"After moving a few buildings down and reopening with a new rooftop bar in 2018, this perpetually busy Mexican spot is better than ever. Sidle up to the bar for their weekday Happy Hour to take advantage of their two-for-one margaritas and $5 bar snacks like queso fundido and warm, housemade tortilla chips. The extensive menu has something for everyone, but we especially like the tacos. Order the baja fish, carne asada, or any of the other six options, and they’ll come out in trios on corn tortillas. It’s the kind of spot that’s perfect for any occasion; family dinner, catching up with friends, or celebrating the fact that you finally booked that Mexican vacation." - lauren breedlove

Gorgeous space and great vibe. All age inclusive atmosphere (over 21 of course). Great utilization of a small space. Cozy seating areas, friendly, and super efficient bartenders. The downstairs restaurant’s bathrooms were amazingly clean, and private.. as in —who does not want total seclusion for those bathroom moments with floor to ceiling stall walls and door enclosures😄😆 serious appreciation & kudos for that, design crew!! Didn’t eat a thing but it looked amazing as we headed to the roof and judging from the crowded dining room families love dining here.

Google
Great lunch experience! Had a great meal, with very good service. We had the Chicken Chimichangas, and chicken Fajitas. We had a very nice table sitting outside. Highly recommend, we will be back again!

Google
Fabulous food and service!! We had a fantastic birthday lunch. The Piña & Pine cocktail and the crispy avocado tacos were two of our favorites, but everything was superb!

Google
The location is great and the food is good, it just depends if you like American style Mexican food. It's a little bland and for the price the portions are some what small especially the fajita. But the chips and salsa are awesome, and drinks are amazing 👏. It's definitely worth a stop for a light lunch and a few drinks. B+

Happy hour 3 - 6. Cantina Nachos are fire! $5 . Chicken moist and nicely spiced. Jalapeño easy to pick off, (but I didn't). Margaritas are healthy pour and tasty. Bartender is personable and bubbly. Great vibe.

Stopped by on a weekday afternoon at 4pm. I can see this place being crowded at nighttime but we got a table for 2 with no wait. We tried the cantina chicken wings with the tequila / pomegranate sauce and it was INCREDIBLE! They give about 8 wings for $13 and the chicken is juicy and the sauce adds the perfect flavor. The wings were a little hot so anyone averse to spice should avoid but if you can tolerate a little heat/ spice they were out of this world! We also had the spicy shrimp tacos and those were very delicious. They come with garlic, butter, red onion, pico de gallo, and chipotle mayo. There was a perfect amount of shrimp in each bite. They also bring out chips and salsa for the table to wet one’s appetite!! I’d come back again!

Great Mexican food and awesome cocktails. The atmosphere was lively and the service was amazing.

Google
Great Friday lunch with my hubby at Cantina’s terrace. The spicy salmon tacos were really good and spicy beef enchiladas were a bit salty but good. Broadway Ave is always a great place to grab lunch/dinner.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. very busy with a cool vibe on a Saturday night. Really good ambiance. It was very full so the food took a while but was worth it. The carne asada fajitas were quite good. Usually these are grilled and served in a hot sizzling platter. These were served in a plate and had the sauce from the cooking. They were not grilled but had plenty of onions and peppers. The drippings were totally delicious and elevated the dish.

Yelp
Meh! I could have had the same meal for a little cheaper at Moe's, (or anywhere for that matter). The margaritas were watered down and premixed. The guacamole (large order) and salsa (tasted like bottled-definitely not fresh) were fairly tasty but barely enough for four people unless this was a "tasting menu" item and we missed it. The entrees were nothing special for the price. Nothing for dessert looked appealing at all for the calorie cost. The service was what you would expect in Saratoga, average at best. What was fairly entertaining was the 20 something drunksRfun crowd taking selfies of their "big night out in Saratoga" at the bar. No need for a repeat visit, there is way better Mexican food for less at many other places.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and a friend recommended we meet for dinner here. We were able to get a reservation for a table last minute and we only waited a few extra minutes for our table, since it was Taco Tuesday! They had good specials - $3 per taco (a la carte) with lots of options, $2 coronitas. Our service was friendly and fast and we never felt rushed to order or get up! I had the a la carte taco specials. The street corn and fish tacos were the standout! My fiancé had the Mahi burrito bowl and it looked super fresh. Great marg options but a missed opportunity to not have a special on margs on Taco Tuesday! I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Good not great!

