dos Segundos was great! I tried the Chicken Chimichanga and my go-to, spicy margarita! Both were great and our bartender/server Matt was truly a gem! Matt's energy, recommendations and just overall presence made the visit enjoyable! The food was filling, margarita (and shots) just right! My next visit was the next day, I immediately knew where I was going after work! I tried the chicken tacos made with flour tortillas and they were GREAT! I decided to try different margaritas this time. With their wide selection of tequila, you can't go wrong with drink choices here! Justin & Matt are both great bartenders! Their recommendations, knowledge and passion for what they do is shown. The ambiance itself is cool! Dim lighting, music is at appropriate level, and the energy in the place has been great each visit!

Yelp
My bf and I love coming here for dinner. We never make it in time for happy hour and never tried brunch, but their dinner menu is great. Love the ambiance and the staff are all very friendly. Multitaskers. One night my waitress was also the host. Last night my water was also a bartender. Busy but still very attentive! Nachos are good and easy appetizer to share for a few bucks. Both the red and green are spicy. We love the chopped salad and ordered it twice. Once with grilled chicken and the other time with shrimp. Delicious and a dish I highly recommend sharing and pairing with something else. The enchiladas verde that's on their special is a hit! Delicious, filling and flavorful! The chicken quesadilla in the other hand gets two thumbs down. Wasn't terrible but not a dish we would reorder. Love their city wide specials and a great date night spot!

Yelp
Perfect place to go for a late dinner with a group of friends on a Friday night. Cute interior with moody lighting, delicious margaritas, and good tacos. Wait wasn't too long either. Not the cheapest place, but would gladly go back for a good dining experience.

Yelp
Good drinks, great for large parties though we got overcharged for drinks. Service was really spotty. Fajitas were interesting - never had carne asada with mushrooms. Overall, food was okay. Definitely try the elotes.

Yelp
food and ambiance is amazing. this is my go to spot as its open late and have a variety of options. Service is great as well. the sauce that is served with the vegan empanadas is a personal favorite. Vegan quesadillas, normal quesadilla and burrito had great portion sizes and plating.

Yelp
So I came last with my partner last night prior to going to going to North Bowl. It was disappointing. I order garlic shrimp fajitas and man for $24 dollars I was excited. First off, the presentation was on a simple white plate, which was the first indicator that it wasn't going to be that good. The garlic shrimps flavor was non-existent. It was almost that they just threw it in with the the veggies and called it a day. There was a decent amount of shrimp, but I would seriously skip it . However, they did have a lot of veggie and vegan options which is nice. My partner ordered the vegan chorizo chimichanga and he really liked it though.

Yelp
A quick review of a quaint Mexican restaurant in Philly we visited just recently. We stopped by here for a quick early meal before heading over to the aquarium. This place reminded me of one of those funky joints you see on Diners Drive ins and Dives, lol! This was a no frills experience as the restaurant was clean and decorated with eclectic vibes. Service was fast and friendly, but we were one of two parties there, so I can't speak to how things operate when busy. My daughters pancakes were light and fluffy. My chilaquiles dish was enjoyable, and the tofu scramble my wife had she liked to boot. The food was tasty and well prepared, but nothing earth-shattering. It was a good scratch made meal for you that we appreciated and would not have an issue returning to try some of their other items. Cheers to all!!!

Yelp
A traditional Mexican restaurant in a wonderful part of the city. I came in for lunch on a Saturday and it was fairly empty. We had quick service and were impressed with the food received. My table ordered the chips and dip and various quesadillas. Everyone raved about how delicious the food was.

Yelp
Parked in a nearby lot and had every intention on going bowling as we were walking to the bowling alley. We saw this restaurant as well as the menu outside and both said that if there's a wait we're gonna come back and eat at this restaurant and forget about bowling well there was a wait and we were able to go back to the restaurant and were immediately seated. Our server was really friendly and relatively new, but still awesome. The decor was subtle and had an authentic look inside. The music was spot on for me, idk who was controlling the music but it kept me there even longer. I did see a bar and seating area when you initially walk in. We sat in the dining area because we were a bit chilly and was told it would be warmer and it was. We noticed that there's a back door leading to another outdoor dining area. It looked really cute from where we sat. Now onto the food!!! Elote-I was only expecting one but instead received 2 nice sized corns that had the perfect taste and the right amount of everything on them with a perfect grilled taste to them as well. I was told that the Chimichanga was different but still good. I had the crab taco, and OMG let me just say this will be my go to place for some good Mexican food. Everything tasted so good; everything had flavor and tasted like something. The churros were good, wished the chocolate came on the side m, instead of drizzled all over them. Our drinks were really good, we really enjoyed the pineapple and mango flavored drinks.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and Sunday afternoon. I need some drink but after eat here I'm going to see movie so can't drink alcohol so just eat. I usually order taco at Mexican restaurants no matter what but today I just want to eat veggies so I order kale salad with chicken . It was good choice. Kale with cauliflower and squash and raisins. And chicken oh what a great choice I made... I love here kale salad. If I'm back here order will be same... may be other topping but kale salad definitely I order again...
google avatar

