Nice place with great brews, decent pub food, and lots of activities, including pinball machines, board games, and darts. They also have trivia nights, euchre and live music select nights. I saw a great band called Days Gone By that does covers from so many decades. Band was multigenerational and each member on stage took lead vocals a long the way. I was singing along all night!

Been coming here for years. This place treats you like family! They got 5 pinball machines now, and it's a great time drinking a beer and playing some pinball. The beer here is amazing!

I LOVE coming to Canton Brew Works! Friday nights are the best with their open mic night for comedy. They have amazing margarita slushies and homemade FRESH Mexican food that is to die for. The staff is super sweet, and the decor makes you feel at home. 💓

Awesome brews and even better service! Stopped in on a Friday for lunch and it was awesome! I had the impossible burger and it was cooked to perfection! Highly recommend! Cool environment and awesome staff! The bartender today was super cool! Edit: Absolutely love this brewery! I had to leave Supernatural Brewing due to lack of anyone taking my order for over 20 minutes so I came here. I’m glad I did! They always have fast and friendly service.

Went here tonight to watch a band called Second Hand Mojo. Their set was fantastic and the small crowd was very good. I ordered a stout that they made in house and it was very good! I would even say it was better than the one I got from the brewery in Frankenmuth. Highly recommend!

When I first l learned of this place, I was really excited due to the pinballl tables they had. The first time I visited I was disappointed to hear they didnt have an atm. I walked the liquor store in the same strip mall no biggie. The 2nd time, was new years eve, They werent open, I learned they had an employee that was late. The 3rd time, I was prepared had my own singles ready to play Rush. I see Rush doesnt take singles only quarters. They refused to make change. So I left. This was last time I attempt to come here. Never again. When did customer service completely disappear.

Quiet place, pleasant for regulars but not exciting. Limited options - kudos to the spicy pale ale. Bubbles outside allow decent social distancing. Nothing particularly wrong, but just okay atmosphere and beer.

Hurry into Canton Brew works! Terrific Mexican food now being served on select days…for sure taco Tuesdays! It’s Mela’s Menu and it’s fantastic!! Pair your favorite brew with a carne asada or chicken taco and you won’t be disappointed! I’ll be back again and again…tell your friends. 🌮 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night and doubt I will be back. First, there was a band playing and it was so loud that you could hear it clearly outside of the establishment. I don't mind live music but you know what I like better - hearing the folks I came with! And it was it muggy in there so between that and the music I was miserable and ready to get the hell out of dodge. I was hoping for a relaxing evening and it was anything but that.

Yelp
I was recently here to meet up with a couple of friends to be part of a music night at Canton Brew Works and I gotta say I really loved the place. I arrived about an hour and a half before showtime and had a sprite and some really kickin' wings. The really cool thing about the food here is it is bar food that's elevated. The servers behind the counter were very friendly and had all of me and my friends food and drink orders done in a quick and friendly manner. The brew works is a great place to see what a microbrew setup looks like in the main area by the bar. This place is divided into two parts the one part being the brewery and bar and the other side has been converted into a venue with an open bar setup so you could order no matter what side you're on. I recommend trying this place out if you're in the area for its sweet energy, great food and drinks and cool staff.

Yelp
I don't know... I was not impressed. Got there for euchre and tried ordering food. Had to be done online and there was a $5 service fee. So weird. Skipped the food and got a blonde beer. Nasty and flat. I told the bartender and he said that's how it is so I kept it. Someone recommended I tell a different bartender so I did and she replaced it. I can't remember the next beer I had. It was darker and ok. Still a tad flat. Oh well. Cool thing is that it was casual. Lots of space and games. It would be cool to hang for a game night.