Yelp
We came for July 4th and ate on the 3rd. We've eating here before a few times and really liked it. Last night was not great. There were 3 tables outside empty, and we asked to sit at a specific one . The hostess said the one we asked for, and she said was resevered but they claim 6 cannot reserve outside. The salsa and appetizers were good. We got the jalapeños and carrots. Our margaritas were basically juice and our entrees were tasteless. Our server Oliva wad great. It was a let down of dinning for our vacation. And the next time we visit saratoga, we will skip Cantina.

Maddy D.

Yelp
The environment was fun and the restaurant is very nice :) Food was just okay.. typical american mexican but it got the job done. Want to go back to try other things on the menu!

Andrena F.

Yelp
We went during the margarita and mimosas festival, and that may have impacted the overall quality of the food that came out of the kitchen because it was so busy. We had a party of 6. 2 were pleased with their meals the other 4 were just meh. The shrimp tacos I had were tasty but uninspired. The lobster burrito also got a thumbs up. We didn't try the bar since we were bar hopping for the festival. If I wanted tacos or Mexican again while in Saratoga I'd give someplace else a try.

Jay T.

Yelp
Outstanding Mexican restaurant. This was such a great experience Went with friends and we really enjoyed the outstanding food and service. The restaurant has a huge bar dedicated to tequila. All of the food we ordered was very good. The shrimp appetizer along with the chicken wings were over the top. Looking forward to a return visit.

Yelp
Cantina has an amazing rooftop! I enjoyed a margarita (delicious) with great views of Saratoga from above. I was there with a large birthday party group and the staff were great at accommodating everyone and no one had to wait long to order a drink. We sat in one of their outdoor couch areas, which was very comfortable and had plenty of room to spread out.

Claudia L.

Yelp
Had a lovely meal here at an outside table. Server was friendly and efficient. Food was tasty - I ordered the Street Corn Quesadilla and my friend had the Mahi Mahi tacos. She is gluten free and there were lots of options for her clearly marked on the menu! Despite the humidity, I was glad we sat outside because inside was packed, and it was quite loud. Great for families and large groups and people celebrating birthdays.

Yelp
Be careful of using your credit card here!! We went for a quick lunch this past weekend and when I checked my credit card statement, I found out the waitress added an extra $7 onto the tip I already gave. When I called the restaurant about it, the manager, Heather had every excuse how this could only be an accident. I think some fraud is happening and from how she discussed it, it seems like this happens often. The food was good. The waitress also forgot to bring us our soda and didn't realize it until she brought us our check...I would NOT recommend.

Alex R.

Yelp
Brownie served on a skillet?? Word. Apparently they just got it (new on the menu). Surprisingly good when paired with chips and salsa, which are on the house. Plus, the server happily swapped the vanilla ice cream, which it normally comes with, for the fried ice cream.

Kimberly W.

Yelp
The service, food & overall atmosphere here were awesome & we already can't wait to come back when we're in town. Our party had tacos & chimichangas & they were delicious! My favorite was the avocado taco, but the coconut t'agrippas taco was a very close second! Highly recommend!

Angela K.

Yelp
Went for a drink here this past Saturday, which was Belmont Stakes event at Saratoga Racetrack. I thought it would be hard to get a seat on the roof top bar but no crowds at all. Everyone was at the racetrack! I did not have any food just a frozen margarita and it was delicious. On a hot roof top day it was the perfect cocktail. I was told that on a typical Saturday afternoon, almost impossible to find a seat on roof. Downstairs restaurant looked very inviting too. Next time I hope!

Melissa W.

Yelp
As a first time mom, friendly and prompt service at a restaurant is everything. Near the hostess desk there was a small line of strollers and we were able to simply add ours to the lineup. This was much more convenient than trying to squeeze it in between tables. Then as soon as we sat down, complimentary homemade chips and salsa arrived. We ordered the short rib chimichanga and chicken mole enchiladas - wow! they came minutes later and were both banging. Wish I had a bottle of that mole! The one ding is that the sides in the entree were barely a few spoonfuls. Come on, rice and beans do not cost much! In any case, service was quick, food delicious, and all in a vibrant atmosphere.