Yelp
SO GOOD! A friend recommended this spot after other plans fell through and it was a great experience. We were seated inside at first, and when we told someone we would like to sit outside, they brought us right out (and apparently this was the boss of the place LOL, super cool person). Our server was awesome and helpful, and recommended the vegan jackfruit tacos which BANGED. I'm really happy they had a vegan option right on display, it made deciding on a meal way easier for me. All in all we had a lovely evening here, and I would absolutely come back for their drag brunch or another dinner any time!

Yelp
For all the vegans, this used to be the best vegan spot for Mexican food but they recently got rid of most of the vegan options. Don't trust the older reviews as they are out of date. Maybe try Bar bombon or Loco Pez instead.
google avatar

J K.

Yelp
They have the best vegan nachos in my opinion. They give you a pan of nachos and it's definitely worth the price. Quesadilla's and burrito bowls are good too! Our favorite is the nachos though. Food has always been hot when delivered.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Probably my favorite Mexican spot in this area! Big portions of flavorful food with so many different options. The chicken empanadas come with 2 pieces, deep fried and filled with shredded chicken and corn. I tried the seafood fajitas which was one of their specials of the day. The vegetables were grilled perfectly and complemented the rice, refried bean, guacamole and tomatoes. The short rib empanadas were smothered in sauce and they did not skimp on the filling. I was also pleasantly surprised with the chips and salsa, it came with one red and one verde salsa both delicious! The margaritas are flavored with real muddled fruit, however the menu does not say what brand of tequila is used. Definitely putting this spot on my rotation! They do a great happy hour and are also open late night!

Yelp
Fun place located in the heart of Northern Liberties between Laurel and Poplar St. Seating was available without reservation on a Saturday night. The Corn Gazpacho, chips and salsa and guacamole were great. Cantina Dos Segundos is a hit!

Yelp
Post *Pandemic trip to Dos Segundos was wonderful. Ordered takeout during the pandemic and it was eh. Cold food, too creasy, etc. Not surprised for take out, but had to give them any other try when we could dine in...so we did! What we snagged: -Guacamole (Tasty and filling) -Chicken Empanadas (VERY good) -Enchiladas in Verde -Steak Burrito (Large and in charge) Great experience overall. Drinks were good, but lacked tequila. A heavier hand would be nice. Sad to be moving out of the neighborhood soon, but recommend this joint for any date night. *Not really post pandemic as the Delta variant is on the rise. Get vaccinated and save lives.

Yelp
Overpriced and uninspired. Came here for their restaurant week deal but don't think it's worth the hype. This place is located in No. Libs, and the surrounding area is poppin' with restaurants and shops. We found easy street parking a block away and walked over. Walking in - they have the motif down. Cozy, comfy, easy, breezy. No indoor dining was being conducted currently, but they have two outdoor spaces - one out front and one patio area in the back. We chose the back patio to better social distance - but overall the space is fairly large to hold a good sized crowd. When our waitress led us to the back, she told us that all ordering is to occur up front along with payment and then the food is served table side. It was more of a fast casual set up than full service. That being said, there is a mandatory 20% gratuity added to your bill - which seemed high for a non full service establishment. When viewing their regular menu and their restaurant week menu, the veggie friendly items were sufficient but nothing I haven't had in other TexMex spots around town. We did one meal following the restaurant week menu and then another off their regular menu. I ordered off the restaurant week menu choosing the vegan elotes, vegan burrito (with seitan and grilled pineapple) and finishing off with the vegan flan. My girlfriend ordered the veggie quesadillas (adding in black beans), the black bean soup, and the tres leches cake. Overall the food was OK. It did need some help with the different salsas and hot sauces they have out to provide some needed heat to the meal. Nothing spectacular, but palatable. The portions were also were the right size though. Though the back patio was well set up, there wasn't any music to set a good ambiance. I saw a speaker system set up on the overlooking balcony but no DJ to be found to crank the tunes. Also everything was served in to-go containers and plastic cutlery provided, which again adds to the fast casual experience but full service price gripe I'm feeling. So overall, probably fine to skip out on this place and go for where you think your money is better spent. COVID review: masks required while moving around and allowed to be off during dining. I don't remember seeing hand sanitizer at check in. Workers were wearing masks and practicing social distancing as best as possible.
google avatar

Roxanne M.