Yelp
I'm happy to support a local business, but I left so disappointed I can't think of a reason to go back other than maybe to grab a quick beer? I walked in for the first time, no one turns their heads. I sat down at a table, no one comes by. Apparently I had to place a food order through their app with no other options and had to pay a $5 service charge for an order, which is ridiculous. I paid it because I was starving. I placed the order for my Philly cheese steak at 8:43pm. I went up to the bar to check on the status of my food at 9:15pm. The bartender said "she should be back any minute." Another 5 minutes or so went by, she came by with the box in her thick winter coat, dropped it off, took off her coat and went back to cleaning. It was the driest and saddest Philly cheese steak sandwich, ever. The fries are freshly fried and that's about all that's good about my meal. The amber ale was delicious, though. It was very easy to drink. If I had to wait for half an hour for a dry Philly, who knows how long it would've taken had I tried to order ribs? If a bar has to order food from another place just to feed its patrons, picking a place that can serve good food and quickly is very important. I really wanted to like it and be excited to go back because I want to support a local business owned by someone in my neighborhood, but when it's not good, it's not good. They do have events like euchre nights so that's cool since I don't have to deal with trying to get food.

Yelp
We really enjoyed Canton Brew works! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and I loved the "gear" theme. The bartender was friendly and helpful and the locals were welcoming. I don't think I would come back specifically to come here as the goal was to get a tag. But if you're in the area check it out!

Jessica N.

Yelp
The beer is good, service is always great when Loice is the bartender. I love the darts and ambiance on weekends!

Hitesh P.

Yelp
Good beer selection. Very relaxed and chill environment. Service can use some help. Food ordering process charges is unusual.

Yelp
I planned a brewery crawl for my husband's 30th and my friend's 29th birthdays. Canton Brew Works was our first stop. When we got there, it was pretty empty, which was good because we were going to have a larger group and wanted to get food. Four people showed up and put in food immediately through the app. We were quite confused about the $5 service charge, especially when their menu says it will only be $3.50... more of our friends joined and put in orders (12 total, so they already made $30 in just service charges.) While we waited, we grabbed some beers. My husband got a stout and I ordered the pineapple sour. I love sour beers. This was not a sour beer. I could not taste the sour or pineapple. It was overwhelmingly smokey. I couldn't even drink it, my husband ended up drinking it. I didn't order another beer. After about 40 minutes, we still hadn't recieved our food, so I went to the bar and asked the gentleman how long food typically takes because we ordered the hot chicken sandwich, onion rings, and a chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The gentleman said that orders take 20 minutes. I let him know that it had been 40 minutes and he said he would check on it and give him 10 minutes. He never left the bar or anything and continued to chat with customers. At the hour mark, we asked for a refund, because we would just order food at the next place. He argued that the system usually notifies them when food is ordered and it didn't. I'm not sure how they usually do things, but I would at least check in with larger groups and make sure they are doing well and see if they need anything. He continued to argue with us about the refund, when a nice lady pops up with the bags of food. He refused the refund and handed us the food. We took it and sat down. The other people in our group waited an additional forty minutes after us and were also refused refunds. We were quite disappointed because we were there to celebrate and it really dampened the night. We understand technical issues, but wished the gentleman had handled the situation differently. We still think he should've issued refunds when our wait time was three times longer than it should've been and the brewery was completely empty except for two or three people at the bar. This was the first time any of us had been here and will probably be the last.

Yelp
Ambiance and Character are important to me. Particularly with a Brew Pub. This place has none zero zilch. It's like drinking in a shed. On top of that they only offer 8 choices. Whoever the owner is makes so little effort that I definitely don't want to go back.

Kristen G.

Yelp
Wow what a cool place! I've seriously been meaning to stop on here for forever but never make it! Really wish I would have before now because this place is awesome! Spent the afternoon drinking beers and playing some of our favorite games! Ended up leaving with two growlers! I was super into the music they were playing some old school and not super old school rock. This place is big too, would be good for groups! Got pretzels and cheese, the cheese was great, pretzels were frozen and got hard quickly. Will definitely be back to try more beers, snacks and play games!

Christopher H.

Yelp
They had solid beer and a nice environment. But due to a miscommunication I was charged for the first beer I ordered. Also a friend of mine paid for that beer as well

Sharon C.

Yelp
Good selection of craft beers and food is available too! Live music is a great addition to this neighborhood gem.

Britt W.

