10 Casse-Croûtes Worth a Drive from Montreal | Eater Montreal

"A Granby landmark for over 70 years with its notorious massive neon Ben on the side of the road, this family-run (three generations strong) spot dishes up a variety of poutines like sausage, bacon, and Italian alongside other staples like burgers, hot dogs, and onion rings. Another don’t-miss treat is the summertime ice cream bar." - Erinn Blicher

Where to Eat in the Eastern Townships | Eater Montreal

"This Insta-famous pit stop in Granby is the perfect place to stuff yourself with griddle cheeseburgers, squeaky cheese curds, and so much more. Don’t miss out on the ice cream or milkshakes either, as their “bar laitier” is arguably just as well-known as their food." - Daniel Bromberg

This place gives old Mc Donald’s vibes, you can order from windows and eat where ever you want. The staff is awesome they have a funny red and white uniform and quick service. 4$ for a burger of the size of your palm was a bit disappointing. The chicken nuggets were from KFC. Fries were good but a bit too greasy poutine is good but the sauce is too rich for me. You have to enter to order food but you can order ice cream and threats from outside loved it.

This is classic roadside fare at its best so the line is long for good reason. The sign says to bourre your bédaine and who am I to ignore local advice? A 2021 study showed dipped cones aid in the digestion of poutine so do not consider it an indulgence but a necessity for wellness.

Stopped by Ben La Bedaine after visiting Granby Zoo and ended up waiting about 30–40 minutes on this Sunday. The poutine was pretty overrated, the fries were too greasy and the sauce tasted like a very rich, almost au jus gravy, which didn’t really hit the mark for classic poutine. The retro theme of the restaurant is really fun, and the employee uniforms add to the vibe, but unfortunately the long wait and mediocre food quality make it hard to justify the hype. Overall, it’s a cool spot visually, but the food didn’t live up to expectations.

We stopped here on our way through Quebec so we could experience some authentic Quebec poutine. I loved the retro theme and all, but the food was lacklustre for me, especially for the price. Honestly I think I’ve enjoyed poutine more at McDonald’s and my local restaurant in Ontario. Good curds, but that’s where it ended for me. The burger was good beef, but like others have mentioned, on the small side.

Amazing poutine, totally worth the 10 min detour! Had one classic and another with bacon. Both were fantastic. The fries are not soggy, cheese curds in abundance, and delicious gravy. We also could not help but try their chocolate-dipped soft serve which was equally good! Will definitely be back on my next trip to the eastern townships.

This place is still an institution in Granby and the Eastern Townships. The staff is friendly and courteous as ever. The atmosphere is always positive and festive and it's one of the real last old school diners and family restaurants that bring you back to your childhood. The staff west uniforms, the ice cream is great, and the food (especially poutine) is legit.

THE BEST BEST BEST BURGERS!! What a team, organization is perfect. Very professional and clean. No matter how busy, they always seem to hold it together. I will be back all summer. It is five minutes away from Granby Zoo. And we have season passes. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The place and decor is super cute and they have good prices. Lineup goes quick but he food itself is hard to eat and quite frankly disappointing. Compared to other casse croutes I’ve been to, this may look the most impressive but I wouldn’t come back bc the food was just bad. It’s heavy, unbalanced, greasy. No.