Yelp
It took me months to leave a review because this place didn't leave a huge impression on me.The nachos were okay but they didn't have enough toppings & not enough flavor. My bf thought his quesadilla was regular. The service was good, nothing to rave about. The restaurant was cool. Average restaurant.
google avatar

Vinita B.

Yelp
We did a combination of the restaurant week menu and the regular menu, and ordered the seitan burrito and quesadilla. For appetizers we had the black bean soup and vegan elotes. For dessert we had the vegan flan, which wasn't good, and the berry tres leches, which was amazing. For the most part, the food and drinks were good, and the outdoor patio seating has a nice vibe with lights and umbrellas. However, I thought the food was a bit overpriced for what it was. The food is served in plastic and paper to-go containers even for dine-in. There's a 20% gratuity applied to all orders, but you have to walk up to the counter to order and there's no one really waiting tables or checking on us during the meal. The experience was pretty underwhelming, so unless there's an improvement in service and presentation, we probably won't be going back soon.
google avatar

Lauren I.

Yelp
I don't understand how people can go to Restaurant Week and expect the same portions (which are still big -- it boggles my mind what people think a "serving" is these days), service (obviously it's going to be a crazier experience since they're serving more people), or menu options as normal. If you want more, pay more? Anyway, Cantina Dos Segundos is exactly what you expect from a "cantina" in the States. It's nothing to write home about, but the flavors are familiar, the portions are huge, the drinks are strong, and the service is casual. Just be nice to the staff! They're human too and actually great fun if you give them positive energy to reciprocate.
google avatar

Kara A.

Yelp
I live in NoLib & this is my go to restaurant. Love everything I've tried (except the dessert for whatever reason) & am so grateful that they have so many vegan options. The vegan wings here are my favorite in Philly.

Yelp
What a fun and cute restaurant. It's always grabbed my eyes with their lights and outdoor set up, so finally I tried it out. The best part too is they are open till 11pm on the weekdays which was perfect because as the night got the best of us we were running out of dining options and stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad we did. We were greeted, showed our vaccine cards, abs immediately sat. They have a specials menu, which is highly recommend checking out. We also got lucky as they had Espolon Drink Specials which came with free swag. We ordered the Chicken Enchiladas with Rojo Sauce that came with refried beans and Mexican rice. The enchiladas were good, somewhat basic as we felt the chicken wasn't the best marinated. I think if the rojo sauce was added inside it would be a knock out. However, what was a huge knock out were the fried beans! I know, I know, I'm sitting here bragging about refried beans, BUT holy moly they were phenomenal. I also had a bowl with Carne Asada, black beans, Mexican rice, pickled jalapeños, pickled onions, and guacamole. The bowl is basic and it's a $1 to add stuff into it. Nothing to go crazy about, but the Carne Asada was cooked beautifully: it had a great char to it. However, next time I'll definitely go with refried beans instead. Overall, we had a great dining experience accompanied by great food and drinks. Will definitely be coming back to this NoLibs staple.

Yelp
Short rib enchiladas on special were excellent. Attentive staff. Dark chill vibe. Worth the ride.

Yelp
Great option for late night meal if you're looking for something outside of pizza or chicken wings.

Yelp
Food was fairly good but the atmosphere did not wow me. It was good for a quick bite but not fantastic.

Yelp
So happy I found this place! My boyfriend and I were craving Mexican food one night and this was one of the only places open, since then it has become one of our favorites. I will say that the service isn't always the best, however like I said we usually go late at night when it appears the servers have a lot of tables so I understand. The ambiance is super cute too. I attached some pics of the food from when we've eaten there. The food is AMAZING. I would definitely recommend the steak quesadillas, fajitas, and one time we tried the chicken and corn empanadas which were very good. Can't wait to come back to this place!

Jen A.

Yelp
This place has amazing tacos!!! I ordered the chicken tacos and my boyfriend ordered the birria. Both were so good. And they are open until 1am. Tres leches for dessert was so delicious as well. And the decor inside was so cute. Would come again.