Yelp
Food: (full menu is available now and no outside food permitted anymore) they offer basic American food. It was mediocre. Beer & wine: (they've partnered with Vitners right next door) both the beer and wine are mediocre as well. Igloos: Nice touch and atmosphere although in the smaller side. Cleanliness was slightly lacking as there seemed to be hair balls on the ground of the igloo and the plastic cover over the table cloth didn't appear to be cleaned as thoroughly as it should have been considering the circumstances (dried soda or beer splatters on plastic cover). $5 to reserve and igloo for approximately an hour I believe unless they aren't busy as they didn't rush us off since they had igloos open. Service: the service was very good. Both the servers/workers at the winery and brewery were incredibly nice and accommodating. Overall: we'd return to try their beer once they rotate their selection.

Chris C.

Yelp
So basically someone opened a bar in his garage, except it's worse. Beer is beer. What else have you got? No servers. Pay for water (not kidding). And if you want food, you order through a third party and it gets delivered in a bag. But don't worry, you get charged $5 for the "convenience". I won't be going back. I can't believe anyone does. Chris P.

Yelp
Tasty, balanced, and distinctive beers. I really enjoyed the Belgian Saison. Canton Brew Works does not offer active table service or hot food. It reminds me slightly of the Corner Brewery (Ypsi) back in the day. With no active bar service I wish the pint prices were more competitive. Canton Brew Works lacks personality. However, that just may be growing pains.

Yelp
Our first couple of times there, they weren't busy and we sat at the bar. We had great conversations with the folks behind the bar, talking about the space, the beers on tap and those getting ready to tap. It was great! I also discovered my new summer lover, Bundaberg Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic). Dang that's good! This last time we dropped in a busy Thursday evening. No space at the bar so we scored a low 2-top table. Ken had to order from the end of the bar, and the bartenders were too busy for any extraneous chit chat. It happens, and we may have cared about it slightly if we hadn't already chatted up the bartenders previously. We knew what we wanted - they let you order any number of sampler sized glasses all the way up to full sized glasses. They have 6-7 of their own beers on tap at any time. Light through dark and everything in between (their latest Saison was tasty!) They also carry various sodas for those visiting DDs/non-drinkers. Small amount of bagged snacks on site, but you can have food delivered or bring in your own food. As of 07/02/15 they are still only open Thursday through Sunday. Call ahead to see if that's changed and to check hours. They will fill other bars' growlers and howlers. They have their own too if you need one. Parking is sufficient, a lot shared by the rest of the strip mall. The bar is large with seating for at least 12. They have a low tables too (maybe 8-10). They look to be adding a TV and some sound acoustic tiles to keep the noise down. Their beers are good enough to do a sample of all of them. I recommend bringing in Mediterranean or pizza from within the same strip mall or heading south to get Best China or Jersey Mike's to go then settle in to enjoy your food, beer and companions.

Yelp
With breweries popping up left and right you now have so many places to choose from. I love the fact that brew works is right down the street from my house and they have a great selection of board and card games to choose from. To be honest there are a lot of breweries that do have better beer but their prices and location are great for me. They are doing hard seltzer now as well and that was amazing!! I liked it much better than truly and even better than white claw. They also consistently rotate their beers so there are always new ones to try. If you love seltzer or just want to kick back and enjoy a beer this is the place for you!!!

Jameson J.

Yelp
Stopped in for a brew. This place is evolving expanding their bar in the adjacent room. Last time I was here the service was very slow and almost non existent, however this time it was different. The bartender was helpful and took my order faster. This location has WiFi if you want to work.I had the Doherty Dry Irish Stout, it was really good and low abv for a beer this hearty. It did however remind me of a black ale taste wise. There are food trucks that stop by here too. Overall this is a cool spot. Service was better than last time.

Paul W.

Yelp
An unpretentious, comfortable pub serving up some first class brews. First tried it last January; a rich, strong holiday ale was on tap and it was outstanding. It had a nice mix of spices that didn't push the lightly roasted malt out of the way. When we returned last Friday we got pints of the Cloudy Day IPA to wash down our takeout chinese (CBW allows you to bring food in), which wasn't bad, though much lighter on hops than most others I've had. But we followed up with a rye barrel aged imperial stout (for me) and a dry Irish stout (for my wife), and both of these were winners. The pub was crowded last Friday, with a few parties standing in the door for a bit waiting for tables, but none waited very long, and CBW is in the process of expanding seating into an adjoining room. They also have food on site occasionally (barbeque last Friday), and host prix-fixe pop up dinners from time to time. The bar for quality brewing in Michigan is very high, but in my experience so far, CBW clears it with ease.

