We stayed there for a couple of days on vacation and it was terrific. The rooms are well designed and have just about everything you need in a small efficient space. Plenty of natural light from the skylight and sliding doors to your own patio. The fridge was nice as they gave us milk for coffee and filtered water. The coffee maker was great. The bed was quite comfortable in a king size. I felt like we were in a quaint apartment in Porto. The staff were really nice and accommodating. The breakfast we had in their indoor/outdoor dining area was very nice with lots of variety to choose from and well made with fresh bread, fruit yogurt and eggs to order. We had to check out quite early and they left us a nice breakfast to go. I would absolutely return here anytime in Porto. I can't find fault with anything about this place.

Amazing boutique hotel, in a great location. Do not hesitate to book. Walking distance to all major Porto attractions. After a day of sightseeing it was wonderful to come back to this oasis of luxury, have a dip in the pool and sample the delightful wine and port selection.||I have to say this is the best boutique hotel concept that we have experienced. Breakfast prepared in front of you from fresh and exquisite ingredients; delicious wines and ports with expert advice from the staff; wonderful bedroom suites with sumptuous bedding and bathroom products. Pure luxury. We would not now stay anywhere else in Porto.||We had a car and our reserved parking bay in the garage 3 buildings along was safe and secure.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for four nights (late May, early June 2025). We can't say enough good things about it.|Unassuming appearance from the outside, but once inside, WOW! We arrived after midnight but thanks to great communication from the hotel staff, we had no trouble entering and finding our room. What a room! Gentle classical music playing (via Alexa), large room overlooking street, very comfortable bed, modern surroundings and very quiet.|So handy to Porto attractions. We walked everywhere.|We had breakfast each day at the hotel. Great selection and lovely setting. We also enjoyed the complimentary port!|I must mention two more things. On the day we left, the hotel staff booked a taxi for us. I thought it was too early, but little did I know that the queue at Porto airport for baggage drop-off would be massive! Thank goodness for the hotel staff's foresight. Secondly, we left the hotel too early for breakfast and were really surprised that the staff made up a breakfast pack for us to take away and it was amazing! They made a comment "We couldn't let you go without breakfast". I will never forget that beautiful gesture.|This is the hotel we will stay at when next in Porto.

We loved our stay at Canto de Luz! The building and our room were large and beautiful! The location was perfect for our needs, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! My dad still raves about the comfortable beds. We had to leave every day of our stay before they served breakfast, so the staff made us delicious take-away breakfasts every day. I highly recommend and will definitely stay here on our next trip to Porto!

We had a wonderful stay at the Canto De Luz. The property is clean and modern and the staff are great at communicating, returning emails or texts, and informing you about everything about your stay prior to arriving. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for being such great hosts. Susan made dinner reservations for us prior to our arrival and Nata was so sweet and thoughtful in packing us a breakfast on the morning we had to get up really early for a tour. The breakfast is fresh and made to order. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Porto. Thank you for a great stay.

we stayed here three nights and it was an amazing experience!! the rooms here are very comfortable, with nice views either to the gardens here at the hotel or to the very beautiful street. the breakfast here is very good, every day they have different breads and pastries they give you when you sit down, and also they have a different special of the day every day. the attention to detail here is superb!! the staff here is very friendly and sweet, professional and tentative. they think about every small detail and help you with whatever you need. i highly recommend this place to anyone who is staying here in porto because it will elevate your experience here in so many ways !!

I absolutely loved my stay here. Everything was perfect and the staff were so generous and accommodating. The food was great, the wine was phenomenal, and the rooms were large. The hotel is close to the river and down town. I basically never had to use a map because I could always find my way back. I highly recommend if you’re a solo female traveler. Trust me! The wine tasting class was so fun too :) Will come back here if I end up in Porto again.

Got to be honest, am not entirely sure what went wrong here. We’re pretty easy going travellers, give us a room big enough for a bed and we’re happy. Well, Urban Retreat 2 at CdL has a bit more room than we’re used to say the least…||Well up a hill in the buzzing city of Porto sits Canto de Luz, a boutique hotel of the Porto townhouse style, narrow and tile clad, but extending way back so deceptively large. This place has been planned with precision with airy communal space, a small pool, outdoor seating, open planned kitchen and breakfast room. ||Our seemingly sunken suite, was airy and lit by two sky lights and large patio doors, had an oversized bed and large modern shower room. Lights, blinds and temperature all controlled by a wall panel. Well stocked mini bar, coffee machine and sofa area were among the details giving a feeling of luxury befitting our 30 year’s wed celebration, surpassing our expectations throughout. ||Wonderful staff, consistent with what we found throughout Porto, whether the restauranteurs or chatty cab drivers who ferried us for the steady uphill aspect of our daily excursions.||Breakfast here is an enjoyable event. The theme is little and often, small portions in whatever volume you prefer. One of almost each seemed to work well, for me, that being high quality coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice and a smoothy, artisan bread or a local sweet treat, some fresh fruit and a taster of granola, toast and egg cooked to choice. ||My only regret was not booking the wine tasting event run in-house by Canto Cooking. Every day saw a steady stream of guests who duly marked their preferences as the host explained some background. Looked a bit of fun and reviews for all of Canto Cookings events demonstrate their skill and pride in the local specialities. Instead, we enjoyed the complimentary Port taster, good enough to tempt us into buying some glasses from the hotel’s dispenser. ||All in all that little bit of lux helped make a wonderful trip and we may even seek out some of Espais Rocca’s other properties for the next!