Yelp
What a cute place! First off any place where you can easily reserve a table for ten during Sunday brunch online is amazing. Downside is we had to wait for the previous party if 16 to clear out so we waited about ten minutes past our reservation time before we sat. The high chairs for the two small kids were ready but not cleaned well enough. Our server was friendly, patient and attentive. We started with the included chips and salsa. I also ordered queso fundido and a pitcher of margaritas El Corazon. Whoa! That was amazing with blood orange, pomegranate and passion fruit plus a hit of Serrano pepper. (Alert - we ended up ordering a second one to go with the food.) The menu had solid brunch options. Our vegetarian friends ordered pancakes. Most had tacos or burritos. We loved ours with tender and flavorful goat. We also got a small side of greens with carrots and radish. I'm still pretty sad I didn't get churros but there was that second pitcher. Oh I tried their michelada since I'm on a current kick. It was nice and spicy. The bill wasn't too bad $200 for seven adults and three kids. No drama to split in four ways on credit cards and no automatic gratuity. I'll definitely return withh a large party.

Steph C.

Yelp
The food is okay. Nothing to write home about. Not impressed at all with the value, and portions are too small. A burrito is $15 with just rice, beans and meat (dry as a bone). Every single additional ingredient is a $1-3 upcharge, even the basic stuff like lettuce, corn, salsa, cheese, pico. You can't get a decent burrito for under $18-20, and it's not any better than chipotle.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
I'm updating my review because I went back and the food was excellent (as always) AND the service greatly improved. Very friendly & attentive. I look forward to more visits soon!

Yelp
My gf and I were super excited to try this place for brunch. Tried calling ahead for seating but first come first serve. They open at noon on Saturdays. We got there around 12:15 pm and the doors were closed. We had to call the restaurant to let us in. First we ordered drinks (White sangria and bloody Maria) and both were 5/10 not great. We also ordered chips and salsa and neither was good appetizing. Gauc was ok (pretty runny). The chips tasted like they were from a store. I ordered the bfast burrito 7/10 not bad and the chicken empanadas were 8/10. Prices were reasonable but probably won't return.

Yelp
Lots of vegan options! Fun vibe and great vegan empanadas. Happy hour is a great deal. Also enjoyed the black bean sopa.

Yelp
Wide variety and many options for vegans! Restaurant has huge portions and came very fast! Waiter was very friendly. The guacamole was fresh and delicious although a little small to share for 4. The place was clean and had cute decorations. We had the fajitas, burrito, and chimichanga all were really good!

Yelp
Best brunch in Philly! Great food and great margaritas. Every time I visit, I go here for a breakfast burrito- the potatoes are UNREAL.

Yelp
This place is a cute whole in the wall spot. I ordered a Paloma and it was an interesting drink. It tasted good for something new I've tried. The tacos were pretty good and I like that they do two shells because it got a little greasy with the juices. I wish the lines were cut better because it was hard to get juice out of them. All in all a good place. You have to pay ahead and they charge 20% gratuity automatically.

Yelp
One of my favorites places in the city. Food, drinks, and ambiance are all really good. I love the vegan cheesesteak burrito and have been ordering it for years!

Yelp
Ahh Dos! A buddy of mine posted a dish from here on his Instagram, I wanna say 2014, and it looked amazing. Since seeing that post, my wife and I would go here faithfully. Everything was amazing, from the food to the ambiance. The dishes felt very authentic; especially the beef empanadas and the platanos dish. However, overtime, it seems as if there's new management: the tortilla chips went from tasting fresh to maybe store-bought, they've gotten rid of the beef empanadas(!!!), and they've included, what seems random to us, a few fusion dishes, like poutine. Honestly, seeing poutine on a Mexican-themed restaurant's menu was a bit weird, but nonetheless, we had to try them. However, while they were good, I wish that the chef would have captured a more complete concept of poutine to apply to this dish. Since then, we haven't been back to Dos, but it appears that they may have added beef empanadas back onto the menu. So, my wife and I will have to visit to confirm, in the hopes of Dos Segundos becoming one of our favorite restaurants again.

Yelp
This has always been one of my favorite places to visit. Delicious margaritas and incredible vegetarian/vegan options! Was here recently and left feeling differently than previous experiences. Even though there are specific ordering instructions there were still some hiccups with our order. In lieu of the mishaps our service was wonderful! And our server took really great care of us. The deduction in stars had nothing to do with the service or food. Everything was absolutely delicious! However, We were blown away by the state their bathrooms were in. Philadelphia is one of of most strict cities when it comes to Covid, so how this was overlooked BAFFLES me! Sadly my friends who I was with had never been there before and I really hyped up this place prior to our visit. We were pretty disgusted by the bathrooms, besides being an eye sore it's a health hazard when you have used tampons laying on the floor. Please someone address and fix this problem!