Brad H.

Yelp
I love this place--great and friendly staff, good selection of rotating (and always interesting) beers, and plenty of activities. It's a good nano-brewery with a "neighborhood bar" feel.

Alicia S.

Yelp
Wooden unexpected brewery in the middle of a strip mall! My boyfriend and I met here after work one night and enjoyed a couple of beers. Per normal, I selected the pale ales while he dabbled in some of the more traditional logger. The clientele was extremely social and seem to be regulars, but overly welcoming. And the bartenders service couldn't be good beyond excellent. It was a great quick happy hour.

Jose L.

Yelp
Good beer / Great selection of board games. They only serve pretzels but you are allowed to bring in your own food if needed. Will be coming back very friendly staff and experience.

Carol K.

Yelp
Beautiful beer flight as you can see. The force is strong here. Lots of Star Wars references including Admiral A-bar ale. Dive bar, local bar feel. Here on trivia night. Good energy. No real food, but can bring yours in. Nice to have a local brew pub in Canton!

Taylor L.

Yelp
Bought some of the wine here while at the cherry hill festival and I never was a wine person until she had me try to raspberry one they have. It was delicious and no winey aftertaste. It was great. I wish their hours were a bit better or open on Sundays as well as had food available, but I'll totally go back and grab a bottle of the wine. My boyfriend enjoyed the stout they had as well. The people at the tent were extremely friendly and good to talk to, answered all sorts of random questions from us. I'd recommend trying this place out if you're looking for a good brewery nearby!

Sunil A.

Yelp
SInce this spot doesn't serve food, this is more a review of the beer I guess. The place was spotlessly clean and the bartender was knowledgeable and very helpful so A+ to all that. I have to say, I wasn't a big fan of the beer, but of course that is just personal preference. I think for locals, this would be a fine place to go grab a beer or a flight but coming from the east side, the beer was lacking. If you don't serve food, that can be detrimental. So for cleanliness and service, A+. For aesthetics and beer, C+.

Don T.

Yelp
I really haven't done any reviews prior to this but with the Covid situation and businesses reopening I have found a new reason. These days it has become much more important to me to feel safe in a business than how long it took for someone to acknowledge my existence or some other trivial issue that seems to offend people way too often. I have done some traveling in Michigan since the reopening and can tell you there is no other brewery, bar, restaurant or even carry out place that takes the Covid-19 safety protocols more seriously that Canton Brew Works. I have been to many places that I have walked out of immediately because of safety concerns. You will not find that concern at CBW. I feel as safe or in some cases maybe even safer at CBW than even at home (I just witnessed one of their scheduled sanitations of the entry door handles). If you're looking for a place to go to relax and enjoy a GREAT craft beer with excellent service and at the same time feel safe from the that that threatens us all, this is the place. Stop by here and support a great local business that has this thing figured out.

Donald M.

Yelp
I have never experienced bad service at a brewery before but I can add Canton Brew Works I paid a visit Saturday (12/22) and they had one server and the building was getting full. The lady with the blonde hair would talk to people at the front of the bar and would not pay attention to the ones sitting at the back bar. I guess she doesn't care about the back Right when I finshed drinking my pint and was going to ask for another beer, two gentlemen walked up and asked for 2 flights. First come first serve.. I get it but if I were bar tending I would not only would take care of the gentlemen who asked for the flights but I would also ask the guy with the empty glas if he wanted another because the way I see it pouring another pint can be achieved in seconds. 2 flights take some time to set up but it is possible to kill 2 birds with one stone. I guess she can't multi-task. She didn't even asked if I wanted another beer after she gave the guys their flights. She went back up front and started talking to the people that mattered I suppose. But hey, what's one angry customer. They have plenty, right. Well, there are also plenty of breweries in this area too. There beer is so so. I have had worse and I have better but I never had bad customer service. I even had to get her attention to check out. I guess conversation with the locals are more important than the less frequent visitors. They will not get no more of my money because I won't be back.

