Canto de Luz

Amazing stay at the Canto de Luz! Five of us stayed in the 2 bedroom urban retreat for 3 nights. The rooms are fantastic for family travel, equipped with the latest technology. Fully equipped with power window and skylight blinds, towel heaters, private patio, kitchen, and washer and dryer. This is actually two rooms that can be separated with their own entrances that can joined as one large space. Included is a free delicious breakfast that is made fresh daily, and a free welcome glass of wine from their unique self serve wine machine featuring local favorites from reds to ports. The property is located near shops, bars and restaurants and is very close to most attractions. The owners have gone out of their way to anticipate your needs including optional parking and large sparkling clean rooms. What really made our stay memorable was the service. EVERY person working there goes out of their way to help and make sure you are taken care of. Thanks to Carla and the morning breakfast crew who had prepared a table every morning with a high chair ready for our family, and provided great service with a smile. Special kudos and thanks to Micaela and especially Daniela who could not have been more helpful, friendly and made us feel like we were home. These two ladies define 5 star service. We loved staying at this intimate hotel and highly recommend!

We LOVED Canto de Luz. The location, the staff, the room, the ambience, the cat - just everything about it. So friendly but professional. Great attention to detail and someone has a great eye for interior design. We stayed in 2 City and relished the view from the little balcony. Nearly perfect in our opinion. Couple of TINY things would improve it from my point of view - have a fridge in the room and a bit more storage and a magnifying mirror. We 100% recommend and would most certainly return.

I don’t think you’ll find a better place to stay in Porto. It’s that simple. If you’re heading to Porto, hurry up and reserve a room here. Let’s see, how do I begin? First of all, the booking process and communication prior to arriving was so friendly. Susan always had great information, from restaurant recommendations to airport transfers - they were perfect. And when we arrived, we were treated spectacularly - we were made to feel like valued guests. Everything about this hotel was great - the rooms, the breakfasts, the staff - we can’t wait to try their new hotel. You must stay here!!

Canto de Luz was one of the best accommodations we've ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, we loved it. We were greeted by the most welcoming staff and were treated to coffee while waiting for our room to be ready. Our room was the most spacious apartment we could have asked for. They thought of everything! The "smart home" technology in the room was extra fun for us to play around with. During our stay, the staff went out of their way to accommodate some of our special circumstances when it came to travel plans. I also booked transport to and from the airport through Canto de Luz and it went seamlessly. |We also loved the Magic Wine Fridge that Canto de Luz offers! It was such a fun welcome surprise to get a free tasting. We will be back!

Excellent hotel: rooms are nicely sized and very functional with good beds and modern amenities. The staff is super hospitable and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and different choices are offered every day. The location is also good: close to all major attractions and easily reachable by car.

Great boutique hotel. Good location, very clean, spacious room, great breakfast. Also the most digitally integrated hotel I've ever stayed at. The front desk was also very helpful with restaurant recommendation. They also packed us breakfast on our last day there for an early flight. I would highly recommend for your trip to Porto!

Sophisticated yet warm design, with stunning street views (3rd floor city room), a large garden in the back of the property for all to relax, soak up the sun, have a coffee, or read a book. |The breakfast is as delicious as described by others. Every staff person is kind, welcoming and helpful. When asked for a few dinner recommendations in advance of the trip, they sent 20–with descriptors of each.|The owners have created a unique alchemy with their hotel, each detail is thoughtful, but never strained. We saw families, singles, groups of women friends on holidays (overheard one saying to the other “I don’t want to leave this!”), straight and gay couples— everyone seemed to be under the magical spell of Canto de Luz. It’s simply a lovely place.

A great boutique hotel. The location is perfect and walkable to all major tourist things. We had a room facing the garden - it was quiet. Unfortunately we had to miss breakfast the days we were there but they made us a little takeaway breakfast with a sandwich, juice and banana. We are grateful for the generous staff!