Yelp
I'm happy to report that Dos Segundos lived up to its high Yelp rating! It is a bit pricey especially considering we dined in and our meals were served in plastic & paper containers (I understand that they're operating in a Covid environment but I've dined several places where glassware was used). Nonetheless once we sunk our teeth into the fried brussel sprouts, we were satisfied! Especially loved the cheese & sauce on the sprouts which differentiated them from the generic brussel sprouts appetizer offered on most menus. The shrimp quesadillas were really good & filling as well as the mango margarita pitcher (although again, the upcharge for the next level 1800 tequila was pretty high at an additional $14). Outside dining only, however, they do have heat lamps which helped keep us plenty warm.

Yelp
When my group first got here, we had to wait quite a long while for anyone to come talk to us, ask us anything so not off to a great start but got better. Later staff here was able to roll with the punches and maintain politeness/professionalism because i have to be honest, i was with a pretty obnoxious group that evening, already drunk from earlier in the night and in desperate need of food high in fat and carbohydrates buy annoyingly indecisive. This was a Thursday night and they were able to seat our group of 8 pretty quickly. They were also efficient. Someone finally ordered the shrimp appetizer. Definitely not shareable: came with 3 shrimp (were very good though), rice (this rice was just ok, nothing special) and black beans...I would get these black beans on their own, they were amazing. We got 2 pitchers of margaritas for the table: one frozen and the other on the rocks. Loved these, especially the one on the rocks. Had the perfect balance of sweet and tang and didn't skimp too much on tequila. The waiter put salt or sugar on each person's glass to their preference. (someone at the table wanted both sugar and salt...I'm more of a salt kind of girl). My friend who isn't super into mexican food loved her la poutina (I definitely agree with her assessment), the cabrito bowl was also a table favorite. I would say this place is great for groups but pretty noisy so maybe not the best first date spot. I would definitely come back because the menu seemed great and I love that there's seitan options.

Yelp
I've been here three times. Americanized Mexican food but is well presented. The drinks are what really stand out; strong and well priced. Menu allows you to have the same item in different combinations (bowl, burrito, taco etc.). It's very interesting. I prefer the chicken and carne asada tacos. Ambiance is very loud, much more than I expected. I guess this depends what time of the day you go.

Yelp
Fun little spot. Tasty food and lively atmosphere. So this was about the third or fourth stop of the night, and I had been eating and drinking at every place we visited up to this point. I really wasn't planning on eating much here. But, you know, alcohol happened, and that naturally led to uncontrolled drunken binge eating. And it wasn't the kind of drunken binge eating you do on Valentine's day when you realize you're 32, single, and are most likely going to die alone as you watch re-runs of The Office in your pajamas and order yourself the "family special" from the local pizzeria all for yourself. No, this was a happy time. How could it not be? There is so much life here. From the crowd to the food, things just seem to crackle with an electric current. There is a certain zest that is present in each dish - one of authenticity and loving, caring passion. And for real, whoever's idea it was to put some hot dogs on the menu with that south-of-the-border twist - I salute you. I won't say it was the star of the show, but it definitely stood out. Big props for trying something new. And it was damn tasty, too!

Yelp
The veggie burrito had BRUSSELS SPROUTS AND PEAS. A true crime against humanity. The chorizo burrito was also just so-so.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and ended up walking right past it tonight, so clearly it was meant to be! I had a frozen blood orange margarita, and the carne asadas tacos. The tacos were okay. They doubled up on the tortillas which was nice, but the meat was chewy. The potential was there but just fell short. I had to add Sriracha to give it some kick, which I never really like to do, becuase I want to try and enjoy the flavor presented. I'll be back to hopefully find something better next time!

Yelp
I usually like this place a lot - especially since they have that cheap pitcher of margarita on most days. I believe it's like $13 but I can't remember. Anyway my friend and I visited to get some vegan cheese steak burritos. I've had this meal from them before but it tasted way better when I actually was sitting in the restaurant. I also noticed that this burrito size is significantly smaller when you order takeout yet the charge the same price. Was not too happy about that. It honestly just tasted like they threw a bunch of bbq sauce on a tortilla. Was not too happy with the food that I ordered.