Thadius P.

Yelp
Very easy to miss if you're not looking (honestly still figured it was a coney island), but well worth the trip if you like good brews. There are always rotating food popups happening and they allow you to bring in food as well; all in all a very pleasant experience in an awesome, casual setting. (Also have decent Wifi for any working weekend warriors out there)

Hugh J.

Yelp
Well I really wanted to try this place. Came in and sat down at the bar. And I got no service. Waited 10 minutes. Guy behind the bar looked down my way a few times but never came over. I'm not going to beg, whistle or yell. I got up and took my business to Liberty Street Brewing. They get 5 stars.

Michal F.

Yelp
A quaint and inviting brewery in a shopping plaza. My friend and I both got the beer sampler here, a diverse blend of beer styles for a reasonable $9 for five 5oz pours. Although we had planned to just chill and catch-up a spirited game night ensued around us as the place geared up for their quiz night. All in all it's a very pleasant place to spend an evening.

Joe V.

Yelp
Been meaning to come here for quite a while to check it out and finally made it last night for trivia. Trivia guy is solid on Mondays from 7-9. Unfortunately, I showed up late and only got to play the second game. I came alone because I'm a loser like that, so I ponied up to the bar. Nothing was jumping out at me on the beer menu, so I opted for the flight. They had 7 beers, but the bourbon barrel beer, they do not put in the flight so it worked out nice - 6 beers for the flight, 6 beers to try. Normally, when I get a flight there are at least a couple that I think are garbage, but I actually enjoyed all 6 beers. I was pleasantly surprised. Being a new place and being pretty small, I think I had lower expectations for this place than I should have. The beer was quite good. After the flight, I stuck around for a couple more pints. Word is that the taps rotate frequently, but I really enjoyed the Tamarind Diaz - it's got notes of citrus and pepper. I thought it was pretty unique and very good. They offer minimal bar snacks, but you can bring your own food or order in. A group at the bar ordered pizza and had it delivered. Kind of a nice feature. I heard that they're planning to expand into the space next door. Not sure if that includes plans for a kitchen or not, but the setup now is functional. I like the place. The strip mall that it is located in, however, has been the death of several businesses. I hope Canton Brew Works bucks the trend and is able to be successful in the long-term. I'll be back for sure.

Luke H.

Yelp
It's really cool to have a microbrewery in canton! This place has a nice, local atmosphere and it seems like they constantly have new beers on tap. I have only had 3 different beers there and they were pretty good!

Robert W.

Yelp
The beer was OK. I'm an IPA fan and their IPA was tapped out. The bartender told me we would have to wait for the owner to change the keg. The owner never came in. Another person in our party wanted the root beer but it was also tapped out. So, they had beer we wanted to drink but couldn't. The other beer I drank while not my favorite style was OK.

Michael B.

Yelp
Love CBW! Excellent beer, awesome staff, and a friendly atmosphere. You always feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. The entire staff, Jake, Mitch, T.J., Cristina, Colleen, and Derrick are all awesome! The owners really care about their establishment and it shows. There's a great selection of rotating draft beer. Everything from stouts to sours, you are sure to find a beer for you. No food is served but there is a vast array of local menus and you are welcome to bring your own food. There are light snacks such as warm pretzels and warm cheese dip. All in all, CBW is a great local place that has found a great niche in the Canton community.

Eric L.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Sunday right after they opened on a trip to IKEA. The bartender was super cool, knowledgeable, and helpful. The imperial IPA (Under Investigation) was great. And the IPAs were nice. I'll come back if I'm in town again.

Joe C.

Yelp
Rarely have I felt as unwelcome as I did on my first (and likely only) visit to Canton Brew Works. There is no table service, which removes the possibility of pleasant interaction with the staff. It didn't really matter, as none of the employees seemed as though they wanted us there. No greetings upon arrival, no checking-in to talk about the beer, no salutations upon leaving. No wonder hardly anyone was there. The sad thing is, the beer was really good. I had a 6-sample flight, and all, especially the French saison, were excellent. We ordered in some dinner from The Pizza Station next door, and that was great. But no one at Canton Brew Works seemed to care about our experience. Great beer, lousy service.

Nikki M.