Yelp
cantina is a very popular local spot with great happy hour deals. i've been here for a full meal and for happy hour drinks and snacks, and both have impressed me. the chips and salsa are clearly made in-house and they definitely give you enough for your whole table to enjoy. we got the cactus fries as an appetizer, which came with some spicy aioli as the dipping sauce. the fry batter was seasoned very well and was good even without the aioli. i got the chicken fajitas as my main, which were very good but not spicy at all. we requested hot sauce and it made them perfect! the margaritas here are STRONG but are very good, and the appetizers they serve at happy hour (especially the brussels sprouts) are the perfect size and are very tasty. the service here was stand-out. we thought we had placed a reservation but something must've gotten lost in translation as the reservation wasn't actually placed. we went as a party of 6 on a friday night and the restaurant was very busy, yet the hostess and waiters worked something out and were able to seat us within 15 minutes of arrival. they were so friendly and very helpful!

Haley C.

Yelp
Ordered take out, the food was really great! Everything was ready on time and came with plenty of chips, yummy!

Ed R.

Yelp
Great decor/atmosphere, almost always busy, for good reason: Food is excellent. Been here many times and haven't had a bad meal yet though on this visit my regular Carnita's Tacos the pork was bone dry. Usually you can't miss with the carnits tacos if you like pork. Wife had seared Ahi Tuna tacos but clearly the tuna was prepared en mass previously. Tuna was ice cold- if your menu say "seared" sear it fresh and serve NOT sear 10 pounds last week, throw in the cooler and serve it cold. Why? Because cold tacos are not appealing. Bartenders can seem a bit ambivalent at times but it's understanding: they are in constant motion slinging margaritas. Attention kitchen manager: Lose a star for carnita's inconsistency and pre-cooked Ahi Tuna. You're better than that. Fix it.

Andrew V.

Yelp
The staff was efficient but not friendly. The restaurant always seems packed because the location is great and has a good vibe. The food was mixed and I would put it near the bottom of Mexican restaurants I've been to.

Jenn L.

Yelp
Dirty with greasy, tasteless food. The paper inside our menus came covered in sauces and fingerprints. The chips were served in a container that had old food crusted around the bottom. The salsa tasted like jarred tomatoes and lacked other flavors. The quesadilla was very greasy and vegetable fajitas were drowning in liquid. Don't waste your money on this awful, dirty place!!

Emily C.

Yelp
This place was a 5 minute walk on Broadway from our hotel. It was about a half hour wait on a Monday night. I had a coconut margarita and the crispy avocado tacos. Everything was fresh, filling, and delightful. Service was great, even though it was incredibly busy. Price was about what I expected: around $100 without tip for 4 people, 4 drinks (1 alcoholic.) Loud inside as it was so busy, casual, good place to take kids.

Gregory C.

Yelp
Lured in by the Happy Hour Specials sign, we asked for a table for four. After being seated asked for a Happy Hour drink special only to be informed it's for the bar area only (to be fair, upon leaving I reexamined the sign, and it did say bar only, in small print). Oh well. Ordered drinks and food. They provided chips and salsa gratis, and even provided a refill on those. Drinks were good. My dry rub wings were delicious, as was my Mexi-cobb salad. And that bad boy was HUGE. Service was attentive and the restroom was clean.

Anthony M.

Yelp
The food is fantastic always hits the spot here. When it's warmer out the outside seating is perfect for some food and sight seeing. The drinks are always delicious and have just the right about of zing in them so you're not cheated. The service is always a 10 out of 10 they're always super attentive and make sure the drinks are always filled.

Danielle L.

Yelp
The service is always kind and efficient but the food is always extremely meh. I get roped into coming here from my sister. I would never choose to come here myself. Please please season your food guys!

Shari M.

Yelp
Great happy hour. Reasonable drink prices Ann's good number of discounted bar bites. Server was great. Large restaurant with nice roof top area.