Yelp
Really good and unique beers! I had one that had some heat to it thanks to some peppers and another (the current #4) that tasted like a chocolate tootsie roll pop, amazingly delicious! If you're not sure which one/s you might like go for the sample flight, its a great deal, 6 4oz samples for $. Only downside is there's no waitstaff so you have to go to the bar to order, not a huge deal but kinda annoying. Bonus: they have a popcorn machine there (that is also help yourself) with a variety of seasonings you can sprinkle on top.

Jon H.

Yelp
Great brewery with a laid back vibe. We take our son and love to play board games and eat popcorn

Rickelle C.

Yelp
This was the worst craft brewery I have ever been to. The inside is like a home brewer raided a restaurant supply store clearance section then put some board games in the corner. Side note: they do have amazing board games. The beer is still home brewer quality at best. Had their "NEIPA" tasted more like a bad unfiltered IPA. No food, bar snacks that you scoop yourself next to the dish cart and garbage can. Inside is disgustingly dirty. Would not come back. Only came because they won the Ashley's of Westland brewery bracket. The fact that this place won is a disgrace to the other breweries that competed.

Melissa M.

Yelp
Nice place. The beer is good, but not mind blowing. I would come back to try more beers though.

David M.

Yelp
In town visiting a buddy and he brought me by. I'm glad he did. Service was great, beer was good, and had a good atmosphere. Would definitely come back next time I'm in town. Just an overall good experience.

Kelly R.

Yelp
Staff didn't acknowledge us (even as we stood at the bar in a mostly empty place...he kept walking on by), tables and floors were a mess, music was loud & aggressive - I wouldn't return. Quite a few folks stopped in with growlers, so it seems like the take-out business is decent for them. Several of the taps were out when we stopped in, so I ended up opting for a Faygo instead of a brew. It's a big enough spot, and seating options were good (especially with some board games that were out to play!) - but some definite tweaks are needed to make this a spot I'd return to on purpose.

Susan M.

Yelp
Two of us went to Canton Brew works for the first time. Amazingly cold and crappy experience. Never returning. Lazy staff try to make everyone line up at the bar to order and scold you for not understanding. They let us sit there for 10 minutes with no greeting or anything. We then found a bar tender and asked what we had to do to get a beer. Or a menu. And he was a dick to us. So bothered by our attempt to give them our business. Eventually had two wheat beers. I love beer and they were both bad. Didn't even finish them before leaving, never to return. And they had the guts to charge $6 for homemade amateur crap.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday night with my husband and another couple. We were waited on right away and even had another guy asking us if we had been helped. I had an red beer..can't remember the name but it was tasty. We all enjoyed our beverages and the price was good too. We played cards against humanity. Love that they have games. It also was nice that it wasn't super packed and loud so we could actually enjoy having conversation.

Anton B.

Yelp
Really appreciate the quality of CBW's beers. Their Saisons really shine. As for atmosphere, very basic. Free popcorn is always a plus. Tons of games and lots of event nights. Check out their calendar and hours before you go FYI. Trivia, karaoke, live music all take place here.

Kaylynn K.

Yelp
Honestly I love the feel of this place! We were thrown off walking in because it's in the center of a typical strip mall and I didn't see much from the outside. It was the exact atmosphere I was in the mood for. The music and snacks were perfect. Our beers were also awesome. I loved the "Say Whaaat?" And my guy loved the cascade in the shade. We also tried the hopbinger, he liked it, i didn't mind it but it had some really earthy notes I wasn't in love it. We would totally come back. Also a huge bonus that they played Tom Petty repeatedly today. staff was seriously awesome!

Heather S.

Yelp
Was told about this place from some 30-something friends (we are late 40s) and were pleasantly surprised that the vibe is all ages and the beer is a B+ or better! I kind of like that it's in a shopping plaza, off the main drag. Grab a group; go solo. No matter because this place will welcome you.

Rachel P.

Yelp
This is our favorite place to be. For those that have not gone to a brewery before, you will need to order where the big signs say "Order Here", which might solve some of the issues the lower raters are saying. I also love that the bartenders give some personal attention to the people they know, it makes us feel more at home and willing to connect with others.