Yelp
A scene out of Seinfeld: "They know how to take the reservation, but they don't know how to keep the reservation" Took my wife, our son and our friends out to dinner at Cantina for her 30th birthday last night!! We will NOT go back to Cantina. We knew it would be a busy night so we made an 8:00 pm reservation Saturday two weeks in advance for 4 plus high chair for the kid. We Arrive at 8, 5 min wait, table is prepared with 4 seats and a high chair, hostess comes over and asks the wrong name, we said no, she finds the foursome with that name and goes to seat them and asks "you needed the high-chair right", the young 4 kids said no. They all freeze before sitting, while hostess goes back to stand and checks something, clearly a mistake. She removes high chair and followed through with the mistake by seating the party of 4 at the table for 5. Waited until 8:12 when another 4 top opens with space for a high-chair, but a new group of 4 walks in and is seated there immediately. The Manager was clearly unhappy with it and talked to the hostess while pointing to our group "that's the reservation". After 20 mins of no communication, They apologized and said it would be another 5 minutes. Finally at 8:30 we're seated As compensation for botching our reservation, they gave us Free guacamole. The chips had a hair in them. Margaritas were good Food came fast Waitress was super nice and wanted to make up for the disservice of the long wait service. 5/5 on service Food was okay/good 3.5 stars. Birrias Tacos were dry and lacked flavor. Maybe my perspective was tainted because of the sour taste the delay left from earlier. I'm frustrated with poor service, not from the wait staff but from the front of house. It was not professional or communicative and a comp guac doesn't cut it. I'm mad they derailed our Birthday celebration.

Zack G.

Yelp
Popping Mexican restaurant with a menu of basic Mexican dishes, as well as a very impressive drink menu Both bar and table seating, but when I came with my GF there was still a 1.5 hr wait! When we finally got seated we thought that the food and drinks were solid, but nothing phenomenal. We did get a pitcher of guava flavored margharita however, which was fun Complimentary chips and salsa, but the chips were stale

Grace B.

Yelp
Great service, very speedy, the wait staff were all very nice. The food is also pretty well priced and good portion sizes. It was a very busy night and the food came out kind of lukewarm but it was still good. The apps were kind of small and the chips were not my favourite but good salsa.

Dan M.

Yelp
I want to like this place. It's a great atmosphere but nothing is just simple. They need a real Mexican in their kitchen. I just want a standard burrito! I ask for it and the put everything except the chicken, beans and rice on the side. The owners should go to Anna's Taqueria in Boston or visit Texas. Simple is key. Less is more. Also - it's ridiculous that they won't do plain tomatoes without cilantro. Lotta people hate Cilantro.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Had high hopes for Cantina due to its curb appeal, seating options & menu. Despite being peak hours, we were seated promptly. Most of the FOH Team came across as upbeat and friendly, however, we were assigned one with neither trait. The food presentations were well done, but surprisingly, the final takeaway was: bland. The prices seemed reasonable. Despite the energy picking up the later it became, Cantina is not a late night stop. Final verdict: Good, not great.

Taco K.

Yelp
Service was good, but food was a bit disappointing, we ordered some green enchiladas and the were sweet!!! They aren't supposed to be sweet ‍

Alice C.

Yelp
Love the food here! And the atmosphere! We met an old friend here and it was perfect. We had fajitas, enchiladas mole and delicious guacamole too. Nice friendly vibe, without being overwhelming. Reservations recommended!

Heidi O.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch. Great food and service. My wedge could have had a little more flavor but overall very good. We will go back. And hope for 5 star rating.

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
We did lunch at Cantina my wife got the carnitas soft tacos with pineapple salsa and I got the slow roasted short rib chimichangas they were so good. Our server was great kept us supplied with plenty of water and ambiance was that of a modern cantina this is a must stop

Nischinth S.

Yelp
Was visiting Saratoga to watch a movie. We had over an hour left before the movie began so we decided to make a quick stop at a restaurant and get something to eat. We chose Cantina because of the taco Tuesdays and happy hour. Taco Tuesday consists of $2 Tacos, $2 Coronitas or $12 Bucket of Coronitas and this starts at 4 PM till close and is dine in only. The tacos were pretty good and also included a taco Klondike. The restaurant was packed and the host was friendly and accommodating by getting our order, food and bill in a timely fashion that got us to the movie in time. Over all the food is 4 stars, service and ambience a 5.

Cassidy G.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere and food! John the bartender was attentive and friendly. I am from Buffalo so I had to get the wings (Garlic Picante) and they did not disappoint! Very flavorful with the perfect crisp. The Shrimp Salad was amazing and I would highly recommend it! The homemade salsa was delish as well!

Katherine F.

Yelp
Amazing..usually Mexican can be a let down but this place is hands down the best Mexican hidden gem I've had in a long time. We got the street corn quesadilla and carne asada and we weren't disappointed. The rice reminded me of Zatarans but it was still good. Drinks were small but potent. Bathrooms were clean and beautiful tile. Staff were a little snotty but whatever. The open kitchen you can see the staff with their ear buds and cell phones. One guy had a pony with a scrunchy and texting but expedited all the meals in 10 min flat. Wouldn't travel all the way back here but I can't wait to have leftovers late night.

Sharon B.

Yelp
5 star food but service could be better. They took my order and delivered my food promptly, but then went into "get the single diner out as fast as possible so they can get a larger party at the table" mode. I wasn't offered a second drink, the check came immediately after they cleared my entree, no offer of a dessert menu. However, the grilled shrimp salad was excellent.

Kristen K.

Yelp
Cute atmosphere with outdoor dining. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food has a little to be desired and lacks flavor. The margarita was okay and both our meals needed more seasoning. The chips were also stale.

Jo B.

Yelp
I would give this zero stars if I could. my party of waited over 90 minutes for a table and the staff were very unhelpful. We were told about a 40 minute wait. The hostesses just kept saying they were waiting for this one specific table to get up, yet parties of 5, 6, 8 and more come barreling in. Then they paged us to say the table was ready, we go inside, the table was still occupied. We are currently going on 100 minutes of waiting with no avail.

Brooke N.

Yelp
This was my first time eating here and no doubt I will 100% be back!!! The drinks are amazing! Chips and homemade salsa... whaaaaaat!! So good! The chips are fresh and they are thick which I loved and the mahi mahi tacos were super fresh and melted in your mouth. I didn't take a photo but we also got the churros for dessert w a chocolate sauce. OH MY GOODNESSS!!! This place is a must have!! Let me know how it is!!!

Gerald A.

Yelp
Rooftop is the best experience ever, bartender played the hit song "linger" by the cranberries two whole times and I've never experienced bliss quite like the 2 hours I spent on the cantina rooftop. 10/10 would recommend to anyone coming to visit Saratoga! John the bartender is #1!

Lenny G.

Yelp
What a surprising treat in Saratoga Springs. This Mexican fusion resistant was on par. Loved their quesadillas. The lobster burrito with Cactus French fries was amazing. Would highly recommend this place.

G B.

Yelp
i got the chicken taquitos along with the free chips and salsa they put on the table. very good! full of flavor and crispy. the chips were some of the best i ever had! loved the salsa too. the chips weren't burnt like i've seen in a few places lately. just the pale corn chip color like it should look! very yummy! waitress was super nice and the place is so nice inside.

Janel G.

Yelp
Chips are way too thick. I had Mahi tacos without the tacos. Kids meals are a good size. My husband liked the quesadilla. Great atmosphere and outdoor seating. Best and prettiest bathroom on the strip!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Great service. The food was so fresh and delicious! Great recommendation try the Cobb salad!

Todd R.

Yelp
Took the family here for lunch while visiting over Easter weekend and our group of five was quite impressed with their experience here. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and our waitress was friendly and attentive. A few members of our party were interested in a cocktail but the prices seemed a bit steep so we passed. The complimentary chips were strangely thick, but we all liked the salsa though. The entrees were delivered quickly and were excellent. The mole was particularly good, and the accompanying rice and beans which are often just bland filler items at many Mexican restaurants, were very good. The portions were generous and fairly priced. I would definitely recommend this place.

Kristen M.

Yelp
The fact it's right on broadway is very convenient. Staff is very nice and friendly. It's always busy and you have to be there in person for them to put your name on the waiting list, but they have half a dozen high top tables and the bar seating that are all first come first serve. We went around 6pm on a Saturday night and it was already buzzing and it was a little hard to hear each other above all the noise - and I'm young. The food was delicious. They have a TON of appetizer options and a variety of tacos to select. They have other menu options as well, those are just the most extensive categories. The portions were quite large and the food was delicious.

Isabella L.

Yelp
Another one of my favorites in Saratoga. The waitstaff is friendly and accommodating, seating is quick and efficient (even without a reservation), and the food is quality.

Kristine L.

Yelp
When looking for a place to have a large group dinner, Cantina is perfect. The staff works well together to make sure everyone is served at once. Only reason for 4, not 5, stars - the expensive pitchers of margaritas are WEAK. Just because someone wants strawberry or passion fruit flavors does not mean they don't want tequila. And don't bother with the Taco Tuesday special tacos. It's about one tablespoon of food. Nothing special about them.
